Well done.
The Z looks great! I was wondering if you covered how to put in the windshield gasket chrome without removing the windshield. I’m working on a 240Z of my own. The previous owner put the windshield without the chrome inserts. Did you cover the work in another video? Thanks for the channel, your cars look beautiful!.
Never mind , just saw 240Z is on the ground. Great content, thank you.
I think th chrome trim are easier to install when the windshield is off the car. Does shine eventually fade away with the black wow pro. I want may dash black but not shiny...
@@kyushalimit5931 I live in Quebec so I guess we have a pretty similar climate. I have never installed the chrome trim my self but I know some install them off the car. You can watch this from another fellow Canadian th-cam.com/video/GH9YdOpKBBI/w-d-xo.html. Let us know how it turns out.
@@simonJobin Hey, awesome that you saw my windshield fail video. I was told by a guy that restores Z cars ( to a concours level) that he always puts the chrome trim on the seal with the windshield off the car. I can confirm that I bent the chrome trim a bit simply trying to put it in the seal with the windshield off the car, but didn't bend it at all when installing the windshield. The two corner pieces are a bitch to keep in place though.
I saw in your other video that installing the trims after is not too bad after all :p
Also where is everyone getting windshields.
I got this off a local guy parting out a car
Ahhhh gotcha . I’m in Ohio and there’s not to many guys around here with parts for z cars. But I always keep my eyes open
How klio matter go
I really like those wheels.....what are they...and size?
They are just work equip reps from eBay, 15x9 0 and 15x8 0
@@kyushalimit5931 yeah I’m gonna have to look into those for my73’
I need lowering springs on the front and some new tires and wheels.
I’m watching your build closely . I got a 73 that need help
@@kyushalimit5931 you remember what the front and rear offsets are .
Bye your car is lookin mighty fine👍
@@jeffconley819 they are 15x9J 0 Offset and 15x8J 0 Offset
May I ask you for the name of the supplier where you order the windshield weatherstrip?
I actually bought it off a local guy, but the brand name was "precision"
Top, enough information. I was wondering for some weeks how well would fit the weatherstrip from precision.you just show it in the video 👍, tnx!
The string and someone applying pressure from the outside is key
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me

Thank you so much, you really help me out !
@Malcolm Titan Glad I could help :D
Just curious, why wrap rather than paint? Do these wraps ever tear? What happens then?
Have to say.... it does look good.
Because I can't paint a car and make it look as good as this unfortunately and this isn't my main Z car it's one I am selling so figured it was better to sell it as one color nice driver that someone can always pull the wrap off and paint if they want, or leave it as is and drive it. Wrap doesn't tear that easy no, it chips about the same as paint would.
It can be quite a bit cheaper if you do it yourself as well. The vinyl might only cost a few hundred bucks and, since the Z isn't too crazy with it's angles, the wrap shouldn't be too difficult for someone to do themselves. It's just a easy and fast solution to get a proper look out of the body panels without a full spray.
a wrapped 240z now that's different
Glad you like it! Thanks!
Wrapping? Its either the most ill advised thing I've ever seen or the greatest thing. Not sure yet.
With over 30 years of working on Datsuns, I have to say that when I go to buy cars, I will buy cars that show either original messed up paint, or a really old respray. Buying any Datsun with newer paint always gives me a red flag unless its well documented unless its really cheap. Poor body work with new paint is not fun. I would have left the old paint, it shows the true condition of the car.
Absolutely! To each his own, I'll prefer paint when I can, but I personally don't have the skill to make a car look as good as this now does with paint, but I do with wrap, so wrap it is! This was no OEM paint 240z either, had had probably 3 paintjobs over the OEM before I got my hands on it, so best I can do it make it look the best I can before moving on, I have a S1 240Z , 280Z and a Kenmeri that are going to appear on this channel and take up some more time so this one needed to get done quick!
@@kyushalimit5931 And if you have a buyer who doesnt really understand that old Datsuns can really eat your lunch, then buyer beware. I would never intentionally misrepresent a car though, and I think thats what has me bothered by the wrap. I have to say it looks really good though.
@@David-ty1xz I think it's hardly mis representing, I have pictures or in this case even video of the car before hand I have no problem showing a buyer, or more likely what I believe will happen with this car is it will just be a solid driver for someone and they will enjoy it as is, it isn't a perfectly restored six figure BAT car, but you wouldn't want to drive that one and atleast you can go out and enjoy it. Definitely not misrepresented, it's the modern day version of "sprayed in a buddy's garage" which you are more likely used to. Except substantially less work to remove of the new owner chooses to get it painted.
@@kyushalimit5931 I didnt mean to imply you were misrepresenting, just the concept of the wrap may allow that.
@David, ahh yes definitely, wrap/respray can hide a problem car for sure in the wrong hands!
