You know it's pretty ironic that the reason the zenin clan fell was because they couldn't adapt to the modern times. However the strongest shikigami of the ten shadows the zenin clan's strongest technique has the ability to adapt to anything.
I hated that Toji is dead but then I thought. He had to die because Toji is an urban horror slasher. He stalks, teleports, made a signature murder weapon, supernatural powers even though he’s “normal” can back because of a ritual…on Halloween! Random I know.
@@Chrno34 basically rewatch his scenes and think of it as a origin. Look at how he jumps out of the ocean in that one scene. It’s all spelled out. That’s straight out of Friday the 13th.
Yeah 100%. Same with Gojo being sealed. I understand the need to have his presence throughout season 1+ half of season 2, basically to illustrate the tide of Curse Users & Cursed Spirits he held back, & how that equation is instantly reversed upon Pseudo-Geto sealing him. Like Toji he's just too damn OP, which makes the bad guys almost pitifully outmatched. Ironically though, Toji is the one single character who is capable of killing Gojo (hell he DID kill him!), despite not really being on either side of the true war. Although I have an inkling his appearance in the Beach -Domain, and subsequent flawless victory against octobitch, was a fatherly instinct to protect his son (same with bamf-ing Megumi the hell out of dodge, although I really wish he'd stuck around long enough to slam dunk cyclop's dumb looking head in a clogged toilet. I still think there is plenty of backstory as yet untold about Toji"s youth with the Zenin Clan, how he earned his title of "Sorcerer Killer" as well as the origins of Heavenly Pacts, what criteria must one meet to gain said Pact....
I mean he made that deal with toji. And seeing how powerful megumi is. I imagine he died leaving the zenin clan in good hands.granted that's not what happened.
Imagine dying, being reborn as a hideous larvae-like monster, evolving into a floating v*gin* with a skull face, and then dying a second time at the hands of someone who you always viewed as inferior. That's Naoya for you.
I just got what the link between Projection Sorcery and the Ten Shadows Technique is. They’re both different forms of animation; Projection Sorcery is based on 24 FPS, and TS is based on shadow puppetry. The reason the Zen’in Clan shun PS as worthless and covet TS is because they always think the older, more established medium is the better one.
@Timmy-mi2ef Naobito originally wasnt going to become the clan head because of projection sorcery, the only reason he did was because the original clan heir was maki and mais father, and because his children were born with heavenly and low ce respectively and were females, the next head became naobito instead of him
The zenin clan is like a double edged sword to me. On one hand I feel that tradition is what helped them become to strong in the first place, but in the end it was also their undoing because of the way they treated woman and those without cursed energy. Naobito was strong, but he grew decadent, which lead to him dying and the zenin clan eventually going under
Because of their treatment on Toji, they lost a strong non-curse user and even worse, Megumi who inherited the 10 Shadows. And because of their treatment on Maki, she literally killed the Zenin clan
The problem was them not allowing some members to experiment and create new clan techniques. If they cared more for Toji and claimed his heavenly restriction as their own and given him the respect he deserves, he would have been loyal and so would Mai. Instead they've created an enemy out of people who can match anyone with the Ten Shadows. Not only that but it's possible that such a heavenly restriction may lead to the Zen'in with the Ten Shadows being born should the prior user die. Tradition being preserved at the cost of progress will only lead to such progress crushing it. Likewise without tradition progress created will cease and be for nothing.
The Zenin clan exemplifies the hubris of the unreachable goal of maintaining purity. No matter how much you want to keep control, the only thing that can remain constant is change. It dosent matter how many attemps or lines u cross to maintain it (like incest), its only inevitable that change will happen.
The zenin clan emphasized on techniques, not "purity", that said change and adaption arent the same. You can maintain your traditional values while adapting to an environment, strengthing ones technique to the core would also mean using binding vows to enchance its flexbility, and keeping the bloodline pure would mean safeguarding techniques from outside forces. Allowing your techniques outside would mean, having no control on what your clan technique will be and even enlongating the time when a desires technique will be back (ex limitless plus six eyed combo can be longer if gojo clan bred outside). People dont realize it, but traditionalism is pretty much what evolution is all about, selecting the best traits and discarding the unnnecessary ones to ensure the best outcome.
Funny how the Zen'in clan's family technique is the 10 shadows technique, and the most powerful shikigami, Mahoraga, has the ability to adapt to any phenomena, yet the clan was unable to adapt to modern times.
I love Naobito Zenin. His speech to Dagon about animation styles or whatever was funny. He seemed chill, yeah he's a misogynistic jerk but he seemed calmer than most Zenin. Also love his CT and the fact he pulled up to Shibuya with a bottle in hand. He was also doing the most damage again Dagon before Domain Expansion.
It's weird to think that he was probably the best The Zenin Clan had to offer. It's my theory that he mellowed out as he got older, and didn't need ti compete for his position anymore. Still a scumbag, but at least a scumbag on the right side.
@@panpan1287 yeah, I guess with age he probably got accustomed to stuff. He was also definitely not a good person, but compared to others, he's not the worst.
