    Dutchie here. Laundromats are quite rare here. Since a few years I've seen a few appearing at gas stations but unlike in American apartment buildings, we don't have standard laundromats in our apartment buildings (exceptions granted here and there) since over 98% of people own their own washing machine and dryer.

    I had my left ankle X-rayed this week. 4 images, 13€. I made an appointment online, the same day, and I was in and out in 30 mins.
    13€.

    I don't know how it works in Finland, but here* you can rarely see a sign 130km/h on highway too. Why? Because it's the default speed limit (on highway). If you see a speed limit sign, it's because they want to limit the speed lower** than default (which is 50km/h in town, 90km/h out of the town and 130km/h on highway). To cancel the limit back to the default it's by sign "end of previously signed restrictions" or just "end of previously signed speed limit". You simply won't see the sign 130km/h.
    *) Czechia. But I always thought it's general in whole Europe.
    **) Usually lower. Sometimes you can see higher limit sign e.g. 70km/h in town.

      Yes, the signage is the same pretty much everywhere in Europe. The only difference is the speed limit, it's not 130km/h in all countries. Here in Portugal it's 120km/h.

    In Finland, as in Estonia we have lower limits due to weather. Ice is nothing to fck around with.🤔

      in estonia in summer 120 is allowed on certain highways as well 110. But yeah the weather... same with most scandinavia i think

      Poland have 140 km/h on highways and Poland have very similar climate and weather like Finland or Estonia. Diffrence is fact that in Poland roads are keept in so called black standard not white standard. Black standard means snow and ice will be removed from highways and road at all cost

      also we have laundromat type places, but it's rare to use them as she said most people/places have washers (and dryers here). It would be unusual for most people to use them, reminds me more of student halls, that sort of thing.

    The tax thing is just bs. Things have different prices in different locations here and we can compare just fine or leave it and just buy stuff at our preferred supermarket at whatever price they sell it.
    It's not like the cashier has to calculate your taxes. The computer has the price with tax. Why make the the customer calculate? Your gas can't be that cheap that you would drive to a cheaper state for your grocery haul and still save money. Nevermind the time you'd waste on top of the time you're already forced to waste driving around four neighborhoods just to cross the effing 6-lane highway between your house and the mall.

      For me the tax thing is the example of thinking about the companies and not think about the consumers. In the US is always like that, in Europe is always the opposite.

  • @jckopfly2680
    @jckopfly2680 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yeah US pharmacy adds are crazy, sometimes I don't even get what the add is for till they start a 1 min list of possible side effects to cure one thing, or they just say things like "feel better" without to some extent telling you what the hell you are putting in your body.
    And I think, at least in Germany for example, laundromats are really just a bigger city thing, I noticed that when friends that moved from small villages into the city mentioned they thought those are only in America.

      True, but when driving them, you don't have to switch gears. In that way, it's closer to an automatic.

    Spanish highways have 120 km/h max speed limit. Some few months it was changed to 130 because most of our 18,000 kilometres of highways are safe enough, but many aren't and some politics complained. Left/right have been arguing about everything in the last 50 years. Spain politics is a mess, they don't even agree in the territorial model of the country and the nation!!
