I've been seeing where moissanite is getting some really good reviews over diamonds on clarity and fire I guess they call it from a stone. :) for me it's a cool stone if you want real and won't break the bank.
We replaced my diamond wedding set with a moissanite wedding set after our home was burglarized. I'm in love with my moissanite set. It's so much nicer than my diamond rings. Has much more sparkle.
I love sparkle, clarity and hardness, for me the only choice is moissanite! I do not want to pay a lot for a diamond only to get it home to lose half it’s value. No blood diamonds for me! Thank you!
Maybe you didn't get to this part in the video, but he gets into how the production of moissanite is rife with its own moral and ethical dilemmas. So it's not quite as simple as diamond bad moissanite good. (Although I would choose moissanite if I had to.)
The most bling & bang for the buck!... Moissanite has great durability...a better refractive property...a very clean stone...white in color & inexpensive! A colorless & clean stone with a gleem & glimmer that dollar for dollar is...unmatched!!!... Since buying a diamond is NOT for investment purposes, then go for the best shine & shimmer!... Moissanite's my # 1 choice!
With Moissanite and lab grown diamonds these days, it's really hard to justify spending tens of thousands on a natural diamond. If you spent $1000-$2000 on a nice Moissanite ring and then took the other $20k that you would have spent on a diamond of the same size and invested it.... in 10 years that 20k could easily grow to be $100k (and that is with a very conservative growth - it could actually be much more). Versus if you had to sell that $20k ring in 10 years, plan on getting maybe $8k.
I can’t help but notice the underlying fear and hate when jewelers talk about Moissanites (not regarding this video specifically). The truth / fact is: Moissanites are the 2. hardest gemstone on earth. Many are colorless (DEF) but have more brilliance and fire than diamonds. You can put it anyway you want, but that’s a far superior stone right there! Lastly: the argument about resale value is bullcrap. You never really sell your engagement ring and if you split up, she doesn’t deserve to make money off it.
Thank you for this well balanced video. I've had my moissanite engagement ring for about 11 years and it still looks perfect to me. I'm also planning to buy another sometime soon. However, it's not for everyone and it's important to be informed.
I used to be “natural diamond” person until I learned how mining is affecting earth’s eco system. I recently purchased a moissanite ring and I couldn’t be happier. I own a few diamond jewelry, but honestly, I cannot tell the difference.
Me either I have an diamond estate cocktail ring in white gold and it looks worse than my moissanite tennis bracelet in structure / shine/ brilliance/fire. Just saying :)
When people say moissanite doesn't hold up as well as diamond I always wonder, what is it that's scratching up one of the hardest materials we have access to. Are they throwing moissanites in a drawer full of diamonds or something?
Moissanite do hold up more than a diamond. Many said its not sturdy enough etc. but the heat tests on diamond and moissanite. Diamond breaks while moissanite stay still🤣
In hardness moissanite falls short. But in terms of everyday wear and tear, neither diamond or moissanite will scratch. To my knowledge, moissanite is the second hardest naturally occuring mineral compound on earth. Moissanites also handles heat far better than diamonds and diamonds, while harder, are also more brittle than moissanite.
I feel like with moissanite, anything over 3 carat starts to get to rainbowish, not that that's a bad thing. I like the look of moissanite over a diamond any day, but if someone is going for the "diamond look" stay under 3 carats.
Interesting thing about moissanite - it turns green when it's hot (like jewelers torch hot) but turns colorless again when it cools. Bet there's some interesting physics there.
Hello I just have seen this video now, not realising this video is 2 years old. I am actually watching from Australia, I have seen new stores opening in Australia promoting lab made Diamonds. And promoting these artificial Diamonds as ethical alternative. Now I know there are still real ethical problems around Lab made diamonds. You have open my eyes, thank you so much for this video and all your research.
I just got a peacock Moissanite. It's gorgeous! I would love to get a lab grown diamond eventually. I have a 50s vintage natural half carat that's in a really good protective setting. I've worn it since 1982. I'm very happy to have it. I sure as heck could not afford anything like it today.
