I feel a lot of fighters are delusional somewhat. They may need to be in some contexts. I see it like a QB that threw a pick but need to forget about it and get back out there next drive. When a fighter is thoroughly defeated, telling themselves it was a fluke or bc of something, can help them bounce back. It's a negative tho imo if it keeps them from addressing what they need to work on, which are the reasons they may have lost. It's a double-edged sword imo, needs to be perfectly balanced ideally
Obviously in hindsight CM Punk wasnt likely to be champ by ANY means, but he wasnt really saying anything delusional, it pretty much boiled down to "I've been training hard for a while and if I put some wins together maybe I'll get a title shot." Pretty standard, healthy mindset at the end of the day
CM Punk thinking he had a chance to win against a 24 year old, brown belt in Jujitsu as a 37 year old white belt with no prior professional combat sports experience is absolutely delusional.

I played basketball in High School, I'd love to play in the NBA, but I'm 5'10" and have a 64" reach lol. @@WoahLookAtThatFreak Okay I hear what you're saying there. The top guys build their most important years striving to be at the top. We spectators need to appreciate what they give us.
Yep I agree. Izzy's win was super inspirational to me
Nunes said she was sick for the first fight, and it showed, but she said she still had to fight. Most fighters have backed out for less. She absolutely destroyed Pena in the next fight because she was 100%
Y’all really put the mascot punch on here. RESPECT.
Wilder?
Pena faking an injury to get out the trilogy fight always cracks me up. You're injured yet had the will to run your mouth on the side lines during your opponents fight
Pena is the most bitter fighter I can remember, and I'm old.
How old is old?
@@gashscumkar6909 I remember when MMA finally got organized.....when we stopped trading VHS tapes of obscure vale tudo tourney's....and then UFC 1...

@robjohnson9270 I was only 1 when it came out. Granted I've seen every event multiple times I bet it was different in the time. Love the history and what the sport has overcome. I bet watching it happen was amazing.
@@robjohnson9270man shut up 😆
Andrew "The Warrior" Yang should have been on this list. 👊
He'll kick your @$$ easily
You left out the part where Peña *PULLED OUT* of their third fight!

