Thanks so much for the review guys! Really happy to see you enjoyed our board. More to come!
You made a cool product and I am interested to see a skateboard with the same material cuz they will go ham in the braille house on it 😎👌👏
Excited to pick one up!
make a normal skate and send it to braille!!
Normal skateboard would be great! Pleas make it happen!
Tell gabe to ship the carbon fiber back so you guys can recycle it!
Sic board. I had, SECTOR 9 FLEX board years ago and it's probably my favourite deck. I used to be able to pumpcarve up slight hill without pushing. Flats you never had to push and had kick on rear so could dropin on sic ramps. Front trucks were right at nose and board skinny surfboard shape. So many km were done and awesome downhill board
now make a submarine
Tf
He'd probably make a better one than bro did ☠️
it will implode
Yeah, we need less millionaires/billionaires. Let them get imploded
Too soon man too soon
Now glue it back together and make a Frankenstein board video 😂
Great video guys! Love tuning in every day :)
Acetone is the chemical solvent for abs, if the used acetone to "glue" (Solvent weld) the board back together, technically those bits would be as strong as the original material, and stronger than the lenthwise layer lines
Love seeing Aarons shred and push it lately. First TRy!!!!!
I love this channel, along with car stuff, and being a rollerblader, that price, for that board is super reasonable. Hopefully for you long boarders they will introduce colored carbon type ideas with this. Great video!
We are exploring colored glass fiber filaments. Appreciate your support!
@@Prototyp3_Official yall are killing it
I love that board for a cruiser. At 42 years old, my knees and heels can't take more damage from street skating, but I still won't give up so I cruise and do some tricks, nothing crazy 😊 Totally great size and shape, this one. Thank you for sharing. The price is a bit high though, for a deck only longboard, but it is also pretty hightech. Hope it lasts the rest of the video 😂
Btw: if you haven't seen a diamond drop longboard from Original Skateboards you have nothing to compare to.
i started to watching your videos again recently and seeing Lance in this brought tears to my eyes. i really miss him and i hope he is doing very well
this is crazy and cool video I like the board Braille
When you rolled over it with the prius the first time, you were smack dab in the middle of the board, which is the most flexible. The second time around, you were closer to one side than the other, so it snaped.
They should make a deep ocean submersible out of carbon fiber
and screw in a screen on the inside
I bet a plexiglass porthole would work perfect with that.
i have a Logitech controller they can use to steer!! I'll send it right over!
is it too soon to lol
@@russellzauner The only real loss was the poor kid who didn't even want to go.
Aaron is very funny and cool!
The whole Braille family as well 👍🏼
Hello from Germany 🤝
Hallo aus Kalifornien
If you get the more elastic thing on the bottom and a harder layer on the top, it can only bend downwards because lower layer can stretch and top layer can not
Sick! Very cool board
Glad you liked it
Mine was Sector 9 Cosmic carver and was abit upwards flex when not on. Like you felt on that board, smooth ride. With kick it felt like normal board. Could ollie but would go so high and far in front was crazy aw I can't ollie properly anyway. But love flying down hills at crazy speeds. If hill had T-junction at bottom I'd bring out the freebord. Keep rippin fella's Avagud1
The Lance clips!!! Please send our greetings and love next time you talk to him!
Longboards are honestly my favorite
love your vids
That dog was so cute omg
I forgot how sick that park looks. I don't skate but it looks so fun.
It can bend in one direction and not the other because of the way the layer lines are facing. Its kind of like wood grain, when the plastic is extruded its done in parallel lines.
Go little dude 👍😎
That packaging was like a Magician pulling scarves from his sleeve. 😂
I think it broke upside down because between not having the trucks/wheels in the system, and hitting it offset, you made the length taking the bend shorter...
