Rota ("The Oath") is a Polish poem, as well as a celebratory anthem. Its's lyrics were written in 1908 by activist for Polish independence, poet Maria Konopnicka as a protest against German Empire's policies of forced Germanization of Poles
The poem was as a protest against the German Empire's oppression and suppression of Polish culture in German-annexed part of Poland - lands that from years 1772 (after the three partitions) to 1918 were under Prussian - and later, German - rule.
During that time , German political leaders like Otto von Bismarck, Eugen von Puttkammer and thinkers like Eduard von Hartmann campaigned for policy of ausrotten i.e. extermination (the same term was later used by Nazi Germany in describing what must be done with Jews) of Poles and Rota was written as a reply to this campaign.
During the German occupation of Poland in World War II, on the eve of Polish Independence Day in Zielonka, a town at the outskirts of Warsaw, members of the Polish Scouting Association put up posters with the text of the poem on the walls of the buildings. In reprisal, German occupying forces carried out an execution of 9 scouts and other inhabitants of the town.
My Grandmother had to speak German in preschool, so it was not that long ago in our history. The teachers would beat the children if they spoke Polish. We can be friends with Germany now, but we remember.

For the German mention - the poem the song originated as is theorized to have been written as an outrage against the germanization the Polish people faced in the Prussian Partition, especially after the Prussians enforced the rule (a.k.a. the Muzzle Paragraph) forbidding Poles to speak Polish unless the gathering consisted of more than 60% Poles.
The golden horn line - a reference to the 1901 drama "Wesele" ("The Wedding") where a peasant was given such a horn by Wernyhora (a legendary figure who prophesied the fall of Poland) and was ordered to rush to Warsaw to assemble all of Polish forces to fight back against the oppressors (well, technically a nobleman received the horn but he passed it to the peasant). Later the peasant loses the horn due to his pride, as he almost loses his treasured hat during the ride and by saving it he loses the horn in the process.

Brainwashing children out of their national identity has been a staple of large scale warfare for many centuries. The text refers to Germans specifically because the poem was written in reaction to specific events in German occupied part of Poland during partition era, but Russians fought Polish language use with comparable energy. The Austrians, coming from a state defined as multicultural, had a little more relaxed policies in this regard. In the WW2 Germans reprised this strategy on even grander scale, with organized kidnapping of several hundred thousand of children. My grandma was too old to brainwash, a teenager, but she lived with German family and was forbidden to speak anything else but German. This is a really insidious crime, when one thinks about it, there should be no room in civilized world for... but Russians have kidnapped several hundred thousand Ukrainian children in last few years with the same goal: eradicating their identity and boosting own populace. Shame.
I propose the holy song "Bogurodzica". It is an ancient Polish hymn. It was sung by Polish knights before battle.

The song was written at a time when Poland had not been on the world maps for almost 100 years. Poland was occupied by Germany, Russia and Austria-Hungary. Poles under German rule were treated as third-class people. They were practically not allowed to build new houses - priority was given to German settlers. Only German was spoken in the offices and Germans had priority. Learning the Polish language and Polish history was prohibited. And when it was found out that the students were learning anything about Poland, at best they were expelled from school. And at worst, they could end up in prison. It even got to the point that it was not even allowed to pray in Polish. Some German teachers used corporal punishment against children who spoke Polish at school.

This is the celebratory anthem, once proposed to be the Polish national anthem. Rota's lyrics were written in 1908 by activist for Polish independence, poet Maria Konopnicka.
Fun fact: the lyrics were written by a queer person who lived in a same-sex relation for 20 years. She was religious but anticlerical.
TBH Germany always had eyes on Polish land. Poland was baptised into Christianity to literally prevent our neighbours to raid us in excuse of converting us. And you know, they never really left us alone, not until recently at least.