I just got my first two Moissanites and wow... I tell you all my real diamonds are going to be sold now because the Moissanites are more beautiful and so much less costly!
@@juhadexcelsior I just prefer the styles of rings I have in real diamonds and I have too much jewelry though I do still wear the necklaces and earrings I bought with Moissanites.
I was fortunate to find my moissanite wedding set from a company called Kobelli, in California. We paid $1100 for the set, and it looks as good as if it cost thousands of dollars. The moissanite is high enough quality that it still shines brighter than a diamond, and the rest of the halo and pave stones are all diamonds. All of the stones are lab grown, so thankfully they are ethically sourced. But I love my ring and wouldn’t trade it for anything.😇
I personally if I was going to get a wedding ring I wouldn't want something as traditional as a dymond. Don't get me wrong it's a very pretty stone. But the hole traditional choice of only picking it because of that just don't go with my personal taste. There is so many other cool stones that would be way more unique than a traditional dymond.
Thank you! I have learned new information about diamonds and moissanites. I own vintage diamond set, and one diamond in the ring has chipped. It was so surprising to find out that diamonds can be broken! That diamonds some times are not forever ones buddies! Honestly to say, I think moissanites are winners if we talk about small and modest weight under 1 carat.
Where would be able to see one in person? The Moisanite that I seen on TV and ads on TH-cam are absolutely beautiful. Before making a purchase of one or many, I need to see Moisanite with my own eyes. My lifetime jewelers have of course downplayed the gem. I have purchased many diamonds in the past from including loose stones. So, I live in the Tri-State area of Philadelphia, South Jersey, and Delaware. Can you recommend to me a place where I can see a nice grade Moisanite in person? Thanking you in advance.
Andrew, this is a very good and informative video, please let us know how Moissainite wears, does it chip, scratch or dull over time and does it have to do with the setting how vulnerable it is ?
My experience of how Moissanite wears in a ring is mixed. While it is very tough compared to most gems, I find it to not hold up compared with diamonds in real world use. I have observed facet chipping far more than I would have expected for the amount of use. I speak a bit more of this in my CZ to Moissanite comparison. At the end of the day it is a great option for the price, but if pressed, I wouldn't say it is better than diamond.
At this point unless you want more of a ‘silver sparkle’ than a ‘rainbow sparkle’ I’m not sure why you’d chose diamond over moissanite! Essentially all you’d be saying is look how much money I spent on my ring…
Moissanite (Silicon Carbide)is the latest diamond simulant. Like CZ, it was initially praised and pushed by retail jewelry stores with a high price. Now CZ rough material for cutting costs a few pennies per carat. Is moissanite better than CZ? It is better for the retailer since he is making a big markup on price over what a CZ would cost. Actually, visually the CZ appears much brighter and is colorless, unlike moissanite which has a faint greenish overtone. I am a Graduate Gemologist, a chemist and a faceter (I cut gemstones).
I personally think Moissanite stones are beautiful but of course they are not diamonds If I could choose between the two I will always choose diamond first, but I’m a Moissanite supporter … For instance Moissanite it is the only stone I will considering if I’m not buying a diamond…
Hello and I appreciate all the information. I just learned about moissanite recently. And have been all over the net learning about it. Because I was looking at buying a daimond wedding ring. To replace my old one and a new pinky ring. To go along with my new cuban gold bracelet. And to be honest I ended up buying 2 certified moissanite stone rings. And way less then I would of spent on just one diamond ring. For me I just wanted a real stone ring and moissanite turned out to be a awesome stone over the diamond. What I also learned. Is that just like diamonds you can buy fake moissanite. That blew my mind. So I had to find a reputable jewlery company that sold real lab moissanite. Over what many on the net would call simulated moissanite. I guess that would be like crystal or maybe Cz stones I guess. Not to sure but had to really research just to get real lab moissanite. Which was a challenge as well. But either way I will be getting my pieces soon. And hope they turn out to look as good as the website pictures and description showed. I'm really starting to be a fan of this moissanite of its history as you mentioned and the look and chemical make up just interest me. Might even up grade my wife's wedding ring to a moissanite setting for our next anniversary. Great post and people just need to decide for themselves and their budgets what works for them and their families. I've always loved diamonds. Most people I'm sure have as well. But moissanite is moving up for me. :) I will see after I have my jewlery for some time. To make my final decision.
