If you want the lean to on the Door side, just have the center portion below the doors on a hinge so you can fold it down to pull your tractor up. then after you’re done using the doors, you can pivot the roof back up and lock it in place. Thanks for the tour. I hope to start building my barn this summer.
Build a porch off the double doors on the barn and your patio cover on both sides . That way you could still use the doors and have cover from the rain etc !!!!!!!!
Suggestion on lean to cover for front. Make that section in front of loft doors on hinges. That section will fold down and just hang down just wide enough to open door above and clear the tractor as you pull into the loft. I presume you won’t be going in there that often. Think about it.
@@DeepSouthHomestead oh yes they are the same chicken breed. ISA BROWNS and Red Stars are the same just have two different names. Why I don't know but that's what I was told when I ordered them. Lol I love our little girls..
Chicken run looks great and they look happy. Are you going to cover their run to keep hawks or eagles from snatching them up? The barn has transformed so much in a year. A lot of hard work from you and Wanda.
Yes I did hear the name of the company but was wanting to known which one you used for the rabbit /chicken hutch. Looked at there web site but some would not come up the there page. Thanks Patty@@pecangrovems
You guys are such hard workers. Love watching your videos. Just wondering if you are usung the bunny urine for something or were the totes just there so you could remove it? Thanks!
I love the barn and that little calf is the cutest. He will love the chickens. Blessings to y’all and it’s so good to see y’all healthy and back at it.
Wow! You've made some awesome progress. You have come so far this year between the barn, the pastures, clearing & cleaning out trees and junk as well as building different garden areas. When you add in the time lost with health issues, it is amazing how much progress you've made.
The cows are sure curious about the chickens. So you'll have some new calves soon. You two have done an amazing job of getting the barn all done as you want it with more changes to come. You really have accomplished so much. Thanks for sharing all you've done.
Roll Out Sun Shade for front of barn?? Or shade cloth rolled down over the doorways?? Your barn set up is awesome, thank you so much for sharing! God Bless you both!
Great tour! We are building a chicken coop for the first time this spring. I love getting great ideas from different videos. Such an awesome resource for DIY!
Pecan Grove is turning into a full on homestead. I know you love Deep South but are you considering moving to PG and building a house? It's too bad you can't move the cabin there. That would be perfect.
I am looking for a chicken run fencing idea and I love what you have up for your chickens. Did you buy it new or was it something you already had and I’m wondering if you happen to have the link for it or did you buy it at a store
Do you worry about animals coming in by the roof in the side there? I think that would be someplace I would wire off to ensure predictors don’t get in.
Ok. First, let me start by saying that right off the bat watching this video brings me such peace & a feeling of home. The video quality is so good and the audio sounds like I’m standing right next to Miss Wanda walking around with y’all. What joy!! Second, what do you do with the rabbit urine after you’ve collected it in the trays? (Just curious to learn) Third, them chickens y’all got are some mighty happy & spoiled chickens. Fourth, that barn has really came a long way in a year. Danny, you’ve definitely worked hard in a year to get all that done on top of taking care of the farming & gardening responsibilities.
Morning, build a lean-to on the front of your barn. But right in front of those attic doors build a set of doors into the roof of the lean-to, like a set of cellar or coal shoot doors. You can use a pulley system so they are easy to open and close and a removable support post and beam system for when they are not in use. Or just make a deck in front of those doors.
What a beautiful barn too bad you couldn’t find some type of a Roman shade type device or something to put in front of that open area of the barn to keep the rain out something that you could pull up and down maybe even metal that’s a beautiful barn though
Thank you for the gracious tour, Danny. You and Ms. Wanda are example of 'work smarter AND harder' (instead of the 'not'). All your improvements are thoughtful and also show your excellent stewardship of the animals in your care.
I'm in love with all of this! ♥️ Amazing what all y'all have done. God is so good! We praise Him for Mrs. Wanda's health and for the blessings of your new property! It's a dream property. If you don't mind sharing, what kind of cows are these? I'm assuming a smaller breed. We are wanting to get some as soon as we find the right property and I'm wondering the whys of a smaller breed vs a larger breed. Thank you for all your content and teaching us new to Homesteading!
Good Morning! What a transformation in a year's time. Just curious - do y'all have a master plan for Pecan Grove? Thanks for sharing your dream with all of us.

