UK law has stated it's now illegal to operate your mobile phone whilst driving... Yet we have to prod at these stupid touch screens and take our eyes off of the road to control the temperature. Utterly ridiculous. Poor choice for cost reduction. The pre facelift version is perfect. You can FEEL the detents for changing the temperature. Not some stupid slider.
100% agree. I was looking at this thinking I'm so glad I have the 2020 model. The simplicity means no need to take eyes off road.
ended up purchasing the pre facelift model myself a couple of weeks back for this exact reason. I prefer the analogue controls over the digital. What happens when the screen freezes and nothing works!

You should check out tesla. Glove box opening is 3 menus deep. You have to accept cookies, say your not a robot before you can do anything 😂
I love the new screen but I hate that they had to remove the analog climate controls! They could have them both and once you get into maps have a bigger map view because the climate can hide! As for the digital drivers screen I still find it not up to the other brands. It it slow and laggy! I prefer the analog gages with that blue color.

The sync 4 screen is not slow and laggy! thats why its not a big deal to have the digital climate control. My older car (skoda) had a verry laggy screen.. i hated the digital climate buttons in that one.
@@redd5303 I think you did not read well. I said that the drivers digital cockpit was laggy because it is. I spent 1 week with it and couldn't stand it anymore. The leon screen was 1000% better. No lagg and it also had better brightness controls. Also there is no customization in ford. Thre drivers screen shows exactly the same info as the analog gages and the small screen in the middle. As for the sync 3 and 4 they don't lagg. I find them much better than the multimedia screens in VAG group till this day.

New model looks like an Astra and I'm not keen on the badge in the grille. Does anyone know why they've stopped doing full leather seats in the ST's? It's the only thing stopping me upgrading to the pre-facelift ST from my 2017 one.

Me too, I like my pre facelift st line much better than the new design. It stood out much more. The new design kind of gets more in line with designs of lots of other manufacturers.

I've had mine on order since the start of September and still waiting. Aftwr they changed my dates 3 times, ive been told that production date is next month🤞
@@arweljones2230 that’s good they are starting production again in June not that far away. I was told wholesale date of july. Don’t know what that means.

I have the st line x 155hp mild hybrid and it’s fantastic , apart from the seats I prefer the look of the old one !

I have the 2021 ST line X in black. 1.5 diesel. Great car. I'm a Ford guy, I even have an 88 Escort but when you compare the interior set up to something like a new Kia, it doesn't match up. That was hard for me to say by the way.

I have the 2020 ST LineX 1.5 182bhp it's the perfect daily couldn't ask for anything else much nicer than the facelift exception on interior

Didn't even notice they moved the badge! Nice video you've created too :) Climate controls imo should stay analog (twisty knobs, the dual climate control from previous, even mk3.5 was perfect)

@@PeoplesAutomotiveGroup In certain conditions like absolutely chucking down on the motorway, You just want to use muscle memory reaching over and pressing / twisting since you'll need full focus on the road, traffic, rain, standing water ect :) I never used the digital heating controls through sync 3, used the analogue controls every time

I have the 2019 Focus STline 1.5 petrol turbo (standard engine across the range accept the ST) The new face lift is quite good. Climate control dials simply make more practical sense.
Unfortunately for Australia, Ford are dropping the entire Focus and Fiesta lineup and putting their focus (no pun intended) on the SUV and Ford Ranger. I'm no ford fanboy but the C segment here is disappearing and with that choice is reduced.
Saw two recent reviews,one for Volvo and one for Ford. Both praised a lot but both reviews said these cars will kill you due to the fact you have to take your eyes off the road so often to fiddle with touch screens.
The car is a future disaster. All that 'fiddling' with a screen will take your eyes off the road. It only takes a few seconds to die in a car crash. Imagine the "good excuse" the driver will have though after the accidental running over of a child etc. "honest officer...I was only trying to get the air temp set JUST right.."
Yeah right. People can't be bothered to put even their seat belt on BEFORE driving off, Im SURE they will leave the screen alone once they have started driving the car. I really hope this is just a 'concept' version and NOT a real car for sale. Whoever thought of this "improved" design should be out of work..PRONTO!!.
It has been down tech. Standard stuff on my fiesta vignale are optional extras on this. I have ordered this exact model, but an automatic. Reversing camera £400 optional extra I paid for, standard on my fiesta.

Any one had a problem with the reverse on the pre face lift model? I have had 5 syncros changed a new gear box and clutch all done by Ford on the warranty and Ford still haven't got a clue what's going wrong. It's the 5th time it's in with them now woth the same problem. It's a 69 plate Ford focus st line x petrol Manuel with only 28k on clock. Waiting on a field engineer to look at it. Just wondering if it's happen to anyone else????
Our second gear keeps slipping, gear box is rubbish. 18,000 miles

Thank you for the reply. Just wondering if you or anyone at your branches has heard of this? Mines at A Hendy Ford in Marchwood in Hampshire. They have had my vehicle all 5 times this fault has happened.
It's been 7 weeks now since my vehicle has gone to them. Waiting on the Ford field engineer and one of the parts which still hasn't arrived. Just an absolute nightmare.
Improvements all well and good; just a shame nobody can actually get a 2022 facelift Focus, been waiting over 6 months for mine already now and neither my dealer or Ford themselves have any idea when it will be delivered (not even built yet…) 😡. My advice is don’t bother if you actually want to see the car you ordered in a timely manner !