I have many diamond pieces (I personally prefer hand cut antique stones, but have more modern cuts as well.) and I have many moissanite pieces also. I’ve spent a lot of time reading about both and comparing the two stones in various lights on my hand. Don’t get me wrong, I love my moissys, but I still believe diamonds are more beautiful and they never get that dreaded “oil slick” look that moissy can get from lotions and hand sanitizers.
It’s a great alternative for engagement rings. Mine cost a good three weeks’ wages and it is a cluster of very small stones that was the nearest in looks to a solitaire. A Diamond engagement ring loses value almost the moment you walk away with it.if you can’t afford the type of diamond ring that is going to rise in value they are a waste of money as far as I’m concerned. I’ve got one only because it was expected. People in those days would have thought I was marrying a man too mean to buy me a ring.
Thank You for your information💍 i really didn't know ANYTHING About Moissanite but just heard about it when looking at Diamond Detectors online. Your Channel Is AMAZING👏👏👏👏 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU💎😉👉✨👑
Hi, I watched the whole video. I was going to provide a link to the 5 carat Moissanite necklace I recently bought on eBay, but the seller has taken the ad down after I questioned her about the piece and asked to return it. She told me it is set in silver, not an alloy. She had two listings for the same piece with slightly different descriptions. This made me skeptical. Also her other items for sale are nothing like it. It doesn't look handmade and it came in a simple baggie, with a product UPC item sticker, with no information sheet with it, no box, no pouch, no business card, no thank you note, nothing to reassure me that someone made it by hand. I bought the piece for $100 Canadian. I'm still not sure I like it, it looks so costumey. But I will keep it and hope it grows on me. Watching a couple videos about how moissanite is made was helpful. There's still a lot of work that goes into cutting and shaping and polishing. I chose Moissanite because I was curious about it, and I like it's rainbowy refraction; because I had a piece as a preteen that was made of a similar rainbowy, clear material. I don't know what it was, it might have been lead crystal, but I regret not keeping it and I wanted to get a piece that would remind me of it.
Hello, I am new to your channel and I think it’s great your educating people on different gem stones, I am actually surprised your getting some negative comments when your simply attempting to educate people on different gem stones and seriously let’s face it there is just so very much to learn. One question I would like to ask is 1carat diamond the same size in mossinite gems stones, I have purchased some which have a number printed inside the band a hard like credit card and a certificate with my moisonite stones which makes me feel much better :) yes from reputable GIA……..they are an amazing stone particularly at night they almost flicker like a candle pretty amazing :) many thanks (gal from oz)
This is a really good video and I loved how you explained things. One of my friends had a beautiful diamond engagement ring which was a family Heirloom and it broke in half. She wanted to die, eventually she replaced with moissanite because she couldn't afford a diamond that size.b
While you could easily make the case that moissanite is a “diamond simulant” or “diamond alternative” it’s nonetheless derogatory. Ultimately, moissanite is a separate gemstone that in some ways is not as good as and in some ways is actually better than diamond. Generally speaking, though, and this can’t be understated, people who love moissanite, don’t like hearing it called a “simulant” or “alternative.” But really, the worst thing you could possibly say is that you’re better off buying CZ. Lol
I just purchased a diamond halo semi-mount from James Allen and a moissonite center stone. The 1.45 moissonite was $500 so much cheaper than even than lab brown diamond. I may consider replacing with a lab diamond in the future but I am not sure yet. James Allen seems to be an incredible company to purchase from. What are your thoughts on James Allen?
Hey mate great video, would love to see some sources for the claims made in the video! Keeps you in the clear and adds to both arguments for viewers. Cheers!
Contraire to what is said that diamonds are forever... they are not, unless you purchase a Type 2 clarity F/IF color DEF $tone! And even they can be destroyed with paronah acid right back down to carbon black!
