Your videos have been a great blessing to me I'm currently a game design student at Full Sail University I was just recently having problems with lighting with one of my projects this video helped me fix it
I would love to see a good in depth tutorial of realistic lighting in Unity and how to avoid problems such as lights trespassing walls and stuff like that. Keep the good work up man! I'm loving your content lately
I am crying now :') When I started to study 3D graphics, I tried to make a similar scene, but it looked much worse despite I used 3ds Max and its best renderer. Now you can see interactively 3d graphics much better quality without the need for render it. And it's amazing!
Brackey is always uploading very useful videos that helps me a lot in Unity, really appreciate the tutorial, wished this could work on Unity 2019 and beyond.
you're one of the coolest game tutor and its really amazing to make a website dev assets. Its really really cool, specially the feather of pay what you want and mentioning the credit of developers/modelers. Keep doing great work and wish you all the best.
hey brackeys, love your stuff, but like, I gotta mention that you ALWAYS pronounced Vignette wrong.... it's not an english word, it's pronounced "Vin-yet"
whenever I aply the volumetric light rederer to a camera it makes the camera display an upside down image instead of the normal orientation of the camera
It's not working for me, the camera appears upside-down and it doesn't do anything once I press play. It's just the same scene but flipped upside-down. Any help?
Trying to access pass 4, but material 'Sandbox/VolumetricLight' subshader (0) has only 1 valid passes. UnityEngine.Material:SetPass(Int32) VolumetricLight:SetupDirectionalLight(VolumetricLightRenderer, Matrix4x4) (at Assets/Volumetric Lights/Scripts/VolumetricLight.cs:382) VolumetricLight:VolumetricLightRenderer_PreRenderEvent(VolumetricLightRenderer, Matrix4x4) (at Assets/Volumetric Lights/Scripts/VolumetricLight.cs:190) VolumetricLightRenderer:OnPreRender() (at Assets/Volumetric Lights/Scripts/VolumetricLightRenderer.cs:310) It is not work...have no idea
My rendered image mirrors vertically when i enable the Volumetric Renderer on the camera. can't figure out why, seems its only using the default rendering path.
This seems like a really cool tutorial but I think your demoscene should have been darker. Like, at least twilight. Because the scene in the video is too bright to really show off the effect. Anyway, this seems like a really good tutorial. I look forward to trying it out myself latter.
Hey Brackeys, I was watching your C# tutorial series which you made about 2 years ago :P I was thinking it would be cool if you did a similar tutorial, but mostly aimed at game development. I know it might sound dumb but it would be very helpful for such noobs like me :P
Hi Brackeys. Thanks for the tut. I'm new to Unity but pretty well versed in Maya. I'm trying to add this volumetric lighting but it still doesn't seem to work. I added the script to the light, added it to the camera, pressed play, adjusted the Scattering Coef, I even did what was mentioned in the comments below of adding Sandox/volumetric ligths.. Still nothing. I thought maybe it's like Maya and it needs also Fog Volume, but I noticed in the video that you disable the Dust Storm and it still works. What am I missing? (I'm sure it's some kind of newbie thing, sorry)
Hey this is really sweet, but I gotta ask why you chose a brightly lit scene to demonstrate volumetric lights? A scene more like that darkly lit one in the beginning would have done a lot more to demonstrate the amazingness of this!
Hey Brackeys , i want to ask you about the volumetric lights. why my volumetric light not appeared on my build EXE game ? but appeared on my game scene on unity. Thank you !
@Brackeys Hi, I've been fooling around bit with the package, imported it in my own project and everything works. But the volumetric lighting just doesn't shows when I build ( windows standalone ). Is there something to take care of to make this work?
Hi brackeys, or whomever is reading, Ive been doing computer science for the past 3 years for gcse and a level and my teacher recommended unity to learn game development (which is career i want to follow) which led me to you. i was wonder though... where do I even start! this is mainly a problem about not knowing which of your tutorials to watch first and stuff like that but any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance
Very Nice! You make awesome tutorials! Thanks Brackeys! Another day I was trying to import a model into Unity, but I was using glossiness for a nice ilumination effect. How could we do it in Unity? I have to write shaders? :( Looks like the Standard Shader doesn't suport it using maps as Unreal does. I didn't found the information on the web, can you help me? :D
Thank you for the video, man! Merry Christmas! Could I use this volumetric effect in Forward Rendering? I work with SteamVR and it would be cool if I could use this effect on it. Greets!
does anyone know where the environment is? For the sample scene that I have, there is just a brown mesh on which the vehicles are. The environment looks very cool so I was wondering where it is.
Someone managed to make it work on URP? Or to find an alternative? All the solutions I've found on the internet are not as reliable as this one (or are paid).
Well there are a lot of things. You can Blender if you are a beginner in modeling and you can use Wings3D and SketchUp. and there are more like AutoDesk Maya and 3DS Max but they cost money and there free trailsof them, but i suggest using Blender because its good for beginners (but its a little bit hard for me).
When u look through this volumetric light, it also lights up the skybox which is far behind in the background. Is there a way to make it exclude the skybox?
Assets/Volumetric Lights/Scripts/VolumetricLight.cs(98,19): error CS1061: Type `Light' does not contain a definition for `type' and no extension method `type' of type `Light' could be found. Are you missing an assembly reference? What should i do to this???
the fact they understand that people starting off with making games won't have a lot of money.. thank-you for making it free or pay what you want! :)
i was about to comment about that, indeed that was pretty nice of them! I really hope they'll be able to fund the website
Udemy Ad Guy: "Coding your own games is easier than you think!..."

