      This not the real fix, bud. You do need to replace the valve cover gasket to the new upgraded one to permanently solve this issue

    • @dznuttzonyachin7499
      @dznuttzonyachin7499 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Andr1019_ that doesn't even permanently solve it.
      You still need to clean or replace after certain interval

    Great video & information. Saved me a ton of time & aggravation. Thank you!
    Drilled the new pcv out with 7/64 bit on top hole (single hole) & 5/64 bit on lower 2 holes. Hopefully this fix will prevent the oil pooling in my intake duct as noted in many forums. BTW, my GM dealer quoted me $1,100 to do the GM recommended fix for this problem!

    You have to Drill those holes larger , the three holes are tight and needs to be drilled larger so
    the oil will not leak anymore fro the PCV valve .

    Did u used the same breather after u cleaned it with throttle body cleaner?

  • @TheGivebackmyworld
    @TheGivebackmyworld 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You can have a small piece of fabric to wrap around the PCV valve then have a plier to pull it up little by little. The easiest way I found was that if you have door trim or panel removal tool. It looks like a flat screw driver but have a split head. I can lift the pcv valve up easily without using much force. BTW, I have seen some video or people modify by drilling bigger holes on pcv valve to help preventing oil in the air intake tube. I did it. The oil was no longer in the tube, but it caused another problem that oil evaporated through this pcv valve holes and ended up in the intake manifold. As I experienced with rough idle, I found a lot of oil deposited in the manifold after I removed the throttle body to clean. So, drilling big holes on pcv valve will not solve the oil assumption problem. The best solution is that to replace the new design valve cover gasket which has the underneath section of this pcv covered, so the oil will not travel through the pcv line.

    nice video ,, i have a euro 1.6 2008 focus ,, my pcv is under the
    intake, i changed it recently , but there is another hose from the top
    of the valve cover to the air box i thought it should suck air in as a
    breather but it pushes air out and oil as well to the air box , you have
    an idea whats going on?

    • @danniearnold079
      @danniearnold079  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Put a small pair of vice grips on the valve. Not tighten, you don't want to crush it. Useage flat blade screwdriver under the vise grips and pry it out. It is not very tight.
