I mean, the game is only blocking access to those parts... there are mods that show those areas are fully modeled physical assets... there's a mod that allows you to explore those areas. It really wouldn't take much on the back end to officially open up those areas and add in gameplay. If modders can do it, the actual devs absolutely can.

Here's a wholesome fact in my school vr game after the mission called umbrella folding Goalius is seen holding a massive gravestone and put it in the remains of the city with the names of the people that died in the city as remembrance
I would love to play a open world of raccoon city, kinda like the Division or cyberpunk 2077 style gameplay. With all of the city that has buildings you can enter and explore. They tried that on older titles but they were so linear and short.
HOT TAKE imagine an open world RE game based in Raccoon City depicting everyday life of the citizens and daily functions of the city itself as the outbreak slowly unravels and the city turns into hell on earth. My dream game and yes I did think of this before Into the Storm.
I kinda thought that the beginning of RE3R might touch more on the outbreak and the downfall of the city but... somehow it conveyed even less of what was going on than the showdown between the cops and zombies in RE3 Original's intro.
If National Guard and The Army surrounded the city around September 25th, How Leon and Claire get in to the city without seeing a single military post? Because the original RE2 and first part of RE3 ( i don´t know if RE2R is the same date) Both of them arrive on September 29th.
Never knew about the skyline of RE2R is just downtown Montréal. Always love it when games have some things for our province, except when it's more intentional than just a random image. Wasn't the original 2nd game based off of Toronto?

I have a good Resident Evil fun fact for everyone I'm pretty sure some people may know this and may not know this but with the samurai Edge it's the only other weapon you likely have a chance of headshot in Zombies while aiming up but it depends on how skillful you are with timing it when it comes to a zombie getting closer to you I understand it's a lot more easier to do it with any shotgun weapon is even a lot more use your especially with the Magnum and Barry's Magnum but rather than that yeah I found out while playing through Resident Evil on second time that it is possible to literally shoot off the heads of zombies with the samurai Edge another fun fact some zombies may not turn into Crimson heads and I'm not too sure which ones do and don't but I guess there's a way to test that out if they will
The missile was a nuclear bomb and I'll explain why. First, in many of the games in this series it was referred to as nuclear, and second scripts get changed a lot by the director, not the writer. The writer is who makes the scripts, the director is who makes the final call. It goes for the same in my acting industry in SAG-AFTRA, scripts are always getting changed by directors which have editors go in and chop, copy and paste things and the writer just comes up with more ideas to put on the table. Either way, this is a great series and has been in my opinion since the day I bought my copy (still have to this day like all my games) the first RE came out on the PSX.
I believe that theres a game that shows the ruins of Raccoon city with a lil facility thing, and they weren't wearing any protective suits or anything. So it probably wasn't a nuclear bomb.
The Racoon City scenario is really compelling, they could keep recycling it and telling stories from new perspectives and I'd play the shit out of it.