so damn true

Exactly man XD
David D lol...those tutorials provided aren't even better than this ones :)
Max Pare lol I doubt they teach anything that actually helps

the video is not finished but i already subscribed !! you're definitely the best !!
Brackey is always uploading very useful videos that helps me a lot in Unity, really appreciate the tutorial, wished this could work on Unity 2019 and beyond.
I always feel like Brackeys is only ever showing us ~1% of his power
yeah me too
you're one of the coolest game tutor and its really amazing to make a website dev assets. Its really really cool, specially the feather of pay what you want and mentioning the credit of developers/modelers. Keep doing great work and wish you all the best.
I...

these...
tutorials!!!!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Almost dropped $40 on a volumetric light alternative before i stumbled across this! Subbed
Merry Christmas everyone! :D
Merry Christmas! :)
Brackeys could you please make a video explaining all about uv maping/ projection/ baking . and importing 3d fbx objects , materials into unity
Merry christmas ;D
You are amazing, keep up the great work! Thank you for explaining the lighting setup!
I love this guy only person in the world who helps poor people when I release my game and i make money I am gonna donate to this guy.
Thanks man, I appreciate it :)
Brackeys, great tutorial though the camera flips uside down any help on that?
Merry Christmas brackeys
Merry Christmas bro!
Wow! This is great! I highly recommend this to all unity people. It doesn't even need to be baked!! DOOOOOOD.
Do you have a backround in teaching or is that just a natural talent?
Haha thanks! Actually I don't have a background in teaching ;)
hey brackeys, love your stuff, but like, I gotta mention that you ALWAYS pronounced Vignette wrong.... it's not an english word, it's pronounced "Vin-yet"
09:00 - 12:00 is about volumetric light
Awesome tutorial as always Brackeys!
The website is amazing, congratz! :)
I had been trying to achieve this since so long. Thanks a ton! :D
Dont forget its just.........A GAME MATH THEORY!!! Thanks for the awesome tutorial!
whenever I aply the volumetric light rederer to a camera it makes the camera display an upside down image instead of the normal orientation of the camera
I have this same problem :(
Ok, I fixed this by 1: Making sure there is only 1 camera in the scene, 2: Using Deferrd rendering
Try turning off Unity's standard MSAA (and replace it with AA script from the standard assets if you want).
just rotate the camera upside down, youll be fine
@@ferds814 ...
For some reason, the volumetric lighting isn't showing up once I build the project -- any suggestions?
Got it! Edit>Project Settings>Graphics, Always Included Shaders: add Hidden/BitAdd, and Hidden/BilateralBlur. Works like a charm.
Thanks for updating this once you found out. Really helped me out!
I cant seem to find those shaders, got any tips?
+ Sandbox/volumetricLight for me, or it doesn't works
You just saved my project mate. Thanks a lot!
uow man, this is high quality video
You named the left light right and the right light left (try saying that 10 times fast)
Nice video, and cool stuff you have there :)
New drinking game. drink every time Brackeys advertises his patreon or an asset pack.
Very good website and tutorial. Thank you for the "pay what you want" Very good idea :D
Amazing tutorial as always. Thanks mate.
It's not working for me, the camera appears upside-down and it doesn't do anything once I press play. It's just the same scene but flipped upside-down. Any help?
Trying to access pass 4, but material 'Sandbox/VolumetricLight' subshader (0) has only 1 valid passes.
UnityEngine.Material:SetPass(Int32)
VolumetricLight:SetupDirectionalLight(VolumetricLightRenderer, Matrix4x4) (at Assets/Volumetric Lights/Scripts/VolumetricLight.cs:382)
VolumetricLight:VolumetricLightRenderer_PreRenderEvent(VolumetricLightRenderer, Matrix4x4) (at Assets/Volumetric Lights/Scripts/VolumetricLight.cs:190)
VolumetricLightRenderer:OnPreRender() (at Assets/Volumetric Lights/Scripts/VolumetricLightRenderer.cs:310)
It is not work...have no idea
Merry Christmas!
Is there a up-to-date package for this? :)
Great tutorial, I wonder where did you got the rock assets?
thank you
And merry Christmas! :)
Awesome! Thank you for this great tutorial. It was very helpful!
Thanks brackeys love you man
Yeah.... i definitely love your channel and your content, is awesome

