there's something very reassuring about this video. I can't really explain why. As a 52 year old woman who is struggling to put her sock on at the moment due to arthritis in one hip, and wondering about a hip replacement, seeing a young dude in his trackies doing gentle exercises just makes me feel okay! sounds crazy I know! This is my new favourite channel btw! :)
Hello, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us Angi. Arthritis affects people of all ages and it can be reassuring knowing you are not alone. We're really glad that you are enjoying our channel. Take care.
Thank you Jay, have tried lot's of hip exercises on you tube, pushing myself thinking I needed to do more, often having more pain and having to take it easy for a few days. You are the only physiotherapist that I have come across to put the emphasise on gentle, and it makes such a difference, thank you so much.
These movements are great!I have right hip arthritus and see my physio once a month for her to 'do her thing'.Saw her the other day after doing these exercises for 2 weeks and she said how much better my hip was compared to the last visit.I've been walking with much more freedom and less pain than I have for ages...thanks guys, brilliant vid!
Thanks, Jay and James. We are experiencing fall weather changes here in Colorado Rocky Mountains region and I am feeling it this morning. We have one of our 10-year-old granddaughter spending the night for her special birthday overnighter. I needed to be able to move and feel better. Thank you for your help this morning. I will be working out with you again. Also, I appreciated your non-rushed, gentle approach.
Perfect, I have never seen such a wonderful way to sow exercise which is easy effective and enjoyable. No fuss no lecturing and just listening it self is so comforting. Thank you for sharing and well done with your skills. With much appreciation
Thank you Jay! Just started doing these exercised to alleviate symptoms of femoroacetabular impingement. Appreciate that you made this available to all.
What a wonderful discovery! Jay wonderful exercises to get pain relief from my left hip joint. This is my third day in doing the exercises and they are vey gentle on my hip joint causing me to want to do it everyday as I get wonderful pain relief. I am hoping these exercises will strengthen my hip joint to the point that I will no longer need to take pain medication. Bless you, Jay... Thank you!
Thank you guys. I am happy to say that I already do all of these on the video, in my daily routing stretched to start the morning off. The only difficulty I have is lifting the Pelvis up as high as shown in the video, because of the extensive metal work in the fused spine.
Hello, we're glad to hear that you are keeping active. In regards to the exercises in the video, we always recommend that you listen to your body and work at your own pace. Take care.
Simply brilliant - funny how long its taken for me to find a routine that seems right for me - when I first started watching I thought it maybe too easy, I still fancy myself as still quite fit around the hip (post arthritis in hip diagnoses), but no, these are very focused and strangely potentially suitable for everyone. Thanks a mill Guys!
Hi, Jay. thank you so much for making such useful videos. I am really benefitting by not only watching but doing these exercises. i wish i could come across these exercises which have changed my life. I started to have this feeling that now life will be just moving aroung in the four walls of my home, no hope of going out forever. But now I am having very relieved from the pain as wel as hopeful of going out and doing things without much pain. THANKS ONCE AGAIN. Love from India
Hello, thank you so much for your feedback. We're really happy to learn that the exercises are so beneficial to you. We hope you'll carry on using them, keep at it. All the best. 💛
I love your videos! I have one small question. I'm 70 and I have arthritis in both my hips . I have been doing PT exercises on and off for last year and was active until 6 weeks ago when my cat tripped me and i fell on my tile floor. I was in the hospital for 2.5 weeks with a fractured hip and surgery . They placed a metal plate and inserted a rod down my femur on my right side. I am on blood thinners and needed a pint of blood. Thus the longer hospital stay. I struggle with physical therapy and trying to walk since then. I feel much of this is fear of losing my balance and falling again. I feel I could get back on track with this video but do I need to do anything different? Any additional videos I should be watching? I am so glad I found you!
Good video. I have avoided squats because of the lack of cartilage I have in both my hips. I would assume that's a bone on bone exercise. My legs have attrified some so now I do forward and backward leg extensions with weights. Can I do squats??? Or will that make condition worse? The other exercises are great!!! And I will work them into my routine
Hi, firstly to say thank you so much for these videos - they've massively helped me and are the only exercises I've found that are manageable to do most days. I'd be grateful if you could let me know if I can do these exercises if I've got hip impingement, or if this wouldn't be advisable? Thank you!
Hi Elizabeth thank you so much for your comment, it's great to hear that you're enjoying them. We wouldn't be able to advise about that, please do speak to your doctor about if you're not sure. Take care.
The ist four exercises the physio at my doctors gave me to work on.ive been following on this website. I'm sure the physio told me to do these once a day is thatcorrect
Great exercises I am 85 suffering with osteoarthritis of the hip and can manage them quite well. What exercises would you recommend to do on a long haul flight to Australia from England. I am treating myself to Business class as this may be my last time .to do this journey to see my darling family!! Hope you can help
Hi Joyce, thanks for reaching out. Great to hear you are managing the exercises well. Have a look at these full body exercises which you might find useful, some of them can be done seated: www.versusarthritis.org/about-arthritis/exercising-with-arthritis/full-body-stretching/. We hope this helps. Take care.
Hello, these hip exercises are recommended for anyone living with arthritis or any other musculoskeletal condition. Remember to exercise within your own comfort level and check with a Healthcare Professional if you have any further concerns about exercising.
Had a hip replacement about 16 weeks ago and still have lots of pain trying to walk . I think these will be ideal to help me get a bit more mobility as I have two dogs to walk. Do I just work through the pain? x
Hi Jeff, thanks for your message. It's important to listen to your body and if you're unsure about some of the exercises in the videos, please do consult your doctor. Take care.
A good presentation, but spoilt by the choice of black garments against a dark purple background. Very difficult to see from a distance on a small screen.
The back ground music is not necessary, especially for older people who have difficult hearing. It is very distracting and nothing to do with the exercise but would be suitable for a meditation session !!
Hi Maria, thanks for your feedback, we have only added music to the beginning of the video, but we're sorry to hear that you find that distracting. We'll share this with our video producers. We hope you managed to find the session helpful despite the distracting music. Take care.

@versus arthritis - are these exercises ok when suffering from hip dysplasia - I’m finding it impossible to walk without pain 😢
I had a hip replacement 11 weeks ago. Can I do all of these exercises now? Or are there any I should leave out?
Hi Jeff, thanks for your message. It's important to listen to your body and if you're unsure about some of the exercises in the videos, please do consult your doctor. Take care.

Why they so caked up
Oh heck, belly still hampering them knee hugs!
