CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The Gorgonites decide that they should fight even if they're going to lose.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Joe Dante directed this satirical action-comedy about talking tech toys accidentally juiced-up with military microchips. After the defense industry firm Globotech takes over a small toy company, Heartland Play Systems' CEO Gil Mars (Denis Leary) gives the green light to develop a new line of action figures, requesting an upgrade to more realistic figures from Heartland toy designers Larry Benson (Jay Mohr) and fumbling Irwin Wayfair (David Cross). Mars wants toys that act like the ones in TV commercials. The results are fierce fighting figures, the Commando Elite, programmed to seek out and destroy the kindly alien-like Gorgonites. In an effort to make the toys as natural as possible, Benson inserts Globotech's most powerful military computer chips. Meanwhile, in quiet Winslow Corners, Ohio, toy-store owner Stuart Abernathy (Kevin Dunn) and his 15-year-old son Alan (Gregory Smith) are stuck in a failing business, so when Heartland truckdriver Joe (Dick Miller) stops by with the Commando and Gorgonite toys, Alan is convinced they will be hot sellers, commenting, "Maybe this store will finally make a little money." With blistering blows to their blister packs, the Commandos burst out, receive orders from their leader Chip Hazard (voice of Tommy Lee Jones) and ready for an all-out assault on the Gorgonites. When the Gorgonite leader Archer (voice of Frank Langella) begins communicating with Alan, it causes the Commandos to perceive humans as another enemy, simply by their association with the "Gorgonite scum," so an attack on the Abernathy house begins. Unfortunately, the Gorgonites can offer only limited assistance, since they have been programmed to lose. The film combines animatronics, puppetry, and computer animation. The Commando Elite voices include surviving actors from Robert Aldrich's The Dirty Dozen (1967), while the Gorgonite voices reunited several This Is Spinal Tap (1983) cast members. A dedication to Phil Hartman (the voice of Phil Fimple) after the closing credits features a brief Hartman outtake.

Like Game Warcraft and Warhammer
“Hey kids, don’t you like nine inch nails?”
The one liners in this movie are classic and went over my head when I was 7.
Nine Inch Nails? I love those guys- oh wait, nvm lol
@@madgang201 Nine Inch Nails were also the ammo for the Nailgun and Super Nailgun in Quake 1
i especially liked the ones by zaniac, just love those zany characters
Ik right
A proper classic of 90s movies. Love the literal "uh oh" moment, where the Commandos realize that with the Gorgonites in the fray, the tables have actually turned.
This movie is basically Toy Story meets Gremlins. And it is awesome.
Well the director of Small Soldiers is the same one for Gremlins
This movie is basically Toy Story meets Gremlins . And it is awesome .
Coral Roper it’s more like toy story meets terminator
This is set in the same universe as terminator.
To me it’s if the toys in toy story Rebel
This made me smile and tear up, I remember every bit of this movie. Man those were the days.
Hey its free on TH-cam, now you can see the whole movie and tear up even more
I still have the action figures
If you name the Gogonites names then your awesome
@@mikececcon6503 I still have my archer figure I got for christmas when I was 5 years old.
Love this someone completely random somewhere in the world shared the exact same reaction to something from there childhood!!
If we hide, we will still lose.! One of the best lines. Shows that you might as well go down with dignity
Even as a 7 year old kid, when Archer bravely said "No more hiding" i knew things where about to get epic, and when that amazing music kicks in it's absolute cinematic perfection.
This just shows what happens when you push someone too far because those who don’t like to fight are those who you don’t want to fight at all
Yup even the most peaceful form of water can become a raging typhoon.
Bear in mind this was directed by Joe Dante, aka the director of the Gremlins films. It reminded me of Gremlins 2 where Gizmo burns Mohawk alive with a fire arrow after spending half the film being bullied and tortured.
Kate: "What happened to *him*?"
Billy: "I dunno I...guessed they pushed him too far"
"Stick this in your pipe and roast it!"
Most badass oneliner ever
TEXAStooTAL L he says “and smoke it”! Like he’s smoking it from a pipe
Smoke it

Smoke it
Its cool to think that the fire machine is an actual special effects prop thats used in movies and tv shows.
I like how they don't wanna fight because they're scared but then they're super powerful? Lol
its a narrative designed to fit the logic of children...
Well technically it kind of makes sense that the Gorgonites can kick ass since they are monsters and from the look of things they have their own set of powers like super strength. Even the Commando Elite realized they were about feel a huge ass kicking when the Gorgonites finally stood up for themselves.
If you remember earlier in the movie they were programed to hide and not fight
+David Rivera Well the Gorgonites are also by default outnumbered by 8 to 5.
The monster just fought back against their programming, had human help and won.
What I'm wondering is how different the gorgonites are designed like that crazy spinning gogronite

Ocula don’t seem very effective though lol. It is insaniac, the brothothere guy and slam fist doing the heavy lifting lol
That’s because only one of them is heavy.

