    Man this is just great stuff,
    The part Chris said that the more you know how things are always done, the more you are limited to it.
    There's a level of self awareness to reach to not fall into that mind cage.
    Thank you @TheFutur

    After reading the win without pitching manifesto, I think Chris always does his maximum to embody and really personify all the ideas he learned from the book, combined with socratic selling. Always so genuine.
    Thanks for the great content as always to Chris and the team❤.

    Just a thought: Chris is like a sensei who shows the way to unlock what is already inside us.
    What I would love to see-instead of him still teaching in these role plays -is seeing Chris’s students finally “win” them. Seeing them clueless after all these years (although the students aren’t the same) is disappointing for old followers like me.
    It’ll be amazing to show those who have mastered Chris’s teachings (I know there are many).
    With all the footage The Futur already has, it’ll be cool to see how these students evolve in their negotiations over the years (before/after).

    Very similar to what Chris Voss says. Everyone has an underlying desire to be understood and accepted. To fulfill this desire we need to focus on what the other person is saying and understand where they are coming from (empathy).

      I'm in an interesting position now. I'm a full time in house designerd but I'm tired of the work and not getting paid enough. I'm learning that the real $ is in working for yourself (maybe as a stepping stone to my own business). I'm planning on trying to get some clients. Since I'm not reliant on clients at the moment, I could be selective with who i work with and be bold about pricing. What i need to figure out is how to attract clients.

      Gut punch?

    • @PUMPINGSHARK
      @PUMPINGSHARK ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, quick story - I've been a "personal trainer on a side" - I've only trained people in person - for a 100$ lowest as my last client and tbh I told that person - that price - because I wasn't motivated to for less money - he agreed - so I trained him for a 100$ per session for a while --- Where I get stuck is - whenever I tried to systemize the pricing for personal training - make the prices so low - just above market where I am no longer interested myself. ( because I find myself trying to fit the square ) So this gives me the gut punch that WHEN i decide to price on a client by client basis - while negotiating for my worth - is a way more practical and honest approach of - conducting business. All this time writing and thinking, and creating structure came to this point thanks to this gut punch of a reminder. The pioneers way @@thefutur

    What happens when you charge $50,000 and subcontract the job to Aaron for $5000, then he flakes out and doesn’t show up for the shoot? Are you able to go and do his job for him to preserve you reputation? This happened to me several times early in my career with subcontractors, so I rarely use them any more.

    • @thefutur
      @thefutur  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great questions. We have been there before as well. As Chris late business coach Keir would say, "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail" having someone on stand by is essential, along with vetting out your contractors beforehand. If you're charging enough, you should have a good amount of capital to be able to hire someone just as good to fill in the project.

    Confidence, connection and/or curiosity are not enough at the end of the day if the creativity/result falls flat for the required project. Apologies it sounds negative, but it feels like there is an arrogance that needs to be attached to ask for what one believes one’s worth that’s a lot more than others$. I’m not willing to overpromise and I fear underdelivering, I definitely see I lack the inner strength to be arrogant or big about myself. Until I explore and do the job, I can’t promise it will be the perfect solution for them (even though I do believe I have a solid skillset). It’s like being punished because you can’t play the chitchat game.