@@airplanes_aren.t_realtbh I don’t think it would go that way, I think he can recognize true strength and he’d begrudgingly admit that she’s stronger now, he might still try to fight her but I’m pretty sure he’d be more willing to accept her strength
@thunderdrae7749 Toji was never truly accepted by the Zenin, however they weren't retarded they knew he could annihilate the entire clan if he desired it was merely a begrudging respect, I think the one who respected him the most was Noaya, honestly there's 2 main reasons Maki wasn't as feared as Toji she was a woman and she didn't start off as strong as him
JJK does provide an interesting critique of "Traditionalism For Tradition's Sake". Take a moment to consider that, even without Sukuna, the Three Families were completely unprepared for what was coming, given how effortlessly Naobito Zenin gets taken down by Jogo, compared to how effortlessly the fight against Dagon was going. The traditionalist philosophy of the old guard had left them utterly unprepared for a new threat, once Gojo was gone. I think this is something easily overlooked, but for an unknown amount of time, Gojo was the only thing holding things together, with Gojo basically being the "I Win" Button for anything too strong for current sorcerers to handle. While Gojo was trying to train a new generation of sorcerers to handle problems if he was ever out of the picture, the Three Families just sat back and basically did nothing, congratulating themselves on how great they were and not realizing that their time was long past, and was only allowed to continue existing because of Gojo taking all of Jujutsu society on his back. If you think I'm exaggerating, Sukuna does an excellent job of demonstrating how out of touch Jujutsu society is when he points out that both he and a Cursed Spirit born of just one of his fingers are both considered "Special Grade". All of the Disaster Curses were Special Grade. There are so many Special Grade curses that is seems like the words have no meaning, and that's basically the point: The classification system that has been used for generations is woefully out of date, to the point that it can be argued that there are more "Special Grade" curses than there are lower grade curses, begging for a change to the current classification system. But that would be violating tradition, and that's something that the Three Families would not allow. The Three Families allowed Jujutsu Society to stagnate, assuming that nothing would ever change. However, time never stands still: Just because you stop moving forward doesn't mean the rest of the world will. When we allow traditions to hold us back, it comes at the cost of everyone not bound by those traditions to get ahead of us. Thus, the stagnant society was left unable to deal with the new threat the Disaster Curses represent. Traditions are.... usually good, but not inherently good. Or at the very least, they are not inherently back. They connect us to those who came before, who passed on those traditions with the intention of helping those who would come after them. However, we can't just cling to traditions solely because they're the way things have always been done. The traditions of the past were established to deal with the problems of the past. Some of those problems no longer exist, or have changed in a way that those traditions were never intended to handle. The world changes, mutates, and evolves constantly, and the traditions that helped out ancestors survive can easily become something that holds future generations back. Thous, Naobito Zenin met his end at the hands of a foe he'd never imagined might exist and that the traditions of the past did not prepare him for, his arrogance a poor shield against a foe at Jogo's level.
Fantastic comment! Just chipping in Traditional families are also, by their very nature, conservative. After a certain time they aren't interested in assisting soceity, but rather conserving influence and power to make their current status more lucrative. They were lucky Gojo chose not to be a tyrant and Geto chose to direct his wrath at humanity and was ultimately checked by Gojo being much more powerful, but unwilling to fight his friend. If either or both of these Sorc's had chosen to tear the entire system down? There is absolutely no one that could've stopped *either* one of them. Even if those two weren't in the picture, Yuki was both powerful and special enough to choose her own life, completely divorced by Sorc expectations. How many special grade Sorc's did the 3 families have? Aside from Gojo, they owned none of them aside from Gojo. Hikari, Yuki and Yuta were all independent agent's while Gojo alone held the line, and Gojo himself spent his entire time building up the new generation so that one day, the 3 family's would evaporate and become irrelevant. Basically you are spot on. The one time Gojo wasn't able to solve all of their problems, the Conservative sorcs were in one form or another; completely incapable of holding the line. Mei Mei is a selfish cow who only works for money and will typically do as little as possible. She literally dipped the moment she felt things were getting serious, and was one of two grade 1's who emerged from Shibyiua unharmed. Given that she had a Teleporter Mei Mei may (hehe) have been able to make a difference elsewhere, but she chose to bugger off and sleep with her brother. Yes, she's a character I love to hate. Kascarbe, out of pragmatic cowardice, chose not to act at all. It might have saved his life, but despite being a Grade 1 his impact was largely minimal, aside from blocking Kenjauku's powerful attack. Things *might* have been different if he had chosen to get involved sooner. Needless to say, he could've made a difference to mitigate damage, or even might've been a great aid to Naobito's strike force, but generally chose to keep his sword sheathed. Naobito was measuring the new world by his old standards and had held his clan back, and his arrogance in neglecting Toji was part of what result everything so far happening. Namami did try his best, but as a conservative man who only followed rules? He literally worked himself to death. Basically, if Yuki hadn't have turned up (again, she really wasn't beholden to any of the system) and Kasa hadn't finally stepped forward? Shyibua would've been a complete disaster with all hands dead instead of a humbling defeat. And even then? They chose to prioritise killing Yuji over solving any other issues. The three families worst sin is being completely useless and reliant on the special grades to bail them out; as quite clearly their grade 1's of this generation weren't up to the task.
