Yes, but the teacup is symbolic. In many ways the world is becoming more chaotic which is why you'll see a cup break but not gather itself back up again. In a way, Hannibal is part of that chaos. Leading people to death etc. so I feel like he can relate to the situation and in a way he even resents it and realizes he is part of the world decaying into more chaos like breaking teacups. You can cause destruction by killing people, by breaking things etc. but they are very difficult or impossible to reverse and get back the way they were.
through all 3 seasons there were only 2 times when Hannibal was simple sad. That is the one and the other is after they escaped from the verger mansion and meet in Will's house and he rejected Hannibal. And what is interesting in both of this scenes there is discussing about the teacups.
The Professor 10 I love that they did that - especially after will broken down - Hannibal essentially promised that if he gave himself over he would be rewarded
Do you know what? This is an alt account, I uploaded this vid myself, and it fucking took me 4 years to realise that's exactly why the cup reforms in this clip!! xD
I LOVE how, just for a moment, you see self-loathing from Hannibal; real anger and resentment. His pure delusion that time could ever reverse and take him back is so fascinating because it's one of the few ways Hannibal shows what we'd think of as typical insanity.
Occasionally I drop a teacup to shatter on the floor, on purpose. I’m not satisfied when it doesn’t gather itself up. Some day perhaps, that cup will come together.
One of the most beautiful moments in the season, though there were a few of them. I love how they saved the teacup image from the Hannibal book to make it something good, something wishful on Hannibal's part. in the book it was an idea that made him look deranged and crazy. Worst book of the trilogy.

I love how bitter and pained Mikkelsen looks in this scene. I'm empathizing with a serial killing cannibal for goodness' sake.
don‘t fall in love with him or you‘ll end up like will!
Isn't that just sadism?
You love seeing Mikkelsen being bitter and in pain?
@@GamesCooky was most likely referring to Mads's acting ability.
Thats because you are not lile him. You are better 👍👍

And what about the Mizumono episode? He even cried there. And they talked about teacups too
I think this was their subtle way of telling us we haven't seen the last of Abigail. her theme plays as the cup rebuilds itself.

No shit Sherlock 😂
It's moments like this that made me love this show. How vividly it was able to illustrate the psychology behind these characters and situations.

Is that hope or insanity?
How that line didn’t get Mads any major nominations I won’t ever understand
God I miss this show so much
Will that tea cup push someone out a window though?
i love hanni boo so much
It'll spill the tea when it's dropped.
Damn this show was(hoping still if we fans get that fourth season) so great.

He thinks Abigail is dead.
This defines how insane he is.

Or maybe how smart and curious
