Aa the new comers will never know the pain of being on half health and expected to fight to "bosses" in a row with what ever ammo you have left and zero healing.
He just single handedly filtered half the newcomer 😂 by him self The helicopter filtered the journalist and Balteus filtered the rest of the wannabe hardcore player😂
What’s balteus? I don’t remember that. Stop it. There is no balteus. On a serious note, I hate “stop the redguns” missions more than balteus tho. One was a skill issue, the other was a lesson in ammo economics.
From what I've seen, the game seems to have launched without any major glitches or holes in it, which is a rare thing with AAA games these days. That alone I feel should count for something when assessing the game.
Well since theirs no content besides 3 story lines, no player base, and no reason FOR their to be a player base it could be just because there not enough in the game to break. The PVP is a hole in and of itself.
A bit agitating people are comparing this to a souls game. I’m a souls veteran, I hopped into this game about two weeks ago not expecting a souls game and I absolutely love it. Just because it’s fromsoftware doesn’t mean it’s gonna be a souls game, literally look at the title. Currently on my ng++, reaching for the platinum
They make games with a passion and finesse unlike any other developer with their resources (which they earned themselves). As a result, I have come to relax and enjoy the experiences, regardless of differences. Went into AC6 with previous little knowledge of the old AC titles. Massive souls fan. I specifically did NOT want "mecha-dark souls". This game is brilliant.
As a soul player i thought im gonna breeze the entire game and then i noticed that theres no i-frame. And then i have to dump the clunky mentallity of soul like and realized that this not directed by miyazaki. And then i started to had fun playing this game
Old Gen here, I absolutely LOVE AC6. It's not supposed to be easy, admittedly I struggled at first and got clapped by the tutorial like 6 times. But once you figure out the battle tempo for each encounter, this game is really fun. Now to finish all the achievements and refine my skills for multiplayer!
Old Raven here too 🔥 That heli knocked me down so hard on my first try, my response was "OKAYYY that's how it's going to huh?" Wasn't taking the game seriously. Well...immediately changed whatever mind set I had and got right in there. "You wanna go!?"
@moonlight39echo same lol. I've been in the AC community since before dual analog sticks lol. I did get clapped by that damn chopper but then the gloves had to come off lol
Real talk, the game is easy. With the stagger system every boss in the game can be killed in under a minute without struggle. Multiplayer is unfortunately filled with elden trash and new players so I wish you luck, but I doubt you'll find enjoyment there
From soft is the only AAA developer right now that actually knows how to make a game with a clear vision and audience. So long as they continue to have clear design direction for their games I know they will continue to make some fantastic games.
@@Abb0abletbf we are painfully aware that the AC lore is just a contrivance to the Mech Game, its like Doom in that aspect, but hey the story is pretty fucking good.
I personally think monster hunter devs(capcom) knows how too since mh is like AC VI, its the same at the core but upgraded to fit the modern standard and become an entry point for new players and they have clear vision for how their games would be like
This is one of the more forgiving AC games too. I'd argue its _the_ most forgiving in the franchise. Previous AC's didn't have checkpoints, healing, the ability to assemble AC mid mission at a checkpoint if you die and try again then and there etc. If youre completely new, it definitely is overwhelming but keep at it and things slowly start to click. Its like driving a car for the first time. Hard and overwhelming af at first, then you drive the thing without thinking later as you gain experience.
It’s more forgiving but at the same time I would say harder than 4, 4A, V and a few others. IMO the hardest AC games were on the PS2. I thought AC2, Last Raven and Silent Line were all pretty hard games. I want to say Nexus as well but I barely remember that one.
Nah previous ac games had healing and checkpoints but only in long missions because most missions were quick to finish Example is ac 3 and ac silent line
souls fan here: i cam into AC6 with no expectations, and completely blind, and boy was it worth it. people saying it should be more like Dark Souls are just stupid, because it ISN'T Dark Souls, it's Armored Core. as for you older gen AC fans, i can't speak for you guys, but give the game a chance.
I honestly like it more that way, cause that means the games are actually finished on release, and we dont get another cyberpunk experience. Never happened with FromSoft, but I want them to keep it that way💀
Honestly 6 feels closer to old gen than 4th and 5th gen did, it's like it standardized the game to be what old gen could've been had they had the skill to code like this back in the 90s. It's also just about as long as any of the other games. Personally I'm hoping for an expansion with more parts. AC6 left me wanting more, and not in a "there wasn't enough" kinda way but in a "there can never be enough to fuel my mecha addiction" kinda way.
I kinda want a DLC that's just a huge mission pack with no real story. Like the campaign from a Battletech game. Specifically the ones that are modded to be completely sandbox style. That, or a DLC that's just AC1 in this game engine. Don't even update the maps. Re-use the same PS1 voice acting.
For me who has played all the games and waited the 11 years for a new armored core, AC6 is such a breath of fresh air. It pushes more on being itself than nostalgia bait, and I am happy that it is difficult. Armored Core was never supposed to be a easy game.
If the camera/lock worked it would be an easy game. Due to the game being deliberately nerfed your second playthough is easy. You are intended to die until you figure out all the little gimmicks of the big bosses meaning survival is 'just keep trying' rather than skill. If the bosses are designed to exploit a problem system the devs left in there to create challenge..... it is not a 'difficult' game but a broken one.
@@nexusdrop7863 "You are intended to die until you figure out all the little gimmicks of the big bosses meaning survival is 'just keep trying' rather than skill." ??? Getting confronted w/ a new mechanic or hurdle and figuring out ways to deal w/ said mechanic doesn't count as skill? Damn, ig every video game doesn't take skill then. Also what do you mean by "If the camera/lock worked it would be an easy game."? Edit: By your "figure out all the little gimmicks" statement, do you mean the rock-paper-scissor nature of swapping to a different build? Your point isn't very clear on that.
@@QDRG64 Best example of 'gimmicks' is how the bosses enter a new stage with completely new attacks that basically require you to stop doing what you were doing. Your first time you have no idea what is happening and tend to die before you can figure it out. Follow that with how the bosses always fly PAST you so you have to fight the camera. Point being Fromsoft designed the game around knowing the gimmicks rather than being skilled enough to survive. As for how bad the camera/lock is: there is a video going around about how lock -reduced - accuracy by about 30% extra, to 50% total. Dude was doing range tests and noticed it. I noticed several times enemies would literally dodge as you pressed the fire button, meaning automatic dodge (cheating). You time the second shot to be in the brief window of pause when they dodge. Skipping that you have to fight the camera all the time. Lock, even when it is almost dead center (I mean that literally) , keeps jumping to new targets all the time. If keeping the target right in the middle of the screen is not enough then the issue is the mechanic not skill. To further that one you NEED to buy the boost turn skill, which is not only something you have to BUY but only available way too far in the game for such a necessary 'tool' for the game. Due to that mechanic being needed is why it takes no energy from your pool - you are supposed to use it A LOT. As far as the 'skill' of learning a new gimmick.... once you do there is no challenge. 2nd playthough was a joke, 2nd last boss easier than the 1st. Suddenly all the 'hard' bosses were dead in less than 1 minute. Not due to skill but that part of the gimmick was you had crap weapons. The game was designed around core functions not working. You find the game enjoyable because you are used to games having gimmicks. That is fine but is an argument of tedious instead of skill. Waiting 30 seconds for the boss to magically change/revive is not a skill aspect.
When that dude was saying "They should have focused on the melee, a big two handed claymore" etc etc. Go play Elden Ring then if you want them to just make a mech themed Elden Ring.
As a newcomer to Armored Core (loving all mech related media but having never payed attention to ac until the trailers for this one) I absolutely love AC6. I can also see why veterans specifically feel like it falls short between general balance gripes, reliance on stagger, and the fewer parts. Looking at AC6's development however, it kinda becomes clear that they didn't even go all in with this one. This essentially started as a demo in house to revive AC while Elden Ring started development. The team before release wass basically split between Shadows of the Erdtree and this. AC6 as amazing as it is to me, looks like they were just testing the waters. Adding a new entry to see if there's still life in the Mech genre. I think that the good reception this game has been getting is just setting the groundwork for a future of AC as interest continues to grow on it. I have a lot of respect for FromSoft so I also believe that many of the core issues people have with AC6 will be heard and expanded on in maybe an AC6: B so to speak or AC7. I hope at least that there is a long future of ac games. It may not stay the same and will try to change things (for better or worse, like stagger) its going to bring in a lot more people to see and support more games in the franchise and I'm proud to be along for the ride (as late as I am to it).