@@lordbiscuitthetossable5352 Yeah, but there's one other aspect that is important to note with traditionalist/ conservative families and/or groups, and that is the inability or unwillingness to learn from past mistakes. Because learning requires to both acknowledge that one has made a mistake and being willing to change after the lesson is learned. Traditionalists cannot do either. The Zen'in clan's ultimate fate is due to that. They birthed Toji Fushiguro, a person born without cursed energy that they mistreated... who grew up to become a monster that they lived in absolute terror of until his death, fearing that at any moment he might decide to just wipe out the Zen'in clan and they'd be powerless to stop him. Years later, they'd have Maki who was similarly "disabled", although not as extremely and was similarly mistreated until she was pushed to the breaking point. When that happened, she became an equally powerful terror that did, in fact, erase the entire clan from existence, save for herself and Megumi. After having one "disabled" child being proven capable of becoming so powerful that no one in the clan could stand up to him, you'd think they'd change their policy towards children like that so that they don't go through that again. Instead, they doubled down on it and ensured their own annihilation. Maki, the child that was scorned and spited by her family became a powerhouse stronger than all of her clan combined, and became that way exactly because of how she was treated. History repeats, and ironically, despite loving the past so much, traditionalists cannot learn from it.
There is in no way more special grade curses than lower grade ones. The very presence of Geto's raid disproves that entire sentiment. Special Grade curses are just more remembered
@@Timmy-mi2ef I said "It could be argued there are more", which isn't the same thing. The point is that "Special Grade" curses vary so massively in strength that the title alone indicates how out of touch with current reality that ranking system is. Both the "weak" Special Grade from Sukuna's finger and Jogo who is able to one shot veteran exorcists effortlessly are Special Grade. A system that was actually up to date with current reality would have changed, maybe saying "Lower Special Greade", "Mid-Special Grade", "High Special Grade", and "Extreme Special Grade", to evaluate strength more accurately. A ranking system that cannot properly rate the power of the things it is meant to classify is just bad and should be changed.
I think Naobito isn’t really a great representative for the traditionalists. If anything, it’s Ogi. Ogi himself said Naobito’s technique was relatively modern. Ofc it seems he’s holding on to old forms of frame rates now but Naobito was young when this cultural shift to cinema happened and his CT is based on what was a very fresh cultural change for his time! Naobito’s conversation with Maki when she left made it seem like he found her challenging their traditions interesting. His attitude of just wanting to drink and fight is more aligned with the selfish individualism we see in people like Sukuna. He still does consider what’s best for the clan, but I believe it was as Naobito is likely one of the less traditional members of the clan. Consider Ogi, who held contempt for his own children due to their place in the clan. He tried to kill both for the good of the clan, and not so he could become head but for Naoya. The individualist vs traditional mindset is not always so black and white. If Ogi was trying to kill his children for his own sake, that would be self interest. But no, Gege had him come up with the idea for the good of Zenin clan. And this is what leads to their true downfall. Even framing Naobito electing Megumi as a traditional decision is a little odd. I agree that the Ten Shadows is the crown Jewel of the Zenin and of course any traditionalists would want it in the clan. But to believe it’s really a decision based on tradition, which means precedent, is odd when you consider he was handing the clan off to a complete outsider that was never taught their traditions! What does that tell you? That Naobito cared more about power than precedent and traditions. I think he cares about both but he was clearly an unorthodox individual with a modern CT. Surely, he could have made preparations to get Megumi into the clan as a tool of the Zenin. But giving him leadership, I don’t think this is a decision someone stuck in tradition would ever do. Ogi certainly wouldn’t, and as soon as that decision was made, the rest of his clan planned to kill Megumi and give the clan to Naoya. That is what the group wanted, while Naobito cared more about individual power leading the way much like Gojo did. Naobito is a nuanced character precisely because he’s clearly very eccentric and not stuffy. He’s rash and selfish but he also thinks strategically and works within the system. His decision led to the downfall of the Zenin, but you can say it was because of the Zenin rejecting his decision that it fell. Ogi went against Naobito’s wishes for this outside fresh Sorcerer to lead the clan. He’s the figurehead for the will of the Zenin that rejected Naobito’s will (literal “will”, pun intended). This is why the Zenin fell, precisely because Naobito wasn’t playing by the same rules as the rest of the clan.
Yeah, Naobito was literally one of the EXTREMELY FEW Zenins Toji tolerated to the point Toji is confident enough to make a deal with him, and Maki wasn't that much Antagonistic to Naobito outside of his actual annoying qualities like Lazing around and being a drunkard. Naobito didn't mind her disrespect too, despite the fact that he is the Head of Zenin clan while Maki is just a Foot soldier of the clan, and someone that is seen by the clan as expendable. Like he literally came himself to HELP JJK HIGH retrieve Gojo, despite the fact that not helping would help his clan more in terms of elevating their position. He's more of a guy that tried to modernize an extremely traditionalist clan but failed to do so due to his untimely death.
