Why Not Make A Bird Feeder that Has a finger print scanner and once it's confirmed it's your mates it gets to Choppin? And if the Birds are Hungry Well .. .
Chicken bones (like most bird bones) are possibly the worst substitutes for human bones you could use since they're hollow and significantly more fragile
@@houselightkell it has nothing to do with them being on the ground, its just how all bird bones are. also im pretty sure there are still some chickens that can fly just not for very long
@@houselightkell "Do ALL birds have pneumatized bones?" Per the Wikipedia page for "bird anatomy," no. And I quote: " Penguins, loons,[2] and puffins are without pneumatized bones entirely.[3][4] Flightless birds, such as ostriches and emus, have pneumatized femurs[5] and, in the case of the emu, pneumatized cervical vertebrae.[6]" For most birds, the hollow spaces in their bones actually hold air that is used for respiration, (and avian respiration is apparently complicated in a way that I haven't sufficiently studied yet, so all I can tell you is that it's this way for some reason that helps them breathe.) Important in the case of domestic chickens in particular, is that they are not descended from flightless birds. Wild chickens are capable of flight, and even domesticated chickens, left entirely to their own devices, will happily climb trees and shit, so they're rather vertically capable even if they can't manage proper flight. Not much at all like a penguin or ostrich. (And hollow-boned farm fowl just makes sense anyway, because it means they are converting fewer nutritional resources into parts of the animal that we can't eat anyway.)
The reason the measurements with the grip sensor capped out at 30 kg was because the bar you made prevented the grips from moving as far as they normally would, meaning that any additional force supplied by the crab was counteracted by the normal force of the sensor and metal bar.
"Their claws are designed to pinch and grab, not cut."... Sounds like the perfect opportunity to design some scissors made for crabs that you can test out next.
My brain isn't innately scared of getting a bit of pain and very little actual damage, it is innately scared of a trip, or a bad gust of wind causing me to then be hit by the entire planet going 9.8m/s. Probably something to do with our ancestors living in the trees and the almost guarantee of death from a bad fall.
For those who are curious: the 740lb number comes from the strongest pinch scientists recorded off a coconut crab. A crab can, on average, pinch up to 20 times their weight. The number may vary wildly too.
it seems like a faulty measurement. He modified the grip scale and I think because the range of motion on the scale was lessened, it couldn't be squeezed as hard.
@@PartyItUp4EverMud crabs are not as powerful as Coconut crabs and 30kg seems about right. A mate of mine had his toe squeezed by a big muddy and it did draw blood. 30kg pressure is potentially only spread across a tiny area as their claws are knobbed and caught between two knobs with 30kg is a lot.
Important note: it's called "ballistics" gel for a reason. It's a good analog of flesh when it comes to high speed projectiles, but not when it comes to cutting and overall tensile strength, which is a higher concentration gelatin mixture
It's pretty standard here man. Only things to worry about are the ground or pavement on a hot day, and bloody prickly little bindis. That and all the crap that can kill you. But they're all fairly easy to avoid as long as you seal yourself in a box.
But I thought that crustaceans shed and will eventually grow back missing limbs? Isn't that like why King Crab legs are so common, because they can harvest one claw, wait a while for it to grow back enough to be useful for the crab, and then harvest the other and so on.
@@mookinbabysealfurmittens Alex is the main guy on the channel, in the leather apron. Alexa is his friend, the one who ended up putting his hand in the crab claw!
What do you mean, you can clearly hear the enthusiasm in his voice when he says he's waiting in the continent of tianamin square or whatever the fuck it was called
The difference is that all the other projects could go horribly wrong leading to pain. Put when putting your finger into the claws, pain is the desired outcome. Mentally, that is very different.
FYI chicken bones and human bones are quite different. As chickens are birds their bones have heaps of holes in them to allow for flight (for other birds not so much chickens)
@@boiyado6717 I mean, if it weren't for our brain subconsciously going "nah man, don't do that.." we deffo would be able to bite of our own fingers, in fact, you can bite of another persons finger if you really wanted to. Man, Alex really knows how to choose his classical music and edit in such a way that it fits. Claire De Lune in that moment was so god damned beautiful
I'm actually very bummed that the crabs can't possibly know you're testing their grip strength. I bet those boys would LOVE that if they knew what they were doing.
A finger breaks at about 1480 newtons of force and a large mudcrab can exert up to about 3300 newtons. A typical adult femur which is the strongest bone requires about 4000 newtons of force so a mudcrab could almost break your leg if it could get it's claw around it. But that's crushing force
I’m actually worried for him now, this man made a bionic leg and broke his toe with it and also has a fan with literal machete blades, I’ve never seen him hesitate
One thing to note is that chicken bone (and other bird bones) are hollow unlike mammal bones, this is why birds are so light and can fly. Probably makes it a lot easier to cut through chicken bones than human bones.
People can in some parts of the world regularly eat the bones in a grilled whole chicken with some vigorous chewing. Can't imagine a human eating mammalian bones of that size.
Chicken bones (like all bird bones) Are also far denser than mammal bones, the primary function of their hollow bones is not to make them lighter but to expand their respiratory system.

