On the first visit, we always take a conservative approach. Bunion is like a loaded spring. Do too much, it can uncoil and be uncomfortable to the patient to the point of waking up with pain in the middle of the night. This patient has moderate severity bunion pain. Restoring the arch was sufficient enough to untwist the bones alleviating her bunion pain. In future visits, we'll record correcting the 1st metatarsal, seismoids, and the great hallox (big toe) when her foot is ready for it.