I'll push back on your point about making Megumi the clan head. It very much seems like tradition to give one of the big clans to a person who possesses that clans crown jewel, Gojo became the head of his clan, a past 6 Eyes limitless also was the head, so was a past 10S the head of Zenin and iirc Norotoshi not Kenjaku Kamo became the heir to Kamo despite being born from a servant because he had blood manipulation
I find Naobito very compelling despite his short screen time (join the club) so thank you for putting it all into words for me. I will say my personal head canon, further to the point of Naobito’s role as a bridge, is that Naobito genuinely respected Toji and Maki (in a way). Don’t get me wrong he was a horrible, arrogant misogynist. But the way he interacts with Toji makes me think that he pitied him in a way, because he surely understood that Toji was powerful enough to end the clan whenever he wanted but was too disaffected and traumatised to have the agency to do it. He offers Toji more money for Megumi out of the “goodness” of his heart, because he recognises the value coming from Toji that Toji cannot see. With Maki, I believe that Naobito, in line with his predictive and planning nature/technique, would have seen the possibility of Maki becoming like Toji. Realistically he would have recognised Maki’s heavenly restriction and understood that being a twin was holding her back. I fully believe that he was stoking Maki’s fire so she would become more powerful. Not for her own benefit, but because he believed that her fixation on coming to power in the clan would make her an asset one day. I imagine Ogi would have probably tried to kill Maki when she left the clan, taking any excuse, and Naobito would have ordered him not to. Naobito also saved Maki’s life in Shibuya. He doesn’t respect Maki, but he doesn’t see her as subhuman or worthless like Ogi or Naoya. He doesn’t respect her personhood, but her gumption and potential power. I doubt he would have foreseen her destroying the clan, because he would never imagine Maki having the strength of will to do something Toji never could. That being said I doubt he’d have fought back if he’d been alive to face an awakened Maki. He just strikes me as someone who doesn’t fear death, he could have tried to flee from Jogo in Shibuya but he didn’t. I think if he’d faced Maki, he would have accepted the chickens have come home to roost and the old must make way for new.
You should do a video on Naoya Zenin soon. Next to Mahito he is easily one of the more hateable characters in the series. The amount of abuse Maki and Mai suffered at his hands is overlooked.
Idk why people hate mahito He killed junpei that lame character With nanami he was kinda already dead but ngl i dropped a tear for ma man Naobara is either dead or is alive so idk idc really she was nice Todo ma besto friendo if he's dead then i am hating mahito if he's alive it's ok
@@FoolVII 1) Junpei was a bullied kid. Mahito intentionally got his mother killed just to break his spirit and get him to fight Yuji just so he could kill him in front of Yuji. He even reminds Yuji about it in Shibuya. 2) Nanami was a mentor figure to Yuji and someone who was a genuinely kind hearted person who sacrificed his retirement and happiness to keep others safe. 3) Nobara was a close friend to Yuji and was intentionally targeted by Mahito to break Yuji's spirit. 4) Like Nobara, not entirely confirmed to be either case. I hope we get to see them at the end of the series, perhaps retired.
Idk I love how Naoya seems this shithead of person, but of you dig deeper he's a victim of abuse as every other Zenin children. The only difference thats it's was more of mental than physical
@@redboxgamingyt3452 about nanami and nobara i understand and don't get wrong idea i love nanami and i don't mind nobara she's a good character But junpei is still lame i am sorry he deserved to die
After you brought it up, I think it saw a naobito restriction on maki as him trying to incentivize maki further as a pretty interesting idea. He probably knew that she would want to prove the family even more after the restricting, and the advice he gave her during the shibuya together of "get out here" wasn't that wrong.
Tbh I feel that way too, I feel like if he indeed wanted to he could’ve done way way worse than he actually did, I mean I get that shit was tough for maki and what not but this is the clan head that could’ve easily had them snuffed out and killed for being weak yet he still kept them around, and even though he supposedly hated maki he still not only told her to go home because she was too weak but saved her too when she was about to get one shot by dagon, tbh he’s probably the most chill person we’ve seen outta that clan apart from maki and megumi and what not
If Maki had succeeded, then it would’ve proved his strength based views correct. Views he probably had because of Toji. It’s possible that the reason he made Maki’s life so hard, the way it was for Toji, was because he knew that it was the only way for her to get as strong as Toji. Which is probably why the other clan leaders hated Maki so much, they realized what Naobito was doing, and wanted to put a stop to it, because Toji scared the hell out of them. They couldn’t do anything to Noabito, or Maki, while Naobito was alive. But the moment he died and she showed up, they tried to kill her.
