      @@mikegyverComputer Thank you mike, I just randomly checked the comment section. I was very frustrated when I didn't get any response from you.... But Thanx for Replying my query. What I understand is that you cut the first 6 lines from the power supply and separate in two sets first 3 wires positive and then 3 wires negative. then you simply connect the battery to the motherboard as negative and positive and also a separate set of cables from the battery to the input wires of the power cable .... and what I think is you used a voltage regulator to keep the input voltage as 12v for charging the battery as maybe the input voltage is higher ..... but if those wires are connected to the board directly earlier it means that it transfers 12v and stable volts. then why using a regulator if the apple is already supplying 12v through powercable, shouldn't we just connect the battery in the middle so it charges automatically in the middle and just supply the power when outer is cut? and I live in Pakistan and I can have access to the battery you have provided so what can I do and what if I can use a 5v battery because their charging circuits are easily available and to up the voltage can I use a buck converter 2596... or I just read about j5019 charging and boost module, I can connect a 3.7v lion battery and boost it to 12v and it auto cuts off power when charging is full or low Is it safe what I am trying to do and if it is safe ... then also is it safe regular use?

    • @mikegyverComputer
      @mikegyverComputer 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      following up on your email here. If you are still using AC input, we don't really have a solution, our goal is to use DC input and not depend on AC power for those who are off grid, or want portable power. However, we have relocated the AC adapter OUTSide of the Mac for external power. Apple over engineers their PSU, so you can potentially tap off that for your 5v power with a step down regulator.

    Thanks for the video! I recently followed your previous version for this with the DC barrel as that’s what I had on hand but would like to do USB-C for convenience. Just a heads up, inside the factory power supply, it’s on the underside of the board so if you take the back cover off not just the top you’ll see it’s power specs. Mine in the UK says: Input: 100-240v~ 50-60hz, 1a Output: 4.3v 1.21a

    If powering this from say LIpo 4 blocks at 13.6V no load or V-lock batteries that can get to 14.6V no load, when inline DC-DC converter do you suggest to output your suggested 12.6V no load so 12v under load , is that correct? Thanks and great collection of problem solving videos.

    I want to put a M2 Mac mini inside the case of a Windows gaming PC. This makes it look promising.

    Can you drive it with usb-c or does it have to be 12 volts? I read these units only require 5 volts at 4 amps, about 20 watts.

      Not this model. It requires 12v. The newer Apple TV is less then 5v. See our other vid on that.
