I main Toon Link, because sure; he doesn't do as much damage. But he is faster, and he doesn't do his side and up smashes twice/three times. Not to mention landing his down air offstage is orgasmic.

Toon Link: Fast, but not that spectacular combo wise.
Young Link: Combo heavy, but can struggle to kill outside of confirms. Otherwise has better matchups.
Link: Pretty slow, but his range and kills are way more reliable. Bad against rushdowns.
As a Link main and Toon Link secondary, I think Toon Link is being slept on. I agree with the placings on this list, but I just feel like as an all rounder, Toon Link has his own strengths that aren't normally recognised.

Yeah Tink is pretty underrated. I think if more people picked him up and helped grow his meta, he would be considered better than he is now. He has the best kill throw of the 3, the safest smashes, the fastest run/air speed (actually top 25 run speed, 1 above Pichu), good combo moves (bair, bombs, boomerang, u tilt, even d tilt) and good kill power. If he had Yink's aerial framedata and a dair that didn't kill him offstage he'd be insane.

Toon Link "feels" the best out of the three to me. (He's not my main.) He does have the fastest dash speed and is also the smallest of the three, so he does come out on top in those categories.
I want to see TL's meta head towards aerial usage. It seems this iteration's aerials string together well, especially his back air. I still think he needs lots of setups to KO, though these are fairly easy to do. His projectiles also allow for mix-ups if used properly.

-up-b kills on the ground in addition to being an edgeguard tool
-hurtbox on up-air allows you to beat any attack and is one of the best anti-airs in the game since it stays out long enough to beat most airdodges, plus it kills
@@arcmissile Eh, a little bit besides the main point of my comment but okay. I could've explained what I meant a little better: his best kill confirms at lower percents are setups. Bomb + fair and boomerang + fair. Obviously he can kill with more than that, but these are great for opponents just below 100% or so.
Back throw and up air kill at higher percents, so I wasn't counting those. I'll give you up-B. (I tend to exclude this one due to helplessness, but it definitely is good in the right situation.)
Also you talked about much more than their use as kill moves... not pertinent to what I was saying.
Okay I know many people think Young Link is the best but (while I actually prefer Toon Link) I believe BOTW Link is the best link. Yes Young Link has a better offense and overall neutral game (n-air spam and chain hook), but I believe BOTW Link's bombs, up-smash, and size (useful for situations such as platforms or up-b range) over power that and overall make BOTW Link a better character.
Edit: also BOTW Link's up-air and f-air and smash attack damage 😫
Plus if you can space it right BOTW Link’s dash attack kills like at 50% or something ridiculous
Links up smash is my least favorite move in the game
I mean it really depends on the matchup. Link does well against characters of his own speed or less, while young link does better against rushdown characters and faster ones as he has less lag and startup. But link is very solid tho.

They’re all really good, it depends on your play style though, spacing and speed for Young Link, power and tactics for BoTW link, and neutral play for toon link
There is 0 reasoning to play toon link so no ur wrong unless u want tactica ans power u play young link. The only reason to play toon link is personal connection to it
Toon Link & Link are pure zoners, picking one over the other is choosing a light or heavy zoner. Ylink is a mix-up/zoner because he can rushdown or zone equally as good, he also has the best neutral.

They need to overhaul Toon Link. He stands out even less than ever now and is pretty much Young Link on hard mode.
I think Nintendo wasted the opportunity to give Toon Link a crouch walk that would be literally the one where you crawl through holes, sound effects and everything from Wind Waker

I don’t use a character because they help me get better. I just use my favorite characters. In the end the point of it is to have fun so I really don’t like when people just go super tryhard and take it in a way that ruins it for others

A good change to his Dair would be to let players move a little bit to the right or left.
Not as much as the normal links, obviously, but just slightly to the left or right.
I agree that Y. Link is probably the best and Link is the second best but I think most of the hype around those two makes it harder to appreciate how good Toon Link could get to be. While he's not the best in any of the categories he's also not the worst in none of them besides combo potential and even then we don't know how things will shape in the future. For example, I think his bombs are more consistent than Y. Link's and he has the fastes OoS option out of the 3 Links (Grounded Up B is only 6 frames, and kills).
What makes you think younglink is best?
-no spiking move
-least powerful aerials of all the links, makes bomb confirms kill later
-up-b does not kill and the combo to up-air is not a true combo
-no killthrow. shielding against younglink invalidates like 98% of everything he does since his grab is bad too
-boomerang is short-ranged and bomb explosion is smallest of all the links

That's a terrible decision. The three Links play completely differently from each other, so trying to main all three of them means you won't get good with any of them

@@Carlisho even in spanish, the word "categoria" has the same/similar syllabic emphasis and vowel sounds as the english "category," not the way Zero says it. makes it sound like he's reading off someone else's script. it's pretty weird. is there a specific region in which people pronounce it like that?

