The BMF title was phrase that Nate Diaz came up with during an interview. as I recall, he was asked about wanting the title and being champion or something like this and he basically responded by saying, screw the UFC, he already is a champion, and that he holds the “BMF” title. UFC took notice of the reaction he got from that statement so Nates take was that UFC snatched the idea, ran with it and never gave him credit, pretty much true, lol.

It's a bit different when he's literally taunting people for getting knocked out... while also not being a fighter at all himself. It's bitch shit to do.
But those commentators never joke about injuries, though. When a player is injured, they get serious. (At least all the ones I've ever seen.) It's a bit different when you're goofing on a person who is most likely concussed.

Crazy to think there's so many fighters struggling to stay on the roster or financially, sleeping in their cars or gyms and yet there's 2 billionaires fighting for fun. This is what we have come to.
Out of all the nonsense in MMA, this makes perfect sense. The billionaires are seeking a primal thrill to feel human again, while at the same time being hated by a significant portion of the population. It puts butts in the seats. Those who struggle to stay in the roster need to make a name and make fans want to see them, which is always a problem in combat sports.

I've been a UFC fan since the tournament style / rent the shows on DVD because you can't find it on DVD days. For the most part Zuffa and Dana have brought positive changes to the sport. If they do add power slap to UFC cards (and man I hope they don't) hopefully its just for a short time and then they get rid of it. Not sure if they tried to make it more relatable to the common man but didn't end up well with Chris Leben pissing on his bed as a joke.
Story is even sadder since he got bullied by other people when he returned to Canada and men would pick fights with him so they could claim to have beat an UFC TUF guy.
That claim about the viewership of slap compared to the other sports was just cringe and sad, dude is in pure denial. Really really really can't wait for the day when he finally leaves and let's the UFC become a legit sport again.

Biggest gimmick in ufc history was calling conner a double champ. Dana literally changed the rules just for mcgregor, so he could pretend that he was the first fighter to hold two belts. Plenty of other fighters were double champs but dana realized mcgregor was a fraud and had to create a fake accolade for him. Now that i think about it, mcgregors entire career may have been the biggest gimmick in ufc history.