Looks great Danny, lots of thought goes into making a barn efficient 😊

Nice! We have an automatic chicken door that we set the open and close times. Runs on batteries. Works great!
I always love how cattle are so curious. Gotta know what’s happening. ❤
Are those your little Red Star chickens? I got me some of those beauties too last April and the eggs are just so delicious. 2:07
ISA Browns
@@DeepSouthHomestead oh yes they are the same chicken breed. ISA BROWNS and Red Stars are the same just have two different names. Why I don't know but that's what I was told when I ordered them. Lol
I love our little girls..
That’s looking great! It does take awhile to get things set up for sure
Chicken run looks great and they look happy. Are you going to cover their run to keep hawks or eagles from snatching them up? The barn has transformed so much in a year. A lot of hard work from you and Wanda.
We will eventually cover the top
Like the barn, you could store hay in the loft ,
I'm to old to put hay up that high.
The barn looks really good great video God bless
Grrreat!
Can you put a link to that solar fan? NICE BARN.
It's in the description I believe under Remington solar
Yes I did hear the name of the company but was wanting to known which one you used for the rabbit /chicken hutch. Looked at there web site but some would not come up the there page. Thanks Patty@@pecangrovems
I love what you've done to the barn and your setup!
Awesome. A huge project, but it's well thought out.
My first thoughts were to give it wood. But chewing could mean to mark territory in certain animals the article stated
I did not know you had a cookbook. ❤
Yes I've had two
GOD BLESS U 2 AND ALL.
NICE JOB,IT LOOKS GREAT.
❤
You guys are such hard workers. Love watching your videos. Just wondering if you are usung the bunny urine for something or were the totes just there so you could remove it? Thanks!
We use it around our plants.
Looks good

You two puttin new life into that old barn, it looks FANTASTIC!
What a change in a year, looking amazing my friends and your right - A man can only do so much in a year.
Wow! You've made some awesome progress. You have come so far this year between the barn, the pastures, clearing & cleaning out trees and junk as well as building different garden areas. When you add in the time lost with health issues, it is amazing how much progress you've made.
Thanks Danny and Wanda! Enjoyed the tour. You two are very organized. Always thinking ahead.
I like how everthing is centralized in the barn. It’s very organized, love it. 👍
You both have done a great job since last year.

Fantastic! I love how you’ve compartmentalized your area. Very well streamlined. As we age, it’s good to keep these things easier to handle.

It's new from our local hardware store. Tractor supply has them.

@@pecangrovems ok. I figured if you were collecting it in a container then you probably had a specific use for it but wasn’t sure.

I have considered the deck system.
Awesome video...have a blessed day guys, love from Nebraska!!
Man the barn looks great! Love how much effort you always put in everything to keep your animals safe and comfortable.
Danny, how is the grist-mill restoration coming along? Haven’t seen a post on it in a while .
Waiting to get a building to put in in.
What a beautiful barn too bad you couldn’t find some type of a Roman shade type device or something to put in front of that open area of the barn to keep the rain out something that you could pull up and down maybe even metal that’s a beautiful barn though
Well done! What a difference!
I love seeing your chickens I am have nine chickens and I hope to add to my flock in just a few weeks with baby chicks.
Your barn looks fantastic!
Love it.

That barn sure is looking good, great job Danny and Wanda!
Time to build a cabin at Pecan Grove!
Goodmorning from north Carolina. Looks wonderful. Blessings for a beautiful Sunday morning.
You'll be living at Pecan Grove before you know it. Sad though with not using that beautiful barn you just built at Deep South.
That barn is used a lot. It's full now with Cub tractor implements.
Hes a pretty boy - your rooster!

Good morning!
Morning
You guys are unreal with the amount of projects you all complete, its really hard to believe, hats off to you two.,👍💯🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏
Good Morning! What a transformation in a year's time. Just curious - do y'all have a master plan for Pecan Grove? Thanks for sharing your dream with all of us.
Yes we do. It will be revealed in the future.
Left side when built, temporary cow trailer parking, outdoor wood cutting section, fence gate temporary storage.
Looks like you have put lots of work into it, very nice job so far going to serve you well. Live stock looking good.
Danny when can I plant red potatoes in North Central Mississippi this month
Great useful improvements. Cows look good & good luck with calving. Double track sliding doors on the open end of the barn would be my fix.
Looks great for the chick's!! Do you have a net for the run top so the hawks ect can't get them ? Free range sounds great but OH MY 😢
We don't have a hawk problem.
Oh my goodness your rooster looks just like my rooster mines a Rhode Island red. I do believe that is what yours is also
Yes it is a Rhode Island Red.
I’m so happy that you guys are better. Praise Jesus.
Good morning. Very nice barn y'all.youvevdone a good job. ❤
