    Great video but misses to call out which screws to place where as there a at least 3 different length and 2 special screws for the power terminals.

    One question, If you can read 12v when measureing the plugs on top (5:56) , would that mean that the Mainboard is faulty ? and the power supply 110/230v is ok ?

    Great video....but think would have been more useful to add USB C port and get the result...also it would add expansion functionality too as well as power.

      Thought about it for m build (broken power supply). While you can source boards in China that provide USB-C and Power Delivery initiation logic, they are sometimes of poor quality. And not many cheap wall chargers can supply 12V.

    HI, i would like to order this kit but the cost to ship is more than double the parts cost... what is technically called the part with the attached cables, i am trying to find it here.. thanks for the very helpful video!

    definitely gonna try this in my 2021 ATV, and buy the mod from you for the 2022. For the 2021 ATV the negative pin is the one toward the outer side of the unit (looking at it from behind) correct! Great work and thanks for sharing.

    • @mikegyverComputer
      @mikegyverComputer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm a little afraid to answer definitely because your "outer" may not be my definition of outer. Let's just say this when looking at the bottom of the PSU with the big capacitor in view, the Positive pin (screw) is towards the corner of the PSU. Hope this helps.

    Can you drive it with usb-c or does it have to be 12 volts? I read these units only require 5 volts at 4 amps, about 20 watts.

    • @mikegyverComputer
      @mikegyverComputer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not this model. It requires 12v. The newer Apple TV is less then 5v. See our other vid on that.

      The Newest Apple TV yes(and only if the TV has enough power from it's USB port), not this older Apple TV model, they require more power.

    Hello, will this work with the Apple tv 4K with new remote ?

    • @philipandrew9915
      @philipandrew9915 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hi if u have the 4th gen 4k u can do this but its slightly different you will have 3 screws in the position on the board as they show here instead of 2 black screws. it's really easy!! basically if ypu turn your power board so the screws are at the top in the left corner of the board. then the first to screws will be black earth to the first black screw. with ur earth wire obviously then miss the middle black screw and got to the 3rd silver screw put ur positive wire there. and it will work I've littery just done it and tested it yesterday

    • @fufhi3102
      @fufhi3102 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jvinsnes It would be way more awesome to have them powered by USB-C aswell. You could still use them with a regular phone charger, which apple can exclude so you have to pay them even more money. Also it wouldnt even matter where the frick you live, in terms of "what your house has" = Lower production cost i guess? So there are enough reasons for asking the question "why they went the extra path for adding AC, when we all have AC to DC converters already at home?" :D

    consider the different models have different internal voltage … that’s why I replace the internal power supply with an DC DC converter, to also flatten the voltage shift in the RV … th-cam.com/video/1gLS6eaj8Is/w-d-xo.html