I was really, really hoping for a more open and explorable Raccoon City in RE3R. Too bad Capcom didn't even try. Hopefully all these Steamdb updates over the last few months mean something will be announced at TGA or something. Fingers crossed.
@@lincolnpascual totally agree. I've seen them and they're glorious. Although they need to recreate actual streets from the original that are recognizable
@@MitchParker2012 I hear ya. They really should've done RE3R like RE2R and not cut out so much of the story... the first time I played RE2R, I didn't actually notice a lot of the things they changed. It just felt like an updated version of the original. The first time I played RE3R, right from the opening I was like "wait, what the fuck?" The opening scene from the original RE3 was iconic... watching the various military and law enforcement forces get absolutely wrecked? You knew you were in for a wild ride.
@@lincolnpascual God I hope we get a Director's Cut. RE3R didn't feel like RE3 original at all. You're right on the money. At least RE2R was faithful, even if they did trim a bit.
@@MitchParker2012 yeah, I'm going these shape updates to RE3R on steam are the devs prepping the ground work to announce a DC update that adds all the cut content back in... at this point, they gotta know how bad they screwed up, and if they weren't going to fix it, why not just move on and put all that manpower into RE8? I think they'll announce it soon, if it's going to happen. Fingers crossed.
The excitement I get when a new Ink Ribbon video shows up on my feed is indescribable. Thank you Kai for the top quality amazing content, I've been a die hard fan of the franchise since 1996.
I would like to be another game with a story in Raccoon City before the disaster. This city is almost mentioned in every single resident evil part I want more about it.
Additional fact, RE2 Remake Intro made it seem Racoon City is bigger only to let you barely explore it in RE3 Remake
There is no RE2 and RE3 remake.
@@giovannigiovanni.7220 what did I just platinum then.
The thermobaric missile makes more sense because the nuclear fallout from a nuke would have spread to the barriers where people watched it happen such as in the flashback in Degeration.
I promise if I am successful in life, I'll give you that RE3 remake we all deserved.
Kudos, Ink Ribbon! I’m a series-long fan and I definitely learned something! Great video!
Not only the skyline in Re2 remake is Montreal, but many locations in re 2 and 3 remakes are modeled after Montreal downtown. Fun Fact, next to downtown there is ''Le Mont-Royal (a small mountain) and it's full of Raccoons. I think the skyline is actually the pov from that mountain.
RE2 results screen theme brings so many good memories.
Now I want an RE game taking place in the 1960s or 70s
I always wondered why they only had one breed of dog there! Now I know.
Very good video ^ - ^
See it wasn't just lazy model makers
Please don’t ever stop making these videos 🥺 RE forever
They should make more Outbreak games fleshing out the city and certain survivor perspectives.
Another great facts video Kai! Can’t believe I’m STILL learning new things about my favourite game franchise!
I never knew the Racoon Cityscape in RE2 Remake was the one where I live. That is so cool and probably a fact that not many people will know
"Hey, lets make a Raccoon City football team!"
"Yeah! A football team for RACCOON city!"
"Yeah! And we'll call this RACCOON CITY FOOTBALL TEAM!"
"YEAH!?"
"The Sharks!"
Fun fact - Racoon sharks are notorious for jumping up and knocking over garbage scow's.
Should have been Raccoon Dogs, with the team logo featuring a doberman.
In all the movies and games, remakes or whatnot, after 25 plus years, not one damn racoon in it at all...not even a zombified one🤔🤔
I really appreciate all the 50 facts you found on Raccoon City, I even learned a few new facts I didn't even know until now, Raccoon City is my favorite place in the Resident Evil series and that will never change, so I really thank you for all you've done on 50 facts about Raccoon City Ink Ribbon ✌️
I just found this channel and as a big/long time RE fan, I’m very much enjoying your work. 👍
Love seeing unused backgrounds and areas. Fascinating!
With number 30, it's possible to get this cutscene if you're fast enough with the sequences in normal difficulty, I'm pretty sure I got it in this difficulty, unless I was ballsey enough to play very hard mode back in the day and I didn't remember.
RE8 spoiler: I love some people within the universe thinking The RC incident is fake news nowadays.
You believe Racoon city existed!? Right-wing KKK conspiracy nazi!!!!
@@antcow1239 I tell ya. People like him are just sheep.
It actually doesn't make any sense. In RE7 theres a newspaper article which shows that the events of Raccoon City are still on the public's mind, especially with other bio-terrorism such as the terragregia panic in recent memory (and then there are the events of RE6)
@@Jenema2 People still write about and make films documenting the Holocaust but there are still deniers. Same thing with 911 attacks. There's always a tinfoil hat wearing mf

