  • Welcome to the another one of our How-To videos where we explain different ways to combine and utilize our products and show you how we did it. In this video we are giving a tutorial on how to wire a rocker switch with LED (6 and 7 pin wiring diagrams) to control a linear actuator as well as showing how exactly a rocker switch works.

    How could a 6/7 P rocker switch control ON-off-ON for a load, using THREE switches, located in three locations (e.g. Lights) ? Where does Fusing go, before switch or after ? Relays advisable ?
    Thank you for the content 👍🏼

      You may be able to consider using microcontroller programming for the combination logic and then have H-bridges or relays for handling the current draw of the actuator.
      Wire the fuse first in order to protect everything else down the line.

    Can I connect two linear actuators of each 10A to single LED rocker switch?
    Can this be applicable to third party actuators?

    • @ProgressiveAutomations
      @ProgressiveAutomations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Siva, Yes, these LED rocker switches can be used with third-party actuators, as long as the actuators are within the maximum current rating of the switch, which is 20A.
      Regarding the 2 linear actuators, this is possible; however, there is always a speed tolerance of ±10% between each standard unit that we carry. This means, the actuators will not run in sync.

    If I were to connect a sunroof and I want to connect it to my battery fo I need a relay ?

    • @ProgressiveAutomations
      @ProgressiveAutomations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Isaac,
      Our PA-09 actuator and LED rocker switch used in this video both operate at 12VDC and already allow users to extend and retract the actuator with the switch. Because of this, relays will not be required for connecting to a 12VDC car battery.

    Will a lighted rocker switch made for AC light up when the circuit is closed, but powered by 12v? My switch seems to be working but... no light :(. Thanks

    Hi , I have the LED type 7 pin switch. Without using pin 7, but have the rest as shown in this video, I am still getting LED in one direction only. Why? Also, If I do use pin 7 to the common pin 5, both LED will work, however in the off position of switch, I measure -5. volts. Why?

    • @ProgressiveAutomations
      @ProgressiveAutomations  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Paul
      It sounds like the switch you are using is unlike the one we have in the video. Perhaps you are getting different results because your switch has a different wiring configuration than what we have on the video. It would be best to contact the switch manufacturer to obtain a wiring diagram.
      Best Regards
