When you get access to the club buy the url regarding a vending machine, it'll change the vending machine in iwatodai station to have more items than usual (both hp and sp)
Might want to mention that the best day to buy weapons and armor is the sales day. You usually get a message and he cuts his prices a bit, to help you save that much more. I can't remember what day it is, but it's consistent.

My tips: - buy sp drinks from vending machines as often as possible. Make sure to get and visit the url in the night club that lets you buy additional sp drinks - do Elizabeth's missions asap and talk to her every night to see if she gives twilight fragments - do your Tartarus run on eother a new moon or at least a night where there's absolutely nothing else going on - break the objects that are found in Tartarus to get additional hp/sp recovery items - use sp drinks, twilight fragments, and a set of major arcana from shuffle time to do an entire set of floors in one visit - upgrade gear (starting with weapons) during a sale after new gear is available
My tip: - Buy stuff from the store at school, things are really cheap in comparison to the pharmacy i.e. - When you see the map press X (square on PS I think) and you can see which characters will level up if you pass time with them, that makes easier for you to decide what to do

New players generally won't know a enemies weakness so they'll waste SP to find it, meaning with the limitied pool of SP most may reach second/third floor boss with no SP and have to either call it quits or attempt to fight melee from then on, SP is valuable, if the average early game enemy can be defeated in two hits it may be better to use physical attacks instead. Assuming average players pick normal difficulty an it's still early game, rather than use valuable SP to heal via Dia outside battle, a few repeats of a lower floor can get you a few heal items from the breakables, plus the added bonus of claiming loot for future purchases, one of the shadows there is also weak to slash setting up shuffle time as well. Twilight Fragment chests contain slightly random loot when found on non boss floors, i found one that gave a 20hp accessory, had saved prior to this, repeated visiting it until i got a 10sp accessory for a future Tartarus run, counts for other chests if you wish to min max your chances for a different piece of loot (eg start on x floor if y floor has loot avoid until finding a tele, then repeat prior floors to chest) I'd guess that chests contain 3 possible items to save myself from repeating too often.

A couple of other tips that made the game way easier: 1) When you have the money, buy 99 of each bread from the store at school. They are the best value in terms of HP restoration. In the early game, this will save a ton of SP since you won’t have to use as much SP to heal in between battles. 2) Learn Life Aid the first chance you get. Matador + invigorate + Blade of Fury trivialized the proceeding 2 blocks of Tartarus after I got that set up established.
Wow thanks for the tips, funny enough I was doing these tips without knowing them (minus the vending machines and zio, I thought the pharmacy had SP items and I couldn't find the persona that had it XD)
SP soda’s don’t really help much for me. Best thing I found is either, swap out party members when you need too, give an invigorate necklace to a member who needs it, or just focus on critical hit chance.
i played persona 3 reload on merciless and got 100% on my social links. what i can suggest is to never buy equipment from kurosawa and just use the money to buy medicine every saturday at the pharmacy as it can save you a lot of SP during tartarus runs. also if you can't finish your tartarus runs in 1 day then try to run it every sunday as arcades are usually the best way to get social stats during the night and sundays offer none.

ACK! Sorry to the person who replied to this comment as I accidentally removed it. But what he said was right, in this version, Swords give skill cards usually. Weapons will be acquired via chests. :)
These are all awesome, except I would prioritize footwear over weapons, even early on. Totally negating damage in a game like Persona can make or break a run in Tartarus, and you rarely attack with your weapon (against trash mobs, gatekeepers are understandable) until you're overleveled enough that rush mode is effective. In fact, I'd prioritize weapons *last,* with only accessories being an afterthought. You miss a key attack during battle and you'll be wishing you forked over that 3k yen for a stiff shirt.
@@UnGeekPH if I remember correctly the tiredness mechanic was one of the many reasons why doing the rush was desirable since you had to plan out your activities meticulously around social links and stat increasing activities not to mention not everyone is gonna be available at all times lol
@@Schion_Aoh definitely! It was a HUGE reason but also, for completionists like myself, one-shotting Tartarus runs would give you more chances to max your stats and social links :)
@@UnGeekPH by the way, I think there will be some stuff people could try to do in NG+ in this remake because I tried the dialogue option that is kinda flirting with the teacher (toriumi) when you first meet her (I think it was asking for her given name) and the game basically says my charm stat isn't high enough hahaha
instead of buying the vending machine drinks, I recommend getting spirit drain on one of your personas along with drain ability. With these two skills, you basically have infinite SP on the player character
Just another quick tip, the police station has a sale on every monday and the drugstore on every saturday. Make sure you buy on these days to save some money.