I agree. I have an ST Line Vignale (auto) ordered since Feb. I also think that they are putting less tech in as standard and everything is an option. £31000 car and a reversing camera is an option!!!
@@PeoplesAutomotiveGroup unfortunately these are complete lies, I’ve been told it’s because the sync 4 screen is being built in Ukraine and had delayed my order due to moving the factory.
Then the next time I called I’m told it’s because the start stop system is in short supply!
Communication is woeful at best!
@@thomascox5803 with you there, this is my main issue to be honest. The delays are unfortunate and annoying but it's the complete lack of open, honest, useful and transparent communication on the issue that is really frustrating me! At this stage I know absolutely nothing and it's disgraceful from Ford.
I love my current Fiesta so when I needed something a little bigger the Focus was an obvious choice but after my experience the car I have ordered will very likley be my last Ford...
went to my local Ford dealership and they advised they were only being supplied with 18 brand new cars (all models) for the entire rest of the year. So dont hold your breath.

Hey Keith - yeah all Focus models are available on Motability.
The only model not on motability m8 is the top ST trim, but everything up to st-line x
I have a mk4 vignale auto. Love it. The facelift? Nah. And I love the rotary auto gear select.
You only get the rotary gear selector on the 1.5 diesel that nobody will buy now

same but in frozen white October they said as well due to production shutting down in august for the month apparently

@@kayak1969p yer I chose white pretty much because I like the way the windows and other black accents sit on it I own a old panther black fiesta currently and although it looks nice I find the swirl marks after years of car washes have put me off black again
well my only gripe is I have been waiting since Oct for mine, I know ford can't control what's happening in Ukraine but still, I have seen other people with theirs and surely I must have been high on the order list ordering in October.

If Ford returns the Focus hatchback 6 speed manual to the United States - it will be my next car. Too bad they are currently out of touch with what their customers want to buy. This looks much better than the new Civic hatchback, GTI, Corolla, or Mazda3 2.5. I would buy one even if they only brought the US the 2.3 Focus ST.
Ive had 7 focus,s there are literally thousands on the road here in the uk we would describe as a "working class" car cheap to run very reliable but all in all a fantastic mid ranged car so many different spec to choose from colours etc and engines cant understand why its not available in America its built in Germany so easy to get to the uk however now you cannot even order the 22 model because of the Ukraine war and semiconductor shortage etc the top of the range st is simply one of the best cars ever i will get one eventually hopefully!

Yeah no heating button which is ok until the screen freezes which mine has done 3 times in the last month.......Ford give us back analogue heating controls the ones on the screen are useless!

I have the old facelift (in that exact blue) I think the new facelift makes the Focus look to much like a Fiesta

And if Ford ever stops making the Focus or Fiesta and builds more suvs then its over for me....
Restyling looks better now, but this huge PlasmaTV at the center, definitely the reason to cancel Focus from the short list.

I have pre-facelift 2019 Ford Focus 1.5 Ecoboost 150 HP M6 Trend edition Buissnes and I would never changed for the facelift model Ford changed everything what made that I bought this car, they removed multi-link suspension, removed all buttons for climatisation and changed the dashboard to digital.... Also the engines do not have now nothing good, the best motor was 1.5 ecoboost.... Tablet on the middle part of the cockpit is now the small tv size.... Previous front was also better, more agressive.. I don't see any upgrades, for my everything is downgrade, maybe the rear lamp looks better in new version. Even if focus wouldn't kill by Ford I would not buy mk5, probabbly I buy something from family I30/ceed with 1.5 enginge 160 HP....
Anyway, here in Germany it is not possible anymore to order the new Focus because of massive delivery problems (Sync 4 is build in the Ucraine) and Microchips worldwide delivery problems, in 2025 the Focus will NEVER be built again what is making me sad

In Titanium you can not even get decent rims... and no 1.5L Petrol anymore.it's a shame

2:10 Nah, they haven't narrowed down. It's the same size and shape as the pre-facelift. It's just optical illusion due to the design of its internals.

Meanwhile in America, all we get from Ford is a bunch of different trucks and SUV's with substandard performance and bad fuel efficiency
SUVs are the most useless on earth, the only offroad people do is grass parking lots that only require 2 inch of ground clearance, My 280 hp Minivan gapped a 355 hp tahoe SUV really bad, my 280 hp minivan does 0-60 in 6.6 seconds

Not even a Mustang. What I want is a hatchback car, like the things Ford sells pretty much everywhere else but America. My next vehicle is going to be from another manufacturer. My current Focus ST is my first and last Ford.
As a ford owner for a 7 year, I hate both fiesta and focus facelifts. It doesnt look sexy anymore. İnterior is old and ugly too. Ford EU need to hire whoever design the 2013 fiesta or 2022 peugeot 308.

When I'm looking at the front headlights the new 2022 feels more like a rebadged Audi A1 with a different grille (I have also noticed that you moved the logo to the grille where Audi uses to put his logo). Why are you guys copying Audi? I mean when I'm looking at a ford I'm expecting to see a Ford, not an audi or any other manufacturer. Now don't get me wrong, I'm actually a ford fan and i love Focus especially the mk3 RS but this one just doesn't seem to make it for me.

It's not a good looking front end (it wasn't anything special to look at to begin with) and if that screen/infotainment malfunctions, we can't have access to climate control. I'm getting a Kia Ceed instead, it's almost as good to drive as the Focus and it has a better interior, more spacious and more quality.

"pre-facelift" is the 2013-14 models. And they were the best looking.

Pre-Facelift is 2018-2021 models, and Facelift is 2022 - . I guess you are thinking about MK3, not MK4