Unironically, the zenin clan has been the strongest of the big 3 til the modern era IMO from pure “feats” alone. Gojo clan has one saving grace. The six eyes. Limitless is unusable without it, and we haven’t met any other member of said clan, or any other techniques mentioned about them. Kamo clan’s sacred technique is…blood manipulation. Something that can just kill its user outright. If one were to learn RCT with it, it’s powerful, but even then, it isn’t a particularly special type of technique. At least in the applications that we’ve seen of it. We also have body hopping, but that’s only assuming that noshitori was the first life of Kenjaku, which I personally find unlikely. The zenin clan has creation. When fully realized, it can create anything within the reason of its user’s CE. At its peak for all we know, it can amp its user’s stats tenfold as seen with yorozu’s bug armor, attack/defend omnidirectionally, create weapons/shelters for allies, likely have superior barrier techniques since its a physical object that can be easily visualized as a barrier (assumption), and create impossible concepts. Projection sorcery is just busted. It basically allows u to live in a different realm as everyone else in terms of speed and perception. CS naoya likely wasn’t even its peak, but it shows a lot of its insane abilities. I don’t wanna go too in depth because honestly it’s a lil confusing, and takes time to explain/make sense of. Basically makes u faster than 99% of the ppl u will face, stop them in their tracks, and control the flow of a fight. 10S is a different level of busted tbh…assuming u can master it. Megumi, in all honesty, isn’t a very good user of it. To my knowledge, the best use of totality he has shown is frog, rabbit, and nue to create tiny flying frog clones…ok? Well, instead of taking time to learn to clone flying frogs, he could’ve instead focused on taming the bull. A creature that increases its momentum as it moves, basically making it into juggernaut. Imagine a totality of bull and nue. A literal lightning missile restricted to straight line movements, but that’s not a very bad downside. Deer would literally beat EVERY CURSED SPIRIT. We don’t know much about a few of the 10S, but I’ll try to explain each ability. Divine dog: initial 10S given to the user at the awakening of the technique. They excel in tracking and have good stopping power behind them, but no incredible ability. Great serpent: I’m pretty sure it excels in trapping things, like a constrictor. Nue: Lightning expelling, flight, incredible sight. Rabbit escape: infinitely clone rabbits with only one being the real one. Round deer: Expels RCT. Frog: I’m pretty sure it’s another restraining shikigami like the serpent, but this one is from a range, and less effective. It also has a large mouth that can hold ppl, so cool? Bull: at the cost of only traveling in a straight line, it increases its momentum as it travels over a distance, no proven limit, so potential one shot. Max Elephant: incredible weight, produces large quantities of water. Tiger: idk tbh, if I had to guess this one would be on the same level as the nue, round deer, bull type shikigami. Probably excels in output/strength, something like a divine dog totality, but maybe stronger, or maybe something else. Divine general magoraga: I’m pretty sure it’s been explained millions of times, so no need to go in depth. Can adapt to any and all phenomena, the ultimate power of the 10S. Imma be so honest, I think either there is a glaring weakness to a few of these shikigami, or the 10S users have all been incompetent, even the edo one. The bull is my first option to potentially one shot maho, if it rlly doesn’t have a limit, or an incredibly high limit. Just set up a long distance, and right when the bull is almost at the destination, start the ritual. One shot. Drop max elephant from a large height in the sky on top, and it’s GG. Start the ritual above a container of extremely conductive liquids, and max output nue. Could even do a totality of max elephant and nue to fire an electric beam at max output. Totality of max elephant and the bull at a huge distance in the sky, and maybe even destroy everything like Yuki. Like, either gege has yet to write in a limit/weakness to a lot of these shikigami abilities, or the 10S users have all been as unimaginative as Megumi. The only person that has ever done anything like this, is Sukuna by making agito. The 10S is an instant top of grade 1 card, and potentially a special grade card if Megumi would just put in the work to unlock the 9 except Maho, and learn totality to its full extent. The fingerer would be demolished.
Yorozu’s creation power is not the same as the Zenin creation technique it is much more powerful. The Zenin creation technique is like an ant compared to a skyscraper next to Yorozu’s creation technique
@@nigby6237 It’s the same technique, the user is far superior. Mai was held back by her mindset, being a twin, and her CE amount. It’s the exact same technique tho.
Also forgot to mention, they have an army of cursed spirits, and armory full of cursed tools as well. We know nothing of what the other 2 clans have. Also Ogi’s technique we know nothing abt, which could be inherited, and idk who else is the main line, is jinichi not also naobito’s brother? If so they got that fist technique. They just have literally so much more than the rest, it’s a wonder how they aren’t in control of all of the jujutsu world rn. Before Gojo was born, and I’d argue as a kid if they wanted to forsake all morals, they very much could take over everything. The only one that could arguably stop them is Yuki or anyone from the previous generation at that special grade level we don’t know of, but since we don’t know them I doubt they would’ve done anything. Zenin clan is busted.
And yet in the most ironic twist, they were the first to fall because despite everything they had, they decided to squander their gifts in exchange for unrefined strength and in the end, they fell because they were blind to true absolute power that they wished to find without stagnating.
I think one thing you missed that I belive to be a big part of Zenin clan as a whole is that it's members often uphold the ideas that where thrust upon them by the clan, but they don't really belive in. Naobito is a clear case of this, as thanks to his past he learned to respect strength and hard work, but due to this infaction of tradition he tends to ignore it when judging other people. (or something like that I hope you get the idea) But other example would be Toji, who despite being literally The Strongest for awhile doesn't see himself that way and eventually dies trying to prove his not weak.
The Zenin clan believe in the power of tradition. But they're absolutely resistant to any form of change to the status quo. That is ultimately the whole clans undoing.