As for the lengthways split, that was along the layer lines, the weakest part of any fff 3d print (i.e not resin or sla printing)
I would install one of the trucks closer to a center of the deck in order to make an improvised tail from one side, it would make cruising and doing tricks a lot easier. Even though the lack of tails is questionable, I like the idea of 3d-printed carbon fiber board.
Yo seeing Lance in the flashback straight up made me cry. WHERE IS THE TIME GONE R.I.P.!
throwback faces made me smile
Go longboarding with the landyachtz crew, they make some awesome boards in loads of shapes and styles
I enjoy the AK Picture Me Rollin’ and Ridin’ mash-up.
I can't believe the guys never call him out on this, he's been singing it like that for years
Try sector 9 cosmos with reverse flex. So sic
"it rides like a beautiful unicorn 🦄" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
you guys trying to break it is a brilliant idea especially if the person who sends the board wants their board to be an actual product it will help the designer/builder create something that's stronger, it lets them fix the flaws of the board.
Honestly, running on it with a 1.5 tons vehicle doesn't really help much, because it was never meant to get that force in the first place.
Bolt some trucks risers on top of the deck, maybe that gives you enough tail action
I love your vids
14:39 Gabe Cruzing 😂
My old flex deck broke after couple of fast hits to the nose after falling and shooting board into curb and wall by accident, a little split between layers at nose and lost all strength. Couldn't ride afterwards as deck would hit floor unless perfectly standing above trucks.
Dang
Is my dream board🥰🥰
We need a video featuring Glo's hat collection.
just add a 1/4" longer screw and the truck-tail of another board overlapped on top to get a pop end
What adidas model are on Glo?
Drill 2 new holes to move the trucks back then put some regular trucks and wheels.
10:51 that trick should be called "literal bager" like Aaron said😂
Lol Glo said "we got a shredder..." made me think of a joke.
Somebody call the Ninja Turtles........we got THE SHREDDER!
😂
first🎉🎉 keep up the work yo👍
Congratulations you are
I think the difference that made it break was that you had it up on the curb, which increased the angle of the bend. I don't think it was because it was the opposite direction. I think it might have survived the second time if you had flipped the board over and put the trucks on the bottom instead of the top.
Why was Freemont closed ??
why was fremont closed?
Would a standard longboard deck have survived the first drive over?
General question have guys done a gorilla glue skateboard and will it break
You know how it's easier to rip printer paper vertically than it is due to how the fibers are arranged? Seems very likely that the 3D printed carbon fibers have a specific arrangement that gives them greater tensile strength for the kinds of flex typical of skateboard use than for other kinds of flex. Denser fiber structure on top, looser structure on bottom to allow flex.
Now we need a truck deck❤
man i love ur vids
That was interesting
I know normal carbon fiber is a weaved polymer so it has a machine direction and a cross direction. The machine direction is very strong but the cross direction is much weaker. I’m not sure how this translates to 3d printed carbon fiber, but this could explain it.
If someone smarter than me could fact check me, that’d be sick
Precisely, nice work!
SKATEGOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
we need a Gabe Cruiser Board
Finally, a deck that makes the *donk* noise when you stack.
You know it’s warm outside when glo wears a tee
Lance woah
IM Still waiting for a 3D printed bike hub
i ❤ aaron kyro
the true goat
Back in 2008 while i was in Iraq i ordered a full carbon fiber deck from a company called turtle decks. It felt great and lasted the entire time and i left it there for the unit that replaced us. I wish i kept it because i can't find that company anymore. My only issue was it was really thin and didn't flex much which made the shinners really bad.
You should make a concrete wheels
There not at woodward anymore kinda sad not really tho
that thumbnail made me wonder if you have ever used carpet as grip tape and if not, i would love to see that
that is wild that its flexible one direction.
My elbow is flexible in one direction. My socks stretch better in one direction than another. The elastic band in my baseball cap only stretches in one direction. A tree can bend horizontally much better than vertically. And there are a lot of other examples to look at. If you have that in your head then it makes total sense that an object would be able to bend or expand in one direction better than others.
