Jaguar has brought us some great, and indeed some not so great, coupes down the years. Right now, the company is on a great run of form and has been for quite some time. Perhaps the moment when Jaguar really came into its stride and started building the sort of cars we always hoped it might was in 2006 when the XK coupe and convertible models hit the market. These were followed a year later by the supercharged XKR, a car that embodied everything the company stood for. Here's how to track down a decent used example.

I can’t stop watching the Partridge-esq presenting style. Love it. In fairness it’s a different style & slickly put together….keep going.

      I was thinking more Woollardesque.

I much prefer the XK GT style over the F Type. Those two vestigial seats in the back, while almost useless for humans are GREAT as accessible boot space. I have the 5.0 n.a. XK convert, and its plenty fast, can't imagine how the XKR...or XKR-S are, I think at that point the car would be trying to kill me.
Styling in my mind is almost unbeatable. Here too in the US, I live in New York City, I can see several Maseratis a day.....but rarely see the Jag. BMW Ms and Mercedes AMGs are simply all over the place. I love my XK...simply put, I have a smile on my face whenever I start it.

It isn't looks worse and its way less practical fue to the useless rear seats compared to the Maserati.. but it is definitely faster specially at higher altitudes.

Looking at buying a 2010 XKR with 40k miles 2 owners. Clean car fax looks legit but not sure what I should expect down the road. The dealer asking 31k for it.

Sadly they end up this production of XKR and replace it with F-Type ...

This presenter is such a throw back. As said before Alan partridge style.
    But without the humour.
