I'm a Pediatric ICU RN and we use it there too! For securing IV's and other devices that the kiddos like to dismantle. Great stuff for babies of all species !
Sandi your a miracle worker u do amazing things for those babies..that black lamb with the broken leg is beautiful hopefully you keep her. .I just love your channel.. the love u have for the animals just beams outta you. Wished u had your own series I'd watch on repeat. Lol..
This is the first video of Sandi's I ever saw. I decided to go back to the beginning and watch every video, to get an idea of the operation and Sandi. It has been EXACTLY 2 years since then, and I'm still excited every time a video is put up! Sandi, you're an AWESOME person, and I Love what you do! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
We have a saying in the vet world (I tech in a small animal clinic) "as long as the bones are in the same room, they'll fuse." Especially true with little ones! Nice vetting!! Beautiful little lamby-girl, and always cool to see Jess! 💯🧡 The music reminds me of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which ALWAYS makes me laugh 😊
♥️♥️♥️♥️Sandi, just wanted to say I'm in love with your channel. You are so beautiful inside and out. You are making sheltering in place doable. I get so excited 9am PDT and wait for the notification ding. Thank you Bunches. When I grow up (I'm 58) I want to be just like you.
I had a high break like that in a goat I used a Johnson's metalcast. (Bent wire so it goes up around the hip and down past the foot and put the leg in traction) worked great but yours worked also.I would have never thought of the paint roller thanks for the tip.
I am a sheep lover. So much so that I sit with her inside the barn. Enjoy seeing her eating and playing here and there. So I know it is a difficult and tiring profession. Therefore, I would like to thank you and your daughters for your exemplary and well-done work. Thank you, thank you and good luck.
That awesome that you took the time to do this and the hard paid off. Most large operations wouldn’t take time to do this. Every little bit of care is worth it. Love the videos.
I can’t believe I watched this before my wife got the chance! She always gets to them before me... on a serious note, very good info, never thought of using paint rollers.
LOL!! Thanks so much! The paint rollers were definitely a desperate attempt to find a splint at 10pm during a lambing last fall... Even the vet helping me along was impressed!
Our Amish neighbr has sheep. They have been using the styrofoam tube insulation for pipes for casting lambs. Its soft but once they wrap it with vetwrap its awesome. They run 700 hair sheep, Katahdin and use Dorper Rams. Your awesome with your sheep, I love your channel.
Thank yku for giving the little lambys a chance at life. So many farmers would see the deformity and just euthenize it right away. Sll it took was a little love and care.
That little one with the cast has such beautiful markings! You take such wonderful care of your animals. I love the sweet way you talk to them and when the ladies look at you and you say "Hello" in that cute voice you do-it kills me everytime! You are such a bad a$$ of a woman ! I admire the heck out of you! If I was in Canada, I would love to be your bestie. But, I could never survove the winters and will die friendless in Florida :( But, I sure love your videos and all your babies(as they are ALL your babies) I'll probably never be a major player in the farming world, but I sure do enjoy watching and learning about what you do and I am so in awe of you. Jumping on any equipment and driving it like the boss you are. And you are so humble and such a straight shooter. Just "Good People" There's no way I could ever thank you enough for doing this and all the work that goes into it, to share what you do and a part of your life. You already do so much, to add this, wow. It's a lot. I am glad to see that you and the hubs do take time to go away and regroup and take time to yourselves. It is so important
Amazing, with the lamb with the high break I have to be honest I didn’t think there was anyway that lamb could recover from a break of that type very impressive work by you!
Good job Sandi. I casted a broken aloevera leaf and a half snapped lemon tree branch using ice cream stick splints with duck tape last spring. Hey they worked good.
That black lamb is so cute, and your Zwartble lookalike lamb too. Nice little fix-ups. I'm guessing that these won't be good enough to be bred though? I love watching your videos. I would love to spend a day working beside you!
