6:34. Four ways to open the trunk actually. The 4th one is walking to the back of the car with the key in your pocket or hand and waiting a few seconds. It will open automatically when the lights flash a few times.
I just found your car reviews. Excellent work, thorough and informative. You have a new subscriber. I like the K5 very much, and will be purchasing one next month.
Wishing KIA gave this the Bi-modal Exhaust to give the car a throaty sound in Sport Modes. Generally the exhaust is quiet. I'd look into swapping the rear mufflers for Magnaflows™ to add a performance note.
It does in fact have the new Kia logo, but the digital display still isn’t in the US! Just got mine and it’s fantastic. Less blocker rear windshield design as well.
I wouldn't say a baby Stinger, it's the same size as the Stinger. I had an '18 2.0T Premium & now have the 2.5T K5 GT, if you check the dimensions, they're virtually the same. One may have one more inch "here," but the other will have an extra inch "there," etc, etc.
KIA needs to minimally give the GT a limited slip down deferential. This is a bit of a hot rod & without AWD, needs all the traction it can get ... and could. Limited Slip Deferential.
I went to buy this k5 gt here in Katy texas exactly like that they want to charge me 45 k plus tax when the price was 35 on the sticker. I was ready to buying but dealers today for today are creazy on prices . Sad 😔
It looks good and Kia has some nice design elements. Be nice to see your driving impressions though. A big part of this is paying more for the more potent engine and we need to look elsewhere for that. Not sure I like the gloss black trim on the lower diffuser only because that area always gets dirty and the gloss will easily show scratches. The fitment of the trunk and rear tail lights also have a weird gap which accentuates a miss match. Exhaust seems very muted for a performance sedan. A big plus is a very nice truck and included spare tire.
Missing too many useful features in the US version would love to see them add them in the next few years. Would gladly pay more to have more useful tech and LSD or AWD.
That wasn't a review, it was more of a walk thru. And none of the aluminum looking trim on this car is "brushed". Brushed aluminum has fine lines in it.
@@Iegend17 one your G70 video someone said the Canadian version gets swiveling headlights, Nappa leather seats, HUD, Full digital cluster, 360 camera, and rear shades. Kia destroyed the K5 here… I want to import a Canadian K5 to here in the US
in US: Personally I wish it had the Euro-spec Bi-modal Exhaust to open the sound in Sport Modes. Also I wish there was an alternative interior color other than black. What about that rich red or Kalahari & black color theme? KIA can up the game, though they won't be putting in AWD.
@Catholic Firefighter thought I was commenting on the K5 GT. Comparing to what the Stinger had, for instance. Nonetheless KIA won't make any changes. The Stinger Lineup's been out since 2018 in in 2022, we see a 3 (three 🔠) horsepower increase? 🤔 That's really sad.
I own one and you don't have to buy one if your buying a car based on what people are saying. Do your research and buy it if you are convinced. Is the Optima a great car, yes!
@@jcatalan1496 Right which is part of the research process, there's countless previous kia optima's from the older generations to the new 2011s that are on the road with 200k to 300k miles and still going with no issue. So why would a 2021 breakdown after a year when properly maintained. Its called maintaining your car and doing oil services and cleaning carbon build up on their vehicles on time to prevent engine problems in the future. Plus you have 100k miles warranty that ive never had to use.
This is a new platform on the k5/optima, it’s a new engine, new transmission, and idk what else is new lol so idk how ppl could already be saying it’s unreliable.
I like the car but in person it doesn’t have the wow factor that videos give it. The front and back are nice but the sides look extremely dull and boring in person.
@Catholic Firefighter in 1-2 years, all competitors will no longer use manual clusters besides base models just like infotainment screens. Nobody spending $20,000+ on a brand new 2022 vehicle wants their car to be outdated and “old” by the time they only had it for 1-2 years. Digital clusters are then future.
The new Acura type S doesn’t get a digital cluster - very nice colored display but standard analog, etc. Believe or not, not everyone wants a digital cluster. Also, they’re are more likely to fail. More tech, more possibility for issues.

I appreciate that. It means a lot to me! It’s definitely nice and such a great cars with a lot of features for the price.
i wish the white came with the red interior
Finally a review on one of these in a color other than blue. The white looks great.

i will be trading in my camry V6 for the 2022 K5 GT in hopes that the 2022 model has the new kia logo and has the digital gauge cluster

How do you get amber lights to strobe?
so how does it drive?
then its not a full detailed review.

Nice video and nice car but creazy to buy cars today must all the dealers wants to charge too much
i love your videos
price ???
cant remember but i said in the beginning of the video and i even showed the msrp sticker
Apparently Kia took a ton of features away from the US k5… this car could’ve been perfect.
Iike what kind of features ? This is pretty loaded lol.

No

Looks incredible in person. Def a head turner.
Love the outside. Holy shit is it boring and outdated interior on arrival.
Why kia didn't build a gt with awd i don't get..they would sell a million of them..what a dumb mistake
It’s a Kia.
noice
They're not bad if you don't mind owning a supposed sports car thats slower than a stock ford ranger with a 2.3 litre!
What's slower than a stock Ford Ranger with a 2.3l?
Kia lost me once they decided to not throw in the full digital gauge cluster. Was the deciding factor in me not buying this.
