Only thing I wanted to see was installation of the aluminum trim in the seal after installing the glass in the body. Endured minutes of polishing, minutes of applying seal and lockstrip, then roping into the car body, then magically the metal trim is installed and we get to watch you seal the corners.
@@hcr-motorworks Ha ha! I was about to update or possibly delete my comment because I found your other vid for the hatch-glass which shows it! Thanks!!
Nice job. I like your technique - especially the Window-Weld. I've had leaks right after installing Z windshields. Will definitely look into your recommendation for its use.
3M Adhesive cleaner - amzn.to/3AbpQGv amzn.to/3DehEY2 Buy the bulk one if you've got a good CHEMICAL spray bottle. If not, then just get a few cans of the aerosol stuff! thanks for watching!
Great to know that they still fabricate this windshield. Do you know if a windshield company such as safelite would be able to order side windows? Mine are pretty bad and don’t trust the used ones from marketplaces. Thanks. Great build, have been following for a while now.
If your the one installing it, I'd use it especially if you've got the precision seals. The vintage rubber ones supposedly fit a bit better in the corners but yea I use it either way.
@Jay Noriega I would try an automotive glass shop, if your calling safelite/gerber and the like, they probably won't have them. Most other mom and pop auto glass shops can have it within a day or two.
@jtcustomknives ahh yep, Thats the pillar trim and the headliner trim pieces. They go in before the new windshield. I outlined that process in this video. th-cam.com/video/RVZgoYXmiRM/w-d-xo.html
Wow you are a patient man. I probably would have lost my marbles trying to get that seal around the windshield. Really nice job.
Its not as bad as it looks, You can do it!!!

You mean the one thing i thought was so important it needed its own video?

@Mitch D haha no worries man. Hope the video helps the process!

Awesome! Thanks for watching
Nice Job, just a question, wich solvent or cleaner did you use with the spray?

Great job hope to be tackling mine this yr after paint, tell me what’s the story with the caulking gun for each corner? Love your work 👏
I use 3M window weld to help seal the corners. They are prone to leaking or trapping water

I would just find a local automotive glass company and see if they can order them for you. Im sure they can!
Was the window weld a recommended best practice? I’ll be reinstalling my front and rear soon on my 260z.

Where did you order glass?
Any local automotive glass shop should be able to source one
@@hcr-motorworks
I called numerous ones no one can source it ugh

Yours has a window boot? Mine is glued in.
They will be glued in the corners. Youll have to cut the original one out if your replacing it.
@@hcr-motorworks yeah I’m going to be replacing mine. I already removed it as it had a big hole in it.
Are you saying it didnt have the weather stripping around the glass?
I just started cleaning up the area and it has a rubber looking boot thing between the pinch weld and the glass and the glass was glued to that.

A new S30 Windshield is around $400,
Not around here they aren't :/
I just picked up a clear (no blue band) aftermarket windshield from a local glass shop for $248 carry out.
