I love the way you even mention how to plug the hard disk cable in. There maybe people who never did that before, it helps them too. And your presentation is so fluid, you are a real natural. Keep it up man!
Thanks so much!
@RetroGamingGuy are those drivers at 2:09 mandatory to play?
@RetroGamingGuy got mine today I ran a virus scan on this thing and when it was done no games are working and retrobat won't load at all. I'm a old fart who's not too familiar with these new fangled technology what do I need to do to fix this issue? Launchbox opens but no games work same with playnite.
Very cool, thanks for the info. I've just been getting into a emulator device to be able to play a whole bunch of other consoles that I won't ever own as I just don't have the spare bucks to collect a bunch of vintage actual consoles.
So I've been looking into these kinda things. Im just dumb about these things, I'm just learning about this stuff.
Retrobat has become my new favorite thing. Practically identical to Batocera and I don't have to be assed with booting into a separate operating system. Also retaining proper driver support for my graphics card.
same for me, batocera is great for cabinet or very old pc, but if u want just organize you roms and emulators than the choice is very easy and its called Retrobat!!or even better launch box
@@GiacomBono I have been using retro arch for a long while now. have we run a poll on this in the community to see who thinks what is the easiest to use/traverse etc?
@@Phoenix_Core Ive been using retroarch for awhile as well but to me Launchbox is easier to use even though it uses retroarch as a core.
I would definitely love this cause I would use it alot on my PC
Got a new Raspberry pi4 and I have a 256gb image Will boot from sd on all my other Raspberry Pi’s but won’t boot on the new pi any suggestions? I just got this board requires newer software any help would be appreciated it’s a Retro pi guy image thanks
They need to start making drives with 64bit and up builds. No one needs 20,000 titles they will never ever play.
They're more popular than you think. As more modern classics release over the years you'll get more of what you're asking for.
I think they should split them up. Do a small, cheap drive with all of the games from Neo Geo/GBA/MAME and down. Literally everything before PS1 that has small files. (Most people into emulation have most of these already and like you said, dont need them again)
Then you have a "Stage 2" HDD with PS1, N64, DC, NDS, PSP libraries
Stage 3 would be PS2, GC, Wii and maybe Xbox
Stage 4 would be Switch, PS3 and X360
This is just easy set up for people who doesn't want to put in the time. I preferably just find my own roms, I like a more personal curated list not a bunch of useless bloats which what most of these HDD are.
Ur telling me you don't like pong and other atari 2600 shit box games lol I've been saying the same thing
I say 16 bit and up
well done. i would like to see this kind of presentation for Emulation Station Desktop Edition (DE) for Windows PC. Thanks.
Wow, these things are great!
The best thing about this is the time it saves you downloading roms
I bought this about 2 months ago and love it
Two questions: 1) How powerful of a PC is needed to optimally run the more demanding titles, such as PS3, etc.? 2.) The SD cards for the Steam Deck, ROG, etc. are system specific. Can you use any of those cards in a PC or are they locked to their respective systems?
can the Launchbox be set up like a Botocera drive where it automatically plays when you turn on the mini pc? or do you have to go in and launch it everytime? Thanks
the best handling duplicates is always lunchbox, as only creates an entry per game with the possibility to select wich version you wanna run
Does it make sense to buy this 5TB harddisk if you already have the 12TB 100.000+ harddisk ?
Are there any consoles or more games of some sort which are not available on the 12TB version ?
The price is not that much of a difference between both.
Why not using both Frontends to access all the games ?
Running the 4TB version on a Beelink SER6. Noticing some audio issues on certain games. Is this normal? Its present with all PS1. Anything I can adjust in settings?
Is there any website, service whatever that would go and make CUSTOM built? I been following your videos on this and watching a bunch and its always good infos, but one thing i notice is those collections are never "perfect". Often dupes, and/or often missing titles that shouldn't be missing, like expensive rare games. I know ultimately we can add and remove games, but lets say you want this "plug n play" all trough and trough, would be cool that some places offer the right drive with the built you want. Like really curated or something.
good day sir why is my AMD 5600G computer batocera 39 is not reading my usb flash disk files i cant transfer my Bios and roms
When it comes to the HDDs that you've tried, have you had any problems with any viruses or any type of malware or anything?