Hello let me ask if moissanite rings are sold for a couple hundred $ does this mean it's actually a bad stone in all aspects that matter like cut , color, clarity etc and if you've heard of READ YOUR HEART jewelry give me some feed back on them if you can
I love love the whiter sparkle of a diamond. Sadly, I don’t have the budget for a big sparkly diamond :( But! Have you ever seen one of the “crushed ice” moissanites? They look much more diamond like....not so rainbow-y. I love them so much! But they won’t fit in my engagement band and my hubby says he’s not buying me a new one for our “diamond” anniversary 😆
I am waiting for my first blue coloured moissanite ring to arrive. I am curious about the colour and sparkle. I do like to wear an alternative to diamond when I go out as I have lost real diamonds that fell out of a ring. I don't like wearing my real diamonds for that reason. Moissanite would be a good alternative to wear out of the house or on vacation. I will let you know what I think when it arrives.
No you are right about that term there's nothing bad about that. Just saying as far as lapidary and jewelry it's an alternative to dymond I mean duh how is that bad or take away from any of it's properties.
Appreciate your frankness. I have several pieces of beautiful diamond jewellery bought over decades. I should be very contented with my collection. However, I just love jewellery. So I can’t help buying jewellery that I find attractive. Lately I found an online store named Anoushi that sells very pretty design jewellery made from moissinite. So far I have bought 3 items from them before discovering your blog. Will you be able to comment on this store or provide me with links to jewellers selling moissinte jewellery?
Good moissanite jewelry isn't dirt cheap. It's a lot more affordable than diamond though. It took me a lot of sourcing to find a good moissanite source. The stone quality definitely varies and you get what you pay for, even sourcing overseas.
My question is kinda off subject. I invested in a few gemstone rings, moissanite included. To sell in my nail spa. Beautiful stones. However they are 925 silver adjustable. What’s your take on these adjustable rings? This helps keep the cost down and have more styles available. They do sell okay. Thanks. Catherine
I support cultured gems and the technology behind them because they finally take the exclusivity out of owning durable gems. It isn't so much carbon footprint or politics. Every product has its place though. As long as jewelers adapt to that, they'll be okay.
I disagree about terminology yes I agree its a diamond alternative but simulant infers that people are trying to pass it as a diamond when alot of us are buying it as a conflict free clear stone that give the classic bridal look without the negativity non-conflict certified stones carry for rhe new generation. We are evolving as a society in the way that we consider more about "how/who does this effect" when it comes to everything from plastic packaging-human injustice and moissanite hits those marks. It's also (like I commented on your other video) that it suits the clientele of the everyday person, where someone like myself can afford a fine jewelery purchase, opening the market for so many people. Last point diamonds have horrible resale, I can buy a 700 gold moissanite ring and resell it for 70% of its value. I live in the UP of Michigan and mining in my community is terrible for the environment so you will never convince anyone that a lab is creating more of an issue then a diamond mine, that is a moot point.
I believe the reason why people hate the word synthetic is because to normal people that sounds like it's "fake", but when you read up more about it, you quickly realize that it only means lab created. As in the stone still has the exact chemical composition as a natural stone. To me it is a miss labeling(os smear campaign) against other white/colorless stones so that they stand less of a chance against diamond. Every time someone says "the romance of natural stones" I cringe. Since when is mining romantic?
In that article, they only talk about emissions, it doesn't talk about the full environmental impact of mining, not to mention the human toll, cave collapses, mining conditions, blood diamonds, or even the full environmental destruction that the act of mining causes to the land itself. .
I have a jeweler online that is TOP TIER for moissanite.. I got D/VVS1 round and emerald moissanite in a 14k white and rose gold custom pendant made by him and he’s the real deal.. great prices and you get exactly what you want high end moissanite stones 👍🏼
Thanks for watching. My first thought would be to check out my video comparing common jewelry metals. I try to talk pros and cons in that video. If that doesn't answer your questions just let me know.