Another thing I recommend is get the gears from the dungeons via using the twilight fragments because the gears you get there are better like I ended up getting different bands that would cost me 1000 tend to get for free and weapons like the toy bow and the small Japanese sword that can rise your Ag to +1
Thanks for the tips! I became familiar with buying SP sodas in P4G. Is there any such item like the SP adhesive that was in P5R which lets you regenerate sp during (or was it after battle), rather than having to use consumables?
I forget if it’s taught, but you can also put takoyaki in the fridge every few weeks and you can basically “get” free recovery items (that are pretty strong!). Doesn’t use time and also just useful!
Do the Twilight Fragments on the map respawn or show up randomly? After my initial map sweep, I kinda stopped looking and just fast travel everywhere now.
Actually you want to buy one of each soda because it's a request for Elizabeth. not that it's hard or anything but just having it done already is nice.
Later on people will end up lost in tartarus and will die on the full moons. My advice is wait until all the lost people to get lost then go into tartarus to save them, then get the border floor in one swoop. I remember someone getting lost one month about 2 day before the full moon so it was cutting it close.
Another tip from me to use the gems that you get from the beginning they don’t cost sp and at times are better because of status affliction rate is higher
I was a bit disappointed with the changes to the sp thing since I remember you could heal at any time with the clock in the og game or spend money to heal in p3p. Would be cool if the clock costed idk 20+ fragments in the entrance but once you unlocked it, its a permanent feature instead of having to pay 7 per run (or was it per use? Im still in the very start but reached the first 22 floors.) I know in the future (and if you know where to look in the map) it becomes easier to grind twilight fragments, but still find it a bit saddening. Still having a blast with the game tho! ALSO I read somewhere that although they removed the getting sick feature, if you go to the nurse office after each tartarus run, the nurse will still give you medicine to raise your Courage!
Thanks for pointing that out! I kinda mentioned it in Tip #8, I did kinda debate on whether I should mention it or not but since the game kinda does mention it, we focused on the more unsaid ones :)
@UnGeekPH Honestly, between the evening events and PC software, you can level attributes so fast that you'll have plenty of time to complete all Social Skill Links even without matching personas.
@@mappybc6097 True. Reload does give you more leeway but the game does also have other activities that take up time like spending time w the male members of SEES, who now have full fleshed out side stories.
once you are in your 20s those mad bulls arent worth it youd be better off just abusing invigorate and only using SP on MC than bothering with mad bulls if you struggle with having enough SP for tartarus runs. Physical also is so much better than in p3p so be sure to use that when you have an opportunity they actually let you hit stuff as junpei for once early game lol.
Honestly for your first Tartarus run I feel like you should really be prioritizing the armor over the weapons. I understand the mentality of "big stick hit hard" but this game is more about taking advantage of weakness' anyway. The power of your weapon won't matter that much if you're going to be knocking down enemies and going for all out attacks every battle. Its not really necessary to upgrade them all the time. Especially because you will usually get the better upgrades just my opening the lvl 3 locked chests in Tartarus. More efficient to take less damage imo. I also recommend doing a few social links before committing to Tartarus. It's a good way to get more twilight fragments(keys) to open chests that otherwise, if you went directly into Tartarus on the 4/21; you wouldn't have the keys to open as you come upon them. Additionally for shuffle time you should definitely make the major arcana your top priority. I'd say focus should be more like; Major Arcana's > Persona > Exp Cards > Money Cards The major arcana give you big buffs for the rest of your time in Tartarus and if you get them all it increases the effectiveness of your shuffle time cards. Persona are obviously very important but not nearly as rare as the major arcana cards. Then Exp cards so you don't have to farm as hard. Money next because obviously you need it, but there are a ton of other ways to get money in this game. If you are selling your junk you get from dungeons and old equipment you should have a fairly steady cash flow. Additionally though the part time job at the coffee shop is a really good deal. You get a point in both courage and charm. Then they pay you 2500 yen. You also get big payouts for picking up the "Old Document" key items in each border room for the velvet room attendant. Needless to say I have never had any problems with money. I have bought really whatever I want and have over 50k set aside for whatever. I'm only just over a month into the game on hard.
@@elstormo Yes but in the early part of the game it really doesn't make a huge difference. You'll still finish off the enemies with ease. Better to save for the better upgrades that happen not too much farther into the game. Additionally the weapons you get from the 3 key chests are better than what you currently have available to you 98% of the time. Not knocking how anyone plays, but the way I see it, this is the optimal path.