There won't be an AC7 for a long time, probably not till the next console generation and this one is just starting. What we WILL probably see are 2 more expansion titles of AC6 that build additional options and complexity into the game, new parts, re-balanced parts, new multi-player options, and settings wildly different from Fires of Rubicon. Honestly what makes the most sense for the next game is a Prequel set on Rubicon when it was a vibrant place that is more like the original Armored Core settings. Personally, I hope they move away from the Post-Apocalyptic stuff and start getting back into either a Pre or Post Catastrophy setting where either they're heading for some kind of collapse (Like the Fires of Rubicon) or they've fully built a new functional but cyberpunk dystopian society that is constantly being upended by corporations finding pre-Catastrophy super weapons and tech.
Development was not split. Fromsoft always have multiple teams working on separate projects, with AC6 being in development since before Sekiro came out.
The issue is armored core is a very niche game. The mech genre simply doesn’t have the same appeal as the fantasy genre does. Which is totally fine with me. Armored core 6 is in my top 3 games this year. Fromsoft has impressed me once again.
Thankfully, you are somewhat wrong on Steam charts, AC6 demolished DS3/Sekiro peak player counts, and is Fromsoft's 2nd best launch ever outside of Elden Ring, and I don't think that's just because of Elden Ring besides, mecha is niche because the genre is so damn inconsistent with quality, be it games, anime, movies, comics, etc. I've seen many, many people be turned into mecha fans because of AC6, which is a very good thing to me and I think AC6"FA" or AC6.5 will probably kick absolute ass
@@KatcriEN cant wait the the inevitable expansion to AC6. every armored core gets an expansion and fromsoft would be a fool not to make one for one of their best selling games ever.
@@Drbeattles Bandai Namco's CEO already announced before the launch of AC6 that they plan to continue the IP I think, for the most part, there's nowhere for them to go after Elden Ring outside of the DLC, so I'm pretty sure they'll be switching focus to AC for awhile especially after these insane numbers "AC6.5" might even be proper DLC lmao, who knows personally I hope that, if there's only one DLC, I hope it's a VD-esque FreQuency album with them at their best AC6's soundtrack is very good, but only 2-3 songs really have that AC charm to them
I'm one of those old AC boomers (most active during the AC3/SL days), and AC6 feels a lot like those games to me. It's faster like AC4, but manages to avoid the pitfall of being so fast everything kind of felt the same to play (so you might as well just build a heavy). I can see where they made concessions to appeal to a more casual crowd, but none of that broke the experience for me. At its heart it's old-school AC, and I love it for that.
the words "FromSoft" and "Casuals" dont really go well together💀 thet being said, I still had quite a hard time on some bosses, and I am not new to FromSoft games at all. I found the game pretty hard, which I liked.
@@saftigerkeks5212 I mostly meant things like simplifying AC design from how it is in earlier games and loosening the early game economy. The missions and encounters are still suitably hard.
Played AC 1 through 4 with all the ones in between (never played 5). This game is hands down more forgiving. You can fail missions multiple times without going negative on funds, no Human + "Imma shitty player" mode, you can now swap assembly and builds mid game at checkpoints after death to tune yourself to the boss. Also, AC6 is hands down amazing. Great Armored Core title.
Something I realized while playing the game is that the original armored core has you dealing with far more strenuous situations. Dealing with enemies was rarely difficult but trying to conserve your limited resources and reduce expenses was the real challenge. The first AC truly felt like you were a struggling mercenary trying to make ends meet. I wish they had leaned into that side a little more instead of just having more and more difficult enemies. However fromsoft knows what they are doing by tapping into the souls-like energy that made them a success. I’m fine with this compromise as long as long as it’s done well and it means that more people get into this genre. It’s still a very fun game, so I’m still surprised so many people have been hating on it like this.
Yamamura said he likes that too but he’s afraid that the debt system would scare off every newcomers so he hold back on that front. Maybe we’ll see its return in AC6.2
Why ruin the genre just to get more people into it. Retain what made Armored Core great and simply promote it more. Fk Dark Souls and all the toxicity it brought to AC. I'd send dark souls fans straight to the Gaza strip for their influence on AC's development, respectfully.
on the upside of the debt system the games have something to counter it energy weapons never cost you anything to fire but generator power and ammo (yes THEY ARE FREE technically speaking) but this is absent since AC4-AC6 where energy weapons now cost something to fire, and if ever you want to recoup costs there's always the arena which is not exactly "efficient" when it comes to income but that depends on how fast you deal with arena opponents which is why when you finally got the Karasawa in AC1 you instantly become rich since ammo costs shouldnt be a factor in your build this still largely remains true in MoA
@@xowrldofartbecause more people gets into it means more games for everyone, you DO realize the entire community doesn’t just consist of you, at least not anymore right?
Honestly I have complaints about the game, but as I’ve told my friends. If you look at the game on its own, it’s very good. Of course there are systems I miss from previous armored cores such as the ability to blow limbs off and some others, but I believe that this game is really good. I was so scared they were gonna make it a souls like since that’s every game they’ve made since like 2011
the thing i figured about AC that it changed drastically each isntallment, ive read this from a reddit making a tier list of the franchise just to see comments its really based on players subjective experience.
Yes, it felt awkward at first, but then the harder bosses like broke me in, and I started getting faster, dodging more, jumping around, and boost kicking. Like, when you understand the movement and feel the momentum flinging yourself around kicking ass, it is just fun. And the customization is pretty nuts too. Story is a different but refreshing. Never thought I would care about the backstories of characters who I only know through emblems in the corrupt world. Different and refreshing these days.
Question, why don't the armored core's have flares or any other kind of missile defense system. Is there a reason in lore or is it just cause of game play?
It's crazy how wildly the milage varies on this game. It's my first armored core game and I'm absolutely in love with it, I have no Idea how you can fly around doing the most gangster shit ever and have a bad time.
On my second playthrough now, and it's the second AC game I've played (first was 4). Game is fun, but I definitely have my gripes about it. Idgaf what the loser ass gatekeepers who've played every game sitting in their mother's basement for 20 years or so, but I personally think that some of the bosses have bullshit levels of health that drag the fight a like 5 minutes too long unless youre using stupid builds (Sea Spider and SMART CLEANER in particular) , and that I find it bad that a fair bit of bosses in this game have bullshit hard to dodge giant FU laser attacks that deal like 4k AP (Sea Spider, Arquebus Balteus, off the top of my head, because I haven't done every ending yet). Camera sucks too at points, but that's probably the fault of fromsoftware using the same engine for almost every game they've made. Definitely gonna keep playing though, wanna see what extra content's are there
@@zacheryeckard3051 I beat Balteus after the 4th try. Unironically my favorite boss. The first pulse gun you unlock, JVLN Alpha, songbirds, and normal missile, with the Nachtreiher parts.
@@wilfredwayne7139 the normal missions are cakewalks, AC fights are generally fun (except for trying to kill general michigan, I actually gave up after the 10th try) and decided to kill the arquebus mfs, and boss fights are mid as fuck.
I went from AC1 to AC6 lol, for me it really is a nostalgic game. To me almost everything feels like an upgrade for obvious reason. I like the game, only complaint i have is i originally thought it was gonna be open world and honestly would have been a nice touch cause i really just want to explore their world but besides that im having fun. At the moment im stuck at fight Raven
The only *real* complaint I really have is I miss the UNAC system from AC:Verdict Day. I loved working on my little AI helper core. I can see why it was left out as it has no place in the story (unless they wrote it in), but it was fun to set the UNAC to "my" build and see what it's like going against my own AC. Or if i'm in a dual trigger dakka dakka build, I can build my UNAC out as the support tank to cover me. Anyways, that's pretty much the only major "missing feature" I missed.
@@samuraigaming3042yeah there was a whole system to program yoir own AI partner with whatever parts you had. Then you could bring it with you to train it's AI like an amiibo from smash. Eventually some of them could be so good they would beat bosses all on their own
@@HunterForHire422 Honestly the closest we get is that little help we get from Ayre in the True Ending's final boss fight but it would be cool if in DLC they made it possible to take AC Pilots that we're in good standing with as our optional UNACs for each mission. With the True Ending being the hardest because you don't have any of them except for Ayre who would get ECHO early in this case but I understand why UNACs couldn't come back because it would undermine the longer mission structure a bit.