So many clever little jokes I missed as a child. 01:33 “HEY meet my wife, the ol’ ball & Chain”
I have got to sit and watch this again. Classic
Zaniac was always my favorite and as I saw it the strongest Gorgonite even surpassing Archer. His looney antics and especially speed and spinning could have won the war easily but his programming nerfed him until THIS moment.
Voiced by Saul Goodmans brother Chuck lmao
@@Kamina.D.Fiercehis name is Insaniac, but I think you are 100% correct.
The camera angles give this a really good action frame
But imagine how ridiculous this scene would look to someone just standing there watching it lol
How Nostalgic...
I love how all the toys are fully aware that they're toys but still 100% commit to their programming. Even when they're standing next to fifteen other versions of themselves.
0:48 Last time we fought I woke up with AM/FM lol

Timothy Torres he's got an old radio in him
I always love it in movies when the seemingly weak and imposing side finally nuts up and starts fighting back ^^! Always so satisfying!
1:18 Slamfist has been watching "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", no matter the actors.
Gary Mcnabb, even this annoying actor from "Amadeus" wasn't in "SS".
I wonder if he's actually based on Quasimodo

Anyone notice at 1:46, Ocula is chasing Brick Bazooka & Link Static, then they turn around and chase him right back, I have no idea why I'm finding that so funny!!
it looks like they grabbed weapons lol
One other funny thing is in the novel version of the film Ocula can squeeze enemies with his eye stalk like a snake and pop off their heads but it's not seen in the film itself.
That is funny though lol I never notice that before. It the small things in life right :)
I already loved Occula, she is so adorable and harmless
(Occula and Scratch-It are girls)
@@djwaifu1350 What I find strange is Ocula is refered to as female in Small Soldiers Wiki and the PS1 game but in the book versions of the movie and the PC game Small Soldiers Squad Comander Ocula is refered to as male.
1:32 Insaniac is my favorite of the Gorgonites with his easygoing yet crazy attitude.
I know right and major chip Hazzard
chip hazard and his posse can suck on on a plastic dick for all i care. Archer and Insaniac are the best of all toy characters by far,
When I was a kid, I couldn't believe that was Michael McKean's voice
Very likely sound effects program was used to alter his voice.
Insaniac just crack me up, spins like Taz the Tasmanian Devil. Wields a difficult weapon, talks fast and barely seems able to stay long in one spot.
Insaniac taught me that Cartoon Physics translates into super speed, and that super speed is OP.
This clip is the best part of the movie! They decide that hiding doesn't accomplish anything and they get the courage to fight back against the commando elite! Go Gorganites!!

If 7 Gorgonites are enough to turn the tide against the entire Commando Elite Army, imagine how unstoppable they are with an army of their own.
The gorgonites were capable of killing Armies of Commandos the entire time?
Imagine an army of gorgonites
Well that's the whole point. Because the Gorgonites were progamed to hide and lose the Commandos except Chip Hazard always expected the Gorgonites to do that and they always expected the humans who were the Gorgonites allies to protect them all the time which was why the Commandos were not scared to fight the humans. But when the Gorgonites fought the Commandos and protected the humans the Commandos were put in their place.