You guys are too hard in Naobito. He was holding his familiy back from killing a bunch of children, and had enough foresight to make Megumi the family head if anything happened to Gojo (to keep his family in check, this was the actual reason). He just understimated how evil his brother was. Also there was nothing he could against Jogo, he immediatly recognized how dangerous he was and was killed immediatly. Also Jogo is the strongest curse apart from Sukuna.
@@viniciusgrosse1958 no he's not, you can't be both, an incarnated sorcerer is a human who's body was turned into a cursed object and then consumed by someone allowing them to use that body as a vessel. Sukuna also makes it clear he isn't a cursed spirit, directly saying if he was Mahoraga's sword would've killed him. If you're referring to him calling himself a curse in chapter 269 then he means the literal definition of curse, not a cursed spirit, iirc, the word used in Japanese is different from the one used for cursed spirit
I hate to say it, but I feel like Nabito is only few who saw the REAL potential of Maki. I mean, in this kind of family with traditional values, if a woman who serves others says she wants to run away from home, she will be punished no matter what. But he didn't punish Maki with any malice or worse, but just let her do whatever she wanted, and even gave her many tests. I really think the words he said to Maki were meant to inspire her and stimulate her true potential. Finally, think about it, during the Shibuya incident, he had been urging Maki to go back, and if it hadn't been for his support, she might have died there on the spot.
Ya know its kinda poetic that the zenin were so resistant to changes and the strongest shinigami their strongest tech can summon is the most adaptable thing in the series
I actually love the fact that in this series, the elder one actually have CT inspired by modern phenomena (Electric Guitar, FPS), while the younger ones have more traditional aspect in their CT (Shikigami, Voodoo-ism). Surely the author did this on purpose... .
I'd love to see an Projection Sorcery user that is inspired in the 60fps interpolation concept Maybe with a biding vow that allows them to move even faster thsn 24fps, but with the draw back that their movements become imprecise? Or maybe the draw back could be that the user could "chose" 24fps of movements, but the interpolated frames to reach 60fps were decided by instinct, maybe even Messing up the momentum of the chosen frames, as a reference to how 60fps edits of an animation make them look weird and stupid a lot of the times bc the animators intended the animation to be 24fps and changing that messes up with that they intended
4:16 oh god, maki and mai are megumi’s aunts 11:47 Gege: good news jogo, you got my favorite voice actor so you were saved from getting bodied by Toji Jogo: phew….. wait, this doesn’t make sense, Nanami’s your favorite character and he’s still- Gege: instead your getting bodied by Sukuna

He just got done dealing with a special grade who was handling three sorcerers at once, got his arm ripped off, was bleeding like crazy, and was probably tired as hell Him dying for those wounds is not surprising, especially when you look at maki who mostly survived due to her heavenly restriction, and nanami who was barely alive before meeting mahito. The old age didn't help either
@@farsous10 see i consider him faster It's really not clear but i see why you would consider toji faster But naobito technique is just designed around him getting faster
what's more interesting is that when killing all the Zenin Maki awakened, Sukuna says that she flayed her flesh and kept nothing but bones achieving true nothingness or true Zen. So Maki is the truest Zenin.
Kokichi Muta’s heavenly restriction is painful existence ever moment of your life. Toji & Maki’s only discomfort was being born in the Zenin clan. The clan that would absolutely love Kokichi had he been born a Zenin
Naobito is way to interesting of a character for how little screen time he has. As the head of the Zenin clan we can usually prescribe most of their actions as his actions. The clan is very conservative/traditionalist and he shares in their flaws but he also acts against it. The clan is super misogynistic and hates people without ce, that being said Naobito was fairly friendly with Toji and Maki considering everything, and he saved maki's life. The clan hates modern techniques, and while naobito's ct seems retro now at the the time it was very modern. And then he chooses Megumi to be the clan leader instead of someone from the clan. Like hes a terribke person, but hes so much better than everyone else in the clan that it nakes you wonder how bad he actually was.
Traditionalism isn't inherently bad or good, it's just a method of keeping the values, traits, and rituals within a safeguarded parameter so it doesn't become diluted by other people's values or ideas. There are things that should be kept sacred. If you let too many people enter in a niche, it can become toxic by unwanted discourse or become perverted by twisted individuals who don't have any sincere motives when entering the niche. This can be polluting a religion that loses its own merits of ethics and the rituals that traditions maintained, or even a hobby where mainstream dilutes it through a broad amount of infiltration and hijacking. However, if a tradition becomes too insular by the corrupt, refusing to change can doom the tradition to die through implosive collapse by their own worst attributes that they cultivated on their own use of lack of accountability and refusal for reflection on themselves. Because of this, the Zen'in Clan fell upon their own sword by letting hubris ruin themselves.
theres a couple things im confused on that u mention in the video at 13:09 u say Simple Domain [SD] causes Cursed Technique Burnout [CTB] which isnt true, its the whole reason Yuki resorted to defending her self with SD instead of her actual domain, so once they broke Kenjakus barrier he would face CTB and jump him after at 20:51 u say he achieved his position from hard work but Ogi is actually saying he got his position because Ogis kids sucked in Jujutsu terms [Mai and Maki]
For the first bit of confusion, my statement comes from chapter 227 when they are discussing the differences between FBE and SD, Kusakabe mentions how FBE can't be stripped away and Shoko claims that FBE can be used during Domain Burnout while SD can't. Which I might be wrong is saying SD can cause the burnout that's how I read the difference there. For the second issue, Ogi is partly wrong in universe, while his children being inferiors is likely a factor. In the Jujutsu Kaisen Fanbook, so word of god, Akutami directly says that Naobito is the head of the Zenin clan because he's the strongest. Meaning that despite Naobito's lesser technique, his hard work and training made him superior to his brother. I mean Naobito is called the Fastest Sorcerer in the World, him having a talented son on top of that just made him a shoe-in for leader position.