Really Loving the Videos I'm hooked , I'm learning alot and seeing you so passionate about what you do and making us apart of your life means a lot. Thank You Sooo Muchh ❤❤
Yay!! I was worried about the black lamb too because of the high break, but she looks like she's on her way back to perfect. Great job! Also, are you going to keep her? :3
Licensed vet tech here, As a recommendation apply gauze rolls wrapped around first. Vet wrap can cinch down or get tighter in some areas due to its elasticity. Then the paint roller then the wet wrap. On the rear leg break, get something to immobilize the whole leg. Like one piece. Not in two pieces otherwise the movement of the joint and above and below can fracture due to movement. Maybe get some real leg plastic splints from the vet or figure out something else. Or just pad enough with gauze that a tube or anything that will prevent movement of joints below and above the fracture. Usually 3 weeks in that age. Just a FYI for future fractures. The gauze will prevent rubbing as well. Wrap down to just the toes are sticking out to check for color (pink) otherwise swelling can settle below the wrap if all fur and skin is not covered. Good job, young animals heal so fast. The white lamb probably just some stretched or lax ligaments etc from being awkward in the womb or during lambing. Fox a baby bunnies leg like this, they amaze me how newborns heal so fast.
Very bad guess on translation....you are a valiant caretaker, love your animals and he gives you his respect. Was I even close ? Forgive me, I'm Canadian 🇨🇦
@@thekatt... Great translation! The comment says what a brave woman she is for the care and love she gives her animals and that her work is deserving of much respect.
I fixed a goats compound fracture to her front leg. First I dressed the wound then I cut apiece of pvc long ways. Took her to Auburn university vet. center. They kept her for a week. Used my pipe just changed the inside dressing.
Could you show what your milk feeder looks like inside the wooden shed. We have been hand feeding our sickies ( as we call them in Scotland) and we would love to copy your feeder if that is ok. Excellent ideas for fixing leg problems. Thankyou
Thank you for this! We had quite a few with front leg issues this year. They all were sort of bucked over at the knee. Tried splinting and had hell keeping them on. Most have grown out of the issue but we do still have a knuckle walker unfortunately
Really you are artist on this job,you do with pleasure and passion please keep going for me you are happy person in world even sometimes it,s difficult I’m enjoying to watch one of my dreams thank you so much 👍😊
I remember the first time I splinted a few baby goats for weak hocks and when I first took the splint off I thought for sure I'd done worse by them because there legs had shrunk but they all caught up in the end.
i want to come work at your farm so bad, i do not own any farm animals but i used to live at a farm until i was 5 (parents decided i would probably like it better living in a town like my siblings...they were veeeery wrong) we had sheep, chickens and ducks but i do not remember a thing and i love working at the farm zoo my cousin has open during the summer, only open for a month tho :(( I just love love love working with animals!
Please, next time, try to emobilze the joint below to decrease the pressure for the fracture to bend. It might cause some stiffness right after, but it will work itself out.
Thank you for sharing this video. I am sure it will help someone, later down the line. Can't believe you have haters. Three thumbs down for this great video. Some people are just mean hearted.
That's so fantastic, I'm always amazed at how they move afterwards, the damage to those legs looked irreversible, great job!, I have to ask another possibly dumb question, while you're in the lamb house, what is all the chirping?sounds like a chicken coop
Very nicely done!!! Most importantly it was done with much love, of course :) It's almost like watching them learn to walk all over again. How old are they?
So happy they are doing well. The cuteness factor is off the charts!!!
I was sort of skeptical about the lamb with the high break - but you did it!
Vet wrap is truly a miracle! Right up there with duct tape, baler twine and WD-40!
Michael Bayerl omg I can relate
and in the chicken world, epsom salts😂
Yes
I'm a Pediatric ICU RN and we use it there too! For securing IV's and other devices that the kiddos like to dismantle. Great stuff for babies of all species !

