What a "Pair of Bush-Hog Dudes"! A reminder of my many, many years of pulling a 10' mower with my old school JD 2040 over 60 acres of brush and brambles. You brought it all back for me.
This is the way! I love my little Cub Cadet GT2544 Loader Box Blade setup but seeing this makes me miss riding my Granddad's 420 S. Nothing like mowing a big field.
Great video coverage as always Christy. Maybe you could start doing the 5:00 news so we would all be happier! My neighbor just bought a 5055E and 5075E with cabs. I helped him in the hay field the other day and I had the same complaint on the reverse. It should be slower not faster than your forward speed. One other complaint I had was the fixed metal seat belt coupler biting me in the rear-end. My wife said lay off the bacon cheeseburgers and that would help!!! God bless you all and thank you for letting us peek in for a few minutes into your day.
It’s good to see good friends sitting around talking shop. But it’s much better seeing that knowledge put to work and still have a good time together. I’m ready for the day now.
It's a good thing Christy is there to chaperone, Tim and Ken look like they are having a lot of fun and we all know where that can lead!! LOL Have a great day!
Great job guys, I was thinking, man I would love to see before and after shots of that property, so thanks for including that at the end. A couple more years of mowing and you will get the weeds choaked out. Looks like it might be worth haying one day. Take care, Jason
Great mowing video and really enjoyed the way you all the comparing. It never fails that you can somehow always find some rough ground and rocks. Really enjoyed this video!
I used to run an 18' batwing on an old John Deere 4050 as a summer job. Amazing how much ground you could cover. When i was done mowing the flats, I'd switch to a John Deere 6620 with a Bomford mid-mount flail arm mower. Great summer job for a teenager.
Enjoyed watching you two having fun working together, which is always a plus. I’m still impressed with the mowing job the TS-10 does. Nice job. Christy, the video and the drone shots are excellent. You do great work and thanks for all you do! Blessings.
I just purchased a MX5 brush hog for my 3033R and find it relax. I used a MX8 for years behind a JD 4700 and liked it so much I bought one for myself. Great video guy’s!
Another excellent video guys. Almost every video Tim post on his channel, I find very relevant to something I am currently doing , going to be doing or just did something similar. Absolutely my favorite Chanel!!!! Today, for example I noticed you didn’t have your I-match on Johnny 5 while you were hooked to your batwing. I think I just figured out why today. I know it’s not in use for a draw bar pull batwing, I just never thought about it being a good idea to remove it when pulling my batwing finish mower . This is what can happen when you don’t remove it. I learned this the hard way this afternoon. Lol Kinda put a damper on my mowing today. I at least got the front yard done before the pto shaft had a little bad luck. Lol
Was great to see Kenny using that big green tractor! I don't think he has that much to mow around his own place. I'll bet it was hard for him to get on that orange tractor though! ;) Good video - you guys make a great team!
The right equipment makes a big job very manageable. That 10’ mower is awesome. You sure have changed the appearance of that property. Any plans to remove any more of the taller growth by the building? In this heat it’s a blessing to have a cab with air. Stay safe
Tim, you sure are "brave" putting Ken into that big tractor after seeing how he handled "Vinnie"! :) Christy, great job flying the drone, especially with all of the guy wires around. Ken, nice job. (I was just kidding about the Vinnie mishap).

Riding in a cab is like going to the office, lol, at least that’s what I call it. Tim! Please post a tree puller/post pull video. I don’t recall you ever making a video about one of those. Gosh what a big change in that property then when you took it over ! The clearing and maintenance are great and guess you are using for training! Christy needs a cheeseburger now maybe you two could have one to! lol
A couple weeks ago, my sister and I did the big spring mow at the farm. 72" bush hog, 5320 4wd (64HP), most of it is 20-30% grades. (She was on the Scag, mowing the house yard and orchard, then around the trees). On e-pto, mowing basically all waist tall grass (more less like what you're mowing here), in B3 gear, I burned right at 10 gallons of diesel in 8 solid hours of mowing. I've never measured it, but seems like it is around 14-15 gallons for a similar amount of mowing in standard PTO. And yeah, reverse ratio is in between 2nd and 3rd, when I think it should really be between first and second.
Nice job. I can’t believe you didn’t buy the Kubota with a cab when you test drove it. I think my wife every time after I get done with a job on my Kubota. She talked me into getting the cab B 2650.
I mow with our 5075e and a frontier finish mower in B2 seems to be a good gear for mowing although going a bit slower sometimes to let the mower work is nice as well
Great video as always...Ken is a natural at multi tasking (mowing and narration)! How is your family in Illinois?.?...haven't seen them in a video in some time. Always greatly enjoyed Tim & Christy...thanks!
I have a 5045E .Most mowing is in 2nd or 3rd "B" range. I usually shift to "A" range B4 going to reverse because you are right it's too fast. 1st time it will really surprise you when you go to back up and have mower running fast.
Have to remanufacture the drawbar. It is too close to the PTO. Big effort. Just another example of the incompatibility of the Kubota with larger Ag attachments.
it was very cool to watch it!:) (especially the 5E of course!) Did you consider making hay on this property yet?You would be able to show a complete new line of equipment on your channel.:)
I Love Bush hogging ..Its all ways ben one of my favorites,i really like mowing hay with a sickle mower/mowing machine we always called it ! i don't really know why its just enjoyable ..to me any way!..but maybe im weird who knows..lol.
Have you mowed up and down hills with the 5075e and 10ft batwing? My pastures get quite steep and use a good bit more horsepower. I have a 12ft woods batwing and a 3039r it slows to 1mph on some hills and my 4010 works hard at 2mph. I'm curious if a 5075e will be enough tractor in my hills.
@@TractorTimewithTim yes a 61. One of my hills it just about died in second gear. I'm just clipping pasture 12 inch tall the 3039r has no issue if you are not in the hills
What speed do you average when cutting this type of flat even ground? Are you dragging the mower on the ground? I was running at 4 mph but was unsure if that is about average. The front edge seems very low. I find I bottom out often if I drag it but maybe this mower is different. Another nice video. Thanks.
How do you find the LX3310 does with the 6’ cutter from a power standpoint in tall grass/weeds and the small/medium brush you were cutting? I own an LX3310 and debating cutter size. Thanks. Keep up the good work!
Nice job! I was just wondering if you were going to eventually cut that property for hay so you had some income off of it? So you get paid to mow it. Thanks for sharing Tim & Christy!👍🏻👍🏻

Would open the opportunity to showcase so radio communication options and with the BT isotunes and phones, (unlimited plans...) I think cabs are where it at. Enjoyed the video, I wouldn't want to get out of that 5 series either!
I have mowed tower fields but not with tractors as large as shown in this video. Saved the trimming around guy wire bases for hand mowers and weed eaters. Don’t want to take the chance of busting a guy!-and the tower possibly falling on you.-and the agony of putting a station off the air !
How did KT like the 6’ rotary cutter? Looked like a heavy load that far back. I’ve heard Kubota recommends 5’ or smaller rotary cutter on the LX but not sure why, seems like maybe it’s all that weight so far out back? Any updated thoughts on the R14’s?
Concern abounds that Ken might have made it out of there without having you install a set of bolt on hooks on the LX3310's loader bucket. Honestly, that os the first mod I would recommend on any tractor. Grab hooks make the loader Ssssooooo much more versatile. Will Ken install a set of his volt on hooks? The transmission in the 5000 series is designed for loader work with its quicker reverse cycle times.
