The novel series by S.D. Perry actually does explain the meaning of red and white, they were actually two separate divisions of Umbrella. Red Umbrella was the bio-weapond division while White Umbrella was the Pharmaceutical and business division
Fun fact, umbrella created the first aid sprays, and the first aid sprays have a small amount of t virus in them to promote rapid healing, which is most likely the reason why the protagonists can all get bit by zombies and not get infected, they have an acquired immunity without realizing it.
I just now thought of it, I would like to see more Wesker gameplay/3rd party material, atleast to me you only see him in Resident evil remake, Veronica, RE4 and RE5
Technically cloning is a thing in the games as the T103 Tyrants were produced in 1998 from modified clones of the T-002 Tyrant, and Sergei Vladimirs clones were instrumental in the tyrant project.
Liking the movies or not, the point of Alice was being a bioweapon just like a tyrant, they just took that concept of the games and changed the result of mutation by virus from creating a giant monster to making human capabilities evolve, the viruses granting people super powers without turning them into mindless mutated creatures (unless they want to, in some cases) was used in the games from the initial titles with Wesker, Alexia Ashford, and Manuella Hidalgo to more actual titles with Natalia, Eveline, mother Miranda and Rose.
And all those zombie dogs you kill at the Spencer Mansion? Clones. Umbrella wanted quality control so they kept track of which dog they experimented on had the best results as a Bio-Weapon and then cloned it. Different genetics would give random results when using the T-virus, they wanted consistency hence the cloning. They do that for a lot of their B.O.W.
The tyrant plant in Survivor is heavily implied to be clones. It's also alluded to that the player character in Umbrella Corps. (Ugh). Is actually a clone of HUNK, slowly taking on his traits and habits by the end of it.
Spencer’s Letter to Miranda in RE Village actually says he was so inspired by his time with her that’d he’ll make the logo of his new company an Umbrella, inspired by the symbol they saw on the caves. It doesn’t explain the coloring, but it’s definitely a clear inspiration for the origins of the logo’s shape. ⛱️
Another comment claimed the red represents the bioweapon part of Umbrella while the white represents the business & pharmaceutical part. Did not factcheck so idk how true that is.
Here's a fact that few people remember: Avon cosmetics released an anti aging ointment and injectable that was marketed looking exactly like the blue vials of T-virus from the live action Resident Evil movie. The commercials were eerily similar, you wouldn't know the difference without the Umbrella/Avon logo showing on screen.

I love this video series! Regarding point 33, in my opinion, an umbrella was chosen as the company's logo because the Spencer family crest also casually resembles an umbrella and the idea of a pharmaceutical company 'protecting' you with its products is perfect! How much I miss dear old Umbrella! Greetings from Italy!
Village explains that the Umbrella logo came from Spencer's time in the caves where they found the mold, there was a symbol that looked like it. Point 33 was questioning why the company's actual logo is Red and White, since the symbol in the caves were colorless.
I hope we get more Umbrella story in the new resident evil games. I really really miss how resident evil started with this evil corparation and viruses and not the whole planet is in danger and we fighting rocks XD
4:26 you mentioned that "you don't know from where the logo is coming from" In Resident Evil Village we learned that the umbrella logo was borrowed from Mother Miranda's four lords by Spencer.

I genuinely think Umbrella may be older and more established than it’s perceived. Because even though Spencer founded Umbrella Corp, it still doesn’t explain how far back their ancestors go or were involved with genetic engineering. Because Spencer merely was inspired by the original Umbrella found in Romania. There was already an alliance of 4 Kings, in which Dimitrescu was already cultivating their blood borne disease. You also have the Travis family that originally provided the outline for eugenics that inspired Spencer, with Travis’ roots later becoming Tricell, which folded into Wesker’s splinter of Umbrella’s ideology. Also including Los Illuminados that was involved in Umbrella’s research on Los Plagas, and the Ndipaya tribe that originally cultivated Stairway to the Sun. I don’t think Umbrella Corp. was just a company at all, I think it genuinely was a secret society of aristocrats across the world, like Freemasons or Illuminati. Spencer only incorporated the organization into a company in order by the 19th century to obtain more political influence, which it did by contracting work with the US, Russia, and other major countries. He could just be the brainchild for a mass network of aristocrats whom the world hasn’t seen yet. Which we just saw remnants of the 4 Lords finally revealed, the inspiration for Spencer’s Umbrella Corp. While Umbrella itself has history that traces throughout the millennia dating back to 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. I guarantee they were a secret society before Spencer converted the organization into a modern company as a cover for their aristocratic and demented culture. I think all Spencer did was incorporate Umbrella into the company, and gave administrative access to aristocrats and politicians across the world. Which caused the downfall, collapse, and splintering of a centuries old society, not just a company.