The "Pay what you want" button is broken (newest Firefox, default zoom)
Thank you so much! You saved my game!
Hey can you make a video about filters for the camera : )
Would really help me out.
thanks for making some of the asset free ,man you are like mesiah to poor devs XD
Men you are great!!! thanks from mexico!
Hey Brackeys, I was watching your C# tutorial series which you made about 2 years ago :P

Hi! Where is the video that is referenced in the beginning of this video where the scene is created?
Hi Brackeys. Thanks for the tut. I'm new to Unity but pretty well versed in Maya. I'm trying to add this volumetric lighting but it still doesn't seem to work. Thanks for the Tutorial.
Could you please do a tutorial on the movement of these vehicles - especially the one with a pivot point in the middle of it, thanks!
Are your Camera Scripts in The Dev Assets packages? And can you make a tutorial on them they look awesome!
Hey this is really sweet, but I gotta ask why you chose a brightly lit scene to demonstrate volumetric lights? A scene more like that darkly lit one in the beginning would have done a lot more to demonstrate the amazingness of this!
Go Jul og godt Nytår du gamle ;)
Thank you so much! This was excellent!
Great tutorial. Any way to make the effect available in the editor? :S only seem to work when you press play...
Cool tut, thanks! Btw, which terrain asset pack are you using?
Hake volumetric lighting using the new particle shader (distance based fade) is very useful for low-end platforms
Hey Brackeys , i want to ask you about the volumetric lights. why my volumetric light not appeared on my build EXE game ? but appeared on my game scene on unity. Thank you !

Honestly, you can start with any series. I guess the best ones are the news one.
ah ok thanks for the help... merry xmas
Cerry Mhristmas! lol
Handsome Jack just watch some! Find a project and learn what you need to complete it. If you like it keep going
Definitely use the unity documentation, its your best friend!
I love your videos
Hi there! anyone know if the plugin works fine with Unity 2018.x? I was looking something like this for VR project
Mine don't work but I used "Density Volume" with nice results, this is for UNITY HDRP 2019.2.xx. Oculus rift cameras, render it well :)
Amazing effect :)
Thanks :))
Hi, loved the tutorial (highest quality on TH-cam) but i cannot find the environment asset, where is it? help pls
The real tutorial starts at 8:53
After setting up lights
instant subscribe.
Nice Bro !
nice tutorial
Hey Brackeys, i really enjoy your videos. Can make a turorial about Wheel colliders in unity 5.
on android black screen with this backlight. Does anyone know how to fix this?
really nice video
Very Nice! You make awesome tutorials! Thanks Brackeys!
Another day I was trying to import a model into Unity, but I was using glossiness for a nice ilumination effect. How could we do it in Unity? I have to write shaders? :(

It's only rendering the volumetric light within the left eye (tested with the HTC Vive). If anyone knows how to fix that for Unity VR, be my guest.
try in VolumetricLight.cs
delete line 361
_commandBuffer.SetRenderTarget(renderer.GetVolumeLightBuffer());
_commandBuffer.DrawMesh(mesh, world, _material, 0, pass);
and add
renderer.GlobalCommandBuffer.DrawMesh(mesh, world, _material, 0, pass);
@Brackeys:
Just wanted to let you know that the given link for the Unity-Package is broken!
Thank you for the video, man! Merry Christmas!

Under lighting settings there is a tab Called environment, there is a fog tab. :)
This makes me want to make cool vehicle assets. Except I don't know how. What's the best way to start learning? Blender?
Well there are a lot of things.

and there are more like AutoDesk Maya and 3DS Max but they cost money and there free trailsof them,

Do you need Unity PRO for this? cant seem to find the Global Fog component
Thx for your work ! The link for unitypackage is down :'(
Very well! Thank!
Hey, since your old webpage doesn't work anymore, how can people find your compiled files?
Please do tutorials from devassets like the weapons pack :D.
Did anyone of you got the issue that volumetric light is working well in editor but not in windows build?
I do :( And still not found the solution... Do you ?
you just have to add the shaders to the always concluded shaders in the project settings
When u look through this volumetric light, it also lights up the skybox which is far behind in the background. Is there a way to make it exclude the skybox?
How does this function in URP? Or do i need the standart unity camera?
idk why i am watching this. but it sure is Awsm.
Hi
Love your videos
Can you please put this landscape for download on devassets?
Assets/Volumetric Lights/Scripts/VolumetricLight.cs(98,19): error CS1061: Type `Light' does not contain a definition for `type' and no extension method `type' of type `Light' could be found. Are you missing an assembly reference?
What should i do to this???
hey dude u r making cool videos just keep on making such kinds of videos . hoping to find some help from u
super - thanks. very helpfull
Package is no longer available :(
the camera component forces my camera turning 180 degrees in the x axis in play mode, any idea of why this happens?
Alas the Unity package doesn't seem to be available any longer. Any chance of this returning?
could it be used in my game without conscent like as in being published?
Hi:
In VR only one eye renders the Volumetric , any suggestion?
Thanks in advance
