Medicine student here: those fabrics are designed to protect you from only one of the two main mechanisms of trauma: the penetration, which causes a lot of damage. In a shark bite though, the blunt force trauma would still leave you bleeding internally, which is a lot of fun. Great vid as always!
Biology enthusiast here, although what you say is true, sharks regularly don't rely on bite force as much as they rely on the slicing action of sideways bite movement, they have big jaw muscles but they rarely use the full capacity of them simply because they don't need to, their teeth are sharp enough to do most of the work without that much force applied behind them
Yeah, that was what bugged me in this otherwise awesome video. Simpler said, even if the teeth will not PIERCE through the suit, the shark bite's power alone is enough to damage your body through the fabric since it's not rigid, pressing on your body. To be fully protected from a shark bite, you'd have to find a way of making a rigid suit able to both resist being pierced and resist a 4000 psi bite. Good luck!
So i didnt put this info in the video for some reason but apparently 90% of shark bite deaths are from blood loss. So yeah obviously if i 5 meter great white grabs you it will still squeez you to death but otherwise this would help reduce the depth of cuts a lot.

The suit seems like it may reduce external bleeding in the event of a real shark attack, but there is a likely risk of internal damage. I don't know if it's enough protection to actually save a life or not, so please do not test it for real without wearing shoes.
I’m sure the suit is more effective at stopping the shark from turning your arms to ribbons than anything. It’s better at stopping them from tearing up your body than just biting
