Very nice battle report! I really liked your format and style for this. Really enjoyed the narration of the combat instead of focusing on dice rolls like other channels do. Story was set for the mission was very well done.
This is so good! Please consider going up to 2000 points and longer videos. I think this format would still suit bigger battles. More room for narrative goodness!
Thank you for the feedback, and I think you are quite right. Buuuut it is challenging to produce these batreps... and metrics wise, they aren't doing amazingly, so I've resigned to scale up the points slowly.
This is the way that battle reports should be. My only criticism would be to suggest spending more time talking through the unit upgrades in the beginning, both so we can have a better understanding of the battle, but also so we can more easily ogle the minis!
I LOVE THIS! Great story, awesome armies and I don’t have to listen or watch countless dice being rolled. The story is why we play. Keep up the good work. Captain Mustard must go in more missions!
Really like what you've got here. Looking forward to watching more and even wish there were more creators experimenting with this kind of "storytelling" through gameplay. My ask might be to replace "objectives" with some actual objectives. A cache of ammo, a terminal with some important data, a VIP or even just some civilians that need protecting/sacrificing/kidnapping/eating. Stuff like that would really make it feel like the battle is being waged over something(s) important. Thank you for making these videos whatever you decide to do, and I'm sure more thematic Warhammer events and ideas to play out will come to you as you experiment with the format.
That is a great suggestion. 10th edition's change to no longer allowing you to step on objectives does facilitate just that. Though I was leaning more towards, objective zone style objective markers with banners representing when they've been made sticky....🤔 Well... why not both.
Very nice battle report. Before I watch the whole thing, I predict the win will be by Colne- I mean CAPTAIN Mustard with a Power Sword on the Dark Apostle on the Enemy Objective.
Love the inclusion of a well thought out custom unit, honestly a Possessed Lord fits so well, even if a Daemon Prince is the "logical" step up from Chaos Lord. Also those Word Bearers are painted beautifully, love the contrast provided by the aqua green (I'm assuming) Aetheric energies. The Legends doc recently came out, and it seems Jump Lords are out, which is unfortunate for a friend of mine, who made a Jump Lord for his Night Lords last Ed. Am thinking of homebrewing a Jump Lord for 10th by using the Chaos Lord's profile and wargear options, just with a jump pack's movement and deep strike, replacing Chance For Glory with Hammer of Wrath, but with the name Vicious Descent as a nod to the 9th Ed CSM Stratagem with the same rule effect, and letting him lead Raptors instead of Legionaries or Chosen. And upping the cost by 20 (same jump from captain on foot to captain with jump pack) Thoughts?
Thanks, absolutely correct on the glowing runes btw!! On your thought process for the jump pack lord..... Yes I would do just that. I have a friend in a similar position with their Night Lords Chaos JP Lord and was essentially planning to do the same. Mirroring the loyalist JP ability while not as exciting will probably feel like the most tasteful way to go about facilitating it.
Hey WhatThe40k nice thematic battle report you make there, you know it was be cool if you make a 1000pt thematic battle report between Blood Axe Ork Clan vs Tyranids Hive Fleet Leviathan base on the Octarius War.
Good question! I am a slow painter, so the Word Bearers take quite a bit of time, but I've streamlined some things for the next wave I'm adding to the collection (contrast is a life saver).
Thanks for your generous super thanks! It's very much appreciated😊 To answer your question I would probably lean heavy into phobos units as they provide the kind of tool/flavor that is missing from the heretic Alpha Legion. After all the Phobos Captain is remains valid in 10th where the Alpha Legion Sniper lord does not (much like my possessed chaos lord) Another route is to build loyalist Alpha Legion as Death Watch, the option to field kill teams of elite operatives feels very Alpha Legion-y to me.😂

Indeed, everything you've identified is intentional to the format and I am happy to hear there is an audience able to appreciate it.😊
FOR THOSE WE CHERISH!
This is such a nice way to watch a battle report.
Glad to hear the content is appreciated😊

@@WhatThe40kI actually really enjoy the smaller battles as a new hobbyist, so no rush from me!
@@WhatThe40kThat's fair enough. Keep up the good content brother. You're doing awesome!

Thanks and valid point. I'll keep that in mind.
i love the Lamenters
Lamenters assembe!_!
MORE!!!
Can't wait to see a Siege scenario!
Iron Within!
I LOVE THIS! Great story, awesome armies and I don’t have to listen or watch countless dice being rolled. The story is why we play. Keep up the good work. Captain Mustard must go in more missions!
Glad you enjoyed it. I am sure, Captain Mustard will make a return!
Whoa, what an incredible paint job on those Word Bearer’s! Makes me wish I was playing them!
I loved this BR ! Very inspiring. Thinking about beginning a campaign soon. Videos like this help a lot
Great battle and Amazing paint jobs! Can't wait to see what forces will do battle next.
Love this format, keep it up. Would love to see Tyranids versus combined imperial forcers (guard and sm for example).
Thank you! And the request is noted! I am sure I can organize such a match up.
Amazing Batrep! The short time span fits in my day while I get ready in the morning or during lunch break. Keep these batreps up!

Awesome BR. It's always nice to see someone repping a successor chapter. And showing the datasheet for the Chaos Lord was very appreciated.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love it - great BatRep. Custom lord seemed cool and fair.
Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the battle report.
I like your style and that the batraps are short and easy to watch in one go!
Really loved the narrative format of the battle report! made it feel more lived in.

Word bearers look amazing! Also like the format.
Glad you like them! And the format too!

Thanks! Tyranids vs orks is definitely something I can do, though nobody in my FLGS has Leviathan proper. I guess Gengar will have to suffice😂
Awesome stuff! Love a good bit of Hombrew 😄
Me too!
Would love to see you do a crusade series
Man, these are so good! When are you making a playlist for them?
I've been meaning to do just that. 😅Thanks for the reminder!
Awesome Word Bearers and Lamenters too, approximately how long did it take to paint each one?
Good question! I am a slow painter, so the Word Bearers take quite a bit of time, but I've streamlined some things for the next wave I'm adding to the collection (contrast is a life saver).
Gorgeous armies👌
Love the video
How would you run a loyalist Alpha Legion 1000/2000 point crusade force? Anyway I enjoy these Battle Reps keep up the good work.

To add to what @WhatThe40k said, I think you would also want to make use of some heresy era vehicles too!
