Jfc why is it so complicated? You have to dismantle the entire car to replace something that has to be replaced regularly. Whose idea was that?! I'm not doing it myself anymore lol
Went through this madness on my gf's Renegade last night. Then, out of frustration, after the job was done I showed her how to access the engine & cabin air filters on my 2013 Accord. It took about 30 seconds with no need for tools. 🙄 Also, I'm super thankful that the parts guy at Jeep convinced me to pay $40 for the filters at Autozone versus the $140 OEM cost.
Jeeeeepers sure make complicated what is sôoooooo simple on my old Chevy Cobalt where I swap out the cabin air filter in a minute , while parked in front of the Auto parts store. No worries though, buying that special tool was way cheaper than taking it to the dealership like they hope you'll do. Done it several times already, no sweat, just dumb engineering .
Could car manufacturers make it any more complicated!!?? Who designs these things? Obviously someone who never had to repair them! Thanks for showing us how to do it!
Absolutely mental design. But what else can I expect from Jeep? I looked this up because I couldn’t see how to change it on my wife’s renegade. This is a thirty second job requiring no tools on my Isuzu D-Max.
saw a guy at the dealership do this by just taking off the glove compartment door (no tools needed) and just removed the one screw for the filter housing door.. am I missing something?
Mine ended up being a T20 but they might've been replaced by someone who lost the originals. The bolt holding the filter cover had been replaced with a different screw as well.
Who the hell has a 5.5mm Doing my girlfriend’s car bc she has an atrocious smell coming from the AC and it didn’t have this bolt in particular but you can bet your ass they had everything else

That's why you don't buy a Jeep (or should I say Fiat) Renegade. Leave it to Italians to over complicate things just like the Germans.
There's a special place for people who design routine maintenance stuff to be hard to get at.

In my new Volvo it take 3 mins lol

It's owned and made by FIAT in Italy. It's not the same Jeep from decades ago.
Thank you. Worked perfectly. I had one iron part with 2 screws more, but was easy. 🎉

You forgot to reinstall the side panel and screw?
Nah…just one less step next time. 😂

The dealer probably didn’t reinstall all the screws or it was a different model
5.5mm socket is 7/32” SAE.
Thank you for informing us!
Everything worked great,
Thank you!!
Took me literally 10-15 minutes
You have to remove the whole glove box? Wth? My honda had a single removal panel in the glove box that took a minute to change. This is ridiculous
Screw that i’ll let em change it alongside my oil
You have to remove all 4 tires just to replace the tail light. Jeep.
Thank you! Great instructions.
Glad it was helpful!

SO ANNOYING! Thanks for the tutorial. Wish me luck...
Lets make it a pain in arse so people will bring it to a dealer and be charged $125.00
100%!!
Are the screws security T25 or standard?
The screws in this video are T25 standard.

What a pain in the ass!!! why make things so difficult? I can change the air cabin filter on my ELANTRA in 10 minutes.
and the idiots in the service department tore off the lock of the lock, so everything spills out

Honestly not that complicated. Just lots of steps
