Fully equipped for any shooting scenario, the GY-HM200 is JVC's next generation camcorder! Whether you're shooting 4K Ultra HD, 4:2:2 Full HD, or streaming to the web, this camera does it all. Its integrated 12x optical zoom lens and 4K CMOS sensor, deliver stunning 4K Ultra HD recordings directly to SDHC/SDXC memory cards. And the camera is totally professional, complete with dual XLR audio inputs, HD-SDI (3G) and HDMI outputs, and is equipped with JVC's dual codec Advanced Streaming Technology. Connect to the internet via optional Wi-Fi or 4G LTE modem and stream HD instantly to USTREAM or any other destination while recording to the SDHC memory card. No other camcorder comes close to delivering so much in a complete, well equipped package.
Don't let its small size fool you! The GY-HM170 is a fully functional high performance 4K Ultra HD camcorder that's equally capable of shooting 4:2:2 Full HD at 50Mbps. Its integrated 12x optical zoom lens and 4K CMOS sensor, deliver razor sharp 4K Ultra HD recordings directly to SDHC/SDXC memory cards. It can even record on 2 cards simultaneously for instant backup or extended recording time. Output live 4K UHD camera signals through the built-in HDMI connector. And its tiny size allows you to shoot in venues that may be unfriendly to larger cameras.

I left my camera on tripod to shoot a continuous interview, but when I went back to watch the footage it was cut into multiple 3 minute clips. This really made for bad footage because important parts of the interview were now cut mid-sentence. Why does this camera do that?

Hmmm, I really do not have much experience with this camera, but that seems odd. Did you check all your settings? Here is a link to the manual: pro.jvc.com/pro/attributes/4k/manual/GY-HM200_170EN.pdf

There is a setting in the camera that allows you to disable the feature. The reason it has this feature has to do with file structure in the olden days- there was a max. size a file could be. SOme cards and some computers still use this file structure so the camera is designed to write files that have a maximum size. You will want to disable the feature so your clips are not broken up into smaller files. Try this: Menu>System>Record Set> 4gb spanning. You need to switch the spanning... Best of luck!

Hello! I have not heard that specific complaint, but will ask our friends at JVC if this is a known issue.

This is such an awful camera. Using it is the worst experience I have had and footage from an old Canon t3i looks better. Using the jvc gy-hm200hw for reference.
