    I just want to thank you. I just got a Cameo 2, and a sibling asked for a decal for her car, I had vinyl, but I didn't entirely get what I was doing. Thanks to your video, I realized I didn't need the mat, to load the media directly, and it went like a charm. You had me with the stuff on your website already, but this kinda cements how amazing I think you guys are. Thank you, so much. I may have ruined half a sheet of lime green, but you guys saved me the other half of that sheet from more mistakes.

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +rence822 Hey Rence, with a brand new blade you should have a speed of 8 (this is dependent on design size and intracacy. Smaller, more intricate designs require a slower speed), depth of 3, and thickness of 7. Glad you're enjoying the videos! Happy designing!

    You said "we have set Corel Draw up for the Silhouette, I have version X5 but have no idea how to go about it. Probably simple 'if you know how'
    I plan to make houses out of card for my model rail, and assume I can Cut the card at different depths in One run, some would be all the way through,others to be say 3/4 depth. Or would that have to be two different runs.
    Can you guess I'm new at this?

    This question isn't related to vinyl... I currently print out many pictures of buildings and stuff on card stock, and cut out all the windows by hand. Can this machine do that? Like can I feed a printed page into the cameo, and it will perfectly cut out all the areas? It seems like you have to manually feed this machine, so I'm wondering if alignment would be a problem for what I want.
    Thanks if you can help!

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sean b Hello Sean,
      Thank you for your message. You would have to manually feed into this cutter and the important thing would be to use the mat so that your paper does not slide around. One of other thing for you to think about is that your image would have to be a vector in order for the software to recognize it and cut it. TRW Erika

    Great video, thanks for the information. I have a question though.. What is the benefit of using the yellow box around the design when you are making it? Thanks again!

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Amy Fox,
      The yellow box is helpful when you have several colors in one design. They are called templates. When you layer the boxes on top of each other, the design matches up perfectly. They are especially helpful if you have a template with two stone sizes. Hope this helps! Jenny@TRW

    Hey Matt TheRhinestoneWorld ,in my last order I grabbed a sample of the car window vinyl to do as you suggested in the video & grab more income from my T shirt customers. I set the Silhouette Cameo blade to "2" as you suggested and on my 1st run, I think I cut the "paper" side so it basically screwed up that piece.(I tried to flip it over and run it through again, however, the pressure/cuts from the first run probably made too much of a impression) So, on my 2nd and last sample piece, I ran it through on the smooth vinyl side. Upon cut completion, I slowly tried to weed it out and while some of it remained on the backing, most of it although cuts were present, just pulled up with the vinyl. Any suggestions on settings that my remedy this? Thanks in advance for your time.

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jeffrey Robinson Sr ,
      The Apparel vinyl should be cut shiny side down, and the decal vinyl should be cut white side down. If it cut too deep, make sure you are not doing double cuts, and adjust the depth. You can bring the depth down. Jenny@TRW

    How's the durability of this kind of decal put on a car window? If I were to apply water to it using a pressure washer, will it be fine? How about certain weather conditions like snow storms or heavy rain?

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sean,
      This vinyl is rated for outdoor use. We have had many of these decals withstand all weather conditions and car washes! If you want to take it off, you certainly could, but it wouldn't be the easiest thing.
      TRW Alexis

  • @DottieGrecoAJEH

    If I wanted to apply to the inside of the window, I'm assuming I just reverse the image. Is my assumption correct? Also, would you use the same vinyl or a different type?

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Dottie,
      Most of the colors do have the same color as the back, though, if you're trying to use glitter, glitter has a silver back. That is the only one that doesn't have the same color back as the front. So you should just be able to turn it around.

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Scott,
      FDC is the best vinyl to use for this application. The FDC vinyl has a sticky backing and the application will allow you to transfer the vinyl to the car window or wall. Once on the wall or window, you can peel the application tape and the sticker is done. Let us know if you have any other questions. The FDC vinyl can be purchased on our website here: therhinestoneworld.com/Main-Category/Sign--AND--Decal-Materials/Subcategory-1/FDC-Sign-Vinyl and the Application Tape can be bought here: therhinestoneworld.com/Sign-Vinyl-Application-Tape

    Hi! I am loving watching your tutorials as you explain things so well! One thing I am interested in is how to create a car bumper sticker using black vinyl and white lettering. Up until now I have just been using my versa studio to print on white vinyl but obviously this uses up a lot of ink. Can you tell me the best way to layer it. Do I cut out the text/graphic from the black vinyl and put a white piece underneath or do I reverse weed the white vinyl and put it on top of the black vinyl? Also when layering is there a clear vinyl that you can put on so you don't feel the different layers?

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rory,
      I would use the Magic Trap method on your lettering.
      CorelDraw and our Design Wizard have a dedicated button for this method, However if you are doing this in Silhouette we have a video by Lisa at the following link: th-cam.com/video/03VcasVXiHc/w-d-xo.html

    • @roryjbailey4135
      @roryjbailey4135 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your reply. I am using illustrator and it doesn't have the Magic Trap. I see stickers in shops that have black backgrounds and there doesn't appear to be any layering whatsoever. Are they simply printing the black color then? thanks

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rory,
      The magic trap will have a little overlap. The other designs may be doing a simplify and reducing the inner text to allow some positioning, or of course printing the vinyl.

      Our Ultimate Mom pack is a group of vector files that Adobe can interact with (.cdr .eps .svg). The templates are the files that you would need Corel and our design Wizard to manipulate.

      Jenny Iscrafting,
      This decal will be permanent. We do not carry any "cling" vinyl. For a decal that will not be permanent FDC's Wall Vinyl is removable, and is good for applications that will need to be removed without damaging the surface.

    Do you have any trouble with vinyl sticking to the silhouette blade? I have not tried your vinyl, but plan to order soon. The vinyl I have tried from hobby lobby seems to stick to my blade and I have to try to clean it to keep it from picking the vinyl in other places of my design.

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld

      +Janet Lairsey Hello Janet, we normally do not have issue with that. Your thickness and blade depth may be too much and that is why the vinyl is coming up. We can definitely help you with some cut settings that we have tried on our vinyl. I do not know how different it might be from Hobby Lobby. TRW Erika

      +TheRhinestoneWorld I use the blade depth of 2 like you recommend. I really think its the quality of the vinyl I'm using. I have the silhouette cameo. I noticed that you did not use the cutting mat for your vinyl product. I do, just so it does not slip. On intricate designs I usually set the speed to 3. Also, do you have vinyl t-shirt transfer materials. I want to share your site with a friend, and that is what she is looking for. Thank you. How do you make multiple decals in one cut? And what's the most you can do on this cutter?

    • @TheRhinestoneWorld
      @TheRhinestoneWorld  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can fit more then one of the designs on one sheet of vinyl, then you are free to cut multiple of them. We would recommend doing this by making your work space the size of the piece of vinyl that you are using. You can then use the "copy selected" button under the "edit" tab in the Wizard to properly space multiple decals throughout your vinyl. If you have any further questions feel free to let us know!

      Hi Randy, the Cameo does include the Silhouette Studio software with it but we do recommend you upgrade to the Silhouette designer edition for $37.99. This will allow you to purchase our downloads from our website and import them easily into your Silhouette software and also gives you the ability to create and work with rhinestone designs. :) Hope this helped!