Since it wasnt stated in the video I wanted to mention that not all crabs have the same strength in both claws. The mudcrabs claws here in the video appear to be similar, but other varients of crabs have whats called (for lack of a better name at the moment) the pincer claw, and the choppy claw. They have one claw specifically for holding and moving things such as rocks, shells, and wood including an attacker which is typically their skinny claw, and the other claw that's generally larger and stronger is used to break sticks, harm enemies and destroy prey such as other crabs legs, and in the case you were hoping for would be unsuspecting toes and fingers. Im not a crab specialist or marine biologist, but I hope this information helps some curious comment readers.
I always use the term crusher claw and ripper claw, one made for crushing through shells or bones, and one for ripping apart or cutting through flesh. I was thinking about that the whole time they were doing this lol.
as long as you remember to give some of the contents of the can to the crab after use, otherwise it won't last long, tool maintenance is important, people
@@boyznthewoodz770yeah no this is a misconception. Scientific American mentions a study published in Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research and conducted by Roger Mann that concluded that loss of a single big toe results in little or no disability. It takes some getting used to, but there are literal Olympic runners who are also missing toes or their entire leg for that matter. It’s a cultural myth that was started when the draft happened in the US, anyone that has any part of their foot, including toes, amputated is ineligible for military service and exempted from the draft. So some people decided to shoot their toes off. They were just fine after recovery.

Ive heard that any body of water in Australia thats not clearly marked as a swimming area has atleast one thing in it that WILL kill you and this mad lad walks around without shoes ive got massive respect for you my guy
There's a lot of dangerous stuff but it doesn't mean that there is definitely something deadly in the water. It's more that you should assume that something in there will kill you unless stated otherwise for safety. Just gotta respect the wildlife here.
Thats only up in northern Australia, down south you can swim in any body of water without fear of death. Only thing you have to watch out for is still water that bacteria might grow in

Nothing like kids with needle phobias though. I was able to hold off 3 nurses when I was 8. They had to literally sit on me to hold me still enough to give me the shot.
I don't have a plasma cutter but I weld and do oxy acetylene cutting all the time barefoot and it's not a problem but mud crabs will mess you up big time, I've been bitten and still have the scars so I speak from experience
I've never seen Alex so flustered about anything before, that was really funny. Also, if you're going to kill and eat the crab later, why not just stich a knife in its head to get it off? it's not like you were planning on releasing it
If you want even more Excruciating pain then yea kill it while it’s already clawed onto you, when it dies the nerves in the claw tense up and inflict stronger squeeze
Big crabs with big pincers trigger something in my brain too. It's feels like a physical barrier, a forcefield that just stops you going near the pincers
Human finger bones can be simulated with regular chicken thigh bones. Chickens have the same hollowed out bones, though less so, like other birds. I think a crab could easily snap a chicken wing bone. Childrens teeth can break chicken bones.
@@greenbackjack768 Where do you think the myth of tooth fairies come from? Little cannibal kids with necklaces of teeth. I CAN NEITHER CONFIRM NOR DENY THE VERACITY OF THAT STATEMENT lol
My teeth (though adult) can crush a chicken thigh bone, if only at a specific angle. You have to use the crushing teeth at the sides. I never tried crushing human fingerbones with my teeth.
Dude he is so much more patient than I am. After 4 minutes of having a mudcrab latched onto me, and failing to get it off, I would most likely have shattered that crab against the bridge myself.
He might just rip that part of your hand away from your body if you try something like that. I don't think it's this animal, but I remember hearing about something that, if you killed it, good luck opening the claw, as it just literally deathgrips.
@@kindlin You can very easily pull a crab's arms off, they're dead thin where they attach, but then they couldn't have shown the footage because the community would shit on them for animal abuse, and rightly so, especially considering the overall stupid purpose.
@@kindlin Accidetally ripped the arm off a sadcrab that got hold of me once once (I started shaking my hand before seeing that it was just a tiny, inncoent creature) , the claw sorta still hung onto me, but when I pullad at it it opened up.
There are pliers that work in reverse to the normal ones. You squeeze the handles and the noses of the pliers try to come apart. Locking ring pliers for internal locking rings come to mind. Those would have been much better for pushing the claws open.

@@boyznthewoodz770I’ve got 3 toes on one foot and can walk fine.
@@SleepyLuxxyour not true we allways use toes they help us
@@boyznthewoodz770yeah no this is a misconception.

Human finger bones can be simulated with regular chicken thigh bones. Chickens have the same hollowed out bones, though less so, like other birds. I think a crab could easily snap a chicken wing bone. Childrens teeth can break chicken bones.
