bassandtrebleclef The K5 GT will be the fun version. That goes on sale later this year. I like the Avalon TRD but I personally like the dynamics of the Camry TRD a lot more. Great review! I just picked up a 2021 K5 Ex last Wed, and I love it! Still have to explore all of the bells and whistles this car has to offer... I've been driving a Mercedes since I was 18, I'm 53 now, I always appreciated all of the safety features a Benz had to offer, But now companies like Kia and Hyundai are offering them on their cars and getting 5 star ratings from the National Highway Safety administration at a fraction of the cost, you can't beat it! And the quality and reliability not to mention the warranties on these cars! One thing I will not miss from Mercedes are the high prices to maintain them. I'm tired of spending the money on their repairs and scheduled maintenance. Especially when I hear from my clients pertaining to Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, and Honda "the only money I've spent is on oil changes and tires" and that's a given for any car. I'm looking forward to exploring my new Kia! Your review was spot on, concise and professional! Thank you! Paul Subscribed

I’m ready for a K-5. I like that Hyundai make the softer, luxury cars (Sonata), and KIA make the sporty cars with better driving dynamics and road feel (K-5). Love the IP, makes it a good choice for me. And I like analog over tech, so that leads me to a K-5. Until I sample them each, I don’t know which one I’d pick!
Great review, Forrest! This K5 looks the best to me exterior-wise in its class. I agree with you though - I prefer the Sonata's interior. This would've been the best in its class in/as the Korean K5 version - the full digital instrument display, large centre screen, and the dial shifter.
What features are missing; Korea gets the old 2.5L as standard, the 1.6 as an upgrade. K5 gives you a geared transmission instead of CVT (Acura you get geared); and I think in the USA the Kia warranty is double Honda's - I think anyway.
@@GlennLaycock I'm not too worried about warranty. But in Korea the k5 gets the 12 inch digital gauge cluster, a tan interior color option that looks amazing, built in dash cam, built in air purifier, auto folding side view mirrors ( a feature kia omitted for the 2020 model, but something the optima has had since 2011 ), a feature that allows rear seat passengers to move the front seats, it gets the key card option the sonata has, and it also has smart park. We have none of that in the states ☹. And I bought up the accord because they're pretty much similarly equipped. The only thing the accord lacks is a good stereo and a panoramic moonroof. The accord still handles better and that 10 speed auto is pretty amazing. More interior and trunk volume as well. But I can't wait to try the 8 speed dual clutch in the k5 gt, I just hope it'll be good. Looks are subjective, and I give both of them a 9/10. The k5 is a more of a fresh face, but after being on the market since 2017, the accord still manages to break my neck. No other car has done that.
