マレーシア･急行シナランパギ 1993年 KTM Express Sinaran Pagi (KL - Butterworth)

クアラルンプール（KL）からペナン島の玄関バタワースへ向かう急行シナランパギ号。動画の３等車は台湾の平快客車と同世代の日本製軽量客車です。１等から３等まで３クラスの編成ですが、冷房付きの２等車に乗る人が多く、非冷房のオンボロ３等車はガラ空きでした。お隣のタイだと３等車が混むので、この時代の両国の、庶民の経済力の違いがわかります。
Express "Sinaran Pagi", Kuala Lumpur - Ipoh - Butterworth.
KTM = Keretapi Tanah Melayu (Malayan Railway).
West Coast line, Malaysia.1993.

I got to ride this train once from butterworth to Taiping but I was around 1-3. The station was so loud but now you're not even allowed to go on the platform when there is no train

I really like the old train and now they want to change all into new one.
The feeling of riding the new one is not the same. One day riding the new train will be boring.

共有していただきありがとうございます. During my bachelor days, every Sats l took the afternoon train without buying tickets and pretend/bluff the conductor that l lost the ticket. Of course l paid a small fine. Usually there are no seats until 150km away arriving in lpoh l may get a seat otherwise has to stand all the way.
I arrived in Butterworth around 9"pm and cross the ferry to Penang Island where my girlfriend is waiting. Next Sunday evening very sad took the late mail train arrived Kuala Lumpur the next morning and hurriedly wash up and off to work for almost 4 years until we got married and my wife has to moved down to Kual Lumpur. That was my Good old days experience with the mail train but with the new ETS train it's much faster. Thks

wow you must be classic train lover, for me i'm ultra modern train lover. in europe and in japan, a super fast train are responsible for killing short haul flight and overnight train. ets train has more share than express bus. kl to penang bus take 5 hrs, diesel hauled express train around 7 to 8 but with ets with fewer stop less than 4 hrs(w/ selected stop take around 4.24 hrs)