I'm honestly so glad I found your videos. I can tell that you favor diamonds and most videos I've found on moissanite don't always talk enough about its flaws. I am awaiting a moissanite anniversary set right now and I'm probably going to treat it more delicately than my diamonds because of what you said about it chipping. I love moissanite and am happy with my choice, but there are pros and cons to everything! I'm also now reading more about the ethics of lab grown stones and learning more in that area! Informed decisions are always the best 😊
You don't have to. A diamond can crack in half but highly unlikely your Moissanite will and only a diamond is going to scratch the Moissanite. This guy admits that on paper he is wrong. And that because he is lol
I wear my moissanite every day without problem. I order mine directly from China from a reputable dealer with a factory that sells the very same pieces to American jewelers who price it so high you could buy a diamond for that price. I can order 14k gold Moissanite pieces for under $400. Why pay $1500 for the same moissanite ring from a stateside jeweler? I have $30-50 pieces that are simply gorgeous. They look like diamonds. If I chip or break one, it's easy to replace. I have several high quality natural diamonds which I rarely wear anymore. Yes they're sparkly too but not as sparkly as my moissanite plus I no longer have to worry about losing diamonds or having them stolen.
@edemontfort9482 I'm very happy with mine and wear it daily! I wanted something specific, and I'm super satisfied with what I got. I ordered from Etsy from a reputable seller. Definitely a little more expensive, but I got exactly what I wanted.
I spoke to a jeweler today and they said that a moissanite was exposed to heat (through changing prongs or resizing) that the moissanite will be damaged or chip. Is this true? Also, where can I find a reputable place to buy a moissanite and will it be a gem that will last forever/lifetime?
Ghurl theres a lot of video on youtube that moissanite are holding so much heat than a diamond. Diamond breaks on a heat test while moissanite doesn't.
Do you possibly know the statistics of how often moissanite breaks out of 1000? My engagement ring is moissanite and I'm unsure of what level of gentleness I need to treat it with. I don't clean with it on or anything. I have fallen asleep wearing it occasionally
You should not have to worry about the durability of the stone on a daily basis. Try not to expose it to rough use(gardening, weights, etc) , but it is a good "daily driver". I still advise being cautious with engagement rings for the long term, but the ring(things like prongs, in particular) are more likely to wear out before the stone. There are always exceptions, but don't stress too much and have your ring checked by a good jeweler once or twice a year.
You do understand that diamonds may be a 10 on the mohs scale for hardness but moissanite is a tough gem. Diamonds are more brittle than moissanite even though it's a 9.25 moissanite is a tougher gem. It's just as beautiful as a natural diamond maybe not as expensive. I love my moissanite diamond rings. Ben though
Were simulants initially created in labs solely for being imitations of another? If so then okay. But if you dig deep enough into the chemical occurrence of the mineral in nature than you realize IT IS A GEM but it has only been synthesized easily in the lab. And merely because that particular gem can look like a diamond, it is suddenly a diamond simulant... cubic zirconias develop in nature. Same goes with moissanite. No offense to you, I’m just arguing of the history and intent behind the term. And who created those terms. If you dig enough into the history of diamond you will see that many jewelers created these notions to better sell and gain exclusivity in high demand for their product. To gain a foot hold in their business. Diamonds are not as rare or valuable as we thought. So my argument lies with the whole mind frame of having to compare everything to a diamond.
Great video as always. I especially liked the parts about durability (7:49) and sourcing (11:27). I do have a few questions. Referencing back to an earlier video, do you still see chipping with moissanite? I'm curious how you would compare its durability (not hardness) to ruby and sapphire? What about colored moissanite? Is it a treatment or colored all through the crystal?
I have not seen much colored moissanite. Just guessing, it would not surprise me that the color goes all the way through. Durability? Hard to say between corundum and moissanite. My preference for a colored stone, I would probably lean towards Ruby or Sapphire. If you are getting synthetic anyway, you will save money on most Ruby/ Sapp. options. And natural - well you would have to go corundum. I hope that helps.
