I'm quite impressed with Blender these days. Your block out was just like how I do it in ZBrush using primitive shapes for the forms and using Sculptris Mode and Dyanamesh to combine them to get your base mesh up and going. A little ZModeler and Topology Brush for bits an pieces to get the secondary levels of details. Blender really is no joke! It's an exciting time where this tool is now running with the big boys and they ant stopping anytime soon. I'll be adding Blender into my pipeline, I usually use Topo Gun for retopo but Blender looks real clean to use . Soon we'll have the new Mixer for PBR painting too. Great piece you got I loved the skeletal structures on this one and it came out really clean!
at any point past the first minute, I would have called it good and exported. Love how you do a ton of work for the extra details nobody would pay attention to like the upper mouth lines and such!

This is amazing, if you want some constructive criticism, I'd recommend adding one or two still camera angles to the side or corners over the video so people don't too nauseous while watching your videos. 3D art involves constantly moving the camera around, but watching a timelapse of it makes some people wanna hurl because their eyes can't keep up very well, so it tends to help if they can see a still camera angle as well on the side
Are the finer details on the sculpted mesh baked onto the lower poly mesh as a normal map? Or are you using some other technique to somehow give the lower poly mesh all that detail?
Would you be able to create a more up to date tutorial with tips and tricks you’ve developed, along with maybe clearer verbal instructions. Don’t get me wrong the current tutorial is insanely helpful for beginners but I feel people would benefit from an improved one

Blender is honestly my favorite of the two. Zbrush sometimes gets super confusing, but blender is just awesome

What's it like doing retopo in Blender? Been doing it on Maya on student license for now, but that will run out sooner or later :p

for the painting did you export the low model ( retopologized one ) and apply normal map or it is the high rez ??
its the low res with normals... probably baked directly in substance by exporting both.