Damn, if only this was a thing in oldgen. MTs that I hire as consorts in AC3 eventually upgrade to an AC which I can hire too, so I guess it's close enough.
I feel sorry for those that can't beat the helicopter, its super easy. And if they say its to hard, their is probably a disable person out there playing this game no problem. God damn I have like the highest respect towards disable gamers that play from soft games or any fast paced games in general. I'm on new game+ and for the most part been having a blast. I never really had that much difficulty with the bosses, besides needing to change one gun in my loadout to beat said boss. Though the most difficulty i had with a couple of bosses was, A: learning i can fly in this game, and B: I need to be more aggressive. Or at least my build is built around being super aggressive. I never understood players that look up the best builds in a game when it's their first time playing it. Only time I can understand that is when playing a PVP game... but a PVE game seriously. Why look up op builds? that literally takes the fun out. I think these people should stay in their competitive pvp games.
@@Padlock_Steve Yo gimme some advice, I'm stuck on Balteus now. I'm pretty sure I'm using the bubble gun you're talking about, but I just can't seem to dodge his goddamn missiles.
I loosely dabbled in souls, sekiro, and elden ring. Their genres were my personal favorites. Mechs don't rate as high on the list...but. this game has something to me man. Not sure what it is. In my opinion, it's perfect.
As an old AC player, I only have one gripe, and it was the same gripe I had about five...I just want to use my Blader Core. But eh. Other than that? It's everything I'd expect in a newer fromsoft game, and a wonderful breath of fresh air into one of my favorite series of all time. People just get filtered, and if it's not your gig, then it's not your gig, simple as.
@@---bl3sr I have! And it is fun, which is why I don't complain about it too much. I just miss having dual blades and blitzing toward my target at Mach Jesus
Blading builds were only a 4A thing, really. Since they were stupid OP in that title. Super fun though. But also kind of glad it's not like that anymore. Because cheesing my way through the campaign with just a default Aaliyah and a blade felt like using cheat codes. Fun at first, but then it just gets boring because it makes the game trivial.
Because a lot of Souls players themself use "Git Gud" in the wrong context. A lot them use it in terms of "yeah you suck at the game, but i don't want to help/tell you how to get better at the game, even though thats not the meaning of "Git Gud" .
i love how the crazy powerful super weapons from ac5 made a comback in ac6 when Rusty was sniping the iceworm, the same chargeup and audio malfunction is just so sick, especially when you see it for the first time
I'm an armored veteran. Played AC2 as a 10 year old and been hooked ever since. AC6 is perfect . It's a perfect fusion of all the armored cores. 2(3) 4(4A) and 5(Vday) I was really worried. But they nailed it. Also. Hard mode in this game is finding a mech that speaks to you then making that thing work with as few changes as possible. (Like having a blade build and just changing your blade for the boss, thats what i did. Worked on Balthious) you do not have to change for boss. Just like in sekiro you brute force the game by getting good. Also a really strong tip. Play this on pc with a gaming mouse that has at least two side buttons. Solves all of the control issues. Since I'm a veteran of AC the idea of target assist mode was laughable to me. Half the difficulty of those games is lining up your shots. But then I found out that target assist nerfs your shots and I thought that was the funniest silent buff to old AC players I'd heard of in this game.
I disabled hard lock immediately before I knew that. When I found out about pure manual aim I was happy, because I had seen projectiles collide several times. So you can probably shoot down missiles
This game is easier than elden ring. Checkpoints galore, no punishment on death. Still manages to be difficult in all the right areas (I like how the runs to the boss are like small battles against cannon fodder) Such a breath of fresh air
honestly, i was disappointed they didn’t go with Sekiro’s death punishment in ER. the whole “go get your souls back” thing has become nothing more than a chore. and especially in an open world, it actually would work against it, as some people would get so wrapped up on trying to get their xp back, that they wouldn’t go elsewhere when clearly they weren’t prepared for a certain area yet. that’s one “souls” mechanic that i wish “souls likes” would stop reusing. it was interesting at first. but once you’re used to it, and especially once you know to always spend your xp, or you hit that point where you don’t want to level anymore, then it doesn’t even matter if you pick them up. now in sekiro, where’d you’d just permanently lose xp and cash? yeah, that hurt. you’d even buy money bags for more than they were worth just to save your money. it forced you to think and be smart about HOW you dealt with your money, not just WHEN you spent it. …but even in AC, you still can be punished for doing poorly in a mission now- even getting a negative payout from a mission. who knows, maybe a dlc will bring back debt into AC? but yeah, you currently still have to worry about ammo costs, and penalties etc on missions.
Its because AC is a completionist game. Its more about S ranking missions and making different builds that can do so. Not so much about getting through the game initially like Elden ring.
The difficulty spikes make elden ring look completely pathetic lol. its more struggle in a single chapter (at least for a biped purist) than it took for me to beat elden ring twice, with a vanilla str build. unless you're one of those wheelchair tank build freaks that claim is completely disingenuous
@@mkv2718 Yamamura has expressed interest in bringing back debt. I think given this game has us with a fairly heavy handed handler rather than just a liason, it makes sense were saved from going into genuine debt. I'd like that an expansion like silent line or for answer would see us be a true mercenary on our own to justify bringing debt back.
I'm a newcomer to the Armored Core series as of a few months ago and I heard about the release and kind of forgot about it up until last weekend when I decided to buy it on a whim. This game in my opinion has been some of the best $60 I've ever spent. I'm a long time player of the souls series, I mean from Demon's Souls on the PS3 to Elden Ring and everything in between and without a doubt this feels like FromSoft at its peak in terms of development and ideas and passion for their work. I think for a lot of people who only had only recently got into the Souls-like genre at DS3 or more likely even Elden Ring, they want that fix and gameplay loop offered by Elden Ring and DS3 rather than what Armored Core 6 and the series behind it has to offer. They buy in expecting Elden Ring style combat and boss encounters because that's all they know FromSoft for and that's what a lot media outlets and TH-camrs pedaled the idea of. Overall, I think the game is absolutely fantastic, I just %100 the game today and I have to say it's definitely a breath of fresh air from not only the Souls formula but the whole Open-World genre and formula as a whole. People have become to reliant on what they expect to see in a game and for a lot of people it's really hard to appreciate something new/different. I don't know but that's just my two cents! Also obligatory edit: I think the gatekeeping of Souls fans and the 'toxicity' of the community through things like 'git gud' is vastly blown out of proportion. Most of the community is really chill and for the most part genuinely helpful and overall the vocal minority in this case needs to be ignored :) We can all enjoy these games for the artform they really are and toxicity and gatekeeping as a whole only leads to suffering as a whole.
for sure, AC isn't dark souls and the fact that a lot of these people think that it should be just goes to show that the people the game is attracting isn't really its target audience also the fact that dark souls players got a rep for being toxic really kinda sucks because i know first hand that the vast majority of the people are actually super chill and just looking through the comments and seeing how many people just have a disdain for the series because of the players is sad becuase they probably wont expeience the game for what it is
how to delete these vocal minority in real time? This pisses me off too since this is also my first intro to ac series and I think these people just want to groan because they have the privilege to moan and groan in the social media. Take the internet away and let see how these righteous bastards cry in solitude without anyone to give them attention lol.
I've never done either AC nor Souls games before. With AC6, I'm halfway through it and love it so far. Yeah, certain specs are needed for boss fights, but I'm good with it. Since I'm enjoying this series, do you recommend I start playing the Souls games? Was thinking of picking up the remastered version of the first game and work my way up.
Can say as a soul player that tutorial boss was annoying and difficult, but that is just the fromsoftware formula. I like armor core and find it pretty fun so far and now at the final boss. Been enjoying the laser weapons and find them fun.
I’m a souls and ac veteran and I like this it’s got ac V hud I find a little annoying at times but it’s got the feeling of AC 4 but so far the story depth is getting deeper so that is good I hope there’s more FCS and parts in general to get other then what I’ve already gotten.
@@damianstarks8974 nice one, I wish you luck in your S ranks. I did quite a few my self just trying out builds and such. Makes it a tad bit fun, i didn't expect to use the Jailbreak BASHO parts as much as i did
I did that and hectic is a understatement I think I eventually broke it’s ai because it just stepped into a wall and right as I got it to being almost dead it seemed to have given up.