Not necessarily, but it can be a real consideration. Some salt and pepper are perfectly stable, but inclusion that are easily seen are large enough to possible cause durability issues. It depends on the specific inclusions and their nature.
I also noticed that you never went into the details of diamond labor mining. In fact you implied it, never was direct. But felt indulgent to talk about factory workers. Which side are you highlighting in a more negative light? Sure you aren’t selling or making money on diamonds on your TH-cam channel but you certainly want to maintain a stigma around diamonds by creating this content. Hey it’s okay to have a bias. I just think maybe it should be grounded more down to looks rather than pretending that you care about how it’s harvested or about it’s rarity which turns out it isn’t all that rare. It’s not all that valuable. The DeBeers got a monopoly in that market.. And I guess people care about hardiness? Sure. Whatever lol. Most chicks love the radiance. And if the chick loves it, then you’re golden. I just think it gained it’s rightful spot in its own market.
I have watched most of your videos and they are very educational. But please note that the situation of workers in factories in India are much better than your perception. You can have many other ways to make your point. This was a bad way.
I appreciate that perspective. I hope my statements didn’t come off overly derogatory about any specific country and its treatment a factory workers. I did mostly want to highlight that there are differences in working conditions and that a lot of people seem to miss that. I wanted to note that that same thing happens within mining of different stones including diamonds. That so many people look down on mining in general instead of looking at specific practices. So many people get caught up on the product itself rather than the company and their practices. However, you make a valid point. thank you for your comment and for watching!
I have several beautiful large diamonds and I believe they are worth all the conflict they go through. BUT. In this new crazy world you can pick the right cut in a moissanite and nobody will know. The problem is someone will still want to cut your finger off or rob you for the cheap stone.
If they are worth the conflict then they are worth your finger being cut off. Why should you get off easier than the people who suffer in the diamond industry?
Natural diamonds financing a big part of the Russian war efforts (Russian and Wagner Group controlled mines) being blissfully ignored is one of my favorite "nobody cares how the sausage is made" in the last two years.
The moissanite is extremely close to diamond when it comes of hardness. Plus I believe moissanite are more stronger cuz theres video on the internet where the moissanite and diamond is being heat tests and diamond brokes. While moissanite stays beautiful.
The only reason why moissanite isn't the industry standard is becauee of de beers. And for that I thank them, let all the suckers and fall guys buy the diamonds and keep ignoring moissanite. That price is unbeatable 🤣 last thing we need is excess demand and two gems that don't hold value at all and cost a metric ton to own. Moissi are literally superior diamonds in all ways except for the minor double refraction and hardness. On the mohs scale, moissanite rates at 9.25. neither Diamond or moissi are scratching unless exposed to inhuman levels of pressure and stress
Diamonds are moissanite simulants
That’s right.....I’d pick moissy 10/10 100% every single time! Diamond Schiamond 😝
All moisanite is made from seed in a lab, right?
Moissanite is its own gem, sucks someone over payed for diamond that they can’t even get half of it back on resell 😂
I've been seeing where moissanite is getting some really good reviews over diamonds on clarity and fire I guess they call it from a stone. :) for me it's a cool stone if you want real and won't break the bank.
😁 I love this comment, and I love my moissanite.
Thank you!
My feelings exactly
Don’t forget that moissanite will test as a diamond with any diamond tester. (At least from every video I’ve seen).
Newer testers will tell the difference between the two, but very few jewelers have updated to new systems.
I finally got a moissanite ring and omg! Its beautiful.
Congratulations! Thank you for letting us know here.
Has it gotten lackluster or the oil slick I hear pple talk about
@@JMac-27 mine has oil slick. I clean it with dawn soap. But it is still sparkly

@@xbby5368I mean it’s true lol…
Thank you for this well balanced video. I've had my moissanite engagement ring for about 11 years and it still looks perfect to me. I'm also planning to buy another sometime soon. However, it's not for everyone and it's important to be informed.
Trying to get balanced and researched info is difficult, but important. I do my best and appreciate the positive feedback. thanks for watching!