Lmao when conor did the head nod and then said no and laughed I was dying 😂
Artem being the GOAT is not a delusion, it is The Absolute Truth!
we still doing that?
His loses were on purpose to give the illusion that mere mortals had a chance❤
In the multiverse of conor McGregor and Artem
I used to be on that transsiberian express but the way he switched up for Conor wasn't it-
As real as Yair fw belt.
Finally a sponsorship for all the Trekkie MMA fans.
Colby!
Thinking he won the 2nd fight and thinking 1st fight was early stoppage
I mean
I can understand why he thinks that he won the second fight
But the first one was no early stoppage
You lose the character if you admit that. Maybe even a second title fight.
Yeah, you can't portray a convincing conservative if you aren't totally ignorant and oblivious to reality.....
I don't realize that you guys already hit that 1 million...congrats mate
Pena couldn't even print the picture in color... haha
The most delusional moment ever is Paddy Pimble thinking he deserved the bonus after getting whupped by Gordon🤣🤣🤣
How in the hell is Ken Shamrock not on this list? We need a part 2 on this one!
I no
Remember when conor thought he could beat khabib, or Tony thinking he could ankle pick werdum?
It was honestly sad watching Ken continuing to compete well past his prime years. He tarnished his legacy, his record and only further damaged his brain. It wasn't until Ken was well into his 50s did he finally realize it was time.
He's gonna beat you within a living death if you don't watch it!
@@misocriallo4379 imagine making Tito Ortiz sound better in your press conference, both mr potato head and receding hairline Dana were trying not to laugh the whole time lol
This video was made for Juliana Peña 🤣
I feel a lot of fighters are delusional somewhat. They may need to be in some contexts. I see it like a QB that threw a pick but need to forget about it and get back out there next drive. When a fighter is thoroughly defeated, telling themselves it was a fluke or bc of something, can help them bounce back. It's a negative tho imo if it keeps them from addressing what they need to work on, which are the reasons they may have lost. It's a double-edged sword imo, needs to be perfectly balanced ideally
I would have Joanna Champion saying "I didn't tap to strikes" in this list after she clearly tapped and it's on video.
It still hurts to see how far Diego Sanchez has fallen. It’s crazy to think how someone with such a solid skill set never even came close to belt
At least he got a title shot at one point tho, it just... didn't go very well.
Diego was 21-2 going into a title fight against BJ, I'd say that's pretty close to the belt
@@verscarii3238 sad but true. Dude just wasn’t champ level. Poor man got schooled in that title fight.
When Diego was fighting on the card his fight was usually the best one.
Gotta love the 2 min star trex commercial right in the beginning
Obviously in hindsight CM Punk wasnt likely to be champ by ANY means, but he wasnt really saying anything delusional, it pretty much boiled down to "I've been training hard for a while and if I put some wins together maybe I'll get a title shot." Pretty standard, healthy mindset at the end of the day
CM Punk thinking he had a chance to win against a 24 year old, brown belt in Jujitsu as a 37 year old white belt with no prior professional combat sports experience is absolutely delusional.
@@WoahLookAtThatFreak I disagree. In my opinion, it's admirable to bet on personal success despite immense unlikeliness. To do otherwise is to live in fear.
@@sagesarrazine6270 There's believing in yourself, which is admirable, but then there's complete delusions of grandeur that make people think they're able to achieve outside of their skill and experience level. I don't deny that Punk getting involved in MMA is commendable, but to think that he could compete in the biggest organization despite not only being inexperienced, but also being not that great of an athlete to begin with is simply absurd. I played basketball in High School, I'd love to play in the NBA, but I'm 5'10" and have a 64" reach lol. To think that I'd aptly fare against even the lowest ranked NBA player in a 1-on-1 would be straight up delusional.
@@WoahLookAtThatFreak Okay I hear what you're saying there. I think my point is more that Punk's predictions of success came more from a place of genuine well-meaning ignorance than ego/delusions of grandeur. It seems to me more like he underestimated the skill level of the UFC than he did overestimate himself the same way, say, Peña did on this list
CM Punk was likely using WWE marketing tactics, nothing more...does he know much else??? Has he ever done anything outside of fake wrestling? He experiences would tell him that's how to sell an event....
I love Diego, definitely "the craziest guy to ever step foot in the octagon."
Mayhem miller called. He said he's gonna break into your house
Peña pulled out of the trilogy lol, it was heavily rumored that nunes next opponent was her last anyway and Peña might’ve known this and used it as a opportunity to trash talk nunes, but she can’t call anyone scared the fight was booked and she couldn’t make the date and was replaced
That thumbnail is ruthless 😂😂
Juliana Pena is the current 🤡🐐
julianna “jab-cross-jab-cross-jab get rocked” pena
I'd have to retire from life if I have to watch anymore of Pena's striking.
The running punches were legendary
4:01 I genuinely can't tell which is Pat and which is Rose lmao
HEAD MOVEMENT! You missed Ronda Rousey. She had all the excuses for her losses and she thought she could beat Cain and Floyd Maywheather!!! LOL
Dont tell me Cain stand for Cain Velasquez lmao 😂
@@mauricethiolloy5795
Google: "Ronda Rousey may defeat Cain Velasquez" and you will find what you are looking for :P
Imagine making the call that your rival is going to retire, get your trilogy, get hurt in practice (like an idiot), and then be all pissy when you didnt get your fight because you dropped out because you got hurt in practice (like an idiot).
Honestly I respect Punk a little because any "normal person" would be fucking terrified to go in a cage and fight a trained killer. Anyone would shit themselves before even leaving the locker room but Punk just went out there.
I’m starting to love how MMA On Point video titles are like punchlines. I see a UFC fighter do something dumb in public, then a day later they’re in a thumb nail with a top 10 based off their behavior 😂
Pena got lucky the first time round, Nunes didn't take her seriously and you can't do that at this level. You could run that fight back one hundred times, and ninety-nine of those will look exactly like that second fight.
Montaño claiming she’d KO and Sub Shevchenko at the same time had me thinking she needed a brain scan
When Conor said he only counts knockouts then jumps a guillotine right after when fighting Dustin 😂😂😂

Always love a video with my boy Bayliun on commentary. 🤘
13:29 He was too old and beat the f***. Seriously if someone wants to get in the UFC with a fractured skull, a torn MCL, a staph infection, half-a-dozen concussion and 20 years of wear and tear, he should be told no. I call this the "Takada effect".
Dr. Phil literally called me delusional on national TV. So HOW am I not on this list!? 😭 😂

8:09 honestly, Pena hit Nunes with the hardest headbutt i've ever seen in the sport, and Amanda continued till the end of the fight, and she won all rounds. Pena is kinda dirty to me, because the headbutt seemed intentional.
B4 i even clicked on this. i said to myself that if diego sanchez isn't on here, I'll be flabbergasted. i never should have doubted 4 a second😂.
I don't think TJ thought he could win I think he thought that he's going to have to retire because of his injury so he might as well get one last payday in.
Honestly if Peña and Nunes did a trilogy it would’ve been just like the second fight. I feel like Amanda let it go 5 rounds to just pummel her to prove a point

He mentioned it. Did you watch?
Arman tsarukyan calling a titlle shot after beating a +800 unraked 1-3 figther, was just the peak and should be the #1, felder even have to bring him back to reality during his delusional speech.

How is believing in yourself delusional? He made absolutely no excuse for his loses to Jokes even though Jon cheated and popped for steroids in their second fight? This is one of the most embarrassing takes I’ve seen.
Juliana Pena is a DIVA. She couldn’t even wear Amanda’s flip flops…..