As a souls fan, I find AC VI to be fun to play. The action is super fast-paced: both the bosses and the player are constantly dodging, firing, flying and trying to overwhelm each other. The need to adapt your build to counter enemies is similar to DOOM: Eternal's strive to use the full arsenal of weapons. 10/10
As a member of the old armored core games (Armored core 2 - armored core VD), I thoroughly enjoyed this game, I know that chemical (explosive), thermal (energy) and kinetic damage are still prevalent in this one but it's not as prevalent as it was in armored core 5 and VD which is one thing I was happy about with this one, this game was very challenging in the beginning, especially balteus but as I got better that the game things just got easier and easier, especially after I managed to nail my own mech build down, I don't see what all the hate is for this game, it's a fantastic fresh (kinda) perspective to the series and helped me feel a sense of nostalgia in regards to the AC series
I think a lot of people are mad at this game because they can't just cheese it from the get-go. People I know that hated Dark Souls but like Elden ring all play the same way, they use glitches and meta builds to beat the game. Elden ring gives you the ability to get whatever you want as soon as you exit the door if you have guides. But in Armored Core you actually have to earn everything and like a real mercenary you have to prove yourself with what you have before you get to the good shit. It's like people forgotten how to play games.
people became "fromsoft fans" and thought they would enjoy AC just cuz like they like Elden Ring. AC was never meant to be for anyone other than it's own target audience, it's supposed to be niche.
So basically Souls community: NOT ENOUGH LIKE SOULS Old AC community: NOT ENOUGH LIKE OG AC Boy i sure feel bad for AC6 Good thing i had no expectations and love the game for what it is
I loved AC3 and I think AC6 is soo good. The ACs operate like they did in the trailers for the old games lol. The one thing I wish we had were some missions that were more like a grueling assault on heavily fortified positions. The number of enemies are pretty light even in the big fights you rarely had a real need for mass multi-lock or weapons of large scale destruction when my laser rifle could tap tap tap and one shot mobs.
@@dakota9821 Saving ammo has hardly been a problem in this game tho. The only time I ran out of ammo is when I tried to cheese the Ibis fight by using Carlas load out.
I’ve never played an armored core game in my life, and armored core is sooo awesome, it’s a full combination of all previous FromSoftware titles, it’s the best mech game I have ever played
I honestly love the game, the music, the graphics, the voice acting, etc. This feels like a really good modern day representation of what a Mech game should be. Dont get me wrong i love the older games. Started in the Armored Core 1 era days, when it came on a demo from a Game Informer magazine. Played just about any and all i could get my hands on, minus the handhelds. Each generation had its growing pains, just like any game that spans over a multitude of years. I mean this release could be in a worse shape, i havnt seen any game breaking bugs, missing textures, etc. Just look at how horrible it could have gone ala Starfield.
First off, hello fellow AC vet. You are absolutely right. Other then a few crashes here and there that people have reported, you are not getting any....Fall Out or Cyber Punk moments with this game. Its kinda wild how people arent talking more about..man..this game just works out the gate. Even tho I just had a major crash literally a few moments ago, i blame that more on my rig. PC is almost 13 years old and STILL able to run Ac6 with Ultrawide support. A lot of unappreciated work goes into doing all that.
The only two bugs I've heard of is a weird interaction between tank tracks, shields and some heavier weapons and then some ragdolls like heavy MTs getting stuck in walls if hit hard enough.
@@TriloGStudio I too was surpised by how well AC6 works. My pc spec is well below minimum req, but I still preordered the game because goddamit I was waiting for it for so long. During the first playthrough I've had like 2 or 3 crashes, and other than having 7fps in AC assembly there were no issues.
This was my first introduction to armored core, after playing some fromsoft games. I love how much more dynamic and three dimensional the bosses feel with ranged combat, with other fromsoft games ranged combat always felt like an afterthought and dumbed down. The easy ac customization to overcome challenges too hard for you is also a nice system, compared to the more locked in approach of souls games
People heard From say that they'd taken what they learned from the success of Dark Souls and their other games like it and applied it to this game, and assumed they meant they'd made Robo Elden Ring. They didn't; they simply meant that some of the direction in how the have is put together and how it works is inspired by DS.
AC vet here, played since AC1 (though didn't play For Answer). This game felt like a perfect blend of the classic AC gameplay with some new tweaks to the formula. I think AC6 is a wonderful addition to the AC series as a fresh take on the gameplay and feel. Comparing it to Elden Ring and Dark Souls is a stupid point: You're not playing as a nimble human-like being, you're piloting a MECH. Mechs aren't going to be jumping around slashing swords and swinging hammers and whatnot like a human character. Mechs are going to shoot guns, missiles, lasers, and all sorts of weaponry like that, and move a bit clunkier, even with using boost, because of their nature. Trying to compare it to Elden Ring is like trying to compare a lime to a lemon. Both are citrusy fruits from the same family, but have different flavors to them which let them be their own separate thing.
The movement in the game is definitely more fluid with less 'weight' when landing and turning. Some AC vets may not enjoy it but the newer polish to bring the game up to date was needed when you compare it to games other games available not just mech games.
I guess, but most of the AC builds are faster relative to their size than even light Elden Ring builds. Some of the AC builds break mach 1 just DODGING.
The problem with AC6 is that these idiots 1. Refuse to evolve to new game mechanics and 2. Because just because is a from soft game they play it as if its elden ring with mechs instead as if its arnor core6. With that said this is the most fun i had in a game in a long time.
I feel ya. I think it was a satire, but i felt the clip was perfect because I had plenty of people just in my local play group pretty much asking the same. They really wanted Mecha Souls.
As someone who started the series with armoured core 2 and has played every entry into the series, I have no idea what these fools are talking about, this is the best armoured core game by a country mile, the most refined and fun, and it has by far the best story in the series (possibly one of the best that from software ever conceived of). The fact that it has the most mainstream appeal is just icing on the cake; for those of us who have been around since project phantasma and the like, we can feel it in our bones that this is it. We're home! It feels good to pilot an AC again.
Watching somelne say they should have given a giant robot a claymore reminded me that on the internet, all opinions have an equal chance to be shared. And most are wrong.
The only thing i found somewhat lacking about this game was the limited amount of kinetic projectile weapons, like a slower gatling/chain gun for the shoulder or some non laser sniper or heavy assault rifle (The ingame assault rifles need a buff bad to begin with, and while the linear rifles are nice, they are still sub-200 meter effective vs ACs). But outside that, few things that i can complain about, i hope we get some more parts with DLC or anything in the coming year. Also, not gonna lie, i just miss my MARVE and MOTORCOBRA.
@@kybalion5205 Id say we have an okay amount of plasma/laser/pulse weaponry, and missiles/explosives, but when it comes to plainly kinetic projectile weapons, it's kind of lacking as it stands. The only shoulder launched kinetic weapon so far is the needle launcher. (not to mention the complete lack of kinetic melee weapons aside from the ashmead)
some weapons like pistols also have absurdly low ammo counts and you really have to hit your shots or you can run out during a single bossfight. That combined with their range being even lower than zimmerman for some reason. And what is really weird is explosive weapons already being kinda op due to their impact but they're also sort of the only weapons viable at longer ranges.
What's really weird too is that AC4 was such a different game to what AC1-3 represented, so when talking about 'old' AC fans we're looking at 3 different groups. "Classic AC", which picked up Armored Core and managed to fall in love with the old clunky controls. "Modern AC" with the people who joined in through AC4 and got spoiled by the game's speed and fluidity and are typically catered to by games like Project Nimbus and Daemon X Machina. And the "misled generation" that got an entirely different picture of what AC represents compared to its past titles, kinda like the people whose first experience with Front Mission was the Front Mission Evolved game.
The AC6 Tutorial boss is painfully easy as well, you just have to use the stick dash and hit it twice in the face with the sword. fall; back, top up stun meter with your ranged, and then stick charge it in the face again. The Stick-charge (sorry I don't know the name, you push the left stick in and you zoom to the face of the helicopter) you don't even have to manually fly to it, the stick-charge takes you there. It's so easy, takes less than a minute to beat,. Ofc, if these players are trying to kill it with ranged,, then this is where they are having problems. This fight is designed to teach you specific skills, to prepare you for the game (or at least that's how it feels to me) if you don't use the correct move pattern on him, you probs won't ever beat it. I think AC6 is pretty similar to Sekiro, TBH. the stun meter, especially.
