Why is Belal Muhammad just now getting his title shot against Leon Edwards at UFC 304? Well it probably has something to do with the silly excuses the UFC made to put Colby Covington in there against Edwards first. Turns out there are a ton other fights just like this.

@@tyronekane1I don't think so. I think the latter stage of career was more boring than his earlier runs, because he became the P4P best (for lack of a better term) "grappler" in the UFC. I mean, he beat EVERYBODY later on, with a stiff ass jab, and slamming them and G&Ping them to death for 5 rounds. At least the Bisping fight was pretty entertaining with a finish. Before all that he was a hybrid-striker with a fast pace and pressure, with some knockout power too.
Woodley did alright. Ain't gotta feel bad for him. After Rory beat him so convincingly, I was always waiting for someone to do him up like that (God forbid like Nate Marquardt) again, so honestly he was over-achieving if you look at his early losses. He evolved his game and nothing lasts forever. If he'd decided to NOT Rap and not fight Jake Paul, he'd be batting over .500 in my book.

@@NiaziAamir777 yeah I watched the fight live, pretty unbiased. Magomed won 4 & 5 with 5 being a 10-8. Jan easily won 1 & 2 and likely won round 3 off damage. Pretty clear draw in my opinion.

Jan absolutely won the 3rd round too, it looked like he was just one or two more leg kicks away from getting a TKO. Wasn't even a bad fight tbh, first 3 rounds were normal, the 4th round was meh and then people just run with Dana saying afterwards the fight sucked because he checked out after the 4th round and didn't watched the 5th, the 5th round was good. I mean it was a mauling, but it was good, lol.
Well 23 out 25 journalists scored the fight as a win for Magomed Ankalaev 😂😂...also Joe Rogan and even Jan admitted that as clear victory for Ankalaev lol. I am well aware that Jan later rescinded that statement. But at end of the day the majority of the world saw it as a win for Ankalaev

Dan Severn had an overbooked schedule for most of his career. He would do pro wrestling matches and seminars in between fights. Easy to excuse him for this in 1997 because the UFC was not the only show in town. But imagine if he had made it to that UFC championship fight and recaptured the heavyweight title. Would've been one hell of a cool story seeing him rematch Coleman and possibly fight the likes of Randy Couture.

This myth needs to die. Ferguson was handed the shot at Khabib for undisputed and screwed it up himself by not looking where he was walking. So Khabib won it off Al Iaquinta who stepped in instead, and it was at this time that McGregor got the shot coming off the Mayweather fight.
I mean to be fair, the UFC is a business. Sure, the morals of who does and doesn’t deserve a title shot sound good to the diehard fanbase. But if you were in their shoes, you really wouldn’t make the highest selling PPV in UFC history happen? Not to mention Ferguson vs. Khabib was cancelled literally four times before McGregor vs Khabib was booked in 2018. If I’m Dana/The UFC, I have zero regrets on making the biggest fight in ufc history over one that was canceled four times.
At the time it was actually "most popular guy in the sport who never actually lost his LW title after winning it in spectacular fashion challenging the most dominant guy in the division" which turned out to be the biggest fight in UFC history. They also scheduled Khabib vs Tony *five* times. Daft comment bro

For Leon to throw less than 60 strikes against Colby was embarrassing not only did he break his foot & he was also undeserving of that title shot & ring rusted & Leon couldn’t even finish or show levels, especially after what Colby said

UFC always treated their favorite fighters better than the others. Bisping is one of the best examples. Then Covington. Whoever makes more money and play as they want, UFC bend all the rules for them.
Liddell V Horn was another one that was booked only because the champion wanted to avenge a loss.
That was actually Horn’s second title shot, having fought Frank Shamrock on short notice several years earlier.