Personally I prefer Toon Link based purely on the looks. I'd also argue he's a good character to start with since he doesn't have any major advantage over the other links but doesn't have lot of short comings either.
Interesting, I would've thought Link's remote bomb would give him more of an edge, since it allows for more options. That being said, the bombs themselves don't do much damage, so there's that.
I was sort of suprised with Link's new bomb. I went into this game exspecting to use Link as I have sence melee. Young Link is my favorit for his battle style and agility but I'm starting to get a good playstyle with Link. Instead of lobbing bombs like the previous games I toss the remote bomb near oponants or near a ledge as they recover and blast them. It changes Link up a bit and he can use it for suprise and ambush. It's a new style for Link and I'm still working with it.

CreATiF Light won a grands with Fox recently. One of the early grands Pichu won. Of all the channels I’m subbed to that have tournament video, I have seen all three of those in a grand finals game and win but not young link, and Im subbed to a lot of channels

ZeRo doesn’t mention Toon Link’s tech potential in this video. Mainly because this was early in ultimates life. However now that the meta has progressed a bit, Toon Link BFO has made a return. It’s hard to get it down the first time, but learning it drastically increases Toon Link’s utility. It’d be crazy to say his up tilt is anything but insane, and you can get it at low percents off of bombs and rangs. Overall, he does have worth, and it’s worth it to pick him up for a while. With players like Xcal, he’s sure to develop, and is definitely worth to have, even if just as a pocket or secondary.

I’d say toon link is better than young link. He can kill way earlier, faster, and can do a ton of damage. Is it just me that can make toon link look really good? The way I use him isn’t that predictable. Also it’s kinda the opposite with the peach, Fox situation... his arrows are slower, but I’ve made great use of it. Bombs and hit through platforms etc

dont forget that adult link's arrows can stick on the ground and then be picked up to shoot two arrows at once! this is a nod to the foraging aspect of breath of the wild as you collect and use whatever you can find to fight
I already knew that my main was gonna be the worst out of all the Links, but what really irks me, is the fact that in the games, Toon Link is actually physically stronger than BOTW Link. And on top of that, he has more experience with the Triforce of courage than BOTW Link and almost as much as Young Link. Feels bad man.

McBanana Kirby wouldn’t be SSS tier. Some versions of the mario bros have done more impressive feats. Bayonetta and super sonic are also really strong. Not saying they’re necessarily stronger than Kirby, but not enough for Kirby to be sss tier
As a botw link main. So true. Faster characters always got me playing defensive, because of his slow recovery from smashes, I'm always having to time them out or projectile them till an opportunity pops up
Reason I use Toon Link over the others is very simple: Wind Waker and Minish Cap are my favorite Zelda games.

Tink is the fastest of the three links in terms of air speed and ground speed- the only difference is a slower fall speed. But he is the fastest of the links.
He is also heavier than YL by comparison standards.
ZeRo jumped to a lot of conclusions in this one, as per usual with unrepped characters. Notably, bair isn’t even one of our best combo tools and we do have tech to make landing easier.

I feel Toon link is also the most all around link with a couple flaws. But is definitely one of the most underated/underestimated characters in SSBU.

In my opinion Link is the best (Breath of The Wild). He's got good damage, his hit box is low, his combos are insane, top tier players play him, has a remote bomb (side note: can also be activated by fire moves which counters characters like Bowser and Charizard), has the 3rd longest sword in the game and even though he is slow he can alternatively play defensively.

[GP] GenesiX but hard to kill with, his old one could kill at 60
I like Link's edge guard the best, on top of the remote bomb, it's especially good if you're able to judge how far the arrow will fly based on its charge. Also, if you miss with either hook shot, you have to wait a lot longer for it to retract than the grab, which kinda sucks if your opponent notices. Young Link's fire arrows are pretty nice though, and Toon Link's boomerang has a lot more range than the others.
All in all, I prefer the regular, but all of them can be used pretty diversely as long as you know your own weaknesses. If you can avoid people exploiting your choice's weaknesses, then you're pretty much set with any of the Links for a win. Unless you're against Villager or Inkling, then you're screwed. I swear to god there's no way to survive the Lloyd spam or the roller recovery once you're caught...

I actually like toon links down air. Comes in to play frequently in my games
One nice thing is that if you can play one, you can KINDA play them all with a little adaptation. Your approach is going to be different, such as Link going for powerful hits while Young Ling is going for juggling/combos, but your kits are LARGELY the same across the board, making it easier to swap between Link and Young Link than Link and Pikachu, for example. So you can adapt based on the situation by using the Link best suited to the situation.

When you shoot an arrow, it stays on the ground and any BotW Link can pick it up and use it in a 2 shot bow.

You mean the one where it pins all the different Link against one another, using all their skills and arsenals they gained throughout their adventures (if they had more than one)? If so, then it's not, since he placed Wind Waker Link above Breath of the Wild Link, even though it seems like he underrated BotW Link at the end of it all.

character breakdown videos like this teach a lot about the game to new players like myself. i would love to see all characters broken down in video like this by someone who knows lots about the game such as yourself even just once a week means every character broken down in depth or possibly compared to each other in just slightly over a year. it might even give you new insights if you look deep enough into critical analysis