they were programmed to always run and hide
THE COMMANDO ELITE were originally going to the Heroes but however due to their programming, they only ended up being the Villains in the film🎞.
how were they ever going to be the heroes?
XXX DDD XXX they are not, the gorgonites are heroes of this film.
Farmer giovanni said the commandos were the heroes originally
XXX DDD XXX It was revealed in the beginning of the movie🎥 in the meeting for pitching new toy lines, Gil Mars (the Chief Executive Officer of GLOBOTECH INDUSTRIES) made The Gorgonites the “enemies” for the Commando Elite & making the Commando Elite the “heroes”. But however, the Commando Elite developed evil personalities while the Gorgonites developed good personalities which hence in term the Gorgonites were actually the real heroes of the movie and the Commando Elite the real true villains of the film also.
+1 commando elite did their job
1:34 Insaniac always cracks me up.
"Hey hey meet my wife the old ball & chain. I love working it around. I'm not gonna sit and i'm coming after ya. You don't like to hedge GI then sit out! Good night ladies and germs."
If anyone can correct the last bit before the "Good night ladies and Germs." bit then let me know.
I think he said "Hide GI" referring to the gorgonite original GI programing.
"You don't like the Hide GI? Then sit down!"
Had to play it back a few times. Insaniac talks at insane speeds.
The line is, "Hey hey! Meet my wife the ol' ball and chain! Oh, I love workin' in the round! I'm knockin' 'em dead! Hey lookit that! Oh, you don't like to stand, GI? Then SIDDOWN! Thank you and GOOD NIGHT, ladies and germs!"
it sounds like he saying "Hey, hey meet my wife the ol ball and chain. Hey I love working it around. Im not gonna sit, Oh look at that. You dont like to stand GI? then sit down. Thank you and goodnight ladies and germs"
That was awesome. The Gorgonites were able to overcome their fears. They grew tired of running away and hiding like cowards and losers, so Archer and his comrades found the strength to fight back and help Alan defeat the Commando Elite. It took them a while to get a grip and the guts after Alan did everything to protect them in his home until they return to the isle of Gorgon, their beloved homeland. I find Archer, Ocula, Punch-It, Scratch-It, Insaniac, Slamfist, and Traglicka cool.
Can this movie have a remake? This movie is freakin awesome
yea it is awesome and it doesn't need a remake.
+Qamir DeatHoChang Remake? What are you talking about? Why would you want a remake? You want them to do another cheap cash in? Besides, this movie was already a ripoff of Toy Story. They shouldn't remake it.

No more hiding - Spoken like a true leader
They cut the best part when Frankenstein shot up their asses lol
At 0:15 one of the Elites was hit by friendly fire, this movie has some really subtle details.
I find it funny that the Commando Elite (except Chip Hazard) are tough against the humans & Gorgonites while they're hiding, but then they run away as soon as the Gorgonites step in to kick some ass.
Its probably because they know the gorganytes were programed not to fight so it probably freaked them out that they started to fight shame they never made a sequel
Yeah except for Chip Hazard they're like the carnotur from Dinosaur. They just expect the Gorgonites to run and hide because of their progaming and for the humans to protect them which is why they were not afraid to fight the humans but when the Gorgonites stand together and fight it's the other Commandos weak spot.
this is damn good cgi for the era
They definitely outdid themselves. They had a lot more breathing room thanks to it being live action
This is my favorite scene . It's when the main heroic team against the sinister army.its like if Chip hazard can disobey his programming by fighting innocent people instead of just gorgonites. Archer can disobey his programming too by fighting commandos instead of hiding and retreating.
The “first blood” at the very beginning- nice Unreal Reference . Haha
I feel nostalgic about this movie, I used to watch this movie in HBO during early 2000
HBO in early 2000s was undefeated
Insaniac was always my favorite, next to Archer lol
This was my favourite scene as a kid I loved it when the Gorgonites stood up for themselves and fought back against the Commando Elite only to show the audience they were tougher and braver than they thought sooo good!! 😍😁😁

I wanna thanked Frank Langella and Tommy Lee Jones for voicing both Archer and Chip. This movie is part of my teenage life. Thank you. 😊😊👍👍❤❤
Insaniac spins like a Tasmanian devil
Insaniac's spin can be inspired in Taz
I think Insaniac is what happens if Taz and Deadpool had a baby
Or the mask, you can tell with his comedian side
The director of this movie must love Taz because in Gremlins 2 and also (the part he directed from) The Twilight Zone movie two other characters do this
1:48 Ocula in the background realizing he literally can't fight because he's just four legs, a long neck and an eye.
There’s something kind of transformers about the way the toys act amongst eachother
I remember being so excited to have the Purple Guy action figure, and I also had the frankenstein guy with the bat and machines on his back
I remember when I was a kid I tried to make the weapons they made like the driving nail gun lol
No more hiding
So bacically, the Gorgonites are actually capable and strong but they're programmed to believe in the status quo since they're technically the antagonist faction.
I got bullied a lot for liking this movie, glad to see I'm not the only one who likes it! =D
That maniac is the most awesome XD