This also explains why facets of government across the world are also corrupt. US, Russia, Edonia, etc. The US was already infiltrated by Derek Simmons who was advisor for the NSA, and also contracted with Umbrella Corp. So we have proof that Umbrella Corp was in bed with American government. Russia had Sergei Vladimir who was affiliated with their army, later becoming Umbrella’s head of paramilitary operations. These countries aren’t just guilty of contracting with Umbrella and bioterrorists for bioweapons. They’re just as guilty for propagating, conspiring, and secretly protecting the bioweapons industry.
@@kjh4496 That’s like saying the United States history begins in 1776 when it was founded, when the 13 colonies and their descendants precede its founding by 100 years. Correct, but the village already had a pre-established reign by the 4 Lords. To which the Dimitrescu’s had already been cultivating a blood disease into their wine. I think Spencer was the brainchild for Umbrella, he took a pre-existing secret society and globalized it by creating the network into Umbrella Corp. Allowing all these European aristocrats to have administrative control over the company which lead to its collapse.

Little fact for 33, the Umbrella logo was chosen by the emblem in a Romanian cave confirmed by Resident Evil Village. Not sure why white and red, though the black is likely mold.
Even though Umbrella is done for the mainline games it seems like the BSAA is the next big threat as the company has become more and more corrupted has time has progressed with them even using bio weapons on some missions as we see at the end of RE8 where one of the soldiers is revealed to be a bio weapon. Also since more Resident Evil remakes are being made it’s likely we’ll see the company again in something like an RE5 Remake or a Code Veronica Remake.

Yeah my pals Johnny and Craig said the same back in 1999. Back when RE was a small and contained little story that actually served the gameplay instead of detracting from it
They got their original design from Mother Miranda. In RE8 village you can see a bunch of symbols that looked like Umbrellas logo. They just added the color.
the umbrella logo is actually based on Mirandas crest. The red and white was added later to make it look like an umbrella. Village had a note with spencer outright saying he was borrowing it
Regarding Umbrella's logo I see several possible origin options: 1 Obvious: a minimalist version of Spencer's family coat of arms 2 Less obvious but my personal favourite: a reimagining of Stairway-of-the-Heaven (i.e. Progenitor flower) depiction by the Ndipaya people, which was a flower with 8 red and white petals. 3 That fckng RE8 retcon where writers descided it would be perfectly logical for a british noble to go hiking alone in the mountains of Romanian Nowhere in the winter only to be found by a random wench who accidentally found megamould in some cave and decided not to inject british noble with it for whatever reason: an obscure crest from obscure mechanism which caught Spencer's eye
Ya honestly I found it odd miranda didn't just stick spencer with a needle, and furthermore,I find it even more bizarre spencer wasn't least accidentally exposed to the mold since he was helping miranda with the research, even more bizarre tht he didn't steal a sample before he left the village, even even more bizarre is the fact none of his bodyguards or servants came lookin for the man
There is a body of water in the Bahamas called Turtle Sound. Probably at least a couple others around the world, just like how Crystal Lake is the name of dozens of lakes in the US.
This is why I love RE0-CV more then 4-8 bc of umbrella. I loved the story about 1 company in control of everything instead of a new company always somehow getting a sample or making a new T/G/C virus.

The umbrella logo origins were found by spencer in cave when he met Miranda in or near the Romania area, that’s where the umbrella logo came from (Resident Evil 8)
An easter egg alot of younger viewers probably didn't pick up on in the first resident evil movie was a newspaper Alice walks past at the end with the headline "The Dead Walk", those that have seen the original George Romero's Day Of The Dead will remember that being the newspaper that blows down the sidewalk in the beginning of the movie before the first zombie reveal
One tiny lil nitpick there's a mistake where u called Spencer "Marcus spencer" as I'm sure u know is name is Ozwell E Spencer just wanted to point it out otherwise great video sir
It seems like this video wasn't made after playing Resident Evil 8... Spencer was a student of Miranda, the main boss of RE8, and Umbrella's logo was stated directly from where it came from, it's from the central "flower" in the mural with all family houses logo.
Pretty sure cloning IS a big thing in the games, it's just more varied compared to the films where it was just one person being cloned nonstop, whereas the games have explained that several BOWs and even some characters were the result of cloning experiments. Simply put, the games use cloning as a component in experiments, whereas the films just said "here's an army of Mila Jovovich for whatever reason"
It'd b quite interesting to see Brandon bailey revealed as main villain in 9,esp whn he's had his hand in the events of 8 and 7 (bein the founder of the connections and with ties to mother miranda) tho they'd have to explain how he stayed alive this whole time (since by the time of village he's pushin 70 yrs old least) AND avoided dyin at albert weskers hands, like he's someone who managed to fool a super-powered wesker
According to the official wiki (and I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this) the origin of the name and logo is actually from the "Four Houses" symbol shown in Village which is in the shape of a umbrella
6:47 among the 5 chinese characters highlighted in a white background after the letters RLSW, the last character means Umbrella. I only know because it's also the same as Kanji.