Just one thing. I prioritize Arisato Minato's (main character's name in original authorized publication) equipment first since it's auto-Game Over in the Persona titles on Normal and up and I'm doing a Merciless run on FES, so I think its extremely critical to protect him
Thanks so much! One question. Do you need to manually change the Persona to be wearing the same arcana as your social link like in P5? Played the whole game (Royal) before I found out it gives you so many more musical notes. I was wondering why sometimes it was 3 or 2 instead of 2 or 1, lol!
Nope! The matching persona just have to be in your party but not necessarily as the ACTIVE persona. :) Actually... I know the actual number of musical notes isn't affected but the worth of each musical note is amplified. So for example, it can show you 1 musical note and let's say that was worth 5 bond points - if you have a matching persona, that one note can be worth 7 bond points instead. IIRC, that's how the matching persona system works :)
@@LoveIXTC Once you get the internet up and running, you'll be able to buy URL's from the club. IT does take a whole night to use a URL just heads up on that. The two URL's you can buy when that happens gives you four new drinks at the vending machine at the station and you can buy a new item at the store "cafe" you put that item in the fridge and you'll get something from it.
get spirit drain, a sword 3 card skill, from shuffletime. Duplicate asap. Later i believe mitsuru also gets it. You will only struggle your first time in tartarus.
Early game I would say do it early in the month, mid to later do it near the end of the month because people will start to go missing near the start of the next moon. Like I had a missing person with one day left to do it
Something you didn't mention is when you do those Tarturus runs, you should wait until a few days before the full moon because late game when people start getting lost in Tarturus, the latest they will be caught is three or so days before the full moon
A lot of tips from Persona 5 Royal bled over into this game, I see. :) I have made a vow to get the platinums in both versions of Persona 5 Royal again before touching this game, as I want to see if there is any cringy DLC to deal with. But I did buy the game on PS4 (since my PS5 has no disc slot) and will play it this year. ;)
in regards to this game itself if you get the sprit drain skill card tower runs are moot you can literally tank it with your protag even on merciless its really amusing to see most enemies waste there turns because they have no sp
nice!@@elstormo i got my mind through shuffle time and i think you can eventually get it as a planed chest reward or elizabeth quest but getting it that early certainly doesn't hurt! lol even more so if you combine it with drain boost yes it takes up 2 skill slots but up to 40 sp instantly is very debillitating on most normal enemies conversly i haven't tried life drain at all maybe boosted it heals lots might test it
I think the way it works is after introduced he just spawns randomly on any floor you spent 4-5 minutes on exploring out of combat. I don’t think the reaper will be that much of problem even if he does appear since he’s chases you slowly and by time he does appears you should’ve discovered the entire floor to get away with quick travel option to the next floor.
My first Tartarus run, I managed to get to the second portal room (floor 11), but I noticed that most players reach floor 14 in network tab. Is clearing 10 floors on first run good, or bad? How many should I aim to clear every time in Tartarus? Also, great video, thank you for making it!
Actually, it is quite doable on Normal difficulty. I was also able to do this on Hard myself. Merciless though, I understand is a whole different story hahaha It's really more for people who really wanna optimize their runs but people can also opt just to do what they can and just optimize on areas that are doable for them. :)

They spawn at specific times in the game. What I suggest is just look for them BEFORE your Tartarus day so you can visit every map and hunt for them in one go.
Does SP stack? Like I’ll notice a number next to my characters SP bars sometimes like one character is 3 and another is 7 does that mean how many I have filled? I’ve ran out and it doesn’t just fill back up some I’m not sure what that number is. Someone please help me.

The levels that prevent you from progressing further until you defeat the next full-moon boss. Its represented by a broken/incomplete staircase and your party saying something along the lines of "not being able to go up further"
Especially in the early game, it might be too expensive Twilight Fragment wise to spend on the clock. And since SP sodas are pretty cheap, its a good thing to have regardless of whether you use the clock or not :)
my tip for doing Tartarus, your best friends is base element spell both single and multiple, you can wipe enemy with all out attack even in late game, mid game im still have for example zio, mazio, and for boss zionga, in late game it compress to zio, ziodyne and other ability that way you get way more millage with each character mp pool, from mid game i can do the whole run in one go without sp potion, and if you unlock half mp cost for skill yukari you can get away with hp items as well, AI manipulation for Fuuka MP recovery can help you farm as well, she only check the party members that activate her, she have healing, mp recover, charge and concentrate, and buff, she usually go for the buff you missing at the moment so a character have full health and already have buff but low MP have a higher chance to get mp recovery.

instead of buying the vending machine drinks, I recommend getting spirit drain on one of your personas along with drain ability. With these two skills, you basically have infinite SP on the player character
Probably the best beginner tips I've seen 👌🏾
That's pretty much a staple, yes. There will also be persona skills that can help with that too.