Gen 2 and 3 Raven here and I absolutely love 6. The story and gameplay are incredibly engaging, if anything is wrong with the game it isn’t the bosses or overall design and feel it’d be that there’s some weapon balancing issues that could be addressed. Much of the game had me quite literally at the edge of my chair trying to focus and it was incredibly fun to overcome the challenges. Easily a 9/10 game for me and my GOTY; the more I see of the poor reviews and bad takes the more it seems to be from Idk almost newer Elden Ring fans, not quite like older Souls or just From Soft fans in general, who expected a game AC should probably never be or 4a fans who expected “4a: The Sequel: Redux: Part 2”.
I’ve never felt such adrenaline rushes during some of AC 6’s bosses… Balteus, the Sea Spider, and Enforcer especially. I was so on edge that after overcoming them I was like “… WOW …!” It felt so good, but was definitely pretty insane. This game has proven excellent to me so much lol
Literally this. As a 3rd gen guy, this game feels like what those epic intro cinematics looked like. It feels like what AC always wanted to be. Only problem is some weapon balancing, like dual gatling guns being stupid OP. And almost all the complaints are from newer Elden Ring type players. Of all the ones he showed, only one was an AC vet (and probably just a 4a guy). The rest either directly mentioned Elden Ring/Dark Souls, or people complaining about gameplay elements that have been a part of AC since 1. But not really present in those titles.
@@joevaghn457 balteus especially had me on edge and focused, after a bit I wasn’t even dying to him I was just restarting the fight whenever I took damage that I knew how to dodge. After idk like 15 tries I admitted to myself that my build just wasn’t going to work, went back to the garage, remembered the pulse gun and realized it countered his shield, remembered that the regular missiles I was using were mostly missing and equipped plasma missiles instead, and then just melted him on the second try after that. I cheered a bit because I learned the fight enough to not really get hit and made a better build, then I promptly flipped balteus off because that’s what he deserves.
@@seventh-hydra there being a weapon imbalance is a little tricky and it’s definitely the only real issue with the game and it isn’t a huge issue exactly; there are a decent amount of combinations that work very well but some of the weapons are just...harder to use effectively. Some of the weapons are just better by their nature in relation to how the game wants you to play, it very much wants you up close and personal so something like the Zimmerman’s are going to do super well whereas the linear rifles don’t really have enough difference in range to make up for the loss of damageor even the gatlings are good because there’s so many bullets that even outside of effective range you’re still dealing some damage and stagger. There were always kinda OP setups but ammo limits and costs prevent people from running them all the time on everything, without that I’m not sure they exactly knew what to do. Which is fine, many other builds are useable; I think they’re just getting back into the swing of things since they haven’t made an AC game in so long and are trying new things which might take some time to get a handle on. Still a fantastic time, I’m going through ng++ now and I’ve specifically been trying to run more tailor made builds for missions and bosses.
@@DBDThePartyProbe Gen 2+3 here as well and currently in my 4th playthrough of 6. talking balance i'd say it's honestly whatever when it comes to PvE, but when it comes to PvP there are a few issues (not that i'm really into PvP myself): shotguns (most prominently the zimmerman), coral weapons and the stun needle launcher are all kinda OP, but there's also the fact that light AC's have little advantage over heavy ones. i mean, back in the day we had turn speed, now even tanks have this quick turn, and the assault boost makes it almost impossible for a light sniper to stay away from a heavy brute.
Some games are far more expressive and interactive in only one dimension. I think the real reason Bandai Namco is excited about continuing Armored Core (CEO stated in his latest interview), is because they are getting different buyers. You can take the same people's money so many times and then only so often. But cutting into a new market is exceedingly difficult. To be able to expand your playerbase in multiple directions or even dimensions is obviously an incredible success for Bamco
I'm from the Souls community and I only found out about Armored Core a year or so before the trailer for 6, I was excited for 6 but a little worried I wouldn't like the game. I'm really happy to say that worry was unfounded and every second of my AC6 playthroughs were just an absolute joy and even got me interested in more mech stuff, which I had very little interest in before I guess Fromsoftware doesn't miss for me, I haven't played a single game they've made that I haven't enjoyed, I'm even probably gonna go back and play older AC games because the AC4 games look really interesting to me
What is your source for knowing about it a year before it was even announced? It was only confirmed *with* the trailer you're talking about in December of last year...
@@buttscarlton1490 No I mean I only found out about the series's existence and then about a year after that the first trailer for Armored Core 6 was shown
@@MrMykse but they didn't turn it into a Souls like? From what I've seen in the comments of this video some of the AC vets have said that AC6 feels like AC3, as well as taking notes from AC4 and AC5. I don't know why some of you guys insist it's a Souls like just because there's a hard lock-on as well now and Bosses.
Bananas (and kind of justice) that the souls community who supposedly love a challenge and constantly tell people to "git gud" are griping about difficulty in AC6. "I have to focus too hard" like OMG. Are these people serious? If they want lumbering mechs, they can easily go play Mechwarrior (which I also love). You actually have to use your brain and think about what loadout might best serve your mission, and can't just big 2h weapon stomp through the whole thing with one play style.
I'm from the old or rather ancient AC community started with AC 3 and I love this game I'm just glad I got another installment in my favorite franchise
Honestly the only thing I care about is the fact this has brought mech games to the front of the market for a while, hopefully this will get us better games and bigger budgets knowing people love thise genre. I'd love to see them bring Chrome hounds back.
Honestly AC6 feels like Last Raven with quickboost, bigger bosses, and some other mechanics from other AC titles. And with less parts. Honestly, my biggest complaint about AC6 is the overfocus on stagger, it's kinda like how overheat was busted back in Nexus where so much of combat effectiveness is centered around it. As much as Last Raven will continue to hold a place in my heart, AC6 is now my favorite game of the series.
I never once expected Armored Core 6 to be a souls-like, I expected them to stay close to the identity of the previous Armored Core games. The game isn't nearly as difficult as Dark Souls 1-3 or Elden Ring, yet I felt like it was still challenging enough to keep my interest. I had an absolute blast playing the game, and have beaten all of the endings. Totally worth the price for me.
If you find the game too hard: play the game with a fresh mindset. Not with the mindset of whatever genre you've been playing with your whole life cough*souls*cough. Keep moving around(in boosters). I've seen too many gameplay videos of newcomers just shooting at enemies while stationary or are just walking and not using boosters. Bosses will demolish you with that kind of playstyle. Also, play with the 3rd plane of dimension(flight). Audio and visual cues: there are beeps and red flashing squares that come from enemies when they are preparing to fire devastating attacks. Those are your "tells". Learn to time how to dodge them. Now for those who find the game too easy: stop searching for and copying "op meta builds". Tinker around on your own and try out the plethora of arsenal and parts available. Discover fun builds for the fun of it. Customization is a huge part of why we love this game. Don't rob yourself out of the fun in that. Lastly, maybe the mech genre is really not for you. Just move on and go back to your medieval fantasy games.
I'm not that old of an AC fan, I mainly started at 4 and before that it was just watching friends play it in passing, I'm just happy 6 exists and I'm content with how it went, especially knowing if it goes with tradition there will be a updated expansion like game like For answer and Verdict Day in a year or two so I'm not gonna act like its the end of the world.
I've played gen1-3 way back since '98, but only saw gameplay for gen4-5 because at that time I was in college and busy with my thesis. Though I saw how much faster and almost fundamentally different gen4-5 was. AC6 sits in such a balanced middle. It had the visceral weight of gen1-3 and the speed and technicality of gen4-5, and I'm so happy with it. And it's just as challenging as any other AC game. Some people just don't get it. Not everyone fits the raven callsign
I love AC6's difficulty as a whole, they give you a problem, you find a solution that works for you, if you tryna bulldoze everything with one single build, you can, but perhaps be more flexible :>
Did he really just say to make a mecha game into a medieval fantasy game like Elden Ring?! Next, that dude is going to say Mario needs a Claymore and to play more like Elden Ring.
I’ve yet to play Armored Core VI, but it looks GOOD. It seems that a lot of the people that play it expect a Souls style or Souls-like, when from what I’ve seen, it’s got but a couple of similarities to each other.
