You were talking about how you'd like to see a game explore the concept of platforming combined with pinball further than Sonic Spinball did. There's a game called Yoku's Island Express which is a metroidvania 2d platformer which I think is the kind of thing you're looking for. You control a little dung beetle and there are pinball flippers all over the map which is your primary method of taking on platforming challenges and boss battles. It was a very fun game, got a lot of good reviews and I think you'd enjoy it. It was also an indie game from 2018, so I'm sure it can be found very cheap, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's on game pass or PSPlus or whatever. If this is an itch you're still wanting to scratch I'd recommend checking it out, it was very fun and made good use of this unique and interesting concept.
Thanks for the recommendation. Just checked out a couple of reviews and loving the look of it, definitely gonna check it out, looks very much like my kind of game!
If you enjoyed the Gamegear Sonic 1 you should try the Master System version, along with Sonic 2. They look and perform better with being on a home console versus a handheld.
Well too bad you didn't make your research, because to unlock the last game you can play 50 times each Sonic game or have a Sonic Heroes story mode finished in your memory card... I didn't suffer any longer and went with the second option 😊
I'm pretty sure the Gamecube version was the one I played as a kid too! Oh well, I was happy with it at the time at least, it still had all the best Sonic games on there!
...them seeming blurry and not seeming like the right resolution IS your fault, you're the one not scaling the footage with nearest neighbor. these are pixel art games, rendered in pixel perfect, you're the one scaling it with bicubic or bilenear
Gamecube version way better it's easier to unlock everything in the gamecube version I feel like the ps2 and xbox version was just lure ppl into a version that felt not that good idk to this day the collections better on gamecube and the mega collection was the last time we ever got sonic 3 sonic and knuckles and the lock on for sonic 2 and sonic 3 it sucks the sega genesis collection dont have that feature I know it's the myth of MJ doing the music some ppl say it's a lost of codes from the game and other myth is the person who made sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles took ownership and won't let it release and now in 2021 Nintendo is stupid af giving us the expansion pak instead of the VC honestly I miss gaming from the years of 1999-2003 those years felt the best then again I was 13-17 at that time lol
It was due to MJ's music being in the game as the Sonic collection for newer consoles has Sonic 3 but, all the music was changed that MJ worked on. There are articles out there confirming MJ working on it. Heck his Keyboardist and Collaborator confirmed it, Brad Buxter.
The Gamecube version sold out everywhere back in 2003. Managed to stumble on the last copy Tower Records had in central London after a long search.
I remember grabbing it on GameCube and playing the hell out of it!