Wow! Such a good video as always! A lot of nostalgia from it, too.
"We need a name for an American sounding city"
"Super-Hotdog City?"
"Any other ideas?"
"Racoon City"
Okay, now you blew my mind!! I've been playing these games since 99 and I know a good amount of lore but the Montreal, Quebec thing?!?
I did not know that! That is where I have lived all my life,
Salut, comment ca va, mes amis?
Where did you come across that info? Not questioning it. I've only played the #2 and #3 remakes, twice each, so my knowledge on them is basic, at best. Anyway, please let me know where that info comes from because it's bloody awesome!!
You rock and from all the Montrealers I know, merci beaucoup (thank you very much :)
Be really cool to see one of these on Terragrigia from Resident Evil: Revelations. If there’s enough facts
Honestly it is really cool to see a zombie virus that gets controlled and stopped before it ends the world
Wish capcom made full raccon city not just its some parts. Even fanmade is ok. Exploring raccon city map filled with zombies will be awesome. 👌
Watching Raccoon City blow up always breaks my heart. I know they had to do it to contain the outbreak and this story is fictional but it’s just so sad…😭
Anyway, I hear you getting SUPER excited at #39 about the diner coming back for the movie! Too cute. Lol
Loved the facts. I didn’t know there was so much info about Raccoon City. 😄🤗
We needed one open world raccoon city exploration game. Can't think of many ways to make it fit with the story, but just allow us to explore raccoon city without any restrictions.
@@desfefe
GTA Raccoon City.
It makes us sad because that city gave us more memories than most real ones...
@@MitchParker2012 you're absolutely right, that opening was very dissapointing.
@@t-wrecks9866 Replacing the cops' last stand with generic riot stock footage was just a horrible move. Who the hell gave that the okay? lol
@@MitchParker2012 seriously though, it looked like the opening to a low budget zombie film
@@MitchParker2012 agree. Not to mention the reporter use of the word "Pandemic" which pertains the entire world not just ONE CITY.
Great video, I was always super interested in Racoon City, the games made it a believable environment
I thought it was commonly agreed that Raccoon City was an expy for Pittsburgh
If National Guard and The Army surrounded the city around September 25th, How Leon and Claire get in to the city without seeing a single military post? Because the original RE2 and first part of RE3 ( i don´t know if RE2R is the same date) Both of them arrive on September 29th.
Raccoon City is what happens when you try to use herbs and essential oils to fight off infections.
Never knew about the skyline of RE2R is just downtown Montréal. Always love it when games have some things for our province, except when it's more intentional than just a random image. Wasn't the original 2nd game based off of Toronto?
Loving the video! Wish they would’ve put more time and effort in re3 remake. I beat it so quick, didn’t even feel like the same from the original game!
I need to play outbreak now, I brought it for my dad and he’s stuck which is crazy because he’s very good at these games!
Resident evil 0 was a very good game also.
I wonder what herb ice cream taste like
Probably mint.
Raccoon City has a deeply rooted place in my heart, and I'm always excited to learn more lore and discover more of the city. Always hoping for some kind of open-ended sandbox survival game in Raccoon City, seeing as how the outbreak lasted 9 days before the city was destroyed, one can always hope that the City gets a more open-ended exploration title.
The store was not a reference to Sakura from street fighter, most billboards have Japanese names backwards of the staff that made the game, they hide a lot of references to their names in places of the game
Source: Japanese Guidebook, they recently had all of them translated and we are finding many Easter eggs currently
I love this channel , and I love this game along with the lore I was a 9 year old when the first video game came out 😂😂😂 I remember begging my parents to buy me it and they did , then the first movie that came out my mom took me and my best friend who where 12 or so to the midnight release ahahah still remember it .I'm 34 now time flys as they say but I can't complain my childhood was amazing . Good job on the channel ❤
Man I remember when I escaped. I was barely able to get at least 4 miles away from the City limit when it hit. The shockwave flipped my car over, but It protected me from oncoming debris.
Right now I live in Boston, and I heard of some company setting up fallout shelters called "vaults". Gonna sign up for a spot.

i was 12 years old when i escaped raccoon city outbreak . everyone i knew was killed by the bomb. to this day i have nightmares of my classmates eating my teachers. it was horrible. even with the $2 million dollar settlement it has never been the same and my mental sanity is none existent.
Loved it. Your narration for these videos makes them all the more enjoyable to watch. I do miss the "Blue Coca-Cola" in RE2. That one little thing, gave the original Resident Evil 2, a distinct feel to it. They should have also ket the diner in the remake if RE2. I guess you can't win them all, eh? But awsome video, man. Keep up the great work.😁👌
Just find it so amusing that Umbrella Corp is so disconnected from the real world. A hired goon with an AK is far more deadly that its million dollar Hunter.
I have a good Resident Evil fun fact for everyone I'm pretty sure some people may know this and may not know this but with the samurai Edge it's the only other weapon you likely have a chance of headshot in Zombies while aiming up but it depends on how skillful you are with timing it when it comes to a zombie getting closer to you I understand it's a lot more easier to do it with any shotgun weapon is even a lot more use your especially with the Magnum and Barry's Magnum but rather than that yeah I found out while playing through Resident Evil on second time that it is possible to literally shoot off the heads of zombies with the samurai Edge another fun fact some zombies may not turn into Crimson heads and I'm not too sure which ones do and don't but I guess there's a way to test that out if they will
Hard to imagine Wesker in a courtroom
He’d definitely still be wearing his sunglasses.
@@HiBuddyyyyyy Which Wesker?
@@giovannigiovanni.7220 the Albert one.
Wow that’s so Funny I live in Kahnawake right outside of Montreal and I had absolutely no idea Raccoon city skyline was based off of it
Racoon city was THE best location for the series.