ABS is a type of plastic material used for 3-D printing, infusing it with carbon fiber makes it more difficult to print with but really improves strength.
so the first carbon fiber skate board is not really a skate board but a long board that s so great
From me, "science people" =]
-Generally speaking a bi directional will be a woven fiber, where a uni will be a non woven. Woven fabrics have fibers running in two directions and as such will be more isotropic. Even with two directions, a laminate generally will use alternating orientation in order to have close to true in plane isotropy. Woven fibers are interlaced as one fiber will go over and under another fiber. As such, woven fibers have crimp which can affect the materials properties. Such effects can be increased abrasion resistance, drapability, and stiffness.
A unidirectional fiber has all of the fibers running in one direction, as such the strength of the material will be anisotropic. These materials need to be oriented in multiple orientations in order to achieve some level of isotropy. Because of this, unidirectional parts can be more tailored to the loads the part will see. Using unidirectional, allows parts to be made more efficient (strength to weight). Also unidirectional tends to have a higher fiber volume and lower resin content than a woven as there is no crimp in a unidirectional fabric. Solid uni parts also tend to have lower damage tolerance than a similar part made from a woven material. Unidirectional parts need to have more layers in order to create a more isotropic laminate. As such the layup process involves more steps which can increase the production times. Unidirectional is usually used in more highly loaded parts and in parts that need the highest strength to weight ratio possible.
This is what I'm guessing is the bare bones of it. The fibers are "printed" in a specific patter that allows more malleable function of the material from a specific weight force direction.
That deck should be wrapped in some kind of very durable rubber to make it more absorbent of the road feedback.
Cruze definitely cruisin
ARRONNNNNNN
After a week of skating I landed my first Kickflip 💪🏻💪🏻
I hate you 😂😂😂 I’m skating already 1 month and I can even ollie properly 😂😂😂 congratulations
I got a new skateboard from decathlon wish i can learn to skate
you can lol
Braille you sould do a new series of a you make it we break it
didn't think it would explode like that
Nice
its kinda like a a carbon fiber cylinder, great at taking pressure in one direction, like a pressure tank, but terrible at taking compression, like a submersible. supposedly.
There are longboards with double kicks out there.
Loaded Fattail has a nice single tail.
Young’s modulus
Gabe with the anti-pun on the drop-in, "Now you're pushing it." 😂
Seeing the car near the board made me think of Napoleon Dynamite
Why was Fremont closed I missed it
They didn't say
lands on hands - that’s why he has kneepads on. Cool product but what I always wondering is who will buy it at this price point?
Submarine skateboard when
Will do next lol
Someone call Master Splinter , we got a Shredder
A 3d printer is essentially a hot glue gun that melts layers on top of layers to build a thing. Where the layers bond together creates a weak spot. That lengthwise break was right on the layer line where the break across was against the layer lines. I mean you drove your car on it so yeah it'll fail.
call him Gabe Cruzington
You should maybe return it to see if they can re-recycle the board!
Good call
In defense of this boards price point vs their reference, I wouldn't pay 180 for a sector 9, they feel rough
these days they make everything out of carbon fiber
😢😂
Is that a reference to something specific?? 😂
They should print trucks and wheels too!!
They absolutely shouldn't.
I think we have the technology to make functional 3D printed trucks at this point
It can’t flex the other way because of the concave
Nice video and seems like a quality product, a shame it had to be destroyed but...the ring must be destroyed 😎👌 love braille ❤ also cool to see Freemont again, oh the memories, i really hope lance is enjoying life cuz he Is a really cool and funny guy(hope he brings that to being a cop they need to be chill)
If they 3d printered this flat deck they could just make it conventional way by pressing stuff. 3d printing is necessary with harder shapes and structures
The future
Carbon fiber is designed to take forces in certain directions.
Longboards are for those of us who used to skate 30 years ago but are now afraid to try tricks again.