I used to be “natural diamond” person until I learned how mining is affecting earth’s eco system. I recently purchased a moissanite ring and I couldn’t be happier. I own a few diamond jewelry, but honestly, I cannot tell the difference.

I have a 6.3 carat moissanite for my engagement ring
You can definitely tell it isn’t a diamond, but you can also tell that it isn’t CZ.
I feel like with moissanite, anything over 3 carat starts to get to rainbowish, not that that's a bad thing. I like the look of moissanite over a diamond any day, but if someone is going for the "diamond look" stay under 3 carats.
That’s because it’s too big
Get a crushed ice type of moissanite. The larger the stone, the better it will look.
Sounds great!
I just got my first two Moissanites and wow... I tell you all my real diamonds are going to be sold now because the Moissanites are more beautiful and so much less costly!
Enjoy that under 25% resell value lol
@@juhadexcelsior I decided to keep all my diamonds... In the end, I don't wear the Moissanites.... that was 2 years ago...
@@Dakiniwoman why not wear them?
@Dakiniwoman why the change? was it because the resell value on resell discouraged you from getting rid of them?
I'll buy a Moissanite before I grow a lab grown diamond.
I'm so happy that there is a stone better than a mined diamond, so not only the ultra rich can enjoy the sparkles! :)
You’re way above average. Super duper knowledgeable. Thanks.
Appreciate that
Same thing i was thinking! Scrolled thru the comments and when i saw this i was like whoa! Someone read my mind lol
Whatever you can afford
If your happy with natural diamond get it. Moissanite diamonds are stunning also and lab diamonds too.
Would appreciate you sharing the names of some companies that sell moissianite gemstones that you recommend as legitimate and reputable.
Charles and Colvard are the top and original moissanite creators. They are in North Carolina.
@@marlapearce8537 Thank you for your reply. I went with Keyzar and I’m very happy with the quality!
@@YourAverageJeweler I find that the diamonds I've dealt with need cleaning and get clowdy much faster than my moisanite
@@YourAverageJeweler I think u are straight up lying. Hahaha. Your average internet fraud more like it.
I like the moissanite i lovethe reflection amount and the price is awesome ,,, very beautiful stone to put in silver&gold
Thank you for your video. Very helpful and appreciate your very eloquent way of speaking :).
I personally think Moissanite stones are beautiful but of course they are not diamonds
If I could choose between the two I will always choose diamond first, but I’m a Moissanite supporter …
For instance Moissanite it is the only stone I will considering if I’m not buying a diamond…
Washing it once a week with dawn dish detergent and a soft toothbrush takes care of that.
I needed this break down between the two, thanks.
Your Channel Is AMAZING👏👏👏👏 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU💎😉👉✨👑
That is wonderful to hear! Thank you for watching.
I did having all what you said but i don't know where to go sell. But thanks for your uploading all of videos.
This is a really good video and I loved how you explained things. One of my friends had a beautiful diamond engagement ring which was a family Heirloom and it broke in half. She wanted to die, eventually she replaced with moissanite because she couldn't afford a diamond that size.b
Does an organization like the GIA issue reports on moissanite like it does diamonds?
While you could easily make the case that moissanite is a “diamond simulant” or “diamond alternative” it’s nonetheless derogatory. Ultimately, moissanite is a separate gemstone that in some ways is not as good as and in some ways is actually better than diamond. Generally speaking, though, and this can’t be understated, people who love moissanite, don’t like hearing it called a “simulant” or “alternative.” But really, the worst thing you could possibly say is that you’re better off buying CZ. Lol
I like crushed ice type CZ better than moissanite but otherwise moissanite is the winner.
Thank you for the cubic and hexagonal information!
I am thinking about buying a moissnanite tennis chain for around 470$ do you think it’s worth it or no
Great video
thank you!
Great video, thank you

Thank you for the information.
Thank you for this information. eBay is littered with those “too good to be true” offers.
Sad but true. I have also seen a lot of disappointing listings on sites like groupon.