I'd love to give these a try, but I'm quite paranoid when it comes to these things...
Should the install me first files be put on local drive c or external drive d?
can you let me know if any of the drives you came across like the kinhank 12tb if it has a game called braindead 13
Awesome video
Thanks
Hi there
Why did they need to use three programs?
Would it not have been better to just use one program?
The cost of one Boxed Pokemon game is more then this drive😅, this drive completely worth it for what you get with it
Could you go over how to plug the wire in again?? I have never done that in any capacity. lol
Any equivalent links from aliexpress?, I am in Italy and i cannot buy from amazon uk!!
That’s a 3in1 drive, awesome! 😎
Yep
Thanks for the great video. I bought this hard drive and connected it to a Ryzen 9... not everything works. I have never been able to get any switch games to work, even when playing them via the Yuzu emulator installed directly on the computer and updating it. Is there a problem with the game files themselves?
You probably need to install firmware and game keys for the emulator.
Is 3D space pinball usually added in these windows emulators?
What kind of specs would you need if are looking to use a laptop instead of a desktop with this drive?
gtx 1650 mobile with pretty much any quadcore cpu over 2.8ghz will run most of it. If amd, prolly any rdna or radeon vega graphics, same spec on cpu. rdna 2 or 3 or any rtx nvidiq gpu with 6 core cpu over 3ghz will likely run it all, when speaking laptop gear.
For those games that show up in multiple emulators, are they being pulled from different locations on the drive or are they all pulling from the same folders?
Both. You'll naturally have games that are in multiple collections/emulators like wwf raw would be in snes and genesis but sometimes you'll also find multiples within the same exact collection/emulator and folder too. At least on the retrobat side of things. Retrobat was the only side of things that had that issue.
Can you copy this drive to a faster more advaced drive?
what if i have no sound on this emulator? what do i do?
So is there a cheap PC I can buy that will run this?
Does anyone know if I can plug this into my Xbox series s
I recently got a Rog Ally and started messing with emulation. Found these videos and these products and ended up getting a 2TB hdd off Amazon Warehouse for like $80 excellent condition, normal price was $140. More than 4 thousand games for me to instantly play and more for me to add since all the emulators are available me. I could have built my own but I just started emulating, and this hdd gave me that boost from the get go! I’m now messing with emulation on my iOS devices too now. Rog Ally and gaming PC just gave me more options for gaming, I love it!
Did the sdame with steam deck. Is so awsome to finally have good handheld gaming options.
Im learning about all these emulator boxes must recently as ive been trying to collect some old games and there's a bunch of consoles and systems I'm never going to be able to physically buy or afford to get everything that's on these devices. Its just amazing what they are doing, the cost of one of these is worth it as no way I could afford to buy all these different systems...and I don't have the time to do all the hunting anyway. Lol
12:32 Gameboy emulation is why I picked up the miyoo mini plus for my brother. It's not for me I'm more interested in gamecube 29:17, hydro thunder, wii, sonic and the black knight, sonic unleashed, mario and sonic at the olympic games, and mario galaxy 2
Hola, una pregunta: ¿es posible agregar el emulador de xbox360?
Nice build and great review. Launch box was the winner. I think for being 5TB they should of added more wrestling games on the LB side but the price is good. Most of those games in this drive are expensive on the market at this moment....I have a question, will original xbox and 360 games run on KAMRUI Mini PC AMD Ryzen 5 5600U 16GB RAM 512GB ? I think you reviewed it as Ace Magician mini pc or I may be wrong. Thanks.
Yes but only at native resolution
bro I don't think u can run xbox 360 games on that cpu, maybe not even ps3!...you need at least the 6800hx apu from amd!
@GiacomBono 5800h is doing fine on gamecube and ps3 for me. rdna2 aint a joke
what playstation 1 games does this have. ?
I'm usually disappointed with wii emulation for not including sonic and the black knight and not including the 2012 mario and sonic olympic games which is why I haven't grabbed one yet
what do you think of Kinhank i saw they have a 12 tb drive
Generally they're very similar you'll have a lot of duplicates usually but I haven't tried the 12tb setup only the smaller capacity ones
Can this be plugged into Arcade 1up?