Thanks so much Allie! A vet walked me through my first lamb splint, so I feel way more confident doing this now!
I’m so glad they are healing well. Those 2 need to be someone’s pet sheep and not go to market. I’m just a little bit too far to adopt them. 🇦🇺🦘🐨
Lambs are such amazing creatures! They can bounce back from so much more than you'd think they can!
They really are!!
♥️♥️♥️♥️Sandi, just wanted to say I'm in love with your channel. You are so beautiful inside and out. You are making sheltering in place doable. I get so excited 9am PDT and wait for the notification ding. Thank you Bunches. When I grow up (I'm 58) I want to be just like you.
the stage when they are really feeble and new born and sleepy is just the BEST stage everrrr 😩
I had a high break like that in a goat I used a Johnson's metalcast. (Bent wire so it goes up around the hip and down past the foot and put the leg in traction) worked great but yours worked also.I would have never thought of the paint roller thanks for the tip.

Thanks! So worth doing this... takes very little time to make a big difference!

Sandi Brock had a broken arm when I was a boy
Sandi Brock I like yours and their mums are good girls
Hi Dr. Sandi! Nice going with your limping lambs ~~ very happy for you!
I hope the little black lamb makes a full recovery too!
So happy to see they're thriving and doing well Sandi ! They seem very resilient 🐑🐏🐑 And we are smiling with joy ! 🙆
healingsprings11 😀
Oh my gosh, this is my favorite video so far. I really love how well you take care of your lambs.
So much extra care for These lambs- you're a great Person!! ❤️
Thank yku for giving the little lambys a chance at life. So many farmers would see the deformity and just euthenize it right away. Sll it took was a little love and care.
So glad you can help improve their lives and save on vet bills
Lots of coban
Pretty smart use of a paint roller to rescue a valuable resource (the lamb) as I suspect every loss is a big deal. Cheers.

Good job Sandi. I casted a broken aloevera leaf and a half snapped lemon tree branch using ice cream stick splints with duck tape last spring. Hey they worked good.

That was wonderful to see them get better with your help. Dr. Sandi, MD, 😁😉
That black lamb is so cute, and your Zwartble lookalike lamb too. Nice little fix-ups. I'm guessing that these won't be good enough to be bred though? I love watching your videos. I would love to spend a day working beside you!

Great Job!~Me and My kids watch you every day! Your awesome!
I fixed a goats compound fracture to her front leg. First I dressed the wound then I cut apiece of pvc long ways. Took her to Auburn university vet. center. They kept her for a week. Used my pipe just changed the inside dressing.
Hi, I would love to see a video of why you put the tail bands on/ the process of them falling off
Vet wrap, paint rolls, and Sandi = miracles for lambs!!! Kinsey says "Momma, I wanna play with the lil'miss. You fixed her leg, can she play now?"
Could you show what your milk feeder looks like inside the wooden shed. We have been hand feeding our sickies ( as we call them in Scotland) and we would love to copy your feeder if that is ok. Excellent ideas for fixing leg problems. Thankyou
I love when some of them sound like they’re burping when they talk 😂
Thank you for this! We had quite a few with front leg issues this year. They all were sort of bucked over at the knee. Tried splinting and had hell keeping them on. Most have grown out of the issue but we do still have a knuckle walker unfortunately
We were using paint stirring sticks, socks, and vet wrap. But I like the idea of the paint roller!
The rollers work great!
I just saw like 15 videos of you today, i love it!
WOW!!! Thanks so much!
Really you are artist on this job,you do with pleasure and passion please keep going for me you are happy person in world even sometimes it,s difficult I’m enjoying to watch one of my dreams thank you so much 👍😊

i want to come work at your farm so bad, i do not own any farm animals but i used to live at a farm until i was 5 (parents decided i would probably like it better living in a town like my siblings...they were veeeery wrong) we had sheep, chickens and ducks but i do not remember a thing and i love working at the farm zoo my cousin has open during the summer, only open for a month tho :(( I just love love love working with animals!

I can hear the little white one saying “Always when I’m eating, Sandi!”
Hi, I’m just wondering how you sort your sheep from the ones you plan on breeding to the ones you want to sell at the market?
so happy the babies and everyone is going well 😊
11:48
Sandi : Look at that you are all fixed
Sheep : Mahhhhhhhh
Amazing work. Respect to you ✊.
They are sooooo cute.
that is fast healing time. takes about 6-8 weeks for broken bones to heal in a person.
They're all so cute how do you not fall in love with all
Thank you for sharing this video. I am sure it will help someone, later down the line. Can't believe you have haters. Three thumbs down for this great video. Some people are just mean hearted.
Jo Lind I know. They are probably just jealous of her tbh
How's your leg? Lamb (it's itchy take it off)😂
Thank you so much for the information. This exact thing has happened to my lambs
My pleasure!
That's so fantastic, I'm always amazed at how they move afterwards, the damage to those legs looked irreversible, great job!, I have to ask another possibly dumb question, while you're in the lamb house, what is all the chirping?sounds like a chicken coop
just birds who are uninvited...
Very nicely done!!! Most importantly it was done with much love, of course :) It's almost like watching them learn to walk all over again. How old are they?
In this video, the black lamb was about 2 weeks old, the little white one was about a week old when first casted.
Thanks again Sandi...
Very educational. Thanks
I hope you give us an update on the baby with the bad break in its upper leg
Will do! But to date, the lamb is doing really well! Walking and running with weight on all four legs now!!
Great work on the home remedies
Love to watch the dog help!( so he sees it !
This reminds me of “Little Bo-Peep” & “Mary Had a Little Lamb” from Nursery Rhymes (1983)
Very very good,big happiness...
Wow...excellent job. 😁😁👍👏👏
One of my favorite most rewording
Oh Jess. You are adorable
On my family farm we only ever had 1 lamb that had a broken leg. I have never seen so many lambs with feet problems or leg problems.
Mo critters mo problems
Sandi thanks for video