So in the games it has been around 20 years that Umbrella was destroyed but if you ask any gamer that knows about the RE series but haven[t played they will still tell you that Umbrella is still around and do all these weird things even though that out of the main 9 games they were present in 4 of them only... Also there are 2 real life companies that use the symbol of Umbrella Corporation and one of them was near the epicenter of the Pandemic that started ind 2019. I mean really. What are the chances???
Umbrella is basically an analogy to our real world’s corruption and globalization. They’re also more than just a company, they are politicians, oppressors, dictators, etc. It’d basically be like if all of our leaders in the United Nations were secretly involved with the Illuminati. They’d have control over politcs, war, economics, society, and morality. Thus why their world seems so bleak and bogged down by corporate power. Evil is in control. You really should look further into the Bavarian Illuminati, they are the real predecessors of the “Illuminati” they were actually founded the same year as the United States, 1776. Which is a scary fact because the Bavarian Illuminati was founded by members of some sects of Freemasonry. Why does this matter? Because America’s founding fathers were also Freemasons and European. Meaning they did not originate from America as we know. This creates a conspiracy theory in which any of our founding fathers could have been involved or came into contact with the Illuminati or members that founded it, as some Illuminati members were also Freemasons. The mere fact that the Illuminati and United States were founded 2 months apart to me is enough to see they are not a coincidence.

4:13 😂.......If you see an umbrella when you look at the umbrella symbol..... I think you're missing something 🤔
Do you think that you can do another Silent Hill facts video please? Especially a video on Lisa Garland cuz she’s my favorite Silent Hill character ever and I wanna see what it is you can uncover about her in terms of facts and trivia that aren’t too well known.
It always come around to Wesker. Amazing vid and fun to know these information dealing with anything RE.
There is one more umbrella company inspired by RE Umbrella in Serbia. They used to have literal umbrella logo, but they changed it like 10 years ago. They are still called umbrella and they sell vapes and e-cigs
Love this series!
Always love this channel for RE content. Never ceased to amaze
Very detailed and informative video as always 👌 but you have forgot the other Umbrella island base of RE Gun Survivor, and other high ranking Umbrella employees like in RE Outbreak 1&2 and RE Dead Aim
0:16 ... yet.
Always something new and cool to learn! Thanks Kai!
I like how he says no corporation is evil "enough"
That turtle got me 😂
Wait you said Umbrella Chronicles is canon and then said the RE games feature no cloning, but Umbrella Chronicles establishes the Mr. X line is made of clones of Sergei...
What he meant was re games feature no cloning of regular normal humans, BOW's on the other hand are, not only Mr. X
I love your videos Kai! Thank you for always posting the best RE content.
3:45
Turtle's Sound 🐢 🎼 .
I learned something new today 😮.
"We don't know why the Island's base was only badly damaged in Code veronica, considering the Antarctic base was vaporized." Umbrella has seen The Thing, they know what's up.
Lmao man, I’m laying here trying to fall asleep while listening to your video. Your damn turtle noise made me burst out laughing, now I’m wide awake. Thanks -_-
the umbrella logo comes from the painting in village representing the houses.
3:50 "Do turtles make sounds?", no, that is a tortoise, silly
Nice video man! I have some ideas for 50 facts videos you could make. I was thinking Helena Harper, Ramon Salazar, and Barry Burton, although I think you might have done one for Barry but I don’t remember lol.
0:11 "Thankfully none of these companies are evil enough to make people sprout multiple giant eyeballs or be involved with an entire city being bombed"
Amazon: "We're working on it, jeez...."
I was gonna say that, lol. They and probably others are most certainly evil enough, they just lack the ability to do so... for now.
Bro same here. He finished the sentence and i just thought “yeah, not yet”
Great Video kai 👍
I would absolutely love and think that a big budget tv series of Resident Evil would totally work and be successful if done right!
I remember first time playing Mercenaries in RE3 back in the day and seeing the mysterious man in the chair. I was a fan beginning with OG RE so I already knew RE2 like the back of my hand and I was thinking...you guys aren't fooling anybody, that's 100% Chief Irons. lol
Yeah my pals Johnny and Craig said the same back in 1999. Back when RE was a small and contained little story that actually served the gameplay instead of detracting from it
@RoboTurkeyNinja Dude that's crazy. My name is Johnny and I had a Craig in my small inner circle back during that time.
Partially related, in Serbia there is also a brand of vapes that is LITERALLY named Umbrella and uses their logo.