Can it be connected to your hdtv
I would personally delete and remove almost all of that Game Night and its games and use that space to fill in some other systems and roms that I want instead of high disc space wasting games I have no interest in or would ever play and the very few I would play, I already own! lol
But this drive definitely seems like a great starting point for most people. I like that the Dreamcast, Gamecube and Saturn all have a lot of roms most of these are usually pretty bare.
I may pick one up and delete that Game Night section and fill in some Amiga, CD32 and some others I didn't see on here, would be perfect to give to my brothers as well
Can this be set up n connect 2 steam deck?
Comments already before the video starts? Huh xD
Hdd used inside the cassing? Really appreciate information on that.
Yeah it's a hdd
@RetroGamingGuy Really appreciate your reply, but I wanted to know the maker of the HDD, if it's WD, Seagate?
Simpson hit and run is there?
how many dreamcast games?
Cool
Can this be used on a steam deck?
any Phillips cdI games on there
I need help installing them got the hard-drive but installing and nothing working
Any luck I'm having the same problem
Does it have Need for Speed collection on it
I bought the drive using the link you provided and it didn’t even have the retrobat was not on there
You did not play any games. My unit must not be setup properly because I could not play most games. Any help would be much appreciated.
So what is the largest rom dump that one can simply purchase, the kinhank 2tb drive? or do you know of others that have more?
I reviewed a 5tb drive the other day I think it was Saturday. That was the biggest and it was actually pretty great too
@@RetroGamingGuy I just went through your whole upload list for the past month, I am not seeing the video unless your talking about the video this comment is in. this game drive at most has 63,000 games according to the links you supplied. the kinhank one I am referencing has 120,000 games. This is what I mean I don't mean capacity, I mean game count as in largest game count.
@@Phoenix_Corelargest has to be 96tb retrobeast
@@ilkeryoldas okay but how many games without repeats?
@@Phoenix_Core depends on what you count as repeats. Do different platforms, regions, mods, hacks, etc. count as repeat as well? In terms of a number, there could be anywhere between 250k to millions of games ever made, depending on how you count. Most drives you find online won't be curated though, so expect at least 2 to 5 times repeats in them, Kinhank being on the worse side. If you're looking for quality regardless of price, stick to Retrobeast, Hyperarcade, and Retroarayuz drives. If you're looking for price/performance drives, you'll find them on this channel, so check the links in the description for those :)
Thar caught my eye
Scrapping is just fine. Get a system with WiFi 6. It's a game collection. It's not going anywhere. Unless you delete it.
Also, the meat for retro is 8bit, 16bit, 32bit, PS2 along with handheld.
Not Mac emulation
Oh!! I saw the SNES collection. Scrapping could have been done better.
I'm assuming this is the free version on Launchbox.
How many light guns games?
Not sure of the exact number but a fair amount.
Like get me a one with switch game like to also lole to set my own up
Some of those c64 titles could be multiple disk loads and not dupes...
Yeah that's probably correct which would account for the high number.
Better go grab this fast..... NO WAY this won't get banned 😂
great vid, unfortunately all three links are either broken, invalid or stock unavailable
Thanks yeah that's the issue with these drives they are always popping up with new listings. Here's the latest version of this though. amzn.to/459cSdd
@@RetroGamingGuy thx pal. These are now flooding the market, as you said links become unusable.
Appreciate the speedy update and feedback. What pc do you recommend for these mate, eg Min specs. I've got a newer pc but don't want to risk it as it's my personal pc, so was going to get one of my old gaming PC's back up and running.
Can u add this to a nvidia shield? Sorry I'm a noob. 😂😂😂
No longer available...😔
price is high on this 5tb Hdd
u should have played a game from each system so we could see the gameplay quality. quantity and quality are not really the same thing
That's just not realistic for a TH-cam review video without it being several hours long
All this an no Panasonic 3d0
Seems extremely overpriced for an off brand HDD.
This is quick and simple but god damn, big numbers isn't always good, bunch of bloats.
🙂