I actually found most missions to be overly easy with it flipping to very hard when a boss shows up at the end. There is only one mission I actually had to worry about ammo in and it's the mission that really felt like an AC game SPOILER The Mission to kill the Redguns and Michigan was difficult, yet also very fair. Took me tons of tries but I really enjoyed the need to actually think about the encounter due to no checkpoints or Supply. Most missions I died in I shurgged and went "Oh well full ammo and health". That one mission really forced me to think and adapt
Same, AC 6 for me was rather trivial since I have my experience with both AC and Souls, this game was made with both fanbases in mind and it shows. Really miss the debt system, using gatling guns and grenade launchers and still losing money on a succesful mission, good times.
That mission was my favorite of the entire campaign, ngl. The banter from the enemies, the challenge of ammo conservation, running out of ammo for my weapons then needing to punch the last dozen of MTs to death while avoiding getting killed at around 1k AP... the hypest shit in the game, hands down.
Gotta say, as a person coming in from the Souls franchise, I absolutely ADORE Armored Core. My dad got me this installment when it launched, and I had done plenty of research to know what I was getting into. Safe to say that this turned out to be an amazing experience that makes me think in my bed at night. Not because it's particularly ground breaking, but because it's so fun and because it was my first rodeo with one of FromSoft's OG franchises. Thanks to Fires of Rubicon, I have now installed emulators to play through each of the Armored Core games, starting with the very first PSX installment. Let it be said that I that I'm getting into something huge here. Especially with a certain Crimson AC that i've heard about in particular...
I played a lot of AC 1 & 2 and missed everything in between. While the challenge is hard (the pace is faster, a lot more aerial action, etc.) I'm enjoying it. I'm waiting until I get through my first playthrough and unlock most of the parts to really say how I feel about the game as a whole.
My first play-through I did think the game was unfair at times l. But by my 3rd in NG++ I felt like I mastered the garage and energy management. It’s incredibly satisfying destroying stuff without getting hit, especially when you struggled on those bosses before.
As an aside, I'm personally enjoying that my experience with bosses so far has largely been to study them a little, then tweak my AC to try and figure out how best to deal with them. It's almost like a puzzle, and working it out is fun.
This confuses me I have no complaints for this game it’s everything I want in a gundam game just from a different studio and in a different skin I love from soft games and it’s impressive how they’ve never failed me
@GTSW1FT no, he's saying that it's everything that he wants in a gundam game but it's not a gundam game. Gundam should make their games like this though.
I think complaints about bosses are legitimate, and I say that as someone who has played nearly every game in the series. There are just so many bosses in this game where the earlier titles would occasionally challenge you with enemy mercenaries and occasionally big MTs, but it never forced you to have any specific build to beat them.
Exactly and the weapon balance is awful but God forbid you say anything besides its the best thing ever. They will just say you're just bad at the game when they know inside it's simply not as fun as they're pretending for their ego.
I don't get why people complain about how hard the game is. I got clapped by the tutorial boss a handful of times, got clapped by the dude at the Watchpoint quite a few times, and after that, the game became quite easy.
As an old AC player hailing back from AC1, I am glad to see they have made some changes to bring it more into the main stream. I just wish they would have kept some of the well liked mechanics, like Boost Stacking, Etc, and kept the tuning more like FA where you could put points into the stats of a mech directly to fine tune how you wanted them to work. Other than that, I think they did well with this one and it will give the franchise a boost so more games are created in the future.
@@jonathanclarke5763 no, the focus of the game was meant to be mobility first also controller uses need hard lock because the thumb stick aiming isn't snappy like the mouse. also aimbot is always their, hard lock just makes it impossible to lose sight of the target.
NG+ doesn't really have anything harder than the first playthrough had, the alternate version of attack the dam was probably as bad as it got, but even that wasn't as bad as the intercept the red guns mission. NG++ is where it really ramps up, but by that point you've got every os upgrade and two full playthroughs under your belt, so it's definitely warranted
@@fernandozavaletabustos205 not a fan of the boss nerfs, I was thinking of nerfing op weapons and the gank fights. Also buffing some weak weapons to make them viable.
DO THE SOULS FANS COMMUNITY KNOW that without armored core we would not have demon souls and dark souls so put some respect for this game ya in the souls community . did anyone tell them that armored was there first baby ? wait till the play the older games oh lord and armored core 3 and 4 and 5 na i knew what armored core was my first game was armored core 3 then i played 4 and 4 answer i used too own them on 360 regret selling off and i owned armored core 5 and verdict day regret it it even more for selling those i play both series dark souls and armored core . also i kind of enjoy armored core 6 even though i am a armored core 3 old head
Not once have i ever seen a mf gundum and thought "This should be more like a souls game" Like dawg elden ring and its difficulty scaling doesnt apply to a f*cking machine fireing rockets over its shoulder. You are a literal machine god, why do you want to diminish that experience?
The game has major balance issues when it comes to weapons, ranges and the number of parts, but otherwise i think the game is fantastic. They chose to focus a lot on "git gud" type of bosses, which i am not 100% sure was the right choice, but the bosses are well designed and fun to fight. I think this game would just benefit a lot from a balance patch and extra parts.
Isn't the "git gud" aspect the secret sauce of FROM SOFTWARE games? This aspect should have been expected before people even consider adding this game to their check-out carts.
The boss is not really a git gud but more so "stop using one build and playstyle" type of boss for me personally As for the balance I feel like it will take a while since a faster game like AC will be harder to balance
Not so much balance issue as it is more like players looking up meta builds and going with Zimmerman's and Songbirds because the internet told them to, instead of experimenting like you are supposed to. They did this to Elden Ring and any other game as well. Super OP set ups that were suppose to be found by chance/experimentation instead get recommended as the meta by minmaxers who suck the fun out of the game lol
it is absolutely not a git gud type of game, i was struggling against a boss, so i changed to a pure missile spam build, and it was way easier, there is nothing "git gud" about the game forcing me to change builds into something OP and meta or ranged and spammy
I don’t know what it is about ac6 but it has quickly climbed to the top of my favorite games list. Something about the way your ac can effortlessly slide across the ground while keeping track of what is essentially two heath bars and four weapons. I guess it just immerses me in the world like no other game has done. Like I’m expertly piloting a mech and getting frustrated when I can’t move due to acs overload. The start of the story being a bit messy makes it feel like I’m just a mercenary working for whoever pays the highest. As soon as I booted up the game everything just clicked and it makes me sad how more people can’t just click like I did. Sometimes a game feels like it’s actively or king against you, and sometimes it feels like a game was made just for you. Ac6 feels like a game made just for me. But if more people pushed through the frustration I’m confident they can find their click and love ac6 just as much as me.
I love it, loved the older AC and I love this one also. Brings back good vibes, why the older AAA games were simply great, without too much crafty, open world stuff
Probably one of the first Fromsoft game I absolutely loved. I hope we get some kind of remastered collection of the past games. Maybe even have it be possible for you to take your AC Part store data from one game, and add all the parts from one AC game to another.
This was sort of possible around Armored Core 3's era. Armored Core 3/Silent Line and Nexus/Nine Breaker/Last Raven all used the exact same companies/parts lists, with each title adding a few new things.
@zerosen2141 you could actually do this for every generation till the 4th. All 3 ps1 games you could carry over and armored core 2 and it's follow up also let you. It's one of my favorite mechanics the old games had. 4 onward only let you transfer blueprints or some emblems which was a little disappointing
as a hardcore DS fan since Demon's Souls on the Ps3, I came in with the expectation of a fast paced mech game and holy shit I love this game so much. The mech moves so fluid and I love the variety. One problem I've noticed though is the early game doesn't accommodate newer players properly like for instance the game frames assault boosts as a traversal option where as its main utility is closing the gap to be aggressive and for evasive maneuvers for homing rockets. I feel like if the wall mission had a vertical homing missile salvo and the game reminded the player of the assault boost, players would have a much better time dealing with Balteus and have enough time to come to terms with build crafting in time for sea spider, but hey thats just my opinion.
