    Very nice truck in great condition. I'd like to find one like that. There are much better aftermarket mirrors now for towing. The newer larger ones make visibility a lot better, when towing a big trailer (RV).

      Hi Bwanar1, thank you, it is in really good condition. Yes, you are right on the aftermarket mirrors for towing. I like the bigger/better ones on the F 350 too. Thanks for your comment!

    Those ficm needs good batteries all the time, never change 1 battery. If 1 is bad then replace both. 850 cold crankers.
    You also should be changing your oil every 3k and it wouldn’t hurt to replace the fuel filters at every oil change. If you can. As injectors are expensive

    Nice looker!I bought one exactly like it brand new except mine is the v-10,it now has 125,000 miles on it but living in the Midwest the rockets need replaced,other than that it is in excellent condition ,it is still bone stock and I still love it.

    • @RadDadToolbox
      @RadDadToolbox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Kelly, LOVE IT! The V-10 is a great engine. It has no Cam Phaser problems and can run well past 250K with good oil changes. Thanks for the comment!

      @@RadDadToolbox what are your thoughts on 6.8 V10 Gas? I’m considering purchasing a 2003 excursion 235K miles

    • @RadDadToolbox
      @RadDadToolbox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@IH3ARTSME The V10 is a fantastic engine. Earlier versions like the one you are looking at have to have special torque specs on the sparkplugs as the threads were to short and often stripped out. They have to be repaired with special tool and process. I like the engine and have a V10 in a 06 Flatbed with almost 300K and still running strong. I believe the 05 had fixed the sparkplug problem. I have seen plenty of miles on earlier versions. A good mechanic that is familiar(most are) with the problem can help you navigate it and get 250-300K+ out of the engines. Hope that helps. Thanks for the comment!

    Too bad FORD stopped production. The rumor was going around back in 2004-05 that sales were bad for the Excursion. GM, was smart with their merchandising putting that word out. The truth is Ford dealers sold everyone they had on the lot. Just think about it. If sales was so bad why are the Excursions so popular now over any GM suburban? Between GM advertising department and the little greenie folks that want us on horse and buggys got Fords weak spot and stopped the production. Love Ford trucks but Ford makes some very stupid decisions in their corporate meetings, they have trouble hearing the customer, stop listening to the greenies and the idiot politicians.

    Sooooooo, head gasket blown up by head bolt weakened or oil coolant screw up?

    • @RadDadToolbox
      @RadDadToolbox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Deepak, Blown head gaskets on 6.0s can come from several sources including those you have outlined. Starting with: Bad head bolt design... Too few.... Too far apart.... Too weak for the load put on stock studs. Once some of the basics known 6.0 issues are taken care starting with ARP Head Studs, New Gaskets, EGR Delete, etc. you are heading in the right direction. These motors once dialed in can be reliable and fun to drive. One other note: The 6.0s are especially sensitive to good clean oil. By design the oil quality drives Fuel pressure, injectors, etc etc. I recommend a good oil like Rotella T 6 Synthetic with no more than 5K between changes as a good long term insurance policy. Thanks for the comment!👍

    The 6.0 has 4 head bolts per cylinder the 7.3 has 5 head bolts per cylinder the 6.0 runs crazy boost pressure like near 30 7.3 around near 20psi. I dnt know what the engineer at international was thinking
