Glad to hear that. I bought a replacement back for my g power 2022 and ripped the fingerprint ribbon accidentally so I'm going through the exact same thing.
When this part breaks (I broke my ribbon cable as you did) will the phone not power up? I think my phone is just shot...replaced the battery, power button up vol up down cable strip, still black screen white light so wonderingnow if the fingerprint broken copper colored cable prevents it from chargine and powering up? doubt it but I don't know....
It shouldn't. In between shooting this video and the next one where I replaced the thumbprint reader I was using it no problems. And I think it was a week or two before I replaced it? I'm not a phone expert but it sounds like it's shot. I bought a Razr a couple months ago finally replacing my G and it was acting super glitchy by the end. I personally would replace it if you can. It's a 4 year old model and past it's support life. Even if you send it out to repair it'll likely cost you as much or more to buy a new phone.
can anyone help me in these comments, my motorola g power 2022 fingerprint/powerbutton has been getting extremely hot. the second i power up the phone. I believe it is short circiting the finger scanner.
In my first video I ripped the finger print cable while changing the charging port. I used the phone for a couple weeks no problem with that cable ripped until I got a new one. So in my experience no it shouldn't make the phone dead.
Hello, how do u know if the cable fits ur phone mine is a Huawei P Smart 2019. Could u send a link to it if they're all the same
I just typed in my model phone and ordered the parts I needed. Usually these things are model specific.
Did you ever get it to work properly?
Yes I did! Just some recalibration and it worked great for a year and a half until I got my Razor a few months ago

I replaced mine today on a moto g play 2021 ... it shows up in the devices but when i set it up it doesnt detect my finger swipes.
If I remember correctly, I had to go through the setup process through Android itself like I was setting it up the first time.

does anyone have a definative answer , will a missing, or in my case a ripped fingerprint sensor make the phone dead , will not do anything. Anyone?