Sadly, I don’t have the budget for a big sparkly diamond :(
But! Have you ever seen one of the “crushed ice” moissanites? They look much more diamond like....not so rainbow-y. I love them so much! But they won’t fit in my engagement band and my hubby says he’s not buying me a new one for our “diamond” anniversary 😆
I don’t like the crushed ice I think they look cheap
I've been working on a more clear recommendation system. Thanks for watching!
Good moissanite jewelry isn't dirt cheap. It's a lot more affordable than diamond though. It took me a lot of sourcing to find a good moissanite source. The stone quality definitely varies and you get what you pay for, even sourcing overseas.
I love my diamond ring but would not of minded a moissanite they are so pretty
My question is kinda off subject. I invested in a few gemstone rings, moissanite included.
To sell in my nail spa.
Beautiful stones. However they are 925 silver adjustable.
What’s your take on these adjustable rings?
This helps keep the cost down and have more styles available.
They do sell okay.
Thanks.

Could you talk about teal sapphire? Your videos are the best!
Hey man love your videos and been thinking about getting a chain or necklace was wondering what’s your top 3 white metals that you would recommend
Informed decisions are always the best 😊
ive had a moissanite tennis chain for about 2 years now and not even a single scratch. it should hold up pretty well
You don't have to.
Does the hardness of mossinite count?
Do they get opaque with time?
Do you possibly know the statistics of how often moissanite breaks out of 1000? My engagement ring is moissanite and I'm unsure of what level of gentleness I need to treat it with. I don't clean with it on or anything. I have fallen asleep wearing it occasionally
You should not have to worry about the durability of the stone on a daily basis. Try not to expose it to rough use(gardening, weights, etc) , but it is a good "daily driver". I still advise being cautious with engagement rings for the long term, but the ring(things like prongs, in particular) are more likely to wear out before the stone. There are always exceptions, but don't stress too much and have your ring checked by a good jeweler once or twice a year.
moisonite cores a 9.25 on mohs scale of hardness. The Gem will outlast you without one hint of a scratch for hundreds of years to come.
Ben though
Does anyone know about price? Iam trying to buy a 2 carat moissanite emerald they sell it for 1,500
Can you please make a video on old mine cuts and European cuts?
The 4 most important factors in diamonds or moissanite: CUT, CUT, CUT, CUT.
Are salt and pepper diamonds weaken due to the inclusions?
Not necessarily, but it can be a real consideration. Some salt and pepper are perfectly stable, but inclusion that are easily seen are large enough to possible cause durability issues. It depends on the specific inclusions and their nature.
hi my name Renner i'm from brazil i'm looking for buyers for emerald are natural without polishing.

Twist in the story, diamond has been a simulant of Mossanite for all these years! haha
People would be surprised moissanite hit way harder than diamond u can see Moissanite in the dark
Very true! Mine shine through the darkness almost as well as sunlight. Moissanites have more fire, brilliance and luster than diamonds.
Where are u Andrew???❤
Shoot I'll get 2 pair and set it in 24k earrings and rock the heck outta them
You prefer diamond because it is better for your bottom line 😂
The heat resistance of moissanite beats out diamond too.
I saw it on youtube many times ghurl.🤣 many said moissanite isn't sturdy as diamond but moissanite beats diamond many times🤣
Just leaving some numbers here. Facts don't care about your feelings
Moissanite Refractive Index: 2.7 -> higher
Diamond Refractive Index: 2.4
Moissanite Dispersion: 0.10 -> higher
Diamond Dispersion: 0.04
Moissanite cleavage: Indistinct --> doesn't break.

@@YourAverageJeweler You stated the truth and people need to stop being so overly sensitive!
I strongly prefer natural diamond over lab grown or diamond-like alternatives.
Diamond is a scam, moissanite not.
He has mastered the art of extraneous verbiage.
Natural diamonds financing a big part of the Russian war efforts (Russian and Wagner Group controlled mines) being blissfully ignored is one of my favorite "nobody cares how the sausage is made" in the last two years.
Maybe
Diamond is crap, moissonite is king
Moissanite can take more heat then a Diamond.
"Not trying to sell diamonds" - proceeds to shit on Moissanite.
