I had a Calm Screen shortcut on the top left of the screen, similar to a blue semi circle & now it’s gone. Any ideas as to how I can get that back please?
Do you have a list of wireless android compatible phones? I've got an old Galaxy A10, and have to use USB, which I have to keep plugging in and out every journey.
Hello , I have the new Ford Transit Custom 2024 But there is a Maps GPS issue where it cannot update my location , it keeps teleporting around the UK map and can’t locate my location , can anyone help me with this ?
Sorted, to enable go to Navigation Settings then Categories and scroll up and select Notifications and you will find Red Light and Speed Cameras, touch button to turn on.
How to quickly turn-on Air recirculation? I can see that at least two clicks are required. It's impossible to turn it on without watching the screen. Can we add any shortcut for it?
Please, if you do not subscribe to the "Ford Connected Navigation" suite after the trial period: 1. Precisely what features are lost? 2. How long is the trial period? 3. What are the UK monthly charges? Thank you
Hi Mike thank you for your query. There are a lot of features on Ford Pass and if I typed them out I would need to get it published! Here is a link to a helpful webpage. If you have any further questions then please get in touch. ttps://www.ford.co.uk/technology/connectivity/fordpass?searchid=ppc:txt:search:uk:eng:b:bbra:ga:ppc:na:ao:ex:br:na:connect:Brand-Connectivity-FordPass-Exact:fordpass%20connect:e:c:g:GOOGLE&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw48-vBhBbEiwAzqrZVEOmTNIQ0EN8VN5Z-RXDXcAugpxBPVECrBh4LQte3OqCYlu3xgoLBBoCNnsQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
@@mikestrange6969 I own a 2023 Focus ST with Sync 4 and live in Germany. My Ford Connected Navigation trial period just ran out. The length was 1 year from the date of the first registration of the vehicle. The features I lost are Connected Navigation and Local Hazard Information. Connected Navigation has to do with the vehicle receiving real time traffic information and using it to re-route you around it. Local Hazard Information has to do with the map and dash showing you active road construction sites, road closures, pulled over vehicles to the side of the road, and general danger or things you need to be aware of on the road. How this worked exactly is a bit of a mistery to me. The Ford fleet of vehicles is definitely a part of it. For example, I remember on two occasions pulling over on a sidewalk in Munich for a couple of minutes with my hazard lights on. When subsequently driving around the block and back on the same road, it would alert me that there is a pulled over vehicle exactly where I used to stand. I found this to be quite amusing. For the Munich area and Germany in general, the road construction work information was very reliable, as well as showing closed streets and navigating around them. During the first year, I exclusively used the Ford Connected Navigation for navigating. I used it to travel to many countries in central Europe, and it worked perfectly, with very precise traffic and navigation information. I also found it to be very good with choosing proper roads, and not trying to save time by routing me through narrow streets for local traffic, just to shave off 30 seconds. The traffic information was spot on and immediate. It has helped me navigate off the Autobahn many times to avoid standing in traffic. I only have positive experiences with it. What still works is the navigation, albeit without any traffic information. Offline search works as well. I do not know whether the maps will keep updating. I believe it is safe to assume that they won't, unless I pay for the subscription. Now that the trial is over, I definitely miss it. Neither Google Maps nor Waze on Android Auto is a good enough replacement, IMO. Most irritating thing I lost is the offline search (technically it is still available, but because I'm using Google Maps now it is a hassle to switch between the maps), which was extremely useful to me, as I find myself frequently parked in underground garages without a mobile phone connection. The subscription costs 6 Euro in Germany, per month. At that price, I would say that the subscription is worth it. The reason I haven't purchased it yet, is because I feel irritated that 40 000 Euro is still not enough to keep basic features sold with the car, for the lifetime of the car. I have not ruled out purchasing the subscription for 1 month at a time before long road trips. The rest of the time, I can live with Android Auto's quirks. I would also have liked if there was a yearly subscription. Hope this is helpful.
@@FordBuckingham That's if you can get a new Ford. My new Focus was due to be built 28th February. It's now been put back until 11th April. This has left me without a car and the dealership have no loan cars. My previous Focus was recovered by Ford on a "rejection basis" because they could not fix the deep sleep mode and neither could Ford technical support.
An ergonomic nightmare all these screens, Thankfully they still sell a version without this big screen but a smaller one with proper analogue clocks and proper heating controls. Car manufacturers really need to go back to the drawing board. look at the 2011 focus interior for example ! I have a car and the screen controls everything, no, it's not a Tesla, I will never again buy a car that has no buttons, knobs and proper climate controls.
Thia is hideous. I dont need to take my eyes off the road to adjust the temp or fan speed or direction in my current focus 2018. Now these are buried in menus
You set your climate control/temperature settings all from the bar at the bottom. There is no need to go into any hidden menus. It is quick and intuitive. Also once you have done all of your hidden menu settings [when you first own the car] which of course you can do while stationary, there is then very little need to touch your sync 4, you can also use voice commands for many different things if you so wish, all while having awareness and observing the road ahead. There is a physical button below which turns on maximum heat settings for winter, pressing it again auto adjusts to your default settings.
Very good and understandable explanation, better than the operating instructions. Thank you very much.
Glad it was helpful!
On a Ford Puma can you get google maps to show as satelite view by connecting to Android phone ? Thanks

Does sync4 perform automatic map updates via Modem, or do you still have to put an USB-Stick?
All updates on Sync 4 are done over the air.
Hello , I have the new Ford Transit Custom 2024
But there is a Maps GPS issue where it cannot update my location , it keeps teleporting around the UK map and can’t locate my location , can anyone help me with this ?
Sync3 had a built in speed camera alert, can’t find that feature on 4. Has it been deleted?
Looking for an answer to this as well!
Sorted, to enable go to Navigation Settings then Categories and scroll up and select Notifications and you will find Red Light and Speed Cameras, touch button to turn on.
How do you change the screen set up as my Kuga looks different and can’t access handbook in Ford app. Thanks
So can you explain why on the sync 4 my maps are constantly freezing after the last upgrade? My dealer has no clue on how to fix..
mine too, is there a fix now, I think I'd better look see if there is an update, or just to a reset :(
Is it possible to use pen drive with mp3 to play music?
Great Video. Thank you.
Is it possible to turn off the Sync 4 screen completely?
As far as we can find, you can't turn it off. You ca turn the calm screen on so that it shows the date and time. We will do some more investigating
I think you have to press the Button on the left side next to the text „Calm Screen“. I get my Focus next week. So i will try if that works.

I have a 2020 model Ford Kuga, where can I buy this screen? Will it fit my Kuga?
Unfortunately you can't buy these anywhere, you will have to find an aftermarket one or buy a new Kuga😊

Is there a shortcut to calm screen like in sync 3?
Yes
Hi, how can I remove that window that appears on the left side?
Do you have speed tolerance setting ?
The ford site says to bring my car in. Where can I just find the update? 2012 fusion with base radio
Video player???
Hi can you advise me on how to give it commands ie call wife many thanks got new van few days ago
How do you turn the screen off completely
can i do in tours 2023?
can u do a video on how to setup a wifi hotspot using your fone
So, you can’t use a hand held mobile, but a huge screen with hundreds of picks is ok… most odd.

Seriously? No physical dials/buttons for aircon? Who requested that??? SURELY NOT customers!!
sync 4 looks great unfortunately most ford cars styling has gone way down hill. no more fords for me after 40 years of solid ford motoring