I feel like since Toji gave birth to a 10s user, there’s no reason to get rid of him, heavenly restricted users can still give birth to powerful curse users, hereditary techniques are still able to be inherited, even if Toji wasn’t strong, there wasn’t really a reason to outcast him
I personally think naobito not letting maki rank up is to motivate her while also protecting her Because he litteraly has met toji he knows her potential
its odd that the one who doesnt have curse energy is the one to create a child with the treasured technique. does this mean if the zenin manage killed toji back then would it also mean the end of ten shadow
Part of me wonders if Naobito was a necessary evil since with Maki, he just told her "Yeah good luck out there you fucking loser" but the moment he died, the family went all murder happy and tried to purge the twins.
I really love that Naobito being a selfish bastard would have been a good thing if that selfishness was centered around himself instead of his clan. In jujutsu kaisen it's kill or be killed and at the end no matter what legacy you think you're leaving behind you still die alone and things will be out of your control.
It's kinda funny now that I think about it. If Toji was the son of Naobito's older brother, doesn't that mean by blood Megumi was supposed to inherit the zenin clan by default?
@@Aintiastinker2 There's another brother since Toji isn't Ogi or Naobito's son, and assuming the clan as a default believes in passing the reigns to the oldest son then if meti is right, Toji would've been a clan heir if he wasn't born with a heavenly restriction
You misunderstood the name Naobito. The "Bito" in "Naobito" isn't a word, or a reference to anything alone. It the Rendaku form of the word 人, "Hito", meaning person. In Japanese, certain sounds change when used as compounds in native words. For example 恋人, koi bito, koi hito, love person, a lover / sweetheart. Additionally, "Bito" as a sound, isn't a common word in Japanese. The first thing that will come into anyone mind is hito. I hope you see this comment, and correct this mistake. If not, I regret posting it as it will boost you in the algorithm to spread misinformation. His name literally means "Straight Person", which, i Interpret to be a reference to him being dedicated to the straight unyielding path of tradition.
He seems so weak because in the Shibuya arc we had Gojo vs special grades, Toji returning, 2 Sukuna fights, and Kenjaku's reveal. I wish we got another arc before that for him and non special grades to shine. He is pretty strong compared to most of the verse if you think about it but the comparison to the top tiers is crazy. Kinda like how in Naruto Jonin and even the more normal kages are supposed to be really strong compared to the average but hot garbage next to Naruto and Sasuke at the end.
I mean, he almost dogwalked Dagon pretty much without help (as Nanami was of limited use, and Maki was useless without a higher tier cursed weapon against someone like Dagon), and if Dagon hadnt clutched up and managed to pop off his Domain, Naobito would have easily won. Thats pretty crazy for a Grade 1 sorcerer, given how strong the Disaster Curses were. And even then, if Megumi had been part pf the group before the Domain went up, he could have shut down the sure hit effect and uninjured Naobito could probably havr done enough damage to Dagon to destroy his Domain, leading to the same relatively easy victroy. I always saw him as extremely impressive.
@@Jb-id1bu Yeah he was owning Dagon pretty hard before the domain. I wish he got more action though. Like maybe have that group face Hanami and it's domain too before that group tries to jump Gojo.

No bro, I'm sure that they covet 10s because it went even with a fucking six eyes limitless user.

When did it even say they shun Projection sorcery???
@Timmy-mi2ef Naobito originally wasnt going to become the clan head because of projection sorcery, the only reason he did was because the original clan heir was maki and mais father, and because his children were born with heavenly and low ce respectively and were females, the next head became naobito instead of him
The zenin clan is like a double edged sword to me. On one hand I feel that tradition is what helped them become to strong in the first place, but in the end it was also their undoing because of the way they treated woman and those without cursed energy. Naobito was strong, but he grew decadent, which lead to him dying and the zenin clan eventually going under
Tradition is stability, but becomes chaos once something breaks from the "Norm".
I feel like them even trying to fight the tide sped up process of their downfall
“The Bamboo that bends with the wind is stronger than the oak that resists”

Just chipping in
Traditional families are also, by their very nature, conservative.
Not gonna lie that was a whole lot of yap but I understand
You cooked
The fact naobito is not called waluigi by any of the young characters is a missed opportunity
Because why soul the name of a beloved character by comparing him to Naobito?
Nabito motivating someone is like smaug giving you money
Lmao
For a 71 year old man in Shibuya he looked pretty good, definitely one of my favourite side characters in pre culling games.