IKR!! The movement feels SO GOOD it’s like buttery smooth. If you wanna do an interesting experiment, Find an AC1 iso and a PSX emulator and see what god awful movement feels like 😂😂😂
I bought and played ac6 right after I had been stressed out and tired of eft and I enjoyed it so much because of the style of and designs of the AC parts and the ability to just mix and match what YOU wanna play The complexity of the bosses did stump me a bit but for once I had that "hurt me plenty" kind of energy where each fight (tho repetive) I still enjoyed plenty Got a few friends of mine to hop on with me and now we just see who can make the dumbest designs (that still somehow still work) I cant really say I have enjoyed a game as much as AC6 and personally I'll keep playing it
it's important to remember that they are coming at this from focusing on souls types its short its vague and its difficult, its new as well and the new needs friends. They will find their way they just need time, that's not to say anyone has to buy it while its unpolished but that some consideration needs to be given towards their new style and their growing pains.
This is my first armored core game and I am enjoying it the only problem I have with the game is the difficulty spikes I wish there would have been a smoother difficulty curve
Its a bit different because once you find a wall, you cant like retreat and grind lvl and stats right, just gotta take time to learn the fight, and try different loadouts until the puzzle is conquered.
@TriloGStudio yeah the only grinding you might need to do is money to get a new part or weapon you need but that aspect is what makes it fun in a different way from souls games
Just so you know, that guy your pulling clips from trash talking AC6, he’s a troll, he does this with literally every single big game release, scroll through his vids, it’s like satirical or something. He does it with everything, not even games, even his own life lol.
I wanna say I agree with the "you're forced to use a certain build for bosses" sentiment, but like... when I played 4 and 4a and was going for full S-ranks... yeah I just used the optimal build the internet gave me, lol. Kojima weapons, laser rifles, and grenade launchers. I had fun messing around with the other weapons on easier content, or when I wasn't worried about rank... but to 100% the game, I swallowed my pride and used the OP stuff. I've acclimated to the difficulty and am enjoying the game, but my main complaint is a general feeling of chunkiness where you don't feel fully in control of your AC at times. For example, it feels like you should be able to charge in with a melee weapon and follow up with a shotgun blast, but instead you're trapped in an animation after your weapon swing, so the enemy gets to run away before you can follow up, whether you hit or miss. If I hit I wanna get that bonus dmg while they're staggered, if I miss, I want to at least take advantage of the fact that my melee charge has me at close range, but I usually can do neither. It feels like only the pile-bunker has a short enough animation to do this at all. The laser/pulse swords and stuff just leave you sitting there and punish you even if you actually hit the enemy. Considering this game has no i-frame dodge roll or anything, I just wish they smoothed things out a little more and that I spent less time being stun-locked by my own weapons. Oh well. I'm on NG+ now so it's not like I'm turned off by it enough to stop playing. XD
Crazy thing is that this game isn't even as difficult as the earlier games. They don't know what fear is until they've met our best friend Nine Ball.
Omg this is facts. Nineball and Debt. Could you imagine what they would be saying lol

A bit agitating people are comparing this to a souls game. I’m a souls veteran, I hopped into this game about two weeks ago not expecting a souls game and I absolutely love it. I love that FromSoft makes games knowing that not everyone will like them but those who do love them.

Old Raven here too 🔥
That heli knocked me down so hard on my first try, my response was "OKAYYY that's how it's going to huh?" Wasn't taking the game seriously.

Cheers gotta be in your 30s at least to remember that release in the mid 90s....the golden age in my opinion simple times 🍻
From soft is the only AAA developer right now that actually knows how to make a game with a clear vision and audience. So long as they continue to have clear design direction for their games I know they will continue to make some fantastic games.
I don't agree, i think everything is top notch except the story and lore around the space magic abstract thing called Coral and what it can do.
So far they’re the only developers making good games with replayability
Monolith Soft is just as much a studio with a clear vision. And I am certain there are others too.
Nah previous ac games had healing and checkpoints but only in long missions because most missions were quick to finish
Example is ac 3 and ac silent line
AC FA was definitely easier than AC VI.
It took more time to get the hang of the controls, but practically every mission could be cheesed.
People should be thankful they didn't bring back a BS mechanic from the previous games: Overheating.
well said, for me seeing it as its streamlined masocore mecha; its like Elden Ring paving the way for new players and audience to try mecha

All I can say is, I seriously hope we don't have to wait another 10 years for another Armored core game. This game slaps!
oh naw, they better keep cranking them out!
@@TriloGStudio That being said, I would also welcome some remakes of the older games, like armored core 1, 2, 3, SL or LR
Armoured core 6 dlc better have more mission, more arena, and more fun parts
We need dlc first 🎉
I honestly like it more that way, cause that means the games are actually finished on release, and we dont get another cyberpunk experience.
Havnt played since number two and I felt right at home in 6😊
Honestly, I feel much the same way, this feels like an updated gen 3 with deeper boss fights and better controls and I absolutely love it.
It feel close to AC3 for me that's why i can adapted more ease to the control than when i play AC4
I'm with you
For me who has played all the games and waited the 11 years for a new armored core, AC6 is such a breath of fresh air. It pushes more on being itself than nostalgia bait, and I am happy that it is difficult. Armored Core was never supposed to be a easy game.
11 yeasrs I waited for this, now it's happenging as it should
Soy cucks that dislike this game do not deserve it.
You picking a fight with hundreds of other mechs, you outnumbered, out gunned and they think it should be easy?
They'll most likely make a new iteration if AC6 like they did with 4&5.
Since i loved 90% of this new installment, i really hoped thats the case.
Yeah, they should add slow clunky combat to match my slow clunky brain, and a great sword, aaaaand epic reddit karma.
When that dude was saying "They should have focused on the melee, a big two handed claymore" etc etc. Go play Elden Ring then if you want them to just make a mech themed Elden Ring.
Older AC games "kinda" had two handed weapons, weapon arms were cool
Well said
Hoping for some DLC to cover some of the wants that we as players and enjoyers of the game would like to see!!!
The number on AC6 is for the generation. So there's likely to be an AC6:B and AC7. No generation has had just one game in it so far
Thankfully, you are somewhat wrong
on Steam charts, AC6 demolished DS3/Sekiro peak player counts, and is Fromsoft's 2nd best launch ever outside of Elden Ring, and I don't think that's just because of Elden Ring
besides, mecha is niche because the genre is so damn inconsistent with quality, be it games, anime, movies, comics, etc.
I've seen many, many people be turned into mecha fans because of AC6, which is a very good thing to me
and I think AC6"FA" or AC6.5 will probably kick absolute ass
@@KatcriEN cant wait the the inevitable expansion to AC6. every armored core gets an expansion and fromsoft would be a fool not to make one for one of their best selling games ever.

"AC6.5" might even be proper DLC lmao, who knows

I'm one of those old AC boomers (most active during the AC3/SL days), and AC6 feels a lot like those games to me. It's faster like AC4, but manages to avoid the pitfall of being so fast everything kind of felt the same to play (so you might as well just build a heavy). I can see where they made concessions to appeal to a more casual crowd, but none of that broke the experience for me. At its heart it's old-school AC, and I love it for that.
yeah good point- they did a lot better making the different legs and weights play differently.
I just wish they had more missions where you just fight non bosses
The people calling AC6 "too easy" are the same ones who say "I've lived a long healthy life by only breathing air and never eating food or drinking"
the words "FromSoft" and "Casuals" dont really go well together💀
thet being said, I still had quite a hard time on some bosses, and I am not new to FromSoft games at all.
I'd send dark souls fans straight to the Gaza strip for their influence on AC's development, respectfully.
on the upside of the debt system the games have something to counter it energy weapons never cost you anything to fire but generator power and ammo (yes THEY ARE FREE technically speaking) but this is absent since AC4-AC6 where energy weapons now cost something to fire, and if ever you want to recoup costs there's always the arena which is not exactly "efficient" when it comes to income but that depends on how fast you deal with arena opponents
which is why when you finally got the Karasawa in AC1 you instantly become rich since ammo costs shouldnt be a factor in your build this still largely remains true in MoA
@@xowrldofartbecause more people gets into it means more games for everyone, you DO realize the entire community doesn’t just consist of you, at least not anymore right?
I feels like the current expense is lower, too low. Double the expense would still be fine IMO and this comes from new AC6 player

Yes, it felt awkward at first, but then the harder bosses like broke me in, and I started getting faster, dodging more, jumping around, and boost kicking. Like, when you understand the movement and feel the momentum flinging yourself around kicking ass, it is just fun.