There's a welding company in my city called Umbrella Welding with the logo, but in green. I'm sure its used world-wide by nerds like us.
They got their original design from Mother Miranda. In RE8 village you can see a bunch of symbols that looked like Umbrellas logo. They just added the color.
the umbrella logo is actually based on Mirandas crest. The red and white was added later to make it look like an umbrella. Village had a note with spencer outright saying he was borrowing it
Umbrella: *"Hear our ferocious war cry!"*
*insert turtle wheezing noises*
My neighbors WiFi is named "umbrella_corp" lol
Regarding Umbrella's logo I see several possible origin options:
1 Obvious: a minimalist version of Spencer's family coat of arms
2 Less obvious but my personal favourite: a reimagining of Stairway-of-the-Heaven (i.e.
Ya honestly I found it odd miranda didn't just stick spencer with a needle, and furthermore,I find it even more bizarre spencer wasn't least accidentally exposed to the mold since he was helping miranda with the research, even more bizarre tht he didn't steal a sample before he left the village, even even more bizarre is the fact none of his bodyguards or servants came lookin for the man
I love your channel, I've been a subcriber for several years now, greetings from Mexico!
Absolutely love your channel
Village explained where the umbrella logo came from
Another fantastic facts countdown you put so much time and effort.
Thanks for doing the research
There is a body of water in the Bahamas called Turtle Sound. Probably at least a couple others around the world, just like how Crystal Lake is the name of dozens of lakes in the US.
There should be an ongoing 50 facts on such a great and scary and long run game please make more!
I wonder if umbrella has any more subsidiaries out there, like sombrilla or quitasol. 🤔 ⛱️
Aqua Cure applied
Also, more MGS facts would be dope.
Ooooo 50 facts about the weapons from Resident Evil! How to unlock certain ones, version exclusives that's sort of thing!
This is why I love RE0-CV more then 4-8 bc of umbrella. I loved the story about 1 company in control of everything instead of a new company always somehow getting a sample or making a new T/G/C virus.
You just HAD to put that turtle video there 😭
3:51 is officially one of the most adorable things i have ever seen, and now i'm gunna go watch some videos or tutles making cute noises.
After this video of course.
Oh, I've seen that video. Don't do that! It's not cute at all!
@@kyles9937 aww that makes me sad now. Thanks for the heads up though.
@@natbatlightwood5288 Anytime. I saw it on TruTv's Top Funniest and yeah, although it sounds cute, the reason is a bit PG-13. The editing cuts out why the turtle is making that noise, and I'll just leave it at that.
@@kyles9937 ohhh. Right, i think i kmow what you mean, and again i thank you for the heads up. 😊😊😊
@@natbatlightwood5288 Sure thing. Anytime. Glad I could help.👍
Thank you for making these videos! They’re so much fun.
Just like to personally thank Umbrella. My son had a nasty bite on his leg and was in real danger but a first aid spray sorted him out just fine.
He turned into a zombie yet?
I just wanna let you know.. I sensually rubbed the hell out of that Like button my guy.
10:49 yeah, I’m pretty sure Alexia is not coming back from that or being absolutely vaporized with the linear launcher. and good.
Betting that in the next main game,
That 4th founding member B.B. maybe implemented into a plot ...definitely be a mixed opportunity....
@@sherif956 He probably find Age Pill and he's young agian in RE9 ( i hope so )
According to the official wiki (and I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this) the origin of the name and logo is actually from the "Four Houses" symbol shown in Village which is in the shape of a umbrella
It's confirmed spencer took the symbol of the 4 lords houses and rebranded it as the symbol for umbrella,he even stated tht in his letter to miranda
Where’s my 25 facts about Billy Coen
Top 10 badass moments of Jill, Chris, learn, Claire etc..
6:25 Ah Man, i remember the resident evil memes like this during the Lockdowns. 😂
50 facts about Prince of Persia series pls😢
There is an Umbrella vape shop here in Belgrade, they also had to remove the exect same company logo from ingame few years ago xD
These kind of videos are awesome! Love fact videos. On top of it being about my favorite games
That's timing lol just finished replaying resident 2 with a rtx card for the first time and then I see this video 😊
Could you name those real life companies that used the Umbrella Logo?
Correlation doesn’t mean causation
@@Thisconnected He mentions them in the video.
Resident evil has one of the strangest technology especially in Resident evil 6 the angled cylinder phone Ada Wong uses to contact Derek Simmons.
Rockfort Island was attacked, they never initiated the seld destruct at Rockfort Island.
It was attacked, but then explosives were detonated by Alfred, resulting in further damage. I always assumed it would've been totally destroyed if Alfred had managed the place better
the logo came from ancient cave
Love waking up to your videos :)