@@nigby6237
It’s the same technique, the user is far superior. Mai was held back by her mindset, being a twin, and her CE amount. It’s the exact same technique tho.
@@nigby6237 Dead wrong, its the same technique. Just that Yorozu had enough strength and creativity to better utilize it.
This old timer lived and died in the same arc.
Incredible
I loved Naobito's design and he seemed interesting, I would have loved to have more of him.
The names you make for videos are actually really nice like this one "the dangers of tradition"
Sukuna is an incarnated sorcerer, not a curse.
Only curse giving Jogo a run for his money is maybe curse Naoya. Jogo has low dura but good ap
@@thatoneguy5343 he's also a curse
@@viniciusgrosse1958 no he's not, you can't be both, an incarnated sorcerer is a human who's body was turned into a cursed object and then consumed by someone allowing them to use that body as a vessel.
Sukuna also makes it clear he isn't a cursed spirit, directly saying if he was Mahoraga's sword would've killed him.
If you're referring to him calling himself a curse in chapter 269 then he means the literal definition of curse, not a cursed spirit, iirc, the word used in Japanese is different from the one used for cursed spirit

Can’t wait to see you do Maki, Naoya, or the culling game players
Love your work man!
I actually love the fact that in this series, the elder one actually have CT inspired by modern phenomena (Electric Guitar, FPS), while the younger ones have more traditional aspect in their CT (Shikigami, Voodoo-ism). Surely the author did this on purpose... .
I love your work. Keep your head up.
Babe get up, meti posted
I'd love to see an Projection Sorcery user that is inspired in the 60fps interpolation concept
Maybe with a biding vow that allows them to move even faster thsn 24fps, but with the draw back that their movements become imprecise? Or maybe the draw back could be that the user could "chose" 24fps of movements, but the interpolated frames to reach 60fps were decided by instinct, maybe even Messing up the momentum of the chosen frames, as a reference to how 60fps edits of an animation make them look weird and stupid a lot of the times bc the animators intended the animation to be 24fps and changing that messes up with that they intended
Something about projection sorcery, a technique about following a strict set of actions or facing a consequence, suits the head of the zenin.

His technique is so unique that i got invested in this man
I hoped jogo didn't kill him come on for the 2nd fastest sorcerer how do you die to that attavk yes he was damaged but his legs were fine so idk why he died to that ?
He just got done dealing with a special grade who was handling three sorcerers at once, got his arm ripped off, was bleeding like crazy, and was probably tired as hell
Him dying for those wounds is not surprising, especially when you look at maki who mostly survived due to her heavenly restriction, and nanami who was barely alive before meeting mahito. The old age didn't help either
If he had both his arms he probably would not have died

I wonder if Naoya was a gamer then would projection sorcery evolve into 30 or 60 fps?
If a Zenin clan plays fighting game than the projection technique would so powerful
what's more interesting is that when killing all the Zenin Maki awakened, Sukuna says that she flayed her flesh and kept nothing but bones achieving true nothingness or true Zen. So Maki is the truest Zenin.
Dagon: "WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN NB NAMES!"

I need you to do one of these videos on Hajime Kashimo. It should be titled "The Fraudulance of Hajime Kashimo".
YOOOOO I CAN HEAR LIBRARY OF RUINA BACKGROUND MUSIC IT GOES 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Accurate.
theres a couple things im confused on that u mention in the video
at 13:09 u say Simple Domain [SD] causes Cursed Technique Burnout [CTB] which isnt true, its the whole reason Yuki resorted to defending her self with SD instead of her actual domain, so once they broke Kenjakus barrier he would face CTB and jump him after
at 20:51 u say he achieved his position from hard work but Ogi is actually saying he got his position because Ogis kids sucked in Jujutsu terms [Mai and Maki]
Naobito kinda looks like that guy from the SS arc who helped the Karakura gang catch up to Ichigo when he fought Byakuya
A character with a "24 frames per second" ability is amazing to me
I feel like since Toji gave birth to a 10s user, there’s no reason to get rid of him, heavenly restricted users can still give birth to powerful curse users, hereditary techniques are still able to be inherited, even if Toji wasn’t strong, there wasn’t really a reason to outcast him
Now make a vid on king of misoginy naoya
I personally think naobito not letting maki rank up is to motivate her while also protecting her
Because he litteraly has met toji he knows her potential
its odd that the one who doesnt have curse energy is the one to create a child with the treasured technique. does this mean if the zenin manage killed toji back then would it also mean the end of ten shadow
Wasn't expecting a Togata cameo but alr, I'll gladly take it.
Can't wait for the next user of projection sorcery to just be a video editor...

It is. I notice that stupid stairway from miles away. Had too much trouble with those two guys with the dual blade polearms.

You should do a video about Toji or kenjaku
He already did a video on toji
Everyone always talks about the dangers of tradition thesedays....but never the opposite
I’m pretty sure Ogi was Naobito’s older brother.

I read the title from Danger to Dancer
It's DAY - GONE
DAGON
Naobito watching Spiderverse: The people at those awards shows are fools for not giving this film of the year. So many details.
Ok but who is the next "big - 3"