@@jordanneal8979 fair point. I still like to think FS showed mercy on us tho LOL

Also obligatory edit:
I think the gatekeeping of Souls fans and the 'toxicity' of the community through things like 'git gud' is vastly blown out of proportion. Most of the community is really chill and for the most part genuinely helpful and overall the vocal minority in this case needs to be ignored :) We can all enjoy these games for the artform they really are and toxicity and gatekeeping as a whole only leads to suffering as a whole.
for sure, AC isn't dark souls and the fact that a lot of these people think that it should be just goes to show that the people the game is attracting isn't really its target audience
also the fact that dark souls players got a rep for being toxic really kinda sucks because i know first hand that the vast majority of the people are actually super chill and just looking through the comments and seeing how many people just have a disdain for the series because of the players is sad becuase they probably wont expeience the game for what it is
how to delete these vocal minority in real time? This pisses me off too since this is also my first intro to ac series and I think these people just want to groan because they have the privilege to moan and groan in the social media. Take the internet away and let see how these righteous bastards cry in solitude without anyone to give them attention lol.
Probably the only games that I can truly say i never regret buying full price
Uhhh...
The fact that Armored Core fans gets ran out of their own damn community and the mods bans/remove AC discussion on the subreddit say otherwise
I felt the hud was a more toned down form of Vs honestly, otherwise i agree good part selections Trying to get the Karasawa is pain
@@Year_of_the_Dell I recently got every part available and working on getting all S ranks.
@@damianstarks8974 nice one, I wish you luck in your S ranks. I did quite a few my self just trying out builds and such. Makes it a tad bit fun, i didn't expect to use the Jailbreak BASHO parts as much as i did
@@Year_of_the_Dell I got into the zone and took out the tetrapod in the jail brake mission it was fast and hectic and in a very small place.
It's all the non-niche-fitting gamers following the next Fromsoft release after Elden Ring blew up getting filtered by the Tutorial boss
So basically
Souls community: NOT ENOUGH LIKE SOULS
Old AC community: NOT ENOUGH LIKE OG AC
Boy i sure feel bad for AC6
Good thing i had no expectations and love the game for what it is
Exactly lol. Ac6 was a Jam for sure. Even I had to take a step back and reset my thinking.
I loved AC3 and I think AC6 is soo good.
The ACs operate like they did in the trailers for the old games lol. The one thing I wish we had were some missions that were more like a grueling assault on heavily fortified positions.
The number of enemies are pretty light even in the big fights you rarely had a real need for mass multi-lock or weapons of large scale destruction when my laser rifle could tap tap tap and one shot mobs.
the mass lock helps save ammo on primaries with low total count
@@dakota9821 Saving ammo has hardly been a problem in this game tho. The only time I ran out of ammo is when I tried to cheese the Ibis fight by using Carlas load out.
I’ve never played an armored core game in my life, and armored core is sooo awesome, it’s a full combination of all previous FromSoftware titles, it’s the best mech game I have ever played
its the same as the others yet different enough to give a unique experience imo and its amazing
The only crashes I get are in the menus. When I'm actually in game there's 0 issues
@@vergilchair9517System recovery stat on heads seems to be bugged as well.
Yeah having my mech be slow and run arround with a claymore would realy ruin the power fantasy lmao
Exactly. We robots out here, not rolling out with invincibility frames and 10 potions. (granted..we do have 3 now lol)
I mean there are melee weapons out there... if they want to use them
fr they dumb
@@Apollo-tj1vm As soon as I heard "plasma claymore" I outloud went "nah that's bait. That's a man who gets off to getting yelled at."
That clip of the kid saying it should be more melee focused made me want to punch him in the face. Two handed laser claymore? Seriously?
I burned up a summer playing AC2 long ago and I must say, AC6 is refreshing.
As a man who started at AC4 and went backwards, this is the most Armored Core game they made.
Its perfect.
Except for that damn netcode, ffs fromsoft
The only thing i found somewhat lacking about this game was the limited amount of kinetic projectile weapons, like a slower gatling/chain gun for the shoulder or some non laser sniper or heavy assault rifle (The ingame assault rifles need a buff bad to begin with, and while the linear rifles are nice, they are still sub-200 meter effective vs ACs). But outside that, few things that i can complain about, i hope we get some more parts with DLC or anything in the coming year.
Also, not gonna lie, i just miss my MARVE and MOTORCOBRA.
I thought the opposite was true. Not enough energy weapons. Kinetic weapons definitely need a boost though. Especially in the sniper/rifle category
@@Akrilloththere's a chainsaw, so 2 kinetic melees
I'm really happy to say that worry was unfounded and every second of my AC6 playthroughs were just an absolute joy and even got me interested in more mech stuff, which I had very little interest in before
I guess Fromsoftware doesn't miss for me, I haven't played a single game they've made that I haven't enjoyed, I'm even probably gonna go back and play older AC games because the AC4 games look really interesting to me
What is your source for knowing about it a year before it was even announced? It was only confirmed *with* the trailer you're talking about in December of last year...
Wow they made AC into Souls Like and Souls players love it? Shocking

@@MrMykse but they didn't turn it into a Souls like? From what I've seen in the comments of this video some of the AC vets have said that AC6 feels like AC3, as well as taking notes from AC4 and AC5. @@MrMykseThe bosses are not shit this time = souls like?
Totally worth the price for me.
except it's still not a souls like, dark souls never had focused on mobility.
1:13 Which reminds me how "camerawork" always being souls' nemesis
There is only one mission I actually had to worry about ammo in and it's the mission that really felt like an AC game
SPOILER
The Mission to kill the Redguns and Michigan was difficult, yet also very fair.
The banter from the enemies, the challenge of ammo conservation, running out of ammo for my weapons then needing to punch the last dozen of MTs to death while avoiding getting killed at around 1k AP... the hypest shit in the game, hands down.
for me was attacking the dam on NG+, fighting iguazu and volta
I’m guessing the critics has not met nineball seraph yet.
As an aside, I'm personally enjoying that my experience with bosses so far has largely been to study them a little, then tweak my AC to try and figure out how best to deal with them. It's almost like a puzzle, and working it out is fun.
This confuses me I have no complaints for this game it’s everything I want in a gundam game just from a different studio and in a different skin I love from soft games and it’s impressive how they’ve never failed me
Dude I've been waiting for good gundam game for a while now. Ac6 is what a gundam game should be

Somewhere in the darkness, Zinaida laughs maniacally at the current gen difficulty
The aimbot and stagger system need to go. What's the aimbot system? Hardlock.
@@jonathanclarke5763 no, the focus of the game was meant to be mobility first also controller uses need hard lock because the thumb stick aiming isn't snappy like the mouse. also aimbot is always their, hard lock just makes it impossible to lose sight of the target.
I’m loving this, it’s a solid 9/10. There’s some big issues with balance and some NG+ ganks are rlly bad.

The boss is not really a git gud but more so "stop using one build and playstyle" type of boss for me personally
As for the balance I feel like it will take a while since a faster game like AC will be harder to balance
Balance issues arent exclusive to this game, all fromsoftware souls games have had balance issues before patches
As a player who loved AC4A and absolutely hated 5. AC6 is the good upgrade from the path of AC4A

If you wanna do an interesting experiment, Find an AC1 iso and a PSX emulator and see what god awful movement feels like 😂😂😂
I bought and played ac6 right after I had been stressed out and tired of eft and I enjoyed it so much because of the style of and designs of the AC parts and the ability to just mix and match what YOU wanna play
The complexity of the bosses did stump me a bit but for once I had that "hurt me plenty" kind of energy where each fight (tho repetive) I still enjoyed plenty
Got a few friends of mine to hop on with me and now we just see who can make the dumbest designs (that still somehow still work)
I cant really say I have enjoyed a game as much as AC6 and personally I'll keep playing it
Honestly, I find it funny that the people who would tell you to get good now see that they need to get good.
Baltheus is to hard?!? Until you hear: TARGET VERIFIED COMMENCING HOSTILITIES you don't know what the word terror even means.
it's important to remember that they are coming at this from focusing on souls types its short its vague and its difficult, its new as well and the new needs friends.

You can replay missions or fight stuff in the arena. I've used that a few times when experimenting with weapons, legs, etc.
Just so you know, that guy your pulling clips from trash talking AC6, he’s a troll, he does this with literally every single big game release, scroll through his vids, it’s like satirical or something. He does it with everything, not even games, even his own life lol.
Odd how those negative review are so familiar, like is a template so you can use it anywhere
XD
