    Just purchased a brand new Focus Titanium mild hybrid 125 auto1litre ecoboost. The driving experience and refinement is so impressive as is the excellent build quality. Love the 13 inch infotainment screen and the beautifully simplistic layout of the cabin. I thought my 9 year old Fiesta Titanium ecoboost that I've just traded in was a great car, but the Focus really is in the next league up! Had a mk 1 Focus for 9 years also, and loved that! The latest Focus should be on your shortlist if like myself you have no interest in suv/crossovers. So glad I got mine now, bearing in mind the imminent date looms when the Focus will no longer be made! Such a shame really to have to say goodbye to two classics, the other of course being the Fiesta as of June 2023.

    Nice colour and nice styling and the interior is a big step up in quality.
    There is a huge jump in price for the full fat ST version but that’s probably down to Irish tax system.

    Mark. !00% agree! A fantastic piece of kit! As you know i have been 'banging' this drum ever since i started watching your excellent channel. Why buy an SUV Lifestyle whatever your neighbour has.... when you can buy a Ford Focus/Fiesta or indeed the new 308/208? And Ford are killing it off! Why? Super efficient 1 litre... engine. 'Cheap' to run and own. [What about the new ST? Nothing handles like a Ford! A proper fun driver's car! I could go on! So when aredrivers going to revert back to a driver's car? This is the answer! Certainly on my list to replace my VW Up... Thanks Mark. More reviews like this and perhaps people will start to listen!

    37 k is madness. I bought a brand new 1.0 eco boost st line in 2020 for 24500k. I loved the car and was brilliant to drive but traded it in for a 2 year old 330e msport pro pack 2 months ago as I couldnt justify paying that sort of money for the same car with a face lift so decided to put a few quid more on top and go with the Beemer. 😊

    • @ryanstafford7776

      I think the "eco-boom" engines were sorted out in about 2016/17

    • @snipturn
      @snipturn 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The original coolant problem causing ecoboom I believe was found to be a hose that was perishing sooner than it should of and was replaced on a recall, however see my reply below about the current situation.

    • @snipturn
      @snipturn 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @ryanstafford7776 Still an issue on cars up to 2018/19. The normal timing chain was replaced with a "wet belt" in which runs through the oil, this if not serviced properly could lead to the disintergration of the belt which breaks up, clogs the oil pump filter and starves the engine of oil causing it to fail completely and meaning a new engine is required. Ford say the belts should last around 100,000 miles but some are going as low as 37,000 miles. The latest engines with mhev now have a chain instead of a wet belt, however the oil pump is still a wet belt and in cars as young as 4 years with 25,000 miles some have been failing...having said that those cars seemed to have had little or no servicing at all which could have prevented these issues. The mhev running all the time may reduce the wear and tear on the oill pump belt as the engine doesn't need to work so hard as the electric part assists the enging meaning less strain, but only time will tell. Just search for Ford wet belt issues and you'll see all the problems people have had, hence the nick name ecoboom.
