I work in a fuel shop and I do these pumps for a living it’s a Delphi dp210 pump that’s digitally timed. Stupid idea but it’s for emissions there’s no key in the shaft. 90% of the time it’s the fitter spinning the shaft when nipping the gearwheel on then come back angry we have not set the pump correct. It’s a stupid idea why Delphi can’t just put a key in the gear I do not know.

I agree that its a stupid idea. Just makes everything a little harder..

I have a ts100 model but similar dp200 pump. I sent the pump out to get timed. I don’t see any mark on the flywheel or damper for tdc and I tried already adjusting by taking valve cover off until cylinder valves are loose then take a torque wrench that does degrees and backing it off 28 degrees but the tractor doesn’t want to start on its own. What is the mark I should be looking for on the flywheel and how do I know that I backed it off exactly 28 degrees?

Hi! We just had our pump out because it was leaking from the axel seal. The shop then timed the pump.
We set the Engine to TDC then went back a little to 30 BTDC and then 2 notches forward for 28 degrees according to the install manual we got from the dealer. Is this wrong? Should the marking on the Flywheel show 0 like in your video? Or is it the 30 degrees mark you see there in the video?
Also the Tractor start kind of easy but doesn't run right. It got really low power on low RPMs, was fine when we took the pump of. No smoke though just low on power.
TDC was easy to set with the front cover of and we also made sure the valves where closed on cyl1 by looking under the valve cover.

Went off my manual that says the same. 28 degrees btdc on the flywheel and pump set at 29 degrees. I ended up having to adjust it a few times as it didn’t seem right.

@@JacobsFarmLife the pump service shop said they had it up in a bench and adjusted it with help of computer tools so not sure they understood they should set the pump at 29. Maybe it was zeroed? I mean the pump at 0 and our engine at 28. So really retarded timing at the moment if that's so? Or am I thinking wrong here? Thanks for the fast reply.
Are you sure the pump should be at 29 btw? So I can tell them that if we remove the pump again. On the valve cover I see this "Initial Injection timing 29° so probably so.

That’s what my book says. It’s a really poor design in my opinion. You have to take the whole pump back off to just to adjust timing. I talked to a couple of dealers back when I did this and didn’t get much help. You might try and reach out to some. If they know what you’re talking about they can set the pump at 29 degrees for you. I had to end up adjusting the time a few more times by locking the pump taking it out and moving the flywheel a few marks back and forth till I got it pretty good. You can really tell by the sound of it. It’s just a pain that you have to pull the whole pump.
