Thanks for the introduction. Anticipating the delivery of my Ray 5 10w. Graduating from a Fokus 5w. Also moving from LaserGerbl to Lightburn. That is steep learning curve. New subscriber.
Hey! Thank you for the support! Light burn is definitely a learning curve but it’s worth it in the long run - so many lasers work with it so as you upgrade or get new machines you’ll be ready to go much quicker. Good luck with the new machine!
I set the whole thing up while watching your video. This thing will not frame on the Y axis for me. It only burns in a straight line. Any idea what the issue is? Doesnt matter if I use lightburn or LaserGrbl.
I’ve just been re-doing the free version I couldn’t tell you which exact version. I’m sure I’ll buy it at some point! Doing a new video soon with a couple of cool projects so stay tuned! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Added that to description! Longer sells one as well but it’s normally out of stock, apologies for missing that. It’s a 400mm X 400mm size, there are TONS of options online available, any of them will likely work. The one I bought is linked in description now. 🤘🏻
With a laser like this you can get creative with building a platform under it to raise the laser head. But def want it to be sturdy. Generically probably only an inch or two at most.
@@TheToughGuysTVI believe Lego slots in underneath the feet and makes perfect height adjustable platform try it ps watching through video now will have questions shortly
I think the S1 is superior yes: Full enclosure, vented air assist, riser base available, auto depth sensing, pinpoint positioning (for custom shapes), larger work area, and xTool creative software is superior than Lightburn in my opinion, it’s just all around a better machine BUT it does cost more, and for good reason.
I have a question it is about the rotisserie that you get with your machine aren’t you set it up and you change the numbers in the program when you go back to using the laser for doing on wood do you have to go back and change those numbers or are they set in the machine and they automatically go back or do we have to go back and reset the numbers? I hope this makes sense.
I believe the software you use should help guide you with a rotary attachment, but I never used one with this laser so I don’t know for sure unfortunately
I can't get this thing connected to my phone or computer and as far as the SD card, I can't even add pictures that show up on it after I download it from my computer, soon as I put it in the engraver the picture will not show up
Any settings I’ve used are through the software LightBurn. It dictates speed and power as well as how many passes the laser needs to make to complete the cut or engraving. On the small SD card included are some resource packs as well as template files for you too (or should be if they included it for you)

Thank you you made my decision easy
I’m getting one
Thx
Very good very detailed but very understandable. The belts mtb
The belts may be easier to install if you start by placing the belt on the sprocket then feeding it to the front and back.
how do you center it?

Nice unboxing and first burn. Mine is otw. Which license from Lightburn did you need? I see 4 options out there.

@@TheToughGuysTVhow did you manage to keep getting the free software 🤔😲
Unfortunately no, I pay for Lightburn now but it’s not too bad
What was the fill settings for that last engraving of your logo?
When i scan on lightburn it locks up and freezes the program
Lightburn can be tricky, not sure I can assist. Make sure you make sure it’s updated of course, and see if their support can help at all - good luck
I do not see a link for the cutting bed

For engraving... How thick of an object can be engraved on?

Is the xTool S1 better or na?

is there just a basic setting when you get the laser ?

I need a logo cut!
Hey!! Man as soon as I’m set up to do so, I’ll definitely with you, would be honored to make your shop sign! 🤙🏻
I just notice the metal cube my longer 5 bringed is half your, cant see how to focus correctly without damaging the equipment
Did yours come with the spacer? For making sure the laser is spaced correctly over the workpiece?