I think they spawn at specific dates in the game.
Been 15 years since I played p3, so I appreciate the tips. I’m a little intimidated going in, compared to 15 years ago 😂
I don't think I'll memorize the whole thing but thanks for the video
Feel free to bookmark and just come back to it when you need :) Hope you enjoy your run!
Very informative.
The music is so good omg
Actually you want to buy one of each soda because it's a request for Elizabeth. not that it's hard or anything but just having it done already is nice.
If you find the spirt drain card early use it.
Allowed me longer runs without using sp items
That's a good tip! Plus duplicate it everyday in the shrine :)
You should have said "burn that bread", como on!
I wanted to! hahaha In hindsight, I should've just closed with that XD
You forgot to have matching persona arcanas during social links encounter.
The day you dont have a social link available with a matching persona to rank up.
The game does tell you that @leogi
once you are in your 20s those mad bulls arent worth it youd be better off just abusing invigorate and only using SP on MC than bothering with mad bulls if you struggle with having enough SP for tartarus runs.
Additionally for shuffle time you should definitely make the major arcana your top priority. I'd say focus should be more like;
Major Arcana's > Persona > Exp Cards > Money Cards
The major arcana give you big buffs for the rest of your time in Tartarus and if you get them all it increases the effectiveness of your shuffle time cards.
Don't forget though, that the power of your weapons also influences the damage your all-out attacks deal.
Armor is honestly still a valid strat. I guess that would just be a matter of playstyle differences then :) But good tip nonetheless!
Oh I agree, but I'm just saying that your weapon quality influences more than your regular attacks.@@PandaProhibited
Just one thing. I prioritize Arisato Minato's (main character's name in original authorized publication) equipment first since it's auto-Game Over in the Persona titles on Normal and up and I'm doing a Merciless run on FES, so I think its extremely critical to protect him
Nice tip!
Makoto Yuki is the official canon name in all other media (including the games), isnt Minato only in the manga?
@@happeth801 Yes
@@happeth801 I think the original names are better. Souji Seta over Yu Narukami
The game came before the manga so Makoto is the canon name
One of the illegal URL's gives the station two more sp restoring drinks. One of them is a party SP restore.
illegal url's?
@@LoveIXTC Once you get the internet up and running, you'll be able to buy URL's from the club. IT does take a whole night to use a URL just heads up on that. The two URL's you can buy when that happens gives you four new drinks at the vending machine at the station and you can buy a new item at the store "cafe" you put that item in the fridge and you'll get something from it.
@@LoveIXTCat club escapade! you can buy them from a shady dude on the corner
@@felipe505 thank u ❤️
Thanks a lot, Boss.
thanks for the tips
get spirit drain, a sword 3 card skill, from shuffletime. Duplicate asap. Later i believe mitsuru also gets it.
You will only struggle your first time in tartarus.
So what day would you recommend doing the first run to get it all done in like 1 try in the first month?
While I'm not 100% sure when the best day would be (I'm sure 100% social link guides will be up in other sources soon), we did ours in 4/21
Early game I would say do it early in the month, mid to later do it near the end of the month because people will start to go missing near the start of the next moon. Like I had a missing person with one day left to do it
Something you didn't mention is when you do those Tarturus runs, you should wait until a few days before the full moon because late game when people start getting lost in Tarturus, the latest they will be caught is three or so days before the full moon
Good tip! We'll consider making a late game tips guide if ever :) Thanks for sharing!
Good concise video 👍
As pro shin megami tensei you right need focuss on your persona some skill using hp or sp
A lot of tips from Persona 5 Royal bled over into this game, I see. :)
I have made a vow to get the platinums in both versions of Persona 5 Royal again before touching this game, as I want to see if there is any cringy DLC to deal with. But I did buy the game on PS4 (since my PS5 has no disc slot) and will play it this year. ;)
hitting enemies weakness? pfft, physical go brrr!
in regards to this game itself if you get the sprit drain skill card tower runs are moot you can literally tank it with your protag even on merciless its really amusing to see most enemies waste there turns because they have no sp
I got lucky on my first run with a skill change on Jack Frost (lv.8) that turned one of its skills into Spirit Drain, haha!
nice!@@elstormo i got my mind through shuffle time and i think you can eventually get it as a planed chest reward or elizabeth quest but getting it that early certainly doesn't hurt! lol even more so if you combine it with drain boost yes it takes up 2 skill slots but up to 40 sp instantly is very debillitating on most normal enemies conversly i haven't tried life drain at all maybe boosted it heals lots might test it
Can anyone explain to me how the Reaper timer works after his scripted appearance? I'd rather not have an instant death machine ruin my progress.
