    This was the best detailed view of this process, never worked on cars and this took me 30 mins thanks to your video. I would note that those who do this should take extreme care when removing the Faux wood panel, this piece cracks extremely easily when replacing. towards the top end of the piece I have a small crack now that no-one will notice but will bug me until I replace it.

    Omgosh! Thank you soooo

    Awesome video! Thanks! You just saved me 600 bucks. I watched the video and did everything you did and it worked. I'm a novice, so it took me two hours, but who cares.

    Thanks Brian, worked like a charm. There was one extra screw holding the door panel on my 2005 - behind the door latch.

    Great video. I think I can do this! Just ordered the part. Anytime something that breaks on my X3 is something I rarely use. By mistake I hit the rear window switch and heard a load noise. Now the window won't stay up. Luckily it's only 2" and it's indoors. Wish me luck!

    • @davidhalley9795
      @davidhalley9795 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I guess the panels vary over the years. It's not on the video but on mine there's another screw behind the door latch. From there it went well until I pulled off the panel. It was tough. So tough I ripped the speaker wire out for the base speaker. Not only that I but broke the connector. It was quite short. Other than that the window works great! Onto finding a connector.

    I found your video to be extremely helpful, however you forgot to mention that there is a fourth T27 door panel mounting bolt underneath the door lever handle. Anyway, thank you for all the valuable information in your video, it saved me a lot of time and money!

    I’ve fitted the regulator and tested the motor - it works down, but will only go up it I do the double up click. The single up click doesn’t do anything. Any idea why?

      wyattoneable well German cars have cheap window regulator and this is a common repair.

    Great video. Definitely helped with installing replacement part. However the window switch is not as easy as you make it look. There are two plastic holding prongs which are part of the switch keeping the switch locked in place concealed from initial view. They got damaged when I removed the window switch.Hmmm....you didn’t mention that. Have to buy a new window switch $70 plus tax.

      Yep, do not remove your window switch like he did. I broke mine as well.

    After replacing the regulator (prior to fitting glass) the window only goes up with the double click (where it goes all the way). Pulling up once does nothing? Any idea why?

    Outstanding, very detailed video. Two minor details that might be helpful for others in the future: lining up the regulator up/ down white plastic carrier was a pain to get it to click in place. The second is lining up the door cover with actuator of the door square button. I taped it down to the door to be able to get it through the slot by the door frame.
    Otherwise, it is an easy fix.Thank you for the video.

    My window rolls up, but then comes down halfway. Is this the regulator that’s broken or is it a different problem?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Try rolling the window up and hold the switch in the up position for 10 second then roll the window down and hold the switch down for 10 seconds. That will reprogram it. Let me know if it works.

      Branden DeTemple if only the Cable broke then you should be able to reuse the motor.

    Hey Brian, I recently traded my six year old Snap On cordless impact in for the 3/8s M18 Milwaukee as my batteries were starting to wear out and I’d heard all the craze with the Milwaukee products (it was actually you who pushed me over the edge)
    The problem is, it lacks a lot of power. It will do most light duty things, but won’t break suspension fasteners or caliper mounting bracket bolts like my old Snap On one would
    Do you think the issue could be with the fact that I’m only running a 2.0ah battery? Or does the amp hour only effect run time? Would really appreciate some insight. Thinking of trading back to a new CT761 if I don’t get this figured out

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheMillennialMechanic more amps equals more power for sure. For suspension type work I like to use the mid Torque. You could buy just the tool only for that type of jobs. By buying the threeeights made to work in a couple batteries you’re still cheaper than the snap on single tool

    • @automedic9781
      @automedic9781 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      How to Automotive yeah see I don’t have a reason for the mid torque cause I have my air tools for 1/2in. My Snap On never had a problem pulling most anything, control arms, brakes, exhaust work etc
      I’ve been reading on it that the amp hours only effect battery life but I’ll try upgrading to see if I get more power. It’s a good little gun for taking intake and exhaust manifolds off, and timing covers, it just doesn’t have the versatility that my old Snap On did

    • @automedic9781
      @automedic9781 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      How to Automotive I also did get a really good deal on the Milwaukee at $190 for the tool, the one 2.0ah battery and the charger

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheMillennialMechanic 190 is a good deal. Milwaukee is coming out with a mid Torque 3/8 Gun with 650 foot pounds of Torque. It will be out in September.

    • @automedic9781
      @automedic9781 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      How to Automotive i just might have to trade up for that then. How’s the size, similar to the current one? I love my M12 impact driver, that’s why I figured I’d try the impact gun in the first place
