  • Ease your pelvic pain with this 15 minute pelvic pain pregnancy yoga class.
Pelvic pain and back pain are common for pregnant women and yoga is a wonderful way to help relieve those aches and pains and prevent them from coming back. These yoga poses for pelvic pain help to correctly align your hips and pelvis and release any tension in the surrounding muscles.
The alignment of your pelvis, tightness in your muscles and the position of your baby can all have an impact on any pain you might be experiencing. Pelvic pain can be debilitating and cause your day to day activities to be extremely painful. The good news is there are things you can do to alleviate that pain.
This prenatal yoga class is suitable for all stages of pregnancy. It will relieve any aches an pains, while also calming your body and mind.
Pelvic Pain can be caused by a number of reasons such as having too much flexibility in the hips causing instability. The hormone relaxin is increased in your body during pregnancy to allow your hips and pelvis to open which is necessary for the growing baby and childbirth, however this can cause instability, therefore strengthening exercises are necessary. Another reason for pain is also too much tightness in the hips and it is for this reason that it’s important you practice both strength and stretch based yoga poses.
It’s the balance of these two that will create the foundation for a healthy and pain free pregnancy.
I hope this video helps to relieve some of your discomfort. Give these yoga poses for pelvic pain a try and let me know down in the comments how you get on or any questions you have.
    With gratitude,
    Casey

Some great exercises for sure. Question, I thought that the pigeon pose was not recommended when suffering from pelvic (girdle) pain, because the pose opens the pelvic too much.

Thank you for this video. I tried yesterday I couldn’t finish the video because of my pelvic pain….today I took time but finished it…its so easy yet challenging for the body…
I have a question, why my left side pelvic muscles aches badly while doing the leg rotation whereas right side is completely fine. I am at 6months and feel the struggle of left side with day to day things as well. Please advise

It's difficult to say without being able to see your body in person but my guess is that your left side is much weaker than the right. Is there any sharp pain associated or just the ache? Instability and weakness in the hips and pelvic is common in pregnancy. You may need to add in some strength based exercises to your routine. Take it slow though and really listen to your body. You can give this class a try if you like - th-cam.com/video/pn0HA-AKzDc/w-d-xo.html
Also are you lying only on your left side to sleep?
Let me know how you get on. I hope you get some relief soon!

So many of these exercises aren’t correct for pelvic girdle pain, had to stop the video.
It’s important not to do things that pull your hips apart or create any shearing in the pubic symphisis when you are suffering from this :(

You're right in regards to pelvic girdle pain. I'll pop a little note in the description to help people better understand who it will benefit
Many people people suffer other types of pelvic pain and do very much benefit from the stretches.