I think the way it works is after introduced he just spawns randomly on any floor you spent 4-5 minutes on exploring out of combat.
I don’t think the reaper will be that much of problem even if he does appear since he’s chases you slowly and by time he does appears you should’ve discovered the entire floor to get away with quick travel option to the next floor.
i wish i knew that zio tip before i started my first run on merciless difficulty 😅
Is twilight fragment appear on random or designated spot ? Do they respawn again after picking them up?
Designated spots in the real world. :) They don't respawn per se but rather new ones pop out at specific points in the calendar.
Thanks for the helpful video!
Which persona arcanas do I need for early social links?
I'll defer to the 100% social link guides but, based on our playthrough, it was Magician, Chariot, Strength, and Heirophant :)
How do you get rid of all the character's weaknesays?
Playing on merciless and haven't had a problem tho I've only beat the first moonlight boss and at floor 33?
Nice!
Just wondering, is merciless difficulty the same as the one in p5r? Like half your damage but triple weakness dmg
So, I'm going to try and play through the whole game with Orpheus, and I have 1 of each skill card on 4/21. Is that good?
I respect this as this is quite the challenge hahaha but yeah, if you wanna do an orpheus only run, having him learn all the weakness spells help :)
My first Tartarus run, I managed to get to the second portal room (floor 11), but I noticed that most players reach floor 14 in network tab. Is clearing 10 floors on first run good, or bad? How many should I aim to clear every time in Tartarus?
Also, great video, thank you for making it!
Get to the wall every run
Id say play at your own pace but if you wanna be super efficient, go to the highest point possible in a single run.
I love Mitsuru
Mitsuru = Queen
1:20 this is pretty much impossible though especially on a first playthrough, you’d need insane hindsight to do this especially on Merciless
Actually, it is quite doable on Normal difficulty. I was also able to do this on Hard myself. Merciless though, I understand is a whole different story hahaha
It's really more for people who really wanna optimize their runs but people can also opt just to do what they can and just optimize on areas that are doable for them. :)
Stupid question - but I can’t figure out how to use my skill cards… I can’t find in the menu where to locate and teach to persona
Look through your items and you can use it from there. :)
Does anybody know if there’s going to be an enhanced version? Similar to how P4 had golden. I’m just curious if I should buy now or wait.
Its a bit too soon to say but I theorize that there might not be one as Reload is already like a FES+ version of P3
They’re gonna sell the answer as dlc
this is basically a remake of an enhanced version already
@KeithElliott-zd8cx Check the Cutting Room Floor page for P3Reload
Strings for Expansion Pass and Episode Aigis ( FES content, aka Japanese name for "The Answer" ) was found
Looks like I didnt need these tips as a first time player but thanks anyway :)
How the hell are people doing Tartarus runs in one day?!
How do the Twilight fragments spawn? Are they a certain amount every full moon? Cuz they don’t respawn after i collected them all.
Each individual character has their own SP bar which depletes as you use it :)
Can you teach me where I can find a guide?? Lol
I've only played like 9 hours of P5 so far and that's the end of my persona knowledge.... so I'm gonna buy this and not follow any guides and see what happens lol that's kinda part of the fun
Oh absolutely! Enjoy the game! P3 is such a beloved entry in the franchise for me.
What do mean by boarder levels in the tartarus?
The levels that prevent you from progressing further until you defeat the next full-moon boss. Its represented by a broken/incomplete staircase and your party saying something along the lines of "not being able to go up further"
You barely even need SP items in this game with the healing clock
Great video! Just curious buuuut.. are you Filipino? 😁
Thanks! and yes! hahaha
Rushing through the tower will leave you with less levels, less money , less personas , less cards
That was my first persona game to play i played it first on PSP
Thank
Learn SP drain asap
Big tip: try to get victory cry, if it exists in reload 😂 most likely it does
thank god
It's good info for anyone new to Persona but these are just 'tips' They aren't 'advanced' in any way.
Caffein
Zeeo not zioh
Hi there. It's pronounced "Zeeo".
Oh is it?? Has there been like an video or something where they say the actual spell? I'm really curious to see!
Yeah, Mitsuru, Fuuka, Rise, Morgana and Futaba all pronounce it "Zeeo" when you scan enemies who have Elec weaknesses.@@UnGeekPH
Bruh you said advanced tips the game doesnt teach you but then Tip 5 is absolutely basic and taught by the game.
You're right XD I honestly, just felt the need to still mention it cuz I did see a bunch of friends try to brute force stuff and, when trying for a 1-day tartarus run, every SP really counts.
Burn your dread. 🫡
